Hide away on the Buffalo River in our newly renovated 2 bdrm, 1 bath lodge. Enjoy full kitchen, sun room and large outdoor deck surrounded by woods and steps away from the Buffalo River. Sleeps 6. Perfect for writing your next album, relaxing in the woods or getting out to explore and float the river.
This lodge is located 3 miles from Lobelville, a small town about one hour west of Nashville and 2.5 hours from Memphis. It's the perfect get away for relaxing or exploring. We've got canoes, fresh air and a fully renovated, beautiful lodge. One bedroom has a king sized bed, one has a double. There's a pull out couch in the den with a double mattress and a daybed on the screened in porch to sleep a single person. Our fully equipped kitchen allows for large group dining. You bring the food and booze, we've got a full sized refrigerator. Full bathroom with shower/tub and a washer and dryer make long stays a breeze. TV does not have cable (you're coming to escape, right?) but we do have a DVD player and tons of movies. There is no wi-fi but your phone will pick up 3G or 4G.
There are a few residents in the area that you may or may not see during your stay. It's a safe and friendly environment, where most keep to themselves. Please be mindful of neighbors in the evenings and keep noise to a minimum.
  • The stay could not have been more perfect. The cabin was absolutely wonderful; Very clean, tidy, and spacious. The river is only steps away. Virginia was very helpful with any questions we had. I would highly recommend.

  • Virginia was incredibly attentive from the first question I had about Sweeney Bluff Lodge to the end of my visit. The cabin itself was perfect. It is definitely tucked away. The location is such that when you arrive you want to have everything you need (although the grocery store in town has all the basics). It is an ideal spot to get away and unwind. The view of the river is very nice and the view of the stars from the neighboring farm land was worth the trip in and of itself. Thanks Virginia for creating the perfect small town getaway!

  • I loved staying here! The cabin was super clean and very comfortable and cute. Virginia was an excellent host with a great response time. I had a couple of questions while I was there, and I heard back from her immediately. It was raining, so I couldn't use the canoe, but I still had a good time unplugging from the world. I look forward to coming back!

  • Absolutely loved the cabin! Very relaxing and cozy! Virigina was very welcoming and flexible. We did not leave the cabin for the whole stay, we had everything we needed there. My favorite part was the water access; it was beautiful and we even caught a bunch of fish. Highly recommend if you're looking to get away and wind down

    Jessica2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect at the Sweeney Bluff Lodge! The cabin itself is beautiful and met our every need. The surrounding area/grounds are a perfect escape and dive into nature. My wife and 3 year old golden retriever Hendrix had an absolute blast in the serenity of the cabin. We are definitely planning on coming back this summer to really enjoy that river. The cabin was cozy, beds were comfortable. Great movie and record selection. It was just an amazing experience.

  • My husband and I have lost count of how many times we have stayed at this cabin! At least 5 or 6! It’s our absolute favorite weekend getaway between Nashville and Memphis. As you will see in all the other reviews, this is the perfect spot for a relaxed, cozy, secluded weekend. We love the new picnic table on the patio facing the Buffalo River. The cabin has been in impeccable condition for the last 2+ years. You’ll love your stay at Sweeney Bluff Lodge!

    Shelley2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful lodge near the river where you can swim and take the canoe to enjoy the surroundings. The house supplies everything a family needs. The Sweeney Bluff Lodge was for our family a perfect stay to relax a few days in between Memphis and Nashville!

