  • Robert was very quick to respond to my questions prior to booking the space. It's an older home and has been completely renovated. The space is bright, spacious and spotless! We needed a space to accommodate our family of 4 and we ended up with the entire main floor to ourselves. The rooms were not adjoining but were side-by-side which was perfect. We had the washroom to ourselves and the shower was amazing! We also had access to the main floor living room/kitchen so we could spread out a bit. The room with the murphy bed had a deck off of it which could be enjoyed, overlooking green space. The beds were very comfy. The home is located close to the town of Haliburton, about a 5 minute walk, and Robert was helpful in providing some suggestions for dinner. His place was easy to find, right on one of the main streets and it is conveniently located if you have an event at Sir Sam's, which we did. It was less than 15 minutes away. You get a bit of noise from the street but I didn't find this to be a drawback. We also asked for a space to lock up our bikes and Robert was quick to accommodate. He was there to greet us at an agreed upon time and gave us a quick tour of the space. The breakfast is simple: bagels, fruit, cereal, yogurt and you can help yourself whenever you're ready which worked well for us as we had to be out pretty early. I would recommend this property and I would stay here again in the future without hesitation.

  • The place and host were both amazing! Robert was great with regards to check in time as we were a little sporadic duento the weather. Everything is very well organized and clean in the house and he gave us a tour when we got here! I will definitely be looking to do another ski trip up here and hopefully booking again!

  • My friend and I were in town for a wedding at the Bonnie View Inn and Robert's home was the perfect location for our stay in Haliburton. The beds are comfortable and it was lovely to have access to a sunny porch in the morning. Robert is a kind and accommodating host and very communicative before/throughout our stay. Parking, wifi and breakfast included were also much appreciated. The house is a short walk up to the main part of town with a grocery store, pharmacy and restaurants.

  • So Beautiful small town,my family just stay one night,we arrived late,Robert was so nice, drive to Algonquin park about one hour. it's a nice place if you have good neighbors.

  • Rob was really welcoming & quick to respond to messages. My partner & I ended up in town earlier than we anticipated and he let us check in early. When I mentioned that we hoped to go biking he showed up with two bikes free of charge. The house was clean and quiet & a gorgeous old home! Definitely would recommend staying here. The location is also great, just a short walk to downtown Haliburton.

We're located just 3 km from the centre of the town of Haliburton. Here's a short list of the many attractions in the area. Sir Sams [18 km] Sir Sams ski area now has an 1100' covered lift that can transport 2000 skiers per hour up the hill. Nordic cross-country ski trails [5 km] Make friends with winter - a great set of cross country trails just a few minutes from the centre of town. Haliburton Forest [21 km] This huge tract of privately held land was rescued from an oblivion of exploitation and has become one of the world's earliest and finest examples of how to rebuild a forest and make a buck at the same time. Home of an amazingly diverse set of attractions, including dogsledding, snowmobiling, the Walk in the Clouds canopy tour and the wolf centre, camplng, fishing, trails for walking, biking, an astronomical observatory and... a submarine! Unfortunately the sub is now grounded, apparently because the government can't figure out how to regulate it. Sculpture Forest [5 km] A wonderful little walk in the woods in the presence of a diverse collection of spirits. Haliburton Highlands Water Trails Approximately 28,000 + hectares of provincial and municipal public lands comprised of countless lakes, rivers, trails and continuous forest, including the Leslie Frost Centre. Algonquin Park [56 km to access point 15 at Kingscote Lake, 95 km to the west gate] Does it need any introduction? It's a huge park and you can easily spend a week or more there, at various levels of engagement. Kingscote Lake at access point 15 is a great place for a day of canoeing and swimming. A quick sampler, and a personal favourite, is a short canoe trip up the Oxtounge River to Ragged Falls, accessible from the western border of the park. A canoe can be rented at the point of entry, no need to transport it on wheels. Wintergreen [21 km] Spring's magical elixer, the quintessential Canadian food - get some and see it in production at Wintergreen. Wind in the Willows Spa [11 km] Tune up your body with a massage, facial, pedicure, manicure... Harmony Farm [43 km] A great place to eat or to pick up gourmet food on the way up to Haliburton. The Art Hive A local Artist/Artisan Collective located on highway 118 between Carnarvon and Haliburton. Kinmount Theatre [41 km] Not your typical movie theatre - this has to be the funkiest cinema in the world, a theatre, cinema museum and art piece. Worth the price of admission just to take a tour of the film paraphernalia. See if you can figure out how they managed to get five theatres with 550 seats in there. Haliburton Highlands Trails and Tours Network Haliburton has an extensive network of hiking and biking trails. Yours Outdoors Yours Outdoors offers unique learning vacations and outdoor adventures that explore the rich natural and cultural heritage of Haliburton County. Yours Outdoors packages are original, engaging, enlightening, and will connect you with communities and the great outdoors. Kayaking on the Gull River [26 km] A favourite training ground for the whitewater crowd. Dorset Lookout Tower [58] This 82 ft. high Tower as a forest fire lookout provides a 310 square mile viewing radius of the surrounding highlands.
  • We had a very nice stay at Maple abour ! Everything was very clean, the heater and bakeoven were perfect for the season. We made delicious home made pizza. I will strongly recommend this place if you want to visit around or if you plan to do dog sledding in Haliburton forest.

