  • Cathy and Liam's townhouse is very lovely. We, a family of four, very much enjoyed our stay. Wished that we could have stayed longer.

    Julia2017-07-18T00:00:00Z

The cosy wooden cabin sleeps 3 people and is 30 m from the main house away that has 2 bedrooms for 4 people. TOILET AND SHOWER IN MAIN HOUSE. Generous Breakfast included. A haven of relaxation!
The cabin has space for 3 people, there is a double and 1 single bed, solid fuel stove, running water and some cooking facilities. Toilet and shower are in the main house as is TV/internet. The place is very quiet and peaceful. The wooden cabin is located 30 m from the the main house. The main house has 2 bedrooms (peaceful organic farmhouse room 1 and peaceful organig farmhouse room 2) that sleep 4 people. Breakfast is served in the main house and there is great emphasis on nice organic fresh food; a lot of it is produced on the farm or fairly traded.

  • Josef made us feel very welcome, a highly recommended stay in peaceful, quiet surroundings. The full Irish breakfast was also the best Iv ever had! Highly recommended all round! :)

  • Such a wonderful peaceful tranquil place to stay. I was in the cabin and it was a great space - the wood burning stove makes for a great warmth all through the day, the kitchenette was very useful and the surroundings were just perfect. Brilliantly welcoming hosts and a fabulous breakfast every morning. Would absolutely recommend this place and plan to return soon.

    James2015-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Josef was charming, attentive to any needs and respectful of privacy. The cabin is cosy and quiet and the surroundings comfortably homely. All this and an outstanding breakfast make for excellent value for money, I'm happy to recommend and will return again.

  • Josef and Helga were very accommodating and kind, their home is exactly as described. I enjoyed a delicious, lovely dinner in their mostly made from their farm. In the morning Josef showed me around the farm. I would recommend this place to anyone, I felt very comfortable here and the silence and relaxation I got before heading to the big city is irreplaceable. Thank you so much!!

  • What a wonderful trip to Ireland with a wonderful cabin to stay in! From the booking until the moment we left josef and helga were very helpful and attended to every detail. They have a great place out in the country which is nice and relaxing. Josef is a wonderful chef that had a delicious breakfast prepared each morning promptly when we asked even though we were consistently late. Josef and helga also went out of their way to accommodate our 8 month old baby with a high chair to eat breakfast as well as a baby bed. Great stay overall and I'd definitely use them again if I'm back in Ireland!

    Jeff2016-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Josef is a fantastic host, his Irish breakfast was delicious, he also had a big selection of foods from his organic farm including a fresh fruit salad he prepared for us each morning. The cabin was very cosy and romantic with the wood burning stove creating a nice ambiance. Josef prepared a sauna for our last night and it was absolutely magical. Looking forward to visiting his organic farm again in the summer!

Hello to An Tionól Cottage. We are a family of 4 people who have been building and reclaiming an old Irish stone cottage for the past 11 years. We grow a lot of our own food and love the richness and simplicity of living in nature. Welcome!
This is a traditional irish cottage in the west of Ireland near Gort town. Surrounded by lakes, natural forest and close to Galway, the Burren, Kinvara, Cliffts of Moher, east clare, and Ennis. It is the perfect location as a base for your holidays in the west of Ireland. We offer a luxurious wooden cabin with own outdoor bathroom. We also have an onsuit little cottage, very comfortable and charming. You are welcome to use toilet facilities also in the main house. We can offer a healthy breakfast for 5 euro more per person. Other meals can also be arrange with time. We eat mostly organic, local and own produced food as possible. At the Cottage we are a family of 4 with a small organic farm and some animals. We also have our own family business with guests who come here for an english and community experience in an intercultural setting and we also host residential workshop weekends. This is a unique opportunity to experience a community and family environment while you are visiting Ireland. We will support you with any information and tourist attractions you might want to visit. Also with those hidden places that are as worthwhile visiting as those that are in all the guides.
An Tionól cottage and its surroundings are magical. You can find native woodland, lakes and small little roads that give you the opportunity to go for walks in a very charming Irish countryside landscape.
A really lovely place, a fantastic experience, a lot of discoveries even if we speak a very bad english ! An amazing life experience !

