  • What an amazing place! We had a brilliant week staying in Jesca's spacious and beautifully appointed apartment. The setting by the riverside in the quaint village of Airton is quintessential Yorkshire. Thanks to great information from Jesca, we enjoyed lovely walks, climbs and visits to historical sites. Thoroughly recommended.

  • We had such a lovely stay. The apartment was fantastic. Lots of space for us all (myself, husband and children aged 6, 3 and 1), Lovely bed linen, fluffy towels, big bath, internet, beautiful views and everything you could possibly need in the apartment. We plan to return and highly recommend.

  • We had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous house. It's extremely spacious, quiet, comfortable and is so well equipped. I can't recommend it highly enough.

  • We had a brilliant time in Airton and exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Whether it was hiking the Penine Way or spending the day in York, this place was the perfect base. Jesca has extraordinary attention to detail and the house is exactly as described .... actally it seemed better. Everything seems to be thought of and all you need to is book it and turn up!

    eric2015-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing, comfortable and welcoming stay. The apartment is exactly as described, in fact better due to the warmth and homely atmosphere. The facilities within the apartment are excellent and the surrounding area is very beautiful and relaxing. We would love to have stayed longer but the 3 nights we had were just what we needed and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. There was no disturbance and the peace and tranquillity of the area is perfect. This apartment is highly recommended and we are hoping to come back and stay longer! Thank you!

  • Jesca and family were such charming and lovely hosts, greeting us at the property and making everything easy. The place is really well set up, big open kitchen, and we'll need to come back for a month just to get more out of their finely chosen books and DVD collection! We left some clothes by mistake and Jesca was exceptionally kind returning them to us.

Our cosy barn conversion is the perfect base for you to explore the outstanding natural beauty of the Yorkshire Dales.
The Barn was beautifully converted in the mid 2000s with traditional stone, slate and oak throughout the property. The downstairs comprises a large open plan living area with two comfy sofas and a log burning fire, a modern kitchen with an electric range cooker, fridge freezer, coffee machine and breakfast bar opening to a large dining area. To the rear of the house there is access to a utility room with sink, washing machine and a downstairs w/c - and of course plenty of space to hang your outdoor gear and any muddy boots! Additionally there is a small south-facing garden patio area to the front. Taking the oak staircase upstairs, there are two double bedrooms and one bedroom with two single beds. The bathroom has a full size bath and separate shower area. There is extra space to hang clothes or use for storage on the upstairs landing area which are guests are more than welcome to use.
Well what can we say about the Yorkshire Dales? Simply put; it is in all seasons a stunning area. After many years of visiting and extended stays in our barn we still discover new gems on every visit! The barn is in the heart of the beautiful village of Stainforth. There is a pub serving fine local ales in the village (just a 15 second stumble away!). There are numerous paths for walking routes to suit all abilities beginning as soon as you step out of the door. Stainforth is perfectly located for those wishing to explore the famous Three Peaks. The historic market town of Settle is a 5 minute drive or a pleasant stroll of around an hour along the beautiful River Ribble. Settle has some lovely pubs, shopping and restaurants.
  • This barn is absolutely lovely, the decor is really homely and so cosy. The log burning fire was great to snuggle up next to on the comfy sofas and the kitchen/dining room perfect for sociable dinners. The kitchen is really well equipped and we had everything we needed to make meals, the welcome pack was a lovely addition too. Beds were comfortable and had plenty of pillows and extra bedding for the chilly nights. We had some lovely walks to the waterfalls nearby and a trip to the local pub which is literally seconds away. A lovely stay and Sean was very attentive, we definitely felt that if we needed anything he was just at the end of the phone. Can't recommend this place enough, excellent value and a lovely property overall.

    Ashling2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous house to stay in & in a great location to explore the dales! Sean was a great host - very easy to contact with fab instructions & directions. We were in the dales to celebrate our mums 60th birthday and Sean left out prosecco, decorations & a card - great start to the surprise trip :) I would thoroughly recommend & would definitely return for another stay!