  • This place was amazing. The pizza oven is great! It is close and convenient for all activities yet secluded enough to have your own privacy. The place has all of the amenities you need. It is only about a 1/2 hour drive to the Forest Reserve which has some beautiful hikes and amazing lakes. I definitely recommend this place to others.

  • I spent a week in late- October at Maple Arbour. The place is very comfortable and well appointed. Though there are neighbours, there's privacy and one is close to Haliburton for the odd errand or excursion. The masonry heater, with pizza oven, was a welcome addition. I had family and friends up over the course of 6-days and all thoroughly enjoyed their stay.

  • Great place to stay that is tucked away on the hill in Haliburton. It's right next to town but feels very isolated. The house itself is beautiful and modern, and Paul is very responsive and happy to help. Would recommend!

    Phillip2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's place is a hidden gem! 5 mins from the beautiful town of Haliburton we had everything at our fingertips. Going for walks and seeing deer, to sipping tea on the deck or baking pizzas in the oven! I highly recommend Paul's place and can't wait to go back!

  • The cottage was very quiet and modern looking with great big ceilings and a very cosy living room with a wood burning fire place. The kitchen has everything you need and the entire atmosphere of the place was very comfortable. Kerwin was very accommodating and quick to respond to all my messages. I would definitely stay at the cottage again. Great for couples getting away and even big family getaways. Also important to note that it was really close to town so it made getting groceries and gas very quick and easy.

Wildwood Farm is just outside Haliburton Village, 3 hours from downtown Toronto. An 1870’s farmstead has been gradually converted to a 300-acre forest wildlife preserve. The Apartment is a spacious open plan. It feels cozy thanks to century-old wood, original art and natural light. Your hosts will extend every effort to make your stay delightfully memorable.
The queen size bed has a choice of feather duvet or light comforter. Extra pillows and individual lamps for reading in bed. So many places to sit or kick back . . . huge couch, reclining reading chair, antique pine writing desk, three cafe tables - in main room, sunroom, outside (weather permitting). Haliburton chairs on a covered deck overlook the meadow. Light meal prep is possible although there is no actual kitchen. A servery corner is equipped with dishes, glasses, cutlery and common utensils. Appliances: microwave. toaster. kettle. automatic coffeemaker. A cooler chest substitutes for a fridge. Dishes can be washed up at a station in front of a forest-view window.
Haliburton Village offers all kinds of arts, music, cultural events and summer festivals. In all seasons, it's beautiful to explore the Wildwood. With the right clothing and footwear, even walking in the rain is lovely here!
  • Pamela and Hugh are gracious hosts and have an incredibly lovely space, the photos do not capture how spacious and airy the room is, while still maintaining the cozy rustic charm you'd expect from cottage country. The grounds are incredible and we were greeted by deer and various other wild critters when we stepped out the front door to look at the stars. Highly recommended accommodation.

  • The apartment was nicely decorated and had a very cozy atmosphere. The location was beautiful and very quiet - it was a great place to get away and relax. We appreciated the little touches done by Pamela and Hugh such as giving us a delicious bar of chocolate as a welcome gift. Pamela and Hugh were very accommodating but also gave us the privacy we wanted. This was a great place to stay and is highly recommended!