    Muriel2013-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at An Tionol cottage, Marta was very king and we had a warm welcome from her and her family. We slept in the cabins surrounded by trees, it's very confortable, warm and decorated with pretty good taste. I loved the An Tionol atmosphere and had a great time talking with Marta !

    Lauraine2013-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Nick & Martas was wonderful! My first Airbnb experience, and i couldn't have asked for anything better. I was always welcome in their home, and was even invited to Marta's birthday party that happened to be the same weekend i was there. When convenient she aslo let me hitch a ride with her if we were going in the same direction. Fresh homemade breakfast every morning was a nice thing to wake up to and the forrest surrounding the area are worth a walk through. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing, and sweet family to stay with on this coast of Ireland.

    Tricia2016-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a pleasant experience! Being a gardener himself, I knew my partner would absolutely love Marta and Nic's place and it was lovely to surprise him! The cottage was more than enough space for the two of us; it was clean and quiet and the grounds were lovely! Nic was a lovely host.

    Shannon2016-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for two nights to explore Galway and the area around the Burren. Marta, Nick and the kids are lovely and helpful. They live in a little community on a charming property and there are wooden cabins for guests. We loved the bunk beds :) We enjoyed our time at An Tionol. Everybody was very nice and breakfast was delicious. Thank you!

    Annika2014-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED staying with Marta!! After a long day of sight seeing and arriving rather late, Marta greeted us at our car door with a warm smile and a flashlight in hand. After showing us our cottage (which was beautiful, clean, and warm!) she invited us in for a cup of tea and a chat. The way Marta and her family live is incredible. Her kids are so well behaved and very cute. Her main cottage is incredible and has a faint smell of essential oils. Marta is so kind and generous and we would definitely stay with her again.

    Randi2013-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed at An Tionol Cottage and had a great time. The property is really beautiful and very unique. Nick and Marta unfortunately were not home during our stay but their friends Nicholas and Eduard were incredibly kind and hospitable. The dogs at the property were also great! The countryside is beautiful and it was a very refreshing break from city life. The only complaint I could say is that the house is not actually in Galway and is, in fact, quite far from Galway. We didn't realize this at the time of booking which was probably our faults but we ended up cutting our stay a day short because we wanted to spend some time in the proximity of Galway City. Nonetheless, we do not regret our lovely stay at An Tionol Cottage as we now have new friends and memories. Cheers.

  • I'd really recommend staying at Della's. She's a great host, very friendly, helpful and we had lots of space to ourselves. She even gave me some help with my film I was working on whilst I was there. The house is very near Coole Park, and also just next to the town of Gort, which has some nice pubs.

  • Della was a fantastic host, very friendly and welcoming. Her home was lovely. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We went to a wedding in gort and they gave us a lift to the venue. I would highly recommend staying here.

    claire2017-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Della was amazing! She picked us up from the bus station, drove us to dinner, and even offered to drive us to other attractions. Her hospitality went above and beyond our expectations. The room was spacious and the bathroom was very clean. Highly recommend if you are interested in seeing Coole Park. Best if you have your own vehicle as it would have been difficult to get around if not for Della.

  • Nice and peaceful house, easy to find, where we past one good night during our trip. Not enough time to know Della, but she was really nice with us. According to us, one thing is missing : a breakfast.

  • Maire was an incredibly warm and welcoming host. Our entire group loved our trip and keep commenting how we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else if we returned again. Our accommodations were exactly as described and were absolutely beautiful. Maire provided us with eggs, fruit, oatmeal, and wonderful scones for breakfast and other generous food in the refrigerator. The setting of her house is absolutely gorgeous and is right by a beautiful lake. Maire kindly helped us with our itineraries and gave us some much needed direction. We loved getting to chat with her and would return in a heartbeat!