Off the Grid Small 1 bed 1 bath cabin with cots available for more people. Close drive to antiquing in Hohenwald, Shopping and lunch at The Hippy Commune, (3) local Wineries open daily, The Amish community, and Hiking along the Natchez Trace, Horse Back riding and Meriwether Lewis State Park. There is a lot to do close for the outdoor enthusiast. I am Horse friendly so if you and your horse need a break i have pasture and a stall to keep you as long as you like.
I live on the property and would be happy to assist in anyway I can. This property is off the grid meaning it is solar powered so please conserve electricity. This simply means the property is powered by solar panels and there are a few restrictions such as no microwave (bad for you anyway), no coffee maker (peculator is in the cabin and makes better coffee too), no electric heating (wouldn't you rather have a fire)? A hair dryer will be fine as long as its not used for extensive amounts of time. Lights and fans really dont draw to much power so use them all you need. There is an Air Conditioner but it is hooked to a separate gas powered generator since it draws so much power from the solar system. There is extra gas stored next to the generator. The animals all love a treat and feel free to bring some snacks for them and yourself. There is a full small kitchen with cooking utensils ect. There is also a TV with some local channels to watch a game or the news. WiFi is there but works best on the porch and sometimes intermittent since its not cable internet.
Close drive to the Hippy Commune (The Farm), Amish Community, Antique district, Wineries, horse back riding, swimming and soaking in the Buffalo River and Hiking along the Natchez Trace. Let me know if your interested in doing horse back riding and I will get you in touch with the Mule Ranch in town.
  • I really enjoyed our stay here. John was great and always available to answer questions. The cabin has no doors on the bedroom or bathroom, just curtains. This was fine for me, just something to be aware of. It is also close to town and you can see all the farm animals from your windows. They like people and most of them will come right up to greet you when you step outside. If you like animals, rural living and want to experience living off the grid, I highly recommend this place.

    Keith2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • John's place was a delight!! It really surprised us and the cabin was extremely cozy and filled with peaceful surroundings. John was also a wonderful host and responded so quickly to all of our needs. Oh, and the fresh eggs were awesome- looked forward to them every morning!

    Cavina2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was wonderful. The place is spacious and clean and very homey. We loved getting to see the animals every morning. It was a sweet and relaxing visit. Would love to go back!

    Jared2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely love this place and will be back for sure! Fresh eggs in the morning, all the animal love you could ever want and lots of privacy. John is a great human who you would be lucky to meet.

    Liza2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet relaxing get away! John was great. All the animals are friendly. I miss the barn cats already and the baby bunnies! Feeding the cows apples in the morning was a wonderful way to starting the day and you can't beat fresh eggs!

    Hilary2017-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • John's place was everything he said it would be and more. Be aware that this abode it OFF GRID, and sustainable. That means he provides everything you need, but not necessarily an over the top (over priced) extravagance. Much of the cabin is re-purposed and charming. My wife and I found it peaceful and soothing. The thunderstorm was not distressing or distracting, just another interesting part of the whole. Our compliments to the farm animals, they were not stand offish and yet gave us our space. They kept the noise to a minimum, except in the morning when it was time to greet the day. Such luck.

    Frank2017-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I booked this last minute for a little getaway from Nashville for a night. The pictures do not do it justice ! We had a BLAST and plan to make this a regular stay for us. For breakfast we had freshly laid eggs (chicken and duck) that we picked from the coup ourselves which were to die for. Plus we made friends with all the cows, pigs, goats, cats and their kittens, ducks, chickens the pony. Can't disappoint them :)

    Dave2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful! John key is fed the cows in the morning and offered up fresh eggs from his chickens. Super cute place!

Stock up on supplies before you come. No oven, but fully stocked kitchen otherwise, pots pans and a 4-burner stove. Don is a great host with prompt and friendly correspondence. • Don was a great host he was a very nice person and went out of his way to help us during our stay. Cabin was a very special place. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. We saw beaver and river otter in the river. This cabin is remote. It is almost right in the middle between Waynesboro and Hohenwald. Great fishing and kayaking on the river. I highly recommend the cabin. My wife and I will be returning.