    Heather2017-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Just back from three relaxing and cosy nights at The Barn. A real home away from home with everything you need and a lot more! Sean was brilliant and answered any questions we had ( you don't need to bring your own wood!) and there is lots of info on things to do in the local area with his top tips. Bonus is the Craven Heifer pub on the doorstep. The new landlord's are very welcoming and the home cooked meals are very hearty and good value. We had a great time and have no hesitation in recommending The Barn whether it's for a lazy few days in front of the wood burning stove or long walks enjoying the beauty of the area. Thanks Sean.

  • This is a really lovely house, comfortable and spacious with everything you need. It's one of the nicest places we've stayed and in one of the loveliest settings. The village is peaceful and pretty with lots of fantastic walking and cycling around, and the house was the perfect base for exploring. Sean was friendly and helpful and responded quickly to all my messages to him. We'd love to come again.

    Lucy2017-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • The barn is a really lovely place to stay. The kitchen was stocked so well - more utensils than my own. It was ideal for my family and close to so many great walks. I will most definitely return as I was very impressed.

    Maxine2016-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay this house in the Yorkshire Dales. The tiny village is picture perfect and a short walk to a breathtaking waterfall. The house layout is fantastic and it is designed very well.

    Craig2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely week in this property in August 2017 with 2 adults, 2 ten year olds and 2 seven year olds. The property was clean and well equipped with everything we needed including dishwasher, microwave, good wifi, comfy sofas and beds, and all the kitchen equipment you could ask for. All the rooms were beautifully decorated - it was hard trying to decide which was the nicest room. The property was just as described and the photos are a true representation. When I booked this holiday I wanted a cottage that was nicer than my own home and this exceeded all expectations. We ate in the village pub twice, both times having very delicious meals and a warm welcome. I would happily recommend this property to friends and family as a great place to explore the Dales. Communication with the owner from booking, pre arrival and during our stay was excellent.

    Emma2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We were delighted on arriving to find such a luxurious base for 3 days of exploring the Dales. Everything works very well and has been made straightforward - even the house guide is precise e.g. on the local publican's welcome :-) The kitchen is well equipped and all rooms are finely furnished. The sun-trap garden really is a sun-trap.

A cosy stone riverside cottage in Ribblesdale. The perfect base for exploring the Dales or for a romantic getaway, whatever time of year.
Wagon House is a 200 year old single storey stone cottage, situated alongside the River Ribble. Guests can enjoy this fully equipped self catering accommodation throughout the year, and enjoy tranquil days of pure relaxation in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Walks can be taken from the doorstep and the property is only a couple of miles from the village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale - the starting point for the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. At the back of the house is a large riverside garden, and beyond the river runs the famous Settle to Carlisle railway - perfect for steam train enthusiasts, during the summer months.
Helwith Bridge, in the shadow of Pen-y-ghent, is a charming hamlet in the parish of Horton-in-Ribblesdale. The area is very popular with the caving community and cyclists alike, not to mention the many walkers who come to the area to take on the three Yorkshire Peaks. The village, entirely surrounded by agricultural land, is within easy reach of the market town of Settle - some four miles away. Wagon House is the perfect base for exploring the Dales, whether on foot or by car.
  • The cottage was just fantastic, we had lots of cozy evenings in with the log burner, with logs, kindling and firelighters a plenty to keep you toasty. The pub next door was really friendly with great food! There were great walks on your doorstep and we will definately be back! Communication with Ian was excellent and I don't think the photos do the cottage justice, it had fabulous beams and bags of character. Very clean and lots of candles. One tip, the digital radio seemed to work better with the main lights switched off ☺.

    Gillian2016-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage - fully equipped for self-catering and very homely. Lots of little touches like decorations, candles etc. The location is perfect for exploring the Dales, which you also have a great view of from the cottage. Ian communicated very well and we had no problems with checking in. Highly recommended!

    Matthew2017-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Felt really welcome upon arrival. All the little details had been attended to and made for an excellent stay. The cottage is like a home from home and the log fire was a dream after a day's walking in the winter chill! We'd highly recommend and definitely stay there again! (Our little dog Willow also loved it)!