We are situated 4km from Gort, 30 mins from Galway and Shannon. An ideal location to explore the Wild Atlantic Way, Kinvara, Burren & Cliffs of Moher. This area provides a range of activities which include local Golf Club, Gregory Yeats Trail, Children's Adventure Centres and Playgrounds, Traditional Pubs, Restaurants and Coffee Shops. We are quite close to Coole Park/Garryland Nature Reserve which is ideal for leisurely cycling/walks. Nearby Galway City is ideal for shopping & museums.
The Guest suite is located upstairs and consists of 2 bedrooms, shared bathroom and a shared reading/relaxation area with tea/coffee facilities, fridge and microwave. All newly refurbished and decorated. This is a private, comfortable modern space.
Local attractions within walking distance include the beautiful, scenic Coole Park, Kiltartan Gregory Museum and Thoor Ballylee. Coole Park was the home of Sir William Gregory and Lady Augusta Gregory. She was one of the most important figures in the Irish Literary Revival of the early 20th century. Kiltartan Gregory Museum is housed in a lovely old building that was a National School built in 1892 by Sir William Gregory of Coole Park, Gort. It is a very charming museum packed with many very interesting items of memorabilia. It is definitely a must see if you are interested in history, Yeats, Lady Gregory or you just want to see how an old schoolhouse might look. Thoor Ballylee is a well-preserved fourteenth-century tower but its major significance is due to its close association to Nobel laureate for Literature, the poet W.B. Yeats. He was a close friend of Lady Augusta Gregory and it was here he spent summers with his family and was inspired to write some of his finest poetry, making the tower his permanent symbol. Golfers have a choice of a number of courses within an hour’s drive including the world famous links at Lahinch and Doonbeg. The beautiful seaport village of Kinvara is 15 minutes away. A must see in this area is Dunguaire Castle, a medieval tower house which was the home of King Guaire, the legendary king of Connacht. Kinvara boasts some 10 pubs, including M'Asal Beag Dubh Bar named after the noted poet Padraic O'Connaire, where Traditional Irish Music can be heard on a regular basis. The Burren Nature Sanctuary with its Fairy Woodland is a magical place to visit for visitors with small children.

On recommande vivement. Merci pour tout mary

  • Très propre. Serviable. Gentille. Très bon séjour. Merci mary

    Marie2018-06-13T00:00:00Z

  • Brigid is a very helpful and nice host. She helped us a lot, when we had a question. The accomodation was very comfortable and nice. We had an own living and dining room wich where really comfy and quiet. If you have a car and you want to explore the Burren or other places near Galway I would really recommend this place.

  • We had a lovely time staying in Brigid and Gerry's home. Their home is absolutely gorgeous, very peaceful and relaxing. There are little rabbits running about the lawn as happy as can be. Brigid and Gerry are both very welcoming, helpful and friendly but at the same time giving us just the right amount of privacy. We had everything we needed from the fresh fruit supplied to the lovely soft comfy towels. Everything was perfect. We would definitely recommend a stay at their home.

  • Brigid's place is lovely, so is she. Room was spacious and comfortable. We really enjoyed our time here. Absolutely recommended.

    Fabrizio2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Brigid is a good host – extremely quick in communication, accommodating and attentive. We enjoyed Brigid’s beautiful house a lot – it’s very close to the Coole Park, where one can go for a run and explore the lakes & scenic views. Galway is not a long drive away by car, so it makes Brigid’s home a great base to explore the area.

Cosy and pretty cottage with balcony bedroom above your own lounge, inglenook fireplace, own entrance. All for guests private use. Full Irish cooked/continental breakfast is provided in the price (eggs from own hens). Kitchen use for guests: microwave/snacks/drinks/toaster. Drinks during your stay are provided free. This is part of my home on a secluded rural smallholding, between Gort and Kinvara. Cats, donkeys & chickens. Turf and firewood provided.
The living room and balcony bed area in my cottage is for your own private use during your stay. It is part of my home when I have no AirBnB guests. It is an old house, so please don't expect flat walls and all mod cons ! Having said that I am very civilized and friendly. Anything I can do to help, I will. I have a large garden, with a table and chairs outside the front of the cottage for guests. You are welcome to use them for a glass of wine on a summer's evening, or even to eat breakfast if the weather permits. The garden is mostly a 'wild' garden, with a few semi cultivated areas. I grow some of my own food in the garden, plus in a polytunnel, and have my own hens for eggs. You are welcome to make tea, coffee, hot choc and cold drinks, as well as make snacks etc. There is a microwave and a toaster you can use. I provide all drinks during your stay (tea, coffee, cocoa, rooibos, green tea, cordials/squash etc). The bathroom is shared with myself during the day only. There is a shower over the bath, and hot water always available. The bath itself is currently awaiting replacement, and can't be used for baths. The bathroom is being refurbished and painted in between guests ! There is wifi in the house for your use. But please bear in mind this is rural Ireland and the download speed is somewhere around 1.6 mbps. It works, but not super fast.
The cottage is located in a very small village called Sheeaun, which is spread out along almost 2 miles of secluded back road, with fields between the very few houses. In the woods surrounding the house, there are the remains of many other old famine cottages. There are only 3 remaining old cottages left in the village. There is very little traffic. For your dinner or lunch you can drive to nearby Gort or Kinvara, as there are several great places to eat at reasonable cost there. I am very happy to advise on cafes and restaurants for your meals. There is also a Chinese restaurant and take away in Gort that will deliver food orders to the house for a fee of €5. The Gort Golf Club is just a mile away, and has a beautiful 18 hole competition course, plus a clubhouse where you can get a drink and snacks.