    Larry2016-04-06T00:00:00Z

THIS IS A RURAL LOCATION ON A STATE MAINTAINED ROAD. THERE ARE NEIGHBORS IN VISUAL DISTANCE BUT YOU ARE 20 MINUTES FROM ANY TOWN. What comes with rural? SEE BELOW. This is a creatively decorated artist retreat center to reinvigorate the kid inside of you with lighthearted aspects from bright fun bedding to posters that hopefully inspire joy and energy. This unit is on the edge of a 5 acre camp complex with a fenced in yard, a huge back deck and another front deck for sunset watch.
This retreat center is the literal manifestation of a life passion and sweat equity including little details of mosaic tile kitchen counter and artwork either collected on travels or contributed by myself or other artists. The renovation is a one-woman effort to design a creative retreat that will reinvigorate the kid inside of you. A chance to get away from the buzz of modern society, but you can still instagram if you want with our wifi access across the camp. There are games instead of a tv. Enjoy hanging out on the back deck and gaze at the stars or the front deck for the sunset. Plenty of other outdoor seating for small groups or individual relaxation. New HVAC heat pump keeps the space very comfortable in summer and winter, but don't worry we have plenty of blankets too for a nice winter night. **WARNING: THIS IS RURAL!!** We are on a well maintained state road with a few neighbors in visual distance. What comes with rural? Your phone may not work, but we have wifi camp-wide. There may be bugs - we supply bug spray. There may be dead bugs - we have a pest control service and you might see other types of bug traps. Please keep all food stored and trash must be taken with you or ask where we store it before our weekly trips to the landfill.
The rural rolling hills of this area are called the High Forest and is the same level as Gatlinburg. There a many farms surrounding us. This is a RURAL property but not off-road and not completely isolated as there are a few neighbors in the distance. Conveniently located on a well-maintained state road there is not much traffic. What you may hear instead is the distant moo-ing from the farms or our donkeys braying. If you would like to walk to the river, take a hike in the woods, or get directions to nearby outdoor activities, please ask. The off-road mud track is 2 miles away. The fitness spa is just a bit farther. There's a yoga retreat in the hills behind us. The natchez trace is about 15 minute drive for access and there are numerous parks in the area. The town of Hohenwald is lovely and seeing slow growth - don't miss the Elephant Sanctuary storefront and the Chamber of Commerce welcome center on main street has a store with all local products.
  • This place is not accurate. The host was nice and promptly responded but she wasn't there. The caretaker is who said she had no idea I was coming so she didn't clean. There were big dead bugs on the floor, sheets balled up on the bed, and she lost the key to the thermostat and it was off and 80 inside. I evacuated from Florida and spoke to the host early in the morning again after booking the day prior and let her know I was 7 hrs out. Plenty of time to prepare. There was no mention of a cat freely roaming inside the house. I'm 6 months into a high risk pregnancy and my allergies are severely heightened and cant be fighting my 60lb dog to not attack. There was a very large dog that the caretaker let freely roam and the caretaker had a weiner dog inside trying to lick my toddlers face, no mention of this I'm her description. At one point she even tied the large dog to the entry/exit stairs and though he seemed friendly i didn't want to take a chance and had to run past to get out with my 1 year old when he was distracted. My dog would fight the dogs and eat the cat. Since I rented the entire place I didn't think other animals that were never mentioned would be an issue. I felt sick from the heat and the cat so I went to the store and knew I would not be comfortable there. The animals were a safety and health hazard alone. I drove an hour to Franklin, TN because it isn't easy finding a place with the hurricane coming. I finally got myself and my toddler settled at 10pm. This is unacceptable. Also, you should require a full frontal photo of the building. This was a trailer, not a mobile home. The kitchen has curtains instead of cabinets and the cat climbs inside. Unsanitary. I didnt realize I had to ask people if they had cabinet doors. It also wasnt disclosed. The dining chairs were ripped open with foam stuffing coming out. The bathroom has a curtain and no door and no mention of these things even though she knew I had a toddler. Ive stayed at off the beaten path places plenty. This is not a quiet retreat, a cozy cabin, or whatever. It's a dirty trailer off the side of the road that is quite the safety hazard with broken deck wood and holes in the foundation that the trailer sits on.

