“New York Palace Café This is like a renaissance palace which is full of sparkling chandeliers dangling from high ceilings adorned by spectacular frescoes, it's one of the oldest cafes in Budapest, dating back 125 years. The menu is made up of Hungary's most traditional desserts, including around 16 cakes, but of course, it's not only the cuisine that everyone comes here for -- it's the magnificent setting. And , of course the history. In fact, Hungary's most influential newspapers were edited on the second floor of the building. According to legend, on its opening night, a group of writers, including renowned author Molnár Ferenc, were so taken with the place, they threw the key to the main door into the Danube so that it could stay open all night ;-) ”

“The A38 ship is a local favorite and a concert venue attracting high-profile bands and DJs. From jazz to pop to rock, A38 displays a wide range of genres when it comes to music. They offer the best parties which all take place on a ship giving some of the best views of the Danube. A38 is located on the Buda side of the city and features live music on the deck. The basement floor is a great place for dinner but keep in mind, like most restaurants in Budapest, they don’t offer many vegetarian options.”

Museum
“UPDATE: The museum closed in the fall of 2017 to start the full reconstruction and expansion and will possibly reopen in 2022. The building of the Museum of Applied Arts (Iparművészeti Múzeum) is one of the finest examples of Hungarian Art-Nouveau architecture. Its Zsolnay porcelain tiles are reminiscent of Islamic and Hindu architecture. Its interior on the other hand, is pure white, blending various architectural styles. In addition to the permanent exhibition of Hungarian craftsmanship and artwork, the building hosts numerous design events and temporary modern exhibitions as well. ”