The Eagle's Nest is named after the owners' childhood home in Cape Town, South Africa. Today, The Eagle's Nest is a cottage the owner built with his wife to share with their three girls. The main floor consists of an open concept kitchen, large screened-in porch, family room, 2 bed & 2 bath with most rooms looking out onto the lake through the wooded, private lot. There is a loft with pull out sofa and a lower level consisting of 2 bed & 1 bath, a rec and laundry room. 5 minutes from town.
Beautiful winterized cottage with gas fireplace and amazing views on a private lot. 150' of waterfront with shallow and deep water access. There is a canoe and single person kayak for your use and a dock if you wish to bring your boat.
A 5 minute drive to Haliburton Village and 20 minutes to Sir Sam's ski hill.
  • We were at the cottage over last weekend. We were group of 10 ppl who had enough space to live.house was very clean. Accessible easily from road.few feets away from personal dock on drag lake.great basment with very specious bathroom. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a cottage for a large group.

  • The cottage has a great location being so close to town and it on a beautiful lake. The cottage was even nicer than it looked online and was a pleasure to stay in. If you are planning on bringing a boat beware as this end of the lake is very shallow for boats although it does open up a little farther down. Would definitely stay again!

  • A great opportunity to be on a beautiful lake in a very spacious cottage. We enjoyed our stay at the Eagle's nest

    Adam2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent view of the lake. Canoes and kayaks were in great condition, they also provide life jackets which was a huge upside. A limited supply of towels were provided in the event you forget to bring one. All in all, it was a great experience!

    Andrew2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful cottage with an amazing floor to ceiling view of the backyard and the lake. Even though the neighbors aren't far away, you have excellent privacy; sitting in the living room you feel like you're in a secluded forest. Bobby&Marie made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. They also let us use their canoe and kayak for trips out on the lake. I would highly recommend their place to any group looking for a relaxing weekend by the lake.

    Alkas2017-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place with lots of room. There were 7 of us and there was plenty of room for us all to be together or have a quiet time. Screened in porch was a second dinning room for meals and board games! Fabulous selection of board games (including Trivial Pursuits)! Quiet neighbors and not much motor boat traffic on the lake which was perfect for swimming off the deck. Kayak and canoe with lots of sizes of lifejackets. Even though it was hot outside (27C) the place is in the shade which keeps it cool inside. Thanks for sharing your place!

    Miye2017-07-20T00:00:00Z

  • Bobby & Marie's place is incredibly spacious and completely accommodating with everything from a full set of dishes and cooking ware to a seemingly endless supply of board games. Our large group fit easily. Bobby was always available to be contacted, replied promptly, and was very informative in our correspondence! I would recommend this cottage to anyone and we hope we are able to make the trip again next year!

Excellente experience, on recommande chaudement.

  • We really enjoyed our brief stay at Daniel's cabin. Daniel was communicative and friendly about coordinating our arrival time. The cabin was outfitted with everything we needed for the weekend and the wifi/Apple TV was appreciated on a rainy afternoon. Our small dog had a blast sniffing around the property and the lake. There is a road that runs between the cabin and the lake, which I didn't realize from the listing, but in our case this wasn't a problem as we were able to keep our dog contained to certain areas. The dock gets lovely morning sun and the lake was a great temperature for swimming (and I'm someone who is averse to cold water). The mini-fridge held everything we needed for our two days there and we even had the opportunity to make an outdoor fire in the firepit. All in all a great trip, we would just go for longer next time :)

    Kate2015-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time enjoying this cozy one-room cabin. Daniel and Colin were extremely helpful and attentive- but only as needed- otherwise we had complete privacy. I'd definitely go back. The dock was focal point to sit, relax and swim. Tip for other guests- Have some flexibility with your meals in regards to the preparation needed. We chose to have sandwiches and salads for some meals if it was raining (you can only cook outside on the BBQ and burner). This added an extra sense of 'roughing' it and we had planned accordingly (and loved it!).

    Brent2015-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed one night and had a fantastic stay! The cabin is small, but cozy and very clean. It had everything we needed - we certainly appreciated the BBQ and patio. Even though it's located close to larger cottages, it's has enough privacy and you can walk just 2 minutes to access their pretty dock with chairs to relax. It was nice to communicate and meet Daniel, who was proactive and helpful. I would definitely go back for a fun cottage getaway weekend close to Haliburton.