    Matthew2016-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely (EMAIL HIDDEN)pact but perfectly adequate and lovely and snug after a long days walking. The photos on this listing do not do the property justice. The cottage was very clean with nice fresh bunch of daffodils to great us on arrival. Beautiful views of the garden and river, brilliant pub next door, really friendly and good pub grub. Ready supply of logs for the woodburner a bonus on a cold evening and you can walk up pen-y-ghent a short stroll on the road over the bridge. Loved this place.

    Kristy2016-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage, great for 2 People but a bit snug for 4 (OK for the 1 night when we had my step daughter and her boyfriend to stay but would've been trickier for longer). There's wifi and a Vodafone phone signal at the pub but nothing at the house. Garden is dog-friendly but not fully secure so there's no where outside that you could leave them to dry, it's worth taking extra mats/blankets as you go straight through the front door into a carpeted area which is tricky with muddy paws. There's no shops nearby and although The cottage is well supplied with pots, pans, towels etc there isn't a lot in the way of kitchen cupboard staples so make sure you take everything you might need. Had a lovely stay and will go again

    Rachael2015-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Really great little cottage in a lovely setting on the bank of the River Ribble, and just round the corner from an excellent pub too. The cottage was very well presented, with everything we needed as a base for a few days walking. The icing on the cake was log burning stove which made for nice cosy evenings despite the cold weather outside. We really couldn't have asked for more. We'll be back!

    Tom2016-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very cosy cottage that's great for a relaxing weekend away. We really enjoyed the views of the river and visiting birds from the garden windows. The open fire and peace and quiet was just what we needed. Good location for exploring the Malham area.

    Miranda2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely little cottage on the banks of the river. Very clean and tidy and plenty of space. Very tastefully decorated and lovely touches like candles everywhere. Kitchen has everything you could need.

  • Kay's place was so homely and quiet and actually looked better than the photographs she has on airbnb. Kay is super friendly and very welcoming. Would definitely recommend her place and a chat over a hot cup sitting in her lovely living room.

  • A wonderful place to stay to explore the Dales, myself and my partner stayed at Kay's to do the 3 Peaks challenge and Kay did everything possible to make us comfortable and stress free. Her house is gorgeous, very well equipped with a beautiful en-suite bathroom for her guests. Immaculately clean, and perfectly located in a very pretty village. Kay was just so friendly and helpful and kind, and does the best breakfast! Thank you Kay. Perfect!

    nicky2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kay has a lovely home in Austwick but the highlight of our stay was really Kay herself. We immensely enjoyed our chats and her guidance on the local geography, interest in theatre and literature. We truly felt we have known her for years together!

    Jayshree2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my two friends stayed here, as we was doing three peaks. It was so close to the starting point. The host kay was lovely and shared her beautiful home with us. We came and went and was made to feel at home. 100% would stay here again.

  • We had a very cosy and comfortable stay in Kay's lovely home, staying in her spacious twin room. Kay was very welcoming, her home was spotlessly clean and we enjoyed the breakfast that we paid extra for. Kay's house is in a very beautiful location with lovely walks from the door.

  • Brilliant place to stay, comfortable and quiet and perfectly located for the 3 peaks challenge. Kay's house is beautiful with some fabulous art all over the house. Breakfast was perfect and Kay extremely helpful and even left us tea and biscuits after we finished the 3 peaks. Handily close to the pub too. Highly recommended

Spacious apartment in a grade 2 listed building dating back to 1697, in the centre of Settle & on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Spectacular limestone scenery provides a magnificent backdrop to this traditional market town of Settle. This is the UK home of the host who is a rather active but senior OAP who will be in residence along with guests.
Sitting in the Ribble Valley Settle is surrounded by some of the best walking country in the UK, covering the Yorkshire Dales, Three Peaks, and the Forest of Bowland. An ideal location to explore on foot, by car, or cycle. Caxton House is a 4 minute walk to the rail station for the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway
I emigrated to Settle in 2007 from another beautiful location in the Vale of Glamorgan. I took Caxton House on till I could find something better, but stopped looking within 6 months. Everything is within walking distance from shops to pubs and even the railway for the train to Leeds or Carlisle
  • Arthur was very welcoming and hospitable. The flat is right in the middle of Settle, convenient for the station and all other amenities.

