Parc
“A short drive from Boothbay Harbor. Reid State Park is a public recreation area overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on Georgetown Island, Sagadahoc County, Maine. The 770-acre park is noted for its sandy beaches and sand dunes—both rare in the state of Maine—plus its rocky tidepools, salt marshes, and tidal lagoon. Ocean swimming is offered at Mile Beach and Half Mile Beach, while warmer waters are found at a tidal inlet, The Lagoon, where the quieter waters tend to be 10 to 15 degrees warmer. The park also has picnicking areas, fishing, and hiking trails.”

“This place about an hour north of Portland (20 mins from Bath) but it's a lovely drive. My father was a lobsterman - it was hard to impress him with a quaint setting or a steamed lobster, but this place did it. They have 3 shacks: steamed items, fried or pan-fried items (think fried clams, burgers, etc.) and ice cream. You order your food then go wait at communal picnic tables. Servers see where you are from the numbered boats they give you to place with your party. Watch the boats, birds and fishermen while you eat. And you can BYOB!”

Quartier
“It is hard to describe Five Islands! It is basically a wharf where you can buy a variety of food and sit outside on picnic tables and what is technically the Sheepscot river but feels like the Ocean, because at this point it is definitely tidal. If you go to Reid State Park Beach this would be the place to get a bite to eat.”