    Christiane2014-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • The fireplace inside was ready to light and it wasn't a problem when we asked if we could make a fire in the firepit outside. Daniel even made it ready so that we could light it, after we went out for a while. This place is ideal for a couple, they make an effort to give you the fealing that your totally on your own. We really enjoyed the dock by sitting on the relax chairs, swimming and canoeing. I'd deffinitly would recommand Russel Red Guest House to others.

  • Had a great time staying at Daniel's place. Very nice, quiet cabin, on a great lake in Haliburton - also, it is a short drive from the village of Haliburton which is nice. Daniel's dock on the lake is very nice. Daniel was very helpful - we missed the closing of the local liquor store and Daniel helped us with directions to another location that had later hours.

  • Daniel is awesome. Such a nice guy, helpful, polite and a good sense of humour. We always feel so comfortable there because they are friendly enough to make you feel comfortable, but also give you your space to relax. Always accessible by text so it's helpful. We love to relax there by going on a nice walk along the water, sitting on the dock with a cup of coffee, reading on the deck, preparing meals, going out for dinner (we recommend Rhubarb-nice view), and bingewatching tv (they have Crave, Netflix, lots of iTunes movies). It is the perfect getaway! I would say it would be good for about a week because after a while you might want to access to a stovetop. However, since putting in the countertop you really have everything you need for a while: coffee press/keurig, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, bbq. It's great! The only negative I can say about the place is the shower pressure could be a bit stronger...honestly, I'm reaching now. We have been there in the summer and winter. Both are lovely. Highly recommend!

  • Daniel was an excellent host. He made us feel right at home and was extremely friendly. The fire was already going when we arrived and the cabin had everything we needed for our stay. He gave us a tour of the place and answered all of our questions. The neighbourhood was lovely (especially with the fall colours) and was only a short drive away from town.

  • We were in Haliburton for a friend's wedding, and staying at Gena's was the perfect retreat from the weekend's activities. The space itself is simply lovely, and being surrounded by nature didn't hurt either. ;) Gena is an excellent hostess. She left us a welcome note upon our arrival and we enjoyed a delicious homemade breakfast (she definitely has a knack for the culinary arts) on Sunday morning. The perfect start to our day! Thank you, Gena!

  • This was my first experience with Airbnb, and Gena set the bar very high! Gena is very kind, thoughtful, and flexible... She always responded to any of my questions very quickly, and she really thought of everything one might need while staying at her place, be it items or information/ instructions. (Check out the places of interest she has marked on the map.) She also prepared an excellent breakfast you should not miss out on!! The place itself is on a beautiful, well taken care of property. The apartment is cozy and very clean. I absolutely loved how quiet it was, and I look forward to coming back in the winter!

  • Gena was an amazing host! Her place is stunning, located in a serene environment perfect for relaxation. We loved the fireplace for cozy chats, the pond for quiet reflection and the surrounding area is great for walks. We spent the morning watching the hummingbirds in the garden as we enjoyed a fabulous breakfast. I couldn't have imagined a better place to stay! Thank you for sharing your space with us.

  • Gena's place was a great oasis in the heart of Haliburton county. We stayed for two nights while doing some dogsledding nearby and we always felt wonderful coming home to a real fireplace, and comfortable, cozy atmosphere. Gena provided breakfasts for us that tasted delicious.

The little Piece of Paradise cottage is located on Paradise Lake (Haas Lake on a map), about 5 km out of the main town, Haliburton where there is Fleming College, School of the Arts, Sir Sam's Ski and Bike, Stores, Shops, and Restaurants.
The Cottage has 20 feet of lake access and is a short 1 minute walk to the dock. The cottage property is an "L" shape and has a small lane-way separating the waterfront property to the cottage. There is a private dock to enjoy, a paddleboat, row boat, canoe, and kayak to enjoy the lake. There is a ladder to get into the water from the dock. Since it's a smaller lake the water is usually very warm all summer long, so great for swimming!! The waterfront is not sandy and there are weeds so for swimming we recommend using a floaty or the ladder and avoid touching the bottom. 5 km from the main town of Haliburton which has: Foodland, The Independent, Gas Stations, Restaurants (some include Subway, 2-4-1 Pizza, 2 Pub Style Restaurants, Breakfast Places (The Kozy Korner, the Donut Shop), Shops, Gas Stations, LCBO, The Beer Store, Jug City, Shoppers Drug Mart, Rexall, etc. Sir Sam's Ski and Bike is about 22 km from the cottage.
The lane-way that the cottage is located on is very quiet and the lake is also usually quiet with few motor boats. The highway is close to the cottage but separated by forest so there is some road noise from traffic in the distance.
  • A little piece of paradise is just that... the cottage was so clean and comfortable with all the conveniences of home. The welcome gift in the fridge was very thoughtful thanks Laura & Heiko