  • The lodge was exactly as advertised...secluded and quiet. As far as the cleanliness...the lodge was spotless! Check in was a breeze. We arrived at 9:30pm. Lock box with a key. Jennifer had the fireplace staged and ready to go. All I had to do was light a match! Wish I could have stayed longer. 10/10!

  • My family of 5 checked in for 1 night on a cross-country road trip and were begging to stay longer. The fireplace logs being set up and ready to light was such a thoughtful touch. My kids took extra long showers and all commented "that round shower enclosure was awesome!" There were so many games for the kids to choose from and the outdoor cats made an adorable appearance. But the spotlessly clean space in this lodge was what impressed us most. Comfortable, clean and welcoming space!

The Cottage at Noteworthy Farm is a great place to kick back and relax for a charming stay in the country.
The cottage possesses an alluring charm with vintage touches throughout. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, toaster, dishes, pots, and pans. We provide linens and towels. Above the kitchen is a sleeping loft with twin mattresses. The kids would love a great night of adventure sleeping. The bedroom has two beds, a double and a queen. Imagine some quiet time sitting on the deck sipping wine from one of our three local wineries, or maybe it's lemonade or sweet tea that you prefer. The deck overlooks a 2 acre spring fed pond that is stocked with fish for your catch and release enjoyment. Grab a pole, wet a line, we don't mind!!
Hampshire is a quiet and friendly community. There are several churches in Hampshire to visit. We also have 3 wineries within a 10 mile radius: Keg Springs Winery, Amber Falls Winery, and Natchez Hills Vineyard. Across the road from the property is a great shop called "Copperhead Carpentry", which is owned by our friends Montie and Renee Couch. Also, the Natchez Trace is only about 7 miles up the road. The Natchez Trace has some great hiking/biking trails. Columbia is a town about 20 minutes away. It is known as the Mule Capital of the world. It is a decent sized town and has many grocery stores and little shops and boutiques. It has a great downtown area. Some of our favorite spots/restaurants/shops in Columbia that we like to visit are: -Puckett's Grocery & Restaurant -Oak and Lace -Lily Jane -Muletown Roasted Coffee -Variety Records -Pie Sensations -Southern Exposure -Buckhead Coffee House -Ted's Sporting Goods -Bleu 32 Antiques -Ye Peddler -The Faded Farmhouse -Christy's Restaurant -Venue Tenn -and many more…. About 25 minutes from the cottage is a large Amish community in Ethridge. You can go to the Amish Visitors Center and take a wagon tour of Amish country, or get a map and go by yourself. The Amish sell just about anything you can think of, from farm fresh eggs to hand made furniture. (at a much better price than any retail store!) We are just a little more than an hour from Music City USA, Nashville, Tennessee.
  • The cottage is such a great value, why would you ever want to stay at a hotel. You can fall asleep to the sounds of rain on a tin roof, or to the crickets and frogs. It is like staying with family.

  • This was our first Airbnb experience and it was perfect! Marsha and her family are the most gracious and delightfully kind hosts, everything was so clean when we arrived and the cottage was perfect! They even left us some yummy breakfast muffins, a selections of waters and coffee. We would definitely return to their cottage, it was the best way to stay and visit. We had a great experience. Marsha had prepared everything beautifully, and we had every amenity we could ask for. We had a delayed flight and Marsha was very understanding and kind enough to assist us settling in and made every resources available to us for anything we may need. I would highly recommend this very special place. BTW, there is a incredibly cozy red chair and matching ottoman in the bedroom which is by far the best reading chair one could ever sit in !!! The Cottage at Noteworthy Farm, is the best place to unwind decompress and relax in the tranquility of the country. The scenic views of the rolling hills, sitting on the porch in a rocking chair over looking the pond and stargazing at night. What a perfect weekend :) Thank you so very much.

