“For French desserts, coffee and brunch O Cafe is the spot. It’s in the main drag in Old Fair Oaks and feels like you’ve stepped into another simpler time. Get stuffed on buckwheat crepes then stroll down to the plaza park and soak up some sun. The chickens walk around free and easy here. It feels like a village and offers instant decompression from modern life. ”

“Personally, I love a good spicy curry with a side of jasmine rice. It’s my soul food. And paired with a glass of white wine it cannot be beat, in my humble opinion. My daughter the Picky Eater, can be relied on to eat her chicken satay happily so this is a favorite. Another bonus, it’s a neighborhood walk! Enjoy the evening and return home via Magnolia Ave. You can turn left on Orangewood, right on Deborah, and get back on New York to get to Mount Diablo Court. I like this little variant because you walk past an enormous fruiting cactus! An exotic sight on a bucolic walk. I’ve also spotted a little red fox coming home this way one night. And that’s just cute!”