  • We were pleasantly surprised how nice and bright Laura's cottage was inside. We have stayed in a number of cottages over the years and the beds are usually saggy. Laura's cottage have good beds. We did not roll to the centre or feel like we were in a hammock. Haliburton is only a 10 minute drive and has a good selection of stores. It is a nice quiet lake. We would definitely return again.

  • The host is very nice and she cares about my staying experience so much. I can find everything I ever need during my stay. Many items are even better than what I use at home. Room is tidy, floor is clean. I think the host and her husband are very organized and neat person. The location of this cottage is also great, quiet and convenient. Highly recommend.

  • A Little Piece of Paradise was a great little getaway! It was clean, host was very accessible and very relaxing atmosphere. The lake is fairly small and weedy but great for taking the paddle boat out and getting some sun :) Thanks for having us Laura! :)

    Laura2016-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was very relaxing and cozy. The inside was beautiful and we took advantage of the gazebo on the dock. We enjoyed eating on the porch and making fires. Laura was very helpful and easy to reach, but gave as much privacy as we desired.

    Linnea2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay and very relaxing few days at Laura's. The place was clean and perfect size, lots of room for 2. The kitchen was well equipped for our purposes. We BBQ'd most meals and there was lots of propane provided. The fire bowl was also great for enjoying the cool evenings. The covered shelter beside the dock with the L-shaped couch, was our favourite hang-out spot. The cottage is across a driveway from the water, but this was not an issue. It was close enough that it was not a pain to go back to the cottage if you forgot anything (about a 20 second walk). We enjoyed the canoe and paddle boat without any difficulties. As for location, it's a quick drive to haliburton if you need anything. We brought our bikes and found some nice paths and trails near by. The Internet did die one evening, Laura was quick to provide instructions on how to troubleshoot, our particular problem had never happened before apparently. We were there to enjoy the outdoors though and brought lots of books, so we didn't bother with this. Overall we're happy to have stayed here and it had everything we were looking for.

  • We were given exact detailed instructions on everything. House was exactly how the picture showed it. Everything was exactly how the host explained it to be.

The view from the living room while enjoying our morning coffee was great, and the lake at sunset was absolutely stunning. Highly recommended !

  • Marta's cottage is lovely and our family thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Our two-year-old loved playing in the shallow water and we took advantage of the child-friendly amenities such as baby gates, cribs, high chair, etc. Everything we needed was there from life jackets to firewood to olive oil. The cottage is rustic and would benefit from some minor maintenance and polishing to things like the deck and steps, but overall it's well decorated, comfortable, and fairly priced. Unfortunately, the oven didn't work and as a result we quickly ran out of propane, but Marta was quick to respond and attentive to our needs. The cottage is very close to Haliburton (5-10 minutes), so there's easy access to groceries, shops and parks. Our advice for future guests would be to pack light and go into town after you get there to get whatever you need. We would visit again and recommend this listing to others. Thanks for having us.

  • Marta's cottage was absolutely lovely. It had the warm, rustic charm our family was looking for in a cottage. I would highly recommend the cottage for families of small children. We took our 1.5 year old and he had a great time in the sandbox and on the waterfront. Marta was also an excellent host - she was readily available by email, had clear communication and instructions, and took pride in her cottage (and it shows). This is a true gem in Haliburton. Would love to come back.