  • I stayed at Amanda's 3 nights. Each evening, she had a lovely fire already burning for me in the fireplace when I got "home". She asked if I wanted her 3 kitties to have access to my room, which was very agreeable to me, as all were friendly. Breakfast was whatever I wanted, including eggs from her own hens. Tea and coffee service was "help yourself whenever", which I liked. It was great having a private sitting room to go along with my loft bedroom. Everything about the house was charming, and Amanda was a warm and gracious hostess, who made time to chat with me, and even invited me to accompany her on an outing one morning. Would highly recommend to anyone not mobility impaired, as there are stairs.

    Donna2016-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very lovely stay at Amanda's place. The house was amazing! With a cosy fire place. Amanda made sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend staying here! Also, there were cute cats.

Our house is located in a quiet rural area 5 miles outside Gort. With us, you have plenty of space to relax: outside in the garden or in our cosy house. In the morning you can enjoy a generous breakfast with mainly organic products.
The house is in a very quiet and peaceful location. With the two bedrooms there is space for 4 people. On the farm there is also a wooden cabin that sleeps three. There is great emphasis on nice organic fresh food; a lot of it is produced on the farm or fairly traded.
  • Beautiful property set back in the Irish countryside - a wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. Our host was very hospitable and made us feel welcome right away. We had a pleasant evening curled up by the fire with a glass of wine, sharing stories about traveling. A hard place to find on a map (definitely got lost!) but worth the trip. Wish we had more time to enjoy the property.

    Eliane2015-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • The b&b is deep in the countryside, which means not too easy to find, but it's worth it once you do! Joseph and his wife were wonderful hosts, very welcoming: we immediately felt at ease. The breakfast is wonderful, gave us plenty of energy for the approx. 1 hr drive to reach the cliffs of Moher. Recommended!

    Giuseppe2015-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • What a gorgeous, friendly, and inspiring couple. Josef (and his wife Helga) and I shared some great conversations along with some of the best and freshest meals I have ever had while traveling. I cannot say enough about the beauty of the natural surroundings and the charm of the house. I recommend talking to them more about some of their amazing work and projects. Staying at the farmhouse was truly a dream, and I wish I could have stayed longer. You really just have to see it for yourself. Their warm hospitality is second to none, and I hope to come back again soon!

    Maria2014-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • I loved their very warm hospitality, relaxed natural attitude and the general vibe about the place. They are very kind, caring people and an absolute pleasure to stay with. We had wine one evening and a beer the next, very generous and hospitable. I’ll be back!

    Aidan2018-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Josef and Helga are lovely people who will make you feel most welcome, at ease and comfortable in their home - they really care, and it shows. I slept like a log, and in the morning enjoyed a very tasty breakfast that included locally produced honey, and the last of Josef's own-grown tomatoes in my "full Irish" breakfast. Though it was the end of October, it was a beautiful day and Josef showed me around their small farm, including the cabin that they also rent out, which has a small kitchen, and (not mentioned in the listing) an optional (and odour free) composting toilet available behind it - as an alternative to, or in addition to, the more normal facilities available in the house. I left feeling like I'd visited (new) "old friends", and I'll be going back to stay with them again!

    Stephen2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • My second stay here. It is the hosts that make this little gem so special. Josef and his wife are very kind, patient people and create a lovely atmosphere. The breakfast is so healthy and delicious and it is such a peaceful house to stay in. Thanks again Josef.

