Lieu de musique
“The A38 ship is a local favorite and a concert venue attracting high-profile bands and DJs. From jazz to pop to rock, A38 displays a wide range of genres when it comes to music. They offer the best parties which all take place on a ship giving some of the best views of the Danube. A38 is located on the Buda side of the city and features live music on the deck. The basement floor is a great place for dinner but keep in mind, like most restaurants in Budapest, they don’t offer many vegetarian options.”

Café
“Frei Cafe is a chain of cafes. The place itself might not be the prettiest, but the coffee is the best in the area. You can have iced or hot coffee in all flavors but if you prefer high quality espresso (whether from Africa, Asia or Turkey), you can also get it here. Frei Cafe also provides sweets, tarts and cakes. And if you are lucky and come during summer, you can tase their coffee flavoured ice-creams as well.”

Boulangerie
“ Amber's French Bakery & Cafe, one of the Frenchest places of Budapest, opened at the Fővám Square-end of Váci Street. The combination of a bakery, confectionery and café imitates the French countryside with its earthy colors, yet is still urban and modern, thanks to the spacious interior and lights. Their selection includes a multitude of colorful, creamy cakes with almonds, pistachio and salty peanuts, as well as sandwiches, salty baked goods, and the city’s largest éclairs. Moreover, their products are constantly renewed and changed seasonally. If you are passing by, be sure to grab a ham and cheese croissant with hot coffee!”

“The very place to buy fresh bread in the city. Watch out, there is no sign indicating the bakery, you have to go after your nose:) Try the Belgian chocolate rolls or the freshly baked rye bread straight from the oven, hot. We are happy that Józsi, the legendary baker has opened his bakery in our neighborhood.”

Cafe
“Raj Ráchel is an amazing pastry-cook. She is most well-known for her special hungarian-jewish cake called flódni. It is a layered cake layered with walnuts, poppyseeds, apple and jam, spiced with cinnamon, white wine, sultanas, honey and so and so. It is a really rich, but not TOO sweet cake which is rightly said to be one of the tastiest hungarian desserts. 1 min from the flat.”