  • The cottage at Noteworthy Farm is absolutely lovely. It's very cozy and charming. The host, Marsha, is a super nice and friendly woman, who doubles as an interior designer. It's in a quiet, idyllic setting that is perfect for relaxing and unplugging. There's no reliable internet but my family and I were not bored. We caught bugs, bird watched, pet the horses and played games. It was so nice, I just wish we had more time!

  • Due to Hurricane Irma, 5 of us and 4 Wiener Dogs decided to evacuate our home in Naples, FL. We pit stopped in ATL and our Air bnb booked every day after our arrival. We were short on options and I messaged Marsha and pleaded to allow pets at her location. She graciously accepted and when we arrived, it was late. The location was remote and some of us were nervous about the secludedness, but Marsha left the lights on and had music playing on our arrival, which alleviated any doubts that we had made the right decision. Marsha's husband came over to greet us and asked if we needed anything. Every day they came to see how we were doing and accommodated any request. When the storm was a direct hit on Naples, we didn't know how long it would be until we could return home, with reports of electrical outages, inaccessible streets, flooding, food and water shortages, etc. I explained our situation to Marsha, who was understanding, and she offered to extend our stay until we felt confident to return. The home slept 5 people and 4 dogs surprisingly comfortably! The secluded location was a relaxing retreat and town was conveniently close with access to great coffee shops, movie theater, thrift shopping, and more! The experience was a clear example of how God works through people and how he is truly taking care of all of us. We would highly recommend this home to anyone and we will look for any opportunity to visit again.

  • Thank you Marsha! When we arrived, we felt like we had just arrived back to the home we grew up in. The string of lights on the porch were on and the cabin smelled wonderful. Marsha even left us pastries on the counter. The cottage was charming, comfortable, and very private. We loved the decor yet it was very functional. It was very clean and just as described. Make sure to pick up some wood to build a fire in the fire pit. It was nice to get away and spend time on this beautiful property. We made some beautiful memories during our stay without tv, Internet, or wifi. Make sure to bring your favorite food/snacks/drinks with you because the store is a distance away. Marsha was available to answer our questions and was such a gracious host. Thank you for making us feel so welcomed! Mary

If you only want to book a room instead of the whole house this is the perfect option for up to three guests. You will have a private room and en suite bath with three twin beds in the main lodge at an artist creativity retreat center. The 5 acres is also a start-up farm so depending on your visit you may see things in bloom, birds and bees fluttering about.
This is a private bedroom ensuite for up to 3 people included in the price. The room is on the main floor and is lockable.
This is the rolling hills of mid-south Tennessee. There are neighbors in view but nobody in arm's reach. You'll hear cows and birds.
  • I have stayed in many airbnb locations and this was so bad in comparison that it was a joke. Rather than an apartment in a creative retreat center as described, it was a dilapidated mobile home next to an equally dilapidated house set in an overgrown, wild field. Despite the valiant efforts of the "caretaker" to mitigate the reality, the inside was neglected and ill-equipped. For example, there were numerous light switches and outlets without covers. When we sat in a chair on the deck, a leg went through a rotted plank in the floor. These deficiencies are dangerous! Valerie is a distant owner who has no business listing this dump on airbnb.

    Lisbeth2016-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • We lucked out and got to stay in the trailer next door to the main lodge, since it was available when we arrived. The only unexpected drawback is the main lodge lacking a/c, but the trailer does have a/c so it didn't affect us after all! The space is clean and artistic. Valerie is a very nice host with great communication skills - she even checked in to see how our drive was going.