    Rachel2015-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a single night at Arthur's place, which is ideally located in the centre of the village. Arthur is very popular and it's no wonder. The room in itself has everything you might need, including tea, and Arthur's flat is also very nice. The breakfast was large and tasty. Overall very recommended!

    Matthieu2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Arthur is an incredibly generous & inspiring person with plenty of experiences to share. It was a pleasure to stay with him. I'm sure I'll stay again!

  • Arthur - our host was very welcoming and kindly offered to meet myself and a friend (who was also staying at his cottage) at the Railway station on our arrival. We were also taken on a short walk of the surrounding area which was a bonus and appreciated. The cottage is situated in the centre of Settle in a quiet area . This listing is very accurately described - my bedroom was of good size clean and comfortable (as was the whole property overall) A resonable breakfast was also provided at a small extra cost. Arthur was an interesting and inspiring host and we heard stories or his many travels, work and fundraising efforts for charities over a number of yearS. This added to an enjoyable stay in this pleasant small Town in the Yorkshire Dales. Thanks Arthur!

Welcome to "The Nook" a beautifully appointed home located in the historic heart of Settle. This quirky cottage benefits from having all its living and sleeping space on one level. It is light, bright and enjoys lovely views across the countryside. The spacious kitchen, woodburner in the living room and the limestone underfloor heating in the bathroom add up to give it a cosy and luxurious feel. It's perfect base from which to explore all that Settle and the Yorkshire Dales has to offer.
All the rooms in our cottage are on one level and there is level access from the street with no stairs. Its position and location means that the bedroom and lounge are afforded great far reaching views from up high over Settle and the beautiful countryside. There is hardwood oak flooring throughout with rugs placed to maximise the cosiness. The lounge: adding to the cosy feel throughout is the wood-burner which lies at the heart of the property. It is easy to light and manage and an ample supply of matches and kindling are provided for your use (kiln dried logs can be purchased locally). Within the lounge there is a dining area which provides ample seating for 4 people. The kitchen: has an electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge with freezer compartment. We don't have a washing machine as there is a launderette located within 50m of the property. We provide tea, coffee and basic condiments. The bedroom: has a very comfortable double bed, bedside tables and a double wardrobe which provides ample storage. The Bathroom: benefits from a bath with shower attachment, limestone tiled underfloor heating, a heated towel rail and an illuminated mirror with electric shaving point. • Really enjoyed our weekend in settle - the cottage is so cosy and there are good coffee shops and pubs in the local town. The location is perfect for some beautiful walks, and the log burner at the cottage was so nice to warm up afterwards. If we were in the area again we’d stay at the Nook.

  • A great little cottage in an ideal location for our 3 peak challenge. Perfectly spotless with little added extras made a lovely touch. Highly recommend!

  • This cottage is perfect for a couple or young family like us for a 'home away from home' in the Yorkshire Dales. It is easy to locate and amenities are within walking distance from the cottage (shops, banks and restaurants) but still secluded enough to feel you are in a countryside holiday as it is in a small market town overlooking the mountains. Sarah was very easy to communicate and made our stay very easy and straightforward as it was our first time to use airbnb for an accomodation. She was super and even left personal touches to us, her guests. We will definitely recommend her as host and her cottage to friends and family. We will definitely stay again in the future when we visit the Dales again.

  • A lovely cottage, with good pubs and shops nearby, a truly great location. Sarah was easily contacted and very helpful.

  • This is such a beautiful cottage. Clean, neat, stylish and cute as a button!! It's small but manages to have everything you could need. It's extremely central but tucked away behind the Main Street so it's very quiet. I found it a little difficult to find as it is so tucked away but keep looking as it's worth it!! The decor is light, bright and very pretty. The main bedroom and bathroom are surprisingly big and the shower is great, hot, strong and beautiful to look at! My only issue was that my daughter found the sofa bed a bit uncomfortable but don't let this put you off - take an air bed and enjoy the cottage for what it is....gorgeous cottage, great location and brilliant value!!