  • I, along with my friends, stayed at Margaret's cottage. Her place is beautifully decorated and very apt if you like to have a calm and peaceful time away from noisy city life. Margaret was very helpful - she welcomed us with wine and also gave us homemade delicious cake. Her place has a good backyard where you can chill, barbecue, etc. Her place is pretty close to a nearby kayaking / canoeing spot and also close the Haliburton town (few mins drive) which is a good town to explore. We look forward to stay at her place again soon. Thanks Margaret.

    Pankaj2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place was impeccably clean and tastefully decorated. Margaret was very welcoming and treated us to complementary tea, coffee, and wine. The cabin is located in a community, but the backyard was quiet, especially in comparison with downtown Toronto. The backyard looks out to the woods with a marsh, so we could hear frogs singing their evening songs. The location is relatively remote, yet convenient; grocery store and fast food not far (by car). The area is good for hiking and close to a ski hill. I would love to return next year.

  • Margaret's place was perfect for us. We were in the area for a wedding so the location was great. We had privacy but we were also close to the action. The suite was well equipped and my favourite .. Very cozy. Margaret made us feel so welcome. She was there when we needed her but was never 'in our faces'. One tiny nitpick-- we couldn't get the Keurig to work even though we followed the directions. Maybe we just needed to unplug it to reset it? I do that at home and it works. We highly recommend this little spot.

  • Margaret's place is a wonderful escape from the city. She was extremely helpful, kind and welcoming. Before we arrived she had printed out local events that she thought would interest us as well as a map of the local area and even welcomed us with a bottle of wine and snacks. When we asked her about Kayak rentals she arranged for us to rent from a local resort near her home so we didn't have to go into Halliburton and also let us use her BBQ and fresh lettuce from her garden for our dinner on Saturday. Her home is an amazing oasis in the woods and I would highly recommend this place to any person or couple looking to get away for a weekend - or longer. Thank you Margaret for an amazing weekend, we hope to come back soon!

  • The Wine Cellar was exactly as advertised. Beautiful, scenic spot, immaculately clean and super comfy. For a relaxing getaway it's perfect. It's also very close to the ski hill and I'm sure it's lovely in the winter. I will make a point of returning.

  • Incredibly friendly host and excellent communication throughout. The place was well equipped with everything we needed and more. The BBQ was an added bonus! We had a very comfortable stay and loved the location. It's not a waterfront property, however, there is access to a public beach nearby and the host helped us arrange a canoe/kayak rental and a day pass at Sir Sams's inn which was a huge benefit. We didn't want to leave!!!

  • Rick and I visited Margaret for a much needed weekend getaway. The one bedroom apartment is so charming with a mix of antiques, quirky accessories, and other cozy accents with contemporary comforts, so warm and private we felt at home immediately. Margaret is the perfect hostess. She recognized that arriving late and knowing Haliburton is locked up tight at 9pm we would appreciate all the more a cup of tea, and better a glass of wine, to go with the best orange marmalade and fresh bread I've ever had. The location is perfect. just off the main road enabling us to enjoy Haliburton's distinctive quiet, the fireflies, the many stars, and to breathe the unique fresh air and pine. The location is ideal for visitors who plan to bicycle or antique shop, or just hike the Highlands. The whole experience was extraordinarily therapeutic, happy, and relaxing. As an aside - the bed was so comfortable and the room itself was like a page out of Pioneer history 100 years ago, yet the bathroom was unbelievably contemporary and gorgeous! The delightful apartment's layout is perfect; private and appointed in a way so you can't help but feel pampered and comfortable straightaway. We were so happy to be there. Of course we will return. Thank you Margaret for an absolutely lovely experience. See you again soon. Rick and Tracey

  • My partner and I visited the Wine Cellar for the Canada day long weekend. The place is very charming and well decorated. Margaret was extremely accommodating and made us feel very welcomed. The Wine Cellar had everything we needed, and anything extra Margaret provided us without hesitation. We really enjoyed our stay.