Spacious 2nd story bedroom with attached private bath. King sized log bed & two pull out mattresses. Large walk in closet. Spacious kitchen & adjoining family room, porches, sprawling farm, fishing ponds, & creeks. Horse back riding & ATV trails.
Spacious bedroom, freshly decorated, beautiful view overlooking stocked pond & pasture. King sized log bed. Pull out foam mattress available for kids & plenty of room. Private attached bath. Quiet & out of the way.
Large local Amish community & local artisans, a favorite hunting & fishing area, kayaking & canoeing on the Buffalo, Duck & Piney Rivers, local winery. Approximately 20 miles from Natchez Trace. Great Horse back riding, motorcycle riding or 4 wheeler trails.
  • This was our first stay in an Airbnb, so we weren't quite sure what to expect. Morgan Branch Ranch was lovely; the room was exactly as pictured and described, the bed was comfortable, and the property was beautiful and serene. Janet was a kind and thoughtful host, and she even offered us breakfast in the morning, which we were not expecting. The ranch is pretty far out from much else, so it is a great place for a getaway, but it is also only about an hour and a half drive from Nashville.

My studio cabin is surrounded by hard wood trees, walking trails, and graceful meadows. There are plenty of family-friendly activities nearby including a disc golf course, The Farm Community, antique shopping, Amish markets, and the best BBQ in Tennessee. You’ll love staying in this quiet, peaceful cabin in the woods because of its coziness, high ceilings, natural light, and location. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
This is an open floor plan. There are no doors or walls between the kitchen, living room, and bedroom areas. There is a twin daybed that can comfortably sleep one adult or child and there is one queen bed. There is a small closet for clothes and a second closet with washer and dryer.
Don't be fooled by the colorful cast of characters you may pass on your way to the cabin. This truly is the Deep South. While they may appear rough and tumble on the outside, I have some of this country's nicest neighbors. Keep an eye out for the flag poles lining a sharp curve in the road, that's Alvin's house. A word of caution, he loves to talk! The road is named for his family and he loves to tell you all about the history of the area. My place is just past his on the left.
  • Great quiet cabin with a beautiful view. Gretchen is willing to assist at anytime with any questions. Such a nice, short get away! Will definitely be back!

    Sarah2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • PEACE and QUITE! An awesome screen porch with nice lounge chairs that you could actually let down to sleep on. Our first night was a little noisy due to the A/C and ice-maker, but all you have to do is turn them off at night, open the doors to porch, and turn on the fans. It was so nice listening to the owls and the crickets. I hesitate to find another place to stay when in middle, TN!

    Phyllis2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Gretchen was an excellent host and this cabin is ideal for a couple looking to getaway for a while! The cabin was clean and spacious and the location is great! We enjoyed every minute and can't wait to return.

  • Gretchen is a thoughtful host and again went out of her way to make our stay pleasant. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and would love to have stayed longer. The Cabin in the Woods just gets better and better.

Really peaceful and quiet, beautiful screened in porch deck, comfortable bed, clean and stocked with toiletries, dishes, etc. Gretchen is a phenomenal host and made me feel super welcome starting with our very first interaction. I'll come back here in a heartbeat and loved my time here. Thanks for everything!!! :)

  • Gretchen's cabin was the perfect getaway spot. Beautiful TN countryside. The cabin was immaculate and very comfortable. Couldn't have asked for more. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Highly recommend

  • Gretchen's place was the perfect getaway for two. We were desperate for some peace & quiet. The space was fabulous and just the right size. Our visit was during the fall, just as the leaves were changing colors. It was beautiful! We enjoyed a visit to The Farm, Yoder's Amish Store for lunch and to get food for our stay, Shaffer's Texas BBQ, a rough adventurous drive on Walker Rd, and the short hike to Stillhouse Hollow Falls. But our favorite thing to do was stay in the house with a deck of cards and the Table Topics cards Gretchen provided. Watching the sunset on the screened in patio was enjoyable too. We appreciated the amenities throughout the home. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need. There's a washer and dryer and even toiletries in the bathroom. I was impressed with the softness of the sheets and the towels. Gretchen was a wonderful host. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.

