Museum
“The Timeball Tower is situated on the seafront at Deal and was established in 1855. Within the museum there are video, static and interactive displays covering three centuries of involvement in signalling, the fight against smuggling, and as a vital link in safe navigation of distant oceans. The museum is on 4 floors with no ramp or lift access. If you have a disability, please telephone the museum in advance. Groups and coach trips are welcome, but please give prior notice.”

Bar
“Here at the Court Yard we are a Bar & Restaurant dedicated to creating a relaxed grown-up ambience, whether you're sipping a glass of wine in the lounge or dining under the stars with our sliding glass roof. We have a focus on getting the freshest ingredients possible, whether that's lobster caught by local fishermen just a stone's throw from the restaurant, or other locally sourced Kentish produce.”

Bar
“Excellent seafood, with a choice of menus. Eat in the bar, outside in the sun with sea views, or in the restaurant for a more varied choice of two/three course menus. On Summer Sundays, live music is often hosted on the square outside, with lively locals as well as tourists meeting up to eat and have fun.”

“Two castles dating from the 16th century. Walmer is still the residence of the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports and has fine gardens and an array of exhibits inside, while Deal is rather emptier.”

“A traditional British cafe, this friendly family run restaurant has been kickstarting Sunday mornings for as long as I can remember. They specialise in the full English breakfast including toast, coffee, orange juice and with change from a fiver it has to be the best value for money breakfast around. Highly recommended for breakfast any day of the week!”

Meal Takeaway
“This is my favourite Fish and Chip shop in Deal. It's not far to get to and they always cook the locally-sourced fish from fresh. You can take away but also eat in. You may even be treated to a sing song by the owner ... he even has a piano in there!”