  • The cottage was so lovely, absolutely perfect for a weekend away. It is ideally situated for long walks in the beautiful countryside. The cottage itself is really cosy with a lovely log Fire. My friend accidentally knocked over some decoration China which we replaced but Gillian was really really nice about the whole thing. We would definitely come again! Thanks Gillian

  • Lovely spot to spend a weekend in as we explored this corner of Yorkshire. We spent our days walking the peaks (Ingleborough was reachable from the cottage on foot) and evening cooking and playing card games. Very much enjoyed having the sheep as neighbours, they were very well behaved! Reccomend other guests bring their own food and drink and pubs / restaurants are not far off, but un reachable by foot. Dont miss the waterfall walk!

  • The cottage is in a nice quiet village that is close to other villages with more amenities, It's also in a great location to explore the Dales and other sorrounding areas. The cottage is fairly basic inside, but a good place to stay for exploring the sorrounding areas. Communication with the owner was fantastic and check in was made very easy and flexible.

  • We had an amazing stay in this lovely cottage. Perfect size for a family of four. The children were happy with the field to play football and play park right on their doorstep. Thank you to Carol for the lovely welcome hamper. We'll be back again soon!

  • Excellent few days in The Dales. The cottage is a perfect base for exploring this beautiful area. Carol met us at the house and talked us through everything including where to eat locally. She was spot on The house was impeccable with everything well thought out, Carol even left a toy for the dog! We really couldn't fault the house and will be back!

    Si2016-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • From the first contact we had with Carol making the arrangements for our stay we knew we would be made so welcome - and we were. Carol met us on arrival and gave us lots of local information based on our interests. She left us a scrumptious hamper of goodies. Our dog was given a special welcome and even had her own cupboard of treats, towels and toys. The cottage is beautifully decorated and well equipped. The shower is great and the beds are comfy - the two most important things when we are away. The location is stunning - next to the Tems beck but easy walking to Settle, along the Ribble valley and access to all the local walking highlights. And we love under floor heating! Carol is a very careful and attentive host.

Beautifully renovated 18th-century cottage overlooks river in Yorkshire Dales conservation village. En-suite shower room. Dog-friendly (£5 one-off charge paid on arrival), bike storage, rear garden. Cosy and full of character - beams, window seats, guest lounge/dining room.
  • Great B&B, very clean and superb breakfast. Isobel ensures all guests are looked after.

    Gabrielle2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We received a wonderful, warm welcome from Isobel after a long drive. The B&B is cosy, charming and very comfortable - Isobel's breakfasts are fantastic, really top-notch. Simply one of the best places we've ever stayed. Clapham is a picturesque and archetypal Dales village, and their are great walks to be had nearby.

    Fraser2015-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed with Isobel for three nights and were made to feel welcome from the minute we arrived until the moment of our departure. Bridge Cottage is a wonderful property - carefully renovated by Isobel a few years back. Immaculately furnished, cosy and situated a stones throw from Clapham Beck. Our breakfast each morning was a delight. We cannot wait to visit again.

    Caroline & Gwyn2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Isobel was very welcoming - she was at her B&B, and very happy to see us even though we arrived a couple of hours prior to when we thought we'd be getting in. She showed us around, and gave us complete instructions on everything. Then she served us her homemade cake and tea. All of the food she made the entire time we were there was very tasty and very generous in amount. Her place settings were very nice, as well. She was happy to tell us everything we needed to know, but was a perfect hostess in leaving us to enjoy the house and public spaces, too. She offered us ideas on where to eat meals, and nice sites to see. She was very accommodating to us with our bicycles and our riding gear. The house, linens, everything was incredibly clean, and new. It was a very pleasant place to be and if we go back to the area, we will stay there again. We highly recommend Isobel and her Bridge Cottage to everyone.