This farmhouse was originally built in 1975 and has since been restored. It's off the beaten path but still just a short drive from downtown Linden. This house is located about 2 hours from Nashville, 1 hour from Dickson and a little over an hour from Jackson. There are livestock animals near by and deer can be spotted late in the evening and early in the morning. This house means so much to myself and my family and I am certain you will instantly feel at home.

Historic, renovated, huge room over old General Store. Quiet town between Nashville and Memphis. Accessed by scenic roads along two pristine rivers. Perfect for girlfriend getaways, man-cations, anniversaries, honeymoons, or that romantic getaway. Lots of river activities, nature trails & wineries within 35 minutes. Live Music in restaurant & local "storage/ salvage" auction every Friday.
Unique historic building in small town (1,000 ppl). Renovated by a couple who fell in love with the quiet, quaint atmosphere & pristine natural beauty of the area. Located on 2-lane state highway which runs thru the town square. Pro- easy to find; con - some traffic noise but usually only during the day.
  • This stay was such an unexpected little gem! The old charm and small town feel of this suit was delightful! I appreciated most how clean it was. We were very comfortable and I loved all the quality updates made to this historical building. I'm going to return again when we come back for business in the next town. Excellent host and wonderfully appointed room.

  • This is a quaint historic place to stay in rural Tennessee. Just be aware that this is a hotel with many rooms and the room you are actually given may or may not be the same size or furnished like the one depicted on the Airbnb site. I have no major complaint about the room we got (in a separate annex across the street) but it was just not what we expected when we booked.

  • Brad was very accommodating to me during my stay at his serene cabin. He offered many suggestions to nearby attractions and great tips on the local hiking trails. The cabin was in the perfect location as it was right at the entrance of a trail head for the Laurel Hill Wildlife Management park which was great for hiking and running! Neighborhood was quiet but close to nearby attractions so I never got bored. I had a chance to meet Brad and he even offered me to go horseback riding with him and his wife! Very friendly guy and a very nice and relaxing stay. Perfect place if you want to get in touch with nature.

  • Reasonable value for what you get. Be sure to learn about the history of "The Farm," it's fascinating. Close to the Natchez Trace.

    Barry2017-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Laura has been very accommodating every time I have stayed at the Ecohostel. The Farm is gated so if coming in late you will need someone to let you in, and Laura or her boyfriend have done that each time despite my unpredictable schedule. The room is pretty much as shown on the picture. Very basic, but comfortable bed, wifi, bathroom right across the hall. I have met some nice people that were staying in the upstairs dorm as well. Great place to stay if you are out on the Natchez Trace.

    Jim2015-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Laura was great and the EcoHostel is very cozy. The rooms are very basic and there isn't A/C, but even in July it gets cool enough at night to be comfortable. There were a lot of (very friendly!) people staying there, but it was never noisy and never felt crowded. There is tankless (aka endless) HOT water, which is a huge plus. The room I booked that I saw in the pictures was not the room I ended up with. Which was fine, but if it matters to you, you should probably specify your needs (bed size, upstairs vs. downstairs). They do provide wifi but I had a lot of trouble picking it up no matter where I went. The EcoHostel is at the bottom of a hill and I got NO cell phone service at all unless I walked or drove up the hill. There is a curfew of 7pm when the gate to the community closes and locks. I was often out late and I didn't have trouble waiting for someone to let me in, but it's something to keep in mind. If you don't arrange to be let in in advance you may have to wait a while, depending on your luck. Overall a great experience, I would certainly stay there again!

    Francisca2016-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • My stay here was great! The EcoHostel was comfy and Laura was so unbelievably accommodating!! The cell service wasn't great, which I expected, but the EcoHostel provided wifi which was a LIFESAVER for finding my directions in the morning. I couldn't recommend this place enough for a weekend getaway or for a relaxing break!