There was a great welcome pack on arrival (lots of food for a yummy breakfast!) and Liam and his son were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Kyle2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • First and foremost, our stay in Una and Liam's cottage was, by far, the best AirBNB experience we have ever had. They truly epitomize Ireland's enduring culture of hospitality, and we felt as if we were staying with old friends or family. They are wonderfully kind people, and having a chance to meet them is reason alone to book your stay here! The cottage is an easy drive to Galway City, the Cliffs of Moher, The Burren, and other attractions in Counties Clare and Galway, and along the Wild Atlantic Way. But you also get a sense of the "real Ireland" with a quick drive into the local towns of Gort and Kilbeacanty, where there is everything you need for your stay, from a variety of pubs (we recommend Hennellys), to a butcher, grocers, restaurants, and even a hurling field. The cottage itself is in a very private location, surrounded by farm fields, hedges, and wooded areas, so your view of the stars at night is spectacular. Una and Liam keep the house spotlessly clean. It has a full kitchen with everything necessary to prepare a meal, and we'd highly recommend stopping at the local butcher in town to grab some local Irish Beef Steaks, a Leg of Lamb, or all the fixings for a proper Irish Breakfast; there is also a propane grill outside for those steaks! There is a wood burning stove indoors that provides just enough heat to stave off a damp chill, along with great ambiance for relaxing, reading, and enjoying a 'Irish Coffee' before bedtime. The bedrooms are comfortable, the bathrooms roomy, the washing machine a huge help (especially if you have kids) and pretty much every amenity you can think of has been provided. The WiFi works great, and is a big help, as cell reception throughout the countryside can be spotty. Speaking of children, this is a great choice if you are traveling with them. There is ample space to run around, and the farm's cows, just steps from the cottage, provide endless entertainment for the 'wee ones'. If they (or you) also have an interest in getting a sense of Gaelic Sport, Una and Liams sons all play hurling (one is actually a new GAA champ!) and they are more than happy to explain the sport to you, so show you up to the local field. In closing, we cannot recommend this location enough, and would give it 20 stars if that were an option. You will leave considering your stay here one of your best travel experiences, ever.

  • Enjoyed a wonderful week in Una and Liams house in Gort. A great house for exploring the west and convenient to a whole host of attractions including Galway city. Una and Liam were wonderful hosts and ever ready with help and suggestions, if needed. The kids loved the countryside, learning to drive a tractor and the roaring fire in the evenings.

  • Staying at Una and Liam's airbnb was a fabulous experience. The interactions that we had with their family were truly special as Una and Liam went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and to develop a friendship with us. They gave excellent recommendations about places to see in the area and they were excellent company. Some of us even got to experience the local farm work! The location of the home is excellent. It is a five-minute drive into the small town of Gort and close to a main road that gave us easy access to explore a lot of Western Ireland. We spent time in the Burren, the Cliffs of Moher, Galway, and the Maam Valley. The home is comfortable and warm and had everything we needed to be happy, but I would not consider this as a luxury home, if that is what you are looking for. There is internet at the house, but it is quite slow. We have very fond memories of our time spent in Gort and would highly recommend this airbnb!

  • If you want to experience the the silent beauty of nature in Ireland then the cottage of Una and Liam is the place to be! The cottage is located 1 hour drive away to Galway and to the Cliffs of Moher in a peaceful and quiet surrounding. The cottage itself is extraordinarily well equipped, especially the kitchen. We spent St. Patrick's weekend at Una's and Liam's place with 5 people and we enjoyed cooking dinner together and having dinner in front of the fireplace very much. The bedrooms are cosy and designed with lots of love to single details. Una and Liam are incredible and very lovely hosts. Whenever we had questions they answered and helped us immediately. Thank you so much. Our stay with you felt like spending a holiday at home! :-) Hope to be back soon!

Bonne conexion Wi-Fi.