Haliburton Cottage Overview: Our lovely Sky Cottage and Main Cottage combination would be perfect for the extended family looking for their privacy and yet in close proximity to one another. What makes our two cottages interesting is that they are both completely self-contained properties which includes full kitchen, bathrooms, Satellite TV, private docks, decks, propane barbeques, comfortable seating outside, Adirondack chairs, and the same great view of the lake. The cottages sits slightly above the lake with well-constructed stairs which are easy to navigate to the shoreline. At the main cottage there is a rather extensive dock and furnished shore deck for your lounging enjoyment. Main Cottage Description -- Your home away from home. Our large cozy main cottage has an open concept living room, dining room and kitchen with some attractive custom made furniture and antiques in a traditional cottage setting with wall to wall windows with a view of the lake. The living room includes a plush sofa and love seat set in front of our charming fireplace. The dining area features a custom built dining table to seat 6 in comfort. Sky Cottage Description -- Birds eye view The Sky Cottage is smaller than our main cottage but it is as equally as charming. It's "claim to fame" is its 2 large multistory decks with a view of the lake and the night sky. Stare up at the night sky or watch for birds such as woodpeckers, eagles, or blue jays fly by as you sip on a nice cold one. The Property: Our property is unique as we make it an effort to preserve the great Canadian Boreal Forest. We have mature Pine, Cedar, Maple, and Birch trees and a lot of wild edibles such as Wild Raspberries scattered throughout. We have resident Woodpeckers (Pileated woodpecker) and many other birds for you and your children to discover. We also have deer, foxes, wild turkey, grouse, and other cool animals that visit us. At night you can see and hear the call of the loon! Nearby you can also see turtles crossing the roads at night! The Lake This cottage is situated on Outlet Bay of Drag Lake which is a large lake and one of the great trout lakes of Haliburton County. You can fish right from our docks! Our waterfront is great for swimming as well. We have a natural beach area with a gradual slope into the water or just jump right off the dock and into the water. Outlet Bay is also perfect for canoeing, jet skiing, and paddle boarding as the water is calm with almost no current. Nearby by activities The cottage is within 10 minutes of historic Haliburton Village which has transformed itself into a picturesque tourist town. Haliburton Village has a large grocery store, LCBO, Beer store, various restaurants and fast food outlets, Irish Pub, Galleries, etc. There are many medical/dental/vet clinics as well as the Haliburton Hospital. You can also golf, go offroad ATV'ing, visit the Kwarthas Ice Cream Factory, and the Grey Wolf Sanctuary. If you are interested, please contact me. We hope to hear from you soon. A stay at our cottages will be something you nor your children will forget! Complete property no other guest when booked, ultimate privacy. I will be present at check in, will walk you through the property explaining where everything is and what is included in your booking and general rules about the property. Located 2km from the Town of Haliburton, but far enough to enjoy privacy. Guests can experience the relaxation and privacy at the Cottage or enjoy daily activities in Town. No public transportation but Taxis are available.

  • Sam was a fantastic host. He was waiting when we arrived and promptly showed us around the massive property. We had 15 people and everyone had plenty of space to be comfortable and parking was not an issue. The lake and surrounding area is also fantastic. Fishing was fun and the water was at a good temperature for this time of year (June). The property was equipped with just about anything we could need including a massive fire pit, BBQs, and the essentials. There are also grocery stores and most other shops no more than 10 minutes away. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a large cottage.

    George2015-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sam's place what we needed and what was expected. A great deck for hanging out by the lake, and the perfect spot for a big group by the fire. Sam was there to give us a tour of the place and to answer any of our questions.

    Cameron2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place met all of our needs. Loved the dock, was perfect for hanging out in peace. Nice that Sam had 2 canoes as well as a paddle boat, very convenient.

    Anthony2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sam was excellent. He met us to show us around the property and was very easy to deal with. The cottage was perfect for what we needed and in a great location.

    Chris2015-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Listing was exactly as promised and we were not disappointed. Sam promptly responded to my emails and inquiries. He gave clear instructions on how to get there. He was present at our time of check in to show us around. We had a lot of fun and were able to use the BBQ and build a campfire. There is a canoe and paddleboat available, but we opted not to use them as it was still too cold outside. His cottage is only 10 minutes away from town, where you can buy groceries and go to the LCBO. Heating, indoor fireplace, satellite TV were good. Our group had cell phone reception (4G) with both Rogers and Telus. All in all, no complaints and would recommend this place to anyone!

There's lotsa things to do too, trampouline, swimming pool ( when the weather dropped down ) kayaks, paddle boat. @ Night Jan lit the bonfire for us! Amazing amazing! Life jackets, towels etc. Cons: We were playing in the play room & we have to share with other old people that did not like the noise because they were watching Tv LOL! ( they were very rude ) we have children so obviously it will make a noise. Pros: Just bring food & yourself and youre all set! She provided everything.