    Dan2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Truly enjoyed my short stay at the farm during the dead of winter when few were around. Though I got in after dark someone came to the gate to meet me and I was able to follow them to the hostel. The private room was very comfortable and everyone I talked to at the farm was warm and interesting.

  • Great experience. Laura made my arrival and my stay smooth. I ended up liking it so much, I extended my stay and participated in a natural home building workshop! A very special area filled with kind people.

Quiet, small- town getaway in historic hotel. Jacuzzi tub, hardwood floors, high ceilings, exposed brick & big TV make this room a “favorite” for anniversaries, honeymoons, or romantic trysts. Located between Memphis & Nashville, this 1939, 12-room Hotel was restored by a couple originally from Rhode Island. Original architectural details were saved while adding modern amenities like WiFi & DirecTV (and necessities like bathrooms & air conditioning!). Classic furnishings. On- site restaurant.
Guests love staying here when they want to escape the rat race or their everyday worries at home. Being in a historic building makes one feel nostalgic, and creates a sense of wonder... “I wonder what happened here...” Our remote location is ideal for escaping, but less than ideal for conveniences like shopping malls & 24-hour stores. Mobile phone service - on the way here- is spotty in a few sections. It is generally good AT the hotel, though.
Located in downtown square of town of 1,000 people. We are on state highway 100 / 412 / 20 (it’s all 3 in this section). There is traffic noise - but mostly during the day. This room is not located on the street side of building.
  • The host canceled this reservation the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.

Historic family home, newly remodeled with gorgeous updated kitchen. Perfect for a big event or a family getaway!
Located in beautiful Hickman County, we are just minutes from Grinders Switch Winery.
  • My guest and I had an amazing time at the Springer House. As soon as we walked in we felt welcomed. We received a nice bottle of Grinders Switch Wine and a handwritten note. The fridge was stocked with various items that one might forget when their traveling. Don't let the pictures fool you. This house is very spacious. The Springer House is a great place to stay if your looking to relax and unplug. This place is one of Hickman Co. best kept secrets. My guest and I will definitely book again.

  • We really enjoyed our stay. Laura and everyone on the farm made us feel at home and treated us like family. We were there during a full moon and got to participate in the drum circle they had at a bon fire. We toured the farm and visited the swimming hole. We had a great stay and can't wait to return.

  • I stay at the Farm's Ecohostel every time I'm in the area and love it. Great energy, friendly hosts, and beautiful scenery! I asked Laura whether there was a grocery or restaurant open and she offered to share from a pot of curry she just made. Thank you!

  • Peaceful environment with lots of of great people. The EcoHostel staff and residents were amazing. Learned lots about their experiences and loved being part of the community for the time I was there.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at the EcoHostel. It's a great opportunity to get away with a homey feel. Laura and the rest of the staff were very friendly and the hostel grounds are a joy to explore.

  • As always, the Farm welcomed us warmly. A couple of our favorite things was the balcony on the 3rd floor where we could just chill and mediate, the knowledgable and friendly residents who we got to know while there, and the scenic walk down to where the streams meet for a rejuvenating and peaceful experience.

  • The eco-hostile at the farm is great! This is my second time staying there and really appreciate the kindness of the hosts and the funky accommodations. I came in really late, like 10:30 PM, but someone was able to meet me at the gate and give me checked in.

  • Staying here rates far beyond the typical Airbnb bed for a night. I was blown away by the experience and can only count down the days until I'll return. The hostel is cared for with clear intention and love, and when wandering the grounds of the rest of the community (the Farm) it is clear that this is a special place. You will not feel like a stranger here.

  • Staying at the Farm, even just for a night, was a wonderful experience. The Eco-Lodge happened to be hosting a Potluck Dinner the night that we arrived, which turned out to be perfect. We did not know anything about the background of the Farm before we stayed here but since then I have read a few articles and it is certainly a fascinating piece of history. I salute those past and present who have maintained the values of communal space and regard for nature. Overall, a wonderful experience.