Wonderfully comfortable thatched cottage near The Burren in County Galway / Clare border... Great base to explore the Wild Atlantic Way, The Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands or relive history at Coole Park in the footsteps of poet W.B.Yeats and The Lady Gregory... Retreat from the hustle and bustle in front of a log fire in this magical house - 5 minutes from a lively pub down the road and a short drive to the sea. We return always feeling 10 years younger!
This gorgeous three bedroom cottage sleeps 6 people with two bathrooms (one shower and one bath). The sitting room has the most comfortable sofa in the world and a real log fire which is the heart of the home. The kitchen has granite work tops, a table that seats 6 and all mod cons (washing machine/dish washer). The garden has luminous green grass and it's a delight to eat al fresco.
We are near The Burren in County Galway. It is one of the most beautiful walking zones in the world. Cottage is 12 miles from the sea. 30 minute drive to Shannon airport or to the great shops in Galway City. Nearby activities are: Golf; fishing; horse-riding; yoga or drinking great Guiness at "Wheelan's" our local pub - also famous for their Irish music evenings The nearest town is Gort but it is easy to visit Kinvarra; Ennis; Connemara; Doolan; Galway etc...and Dublin with the new motorway is accessible in 2 hours by car.
  • Superbe cottage très cosy et personnalisé

  • We had a wonderful weekend in Studio City in Attyfineen . we really enjoyed our weekend get- together... this charming house is full of character yet providing all the comforts any guest would require for a peaceful retreat in the beautiful Burren countryside. We will be recommending it . Thank you Sascha. The Women on their annual tour.

  • Where to begin? The house is lovely and looks just like the pictures. Tony and Jo are the caretakers for Sasha and they were fantastic to deal with and gave us excellent pointers for day trips. The surrounding neighborhoods were very pleasant and were always kind to give suggestions for local attractions as well. We had four people in the home for the majority of the 12 day stay and my son joined us for the last three days. The house served us well and we did not feel cramped. The house was very centrally located for our needs. Not much we wanted to do that took us longer than 45 minutes of travel. If you get a chance visit Finnerty's Pub near Tubber and tell them Kelly from America sent you. Jerry will give you a free bag of crisps 😉. He can also give you a lift home if you'd had too much to drink. 🍺 We'll be returning next year and hope to stay again. Lovely home with lovely hosts! Cheers 🍻 and hers to visiting again soon! Kelly

  • Wonderful country cottage! As four ladies traveling, it was a nice change to have the whole house and be together! Lovely area, so country, walks, peaceful. Nice neighbors as well. Bring dinner when you get in as you will not want to go out- nearest town a drive. Be sure to have directions to find it as it is remote- which is exactly what we wanted! Lovely place and Sasha is great.

    Elizabeth2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was an amazing find! So many charming things about it, I'm not sure I can even capture them all in a review. We were a little worried about finding it, but that turned out to not be a problem at all… We were asked to call Tony the caretaker to let him know when we were nearby, and then he just drove out and met us at the petrol station and we followed him in. The drive to the cottage was our first clue that this was going to be special… The roads are like driving through a lush green tunnel. Tony stopped couple of times at intersections to let us know which direction to go for what, so we could orient ourselves. It was definitely helpful to have a GPS… I just marked our spot on my iPhone GPS map and we were able to find our way around the area and back to our cottage with no problem. But you'll do fine without one. The cottage itself is just charming! It's quite old, and of course the thatched roof adds to the old world ambiance. It's furnished with antiques...you feel as though you stepped back in time the moment you step inside. The fireplace was all set up for us to have a lovely fire, which we did and enjoyed (Website hidden by Airbnb) romantic! There are two comfy bedrooms with double beds downstairs, but the surprise is the huge room upstairs, with a king bed, large bathroom, and shower with instant hot water. The kitchen is outfitted with all you need to cook anything, which we prefer when on vacation as constantly eating out gets to be old after a while (and expensive). You won't need to stop at the market before arrival though...everything we needed for our first breakfast was there for us! Six eggs, delicious Irish brown bread, butter, milk, homemade jam, coffee, tea...what a lovely touch! Everything works. Just be aware this is not a brand new flat with all modern (Website hidden by Airbnb) a well loved, lived-in cottage in the midst of lovely farmland. Even the neighbors add to the charm...a couple of them stopped by to chat and wish us well when they saw us outside, and the horse across the street came by to whinny at us as well. The location is perfect if you plan on doing some touring...a nice loop will get you to Ennis (fabulous pubs), Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, Kinvarra, and more. The drive back to Dublin and the airport was easy, on major motorways. We hope to come back someday, and we will want to stay here again!