  • We spent the weekend at Eric and Rachelle's cottage with family, and we absolutely loved it! The place was very clean, looked even better than in the pictures, and was very spacious. We particularly loved making dinners using the spacious kitchen, and hanging-out in the living room with a beautiful view on the lake. Our hosts were available to answer any questions via email or texts, which made it really easy. A great experience all around, and we would definitely go back!

  • If you are looking for a weekend retreat with a family, this is the place to be. You can hang out in the beautiful home, playing cards, cooking, watching TV. When you are feeling heavy and lazy after a couple of drinks, you can saunter down to the backyard to play mini-putt, horseshoes, badminton. There is water access off the little sandy beach where you can walk right in. Golf courses nearby, Haliburton is a short drive away. Overall a great experience!

  • This a beautiful lakefront house with every modern amenity. It's recently built and very tastefully finished, combining modern luxury with a rustic charm. It's at least a nice as it appears in the photos. It's extremely well equipped. We easily found whatever we needed to support our brunch and dinner parties, even a set of needle-nosed pliers to repair a broken watch band. We were a group of 5 men and all had our own rooms (one guy took the loft). We were joined by another 6 people for communal meals and the house had more than adequate space for these events. A few members of our group commented that this may be the nicest place they've ever stayed. The hosts were terrific to work with. We only communicated through e-mail, but they were always very responsive, positive, and helpful. We were greeted by a chalk board with a welcome sign when we came in, which added to the natural warmth of the house. Our only regret is that we didn't have much time to enjoy what the property and location had to offer. We were involved in a drama festival and spent most of our time at the local theatre. But the waterfront was lovely and the property includes at least four separate fully furnished outdoor seating areas, plus the boats, trampoline, and little putting green. It would be a fantastic gathering place for a large family reunion, with lots of potential activities for kids and places to escape for adults. In summary, this is an unbeatable place for a large gathering in a beautiful location. Rustic luxury at it's finest!

  • Had a wonderful weekend. The cottage (house!) seems like it is brand new. Great property and lots of outdoor games (horseshoes, Golf ball on a string throw game) and toys (pedal boat, paddle board) to keep you busy. Quick drive into Halliburton if you need anything. Hosts were very quick to respond to any inquiries. We were attending a wedding at the Bonnie View so location was perfect - easy walk. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

    Brian2016-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • My family (7 adults, 3 kids) had a great time at this beautiful cottage. The lake was warm (in July) and had a small beach which was great for the kids to get in and out of, and to sit in shallow water. The backyard had full sun for the majority of the day and we had a lot of fun mini-putting, jumping on the trampoline and SUP'ing. There is plenty of outdoor furniture for lounging and enjoying meals outside. The house itself is beautiful and cozy inside. Plenty of space for 12-14 people to comfortably sleep. Huge open concept kitchen which made meal preparation social and enjoyable. Every necessary kitchen tool/machine was available for cooking and baking which came in very handy! Our hosts invited us to use any condiments or other essentials in the pantry. Eric and Rachelle were very quick with their response time and available via text/phone when we needed. Overall we had a lovely stay and next time would like to extend past just the 3 days we had time for!

  • This cottage was perfect for me to mentally prepare for my workshop and an ideal place to wind down after. My son and I will be leaving to Australia for the summer so it was a very comfortable place for my family and friends to spend the last weekend together. Will definitely be returning.

  • Amazing value for the price! Very clean and lovely home in which I felt extremely safe at every moment of the day. Truly walking distance from anything you might need including a laundromat and grocery. Robert was a great host! Very communicative, accomodating and made sure to regularly check in to make sure I didn't need anything and that I was satisfied with my stay. Every morning the kitchen was stocked with an array of breakfast items from yogourts to bagels. In a nutshell: a very professionally managed property with a personal touch!

  • We had a great stay in Haliburton. The room was clean and comfortable, the location was convenient, and the complementary coffee and breakfast was perfect to start our next day off well. Warning to light sleepers: Be sure to pack some earplugs. The floors are very noisy so even quiet roommates can and will wake you up if they walk down the hall.