    LeeAnne2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is a magical place, an idyllic retreat in the beautiful countryside. We lost ourselves there over the long weekend. It was so relaxing to not even hear a car, and the only noise at night were our snores. I would highly recommend Sascha's beautiful cottage for a relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of life. Tastefully decorated with lots of homely touches, we really loved our stay, and our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. The local pub Whelan's was a great find, and everyone there so friendly. If you are looking for a truly authentic Irish experience, then book this bolthole. To top it all of, it's also dog-friendly which meant I could bring my two Labradors on holidays too. So it's a ten out of ten from me. Lots of nearby beaches like Kinvara or Ballyvaughan to let the pooches splash around too. I will definitely come back again sometime. Thank you for sharing a truly magical place.

The house is situated on a quiet little road, about 4 miles from the picturesque village of Kinvara. The road is a cul-de-sac with a derelict castle and a lake at the end. Nice for a quiet walk on a dry day. Behind the house is a little forest housing many types of birds which can be heard early in the morning. Room 3 is a twin bedroom but can also be a double room. It's on the right looking at the house from the front. All bedrooms are facing west.
All guest rooms are located on the upper floor with dormer windows out the front. They are all around 20m2 in size. The spacious guest bathroom is also located on the upper floor. The landing area with it's sitting area, ironing board etc, the large sitting room as well as the dining room are open to all guests. On a nice day you may enjoy your breakfast outside on the patio.
This is most interesting to anyone looking for a quiet place to stay but not without the option of a lively night out.

• Long driveway, big open kitchen, views of fields and cows, massive bathroom, wooden floorboards ... What an amazing house! The photos highlight the space but don't capture the feeling, which is one of calm and tranquility. The house has a lived in feel - like staying at a friends who had gone away for a while. We happily stayed in Angela's house for three nights. The supermarket is a few mins drive away and had everything we could reasonably need. It is perfectly located - 1 hr to the Cliffs, 45 mins to Galway, 30 mins to Ennis. You would need to drive to get to a pub or restaurant for dinner, but only a few minutes (or bravely walk the road for 15-20 mins). Angela was very responsive on email, Niamh was just lovely and showed us around the house, and John the caretaker made sure we were all ok. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it, particularly for families with young kids (2 and 4 yrs old) like ours.

Check in and check out was easy and convenient. Angela was prompt with all of her communications. Quiet residential location, just outside of Gort, which has all the local amenities you would need. Convenient for sightseeing, golf, etc. Would highly recommend!

  • We loved the easy access to various scenic paths and sites along the Wild Atlantic Way. The convenience of being near the charming town of Gort and historical Coole Park. Angela's home is lovely and sits in a beautiful green setting. It is, also, an easy distance to Galway. Lastly and best of all is the kind lady Niamh who coordinates things and helps you out if you need it. Hope we will have the opportunity to visit again. Brian & Holly

  • I can't begin to describe how perfect of a home it is. The moment I walked in the door I got goosebumps, because it truly is that stunning. There were seven of us, including two 10 month old babies, and there was plenty of room. There is a grocery store near by and top notch appliances to make delicious meals. The town is quaint and charming; we made friends with almost everyone! It was super close to some beautiful attractions, including the Cliffs. I would recommend in heartbeat.

  • We enjoyed our stay at Kate's place. She greeted us with champagne and snacks to help us celebrate our honeymoon! We greatly appreciated that. The area this house is in is lovely. It's a private nice place to stay.

  • My girlfriend and I ended up staying at Kate's place for about three months, and I must say that it was one of the best AirBnB experiences I've ever had. The property itself is incredible, with lots of trees, flowers, open land, beautiful skylines, and multiple fields filled at times with groups of adorable baby cows (we had fun creating names for all of them too). We stayed in the studio portion of Kate's property, and were quite comfortable throughout our stay. It's a cozy, private spot that had everything we needed, including plenty of options for cooking. A bicycle on property was perfect for riding down to the market, or simply for enjoyable jaunts around the neighborhood and to Coole Park. As for Kate, she is an exceptional host that warmly welcomed us into her home. She was always happy to share her knowledge of Ireland, as well as continuingly striving to make our stay more enjoyable and comfortable. She is a very genuine person, and we greatly enjoyed the time we got to spend with her. We definitely would stay at Kate's place again whenever we make our way back to Ireland!

  • All-in-one : nanny, tourist guide, cab driver and friend. This awesome place is located outside de city, ideal for those who are looking for a quiet and silent place to rest and be in touch with nature....or if they don't and want to be in the city, Kate will always give her help and tips!. It really seems that she likes to receive guests at her place: supportive, kind and nice talker, treated us as her friends. Thank u very much Kate! Please do never change!.

  • This was my second visit to Crann Mór and I truly feel at home each time I'm there. I could stay here for much longer sinking into the comforts the space provides and enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Burren and the coastline. Kate is such a thoughtful and caring host exemplifying the highly valued Irish tradition of hospitality in every way! Looking forward to my return already.

  • Kate is a great host, very helpfully and easy to communicate. Place clean and cosy, in the middle of nowhere, which is great, local village is just 5 minutes drive, there you can find a pub, couple of restaurants and some shops.

  • Sharon and her husband were very accommodating. Nice location and would recommend it for anyone who wants to visit the west of Ireland.

    Sarah2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We were in Fanore, Ireland on Friday night and we needed a place to stay on Saturday, thank God we found Sharon's place, even though I wrote her late at night, she managed to write back and let us stay in her place. The house is in Kilmacduagh, a very quiet town which is perfect to relax and enjoy nature. When we arrived, Sharon and her husband welcomed us and kindly showed us where we would stay. The room was clean and fancy decorated, very cozy, the bed was big enough for two people, the bathroom and the shower were also clean, we had an electric heater and Sharon offered us coffee, tea and apples, which was really nice of her. At the next day we continued our road trip and Sharon recommended us what to visit next, and that was the cemetery in Gort, it was worth the visit. We really enjoyed our night at the apartment, if you visit the west of Ireland you should definitely stay at Sharon's, you won't regret it.

  • Great location in the Gort countryside. Sharon and her husband were wonderful hosts!

    Candice2018-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • This spot was such an absolute gem. Pictures do not do this place justice. The surrounding area is beautiful and Sharon and her husband couldn’t have been better hosts. They made us feel welcomed, provided plenty of excellent recommendations on things to do, and went above and beyond on hospitality. We honestly wish we had booked all our nights at the Old School House as we loved our stay that much. We will make sure to stay here again on our next visit to Ireland.

  • Teresa's place is absolutely perfect. It has everything you need, a full working Kitchen, central heating and two double beds. There are stunning views out every window and the area is very peaceful. Teresa met us in the local town and took us from there. The apartment is set up with everything you need including food and wine, which was very nice. If you need anything else Teresa is nearby and happy to help. Next time I go to Galway I know where I'm staying.

  • We had a lovely stay at Teresas place. The house was big, warm, clean and private with all necessary equipment. The view is wild and beautiful. Ideal as a base for 3 or more days, round trips to Connemara, Moher, The Burren, Clonmacnaise, Birr and other places. Teresa and her family where very very helpful and friendly. Thank You again! Highly recommended!

  • Teresa was a wonderful host. She picked us up from a central location in Gort to prevent us from getting lost. Once we arrived at her annexe, we realized it was one of the nicest places we'd ever stayed. The grounds are breathtaking; the apt itself is immaculate and extremely comfortable. She prepared the loveliest meal for us hungry travelers and made sure we were comfortable with everything. Would highly recommend this to anyone. PS, to stay here you will need a car to get around ie Cliffs of Moher, Galway

  • Josef and Helga are wonderful hosts and did everything possible to make us feel welcome and enjoy our stay. They made us, including our 3yr old, feel right at home. Josef had great advice and information on sightseeing ideas and the breakfast he made was great. The location is secluded and peaceful, great for a relaxing getaway. We enjoyed walking around the farm and seeing all the animals and activities.

    Hein2016-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • I had a fantastic stay with Josef and Helga, the whole experience was really good. The breakfast was amazing with freshly picked strawberries from the garden and the green tomato jam was my favourite .

Room 2 is the bedroom in the middle looking at the house from the front.