    Rob2015-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Bridge cottage exceeded all our expectations. A beautiful Yorkshire village and a hugely welcoming local community. Thank you Isobel for being such a friendly and helpful host.

    Charlie2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • We were thoroughly welcomed by Isobel from the moment that we arrived with warmth and good humour. A pot of tea and selection of homemade cakes set the tone for our stay during which nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The accommodation was spotless with great character but also modern facilities and a super shower room. We were provided with an extensive breakfast menu. My husband enjoyed a full English breakfast and I chose smashed avocados with poached eggs on toast. Everything was locally sourced and well presented with fresh flowers on the table. The rhubarb available with the fruit salad was the best I have ever tasted and came from the village. I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely home and will certainly return if we are in the area again.

    Louise2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Bridge cottage was a last minute booking for easy access to an event nearby and i want so say whole-heartedly with every ebb of my being that it was one of the best experiences in public lodgings i have had. I lack the literary finesse to convey my thoughts in words but i cannot fault Isobel or her beautiful cottage at all. The food was all homemade and moreish, the cottage was clean and homely, we had the usual amenities with a little added extra, HOT CHOCOLATE!! (not forgetting the bottled still and sparkling water) My occupation requires me to work away from home so i frequent many B&Bs and hotels and i know this is a luxury. It didn't feel like a B&B, more like a cheeky visit to your Aunty to get pampered. Isobel is very welcoming and knowledgeable about the surrounding area so make sure to pick her brain about things to do locally. Its beautiful scenes in all directions so you will want to take a walk.

    Ahanna2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Isobel made sure that we felt at home straight away, we were welcomed at the door and from the first moment she made sure we had everything we needed to ensure we had a fantastic weekend in Clapham. Our room was lovely and we were within walking distance of all the places we wanted to see in the village. Overall we had a fantastic time :) Would love to visit again, thanks

  • We highly recommend Anna's cottage. A real home-from-home and you feel relaxed from the moment you walk in. It has everything you could wish for, and more. Parking right outside and about a 10 min walk into Settle where there are plenty of shops and restaurants. There's also a good pub down the hill in the village with good food, about a 3 min walk. Booths supermarket in town if you want to cook and all the cooking utensils you need. Lots of great walks in the area, either right from the door, or a short drive away. Anna is a great host too and communication was excellent. We will be back!

Barn Conversion in the yorkshire dales, offer of full house self catering accommodation. Sleeps maximum of seven (two doubles three singles). Perfect family/ group getaway in the heart of the yorkshire dales. Albert Hill is a barn conversion and is situated in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Self Catering Barn Conversion: A luxury and characterful apartment sleeping a possible 7; 2 single very comfortable sofa beds on the mezzanine level, a double sofa bed in the living area and both a double and single room downstairs. There are two luxury shower/WC rooms and two entrances. The use of the full house offers superb views across the valley. The barn is also situated directly on the path of the Way of the Roses route making it ideal as a stopping point for those that want to break up the experience. Bicycles are also available to borrow and offer the perfect choice for exploring the splendour of the surrounding Dales.
  • We have just had a wonderful weekend in Settle - thank you Jonathan. The barn conversion is in a perfect location - only a short 5/10 minute walk into the village. Set in stunning surroundings, the barn is light & airy and reflected the description as expected. Comfortable for 5 guests, I think it may have been rather tight for any more ! Interesting interior, very comfortable and easy to use. We would love to come back again.

    karen2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Jonathan's flat - doing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks on the Saturday - it was an ideal base and suited our group down to the ground. The house is lovely and laid out in a spacious style with a great kitchen and living area and a versatile mezzanine floor which offers living and sleeping options. It was very well appointed and we all enjoyed the powerful showers after a long walk in the Dales. Settle is a delightful town, with quirky shops, good pubs and plenty of walks direct from the town - plus the bonus of the railway station with its direct connections to Leeds and then London.

    James2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic, stylish and modern barn conversion in beautiful Settle. Good location just 5 min walk up the hill out of town. Jonathan made check in/out very simple and was a great help over the phone when we were there, with advice on pubs and eating in and around Settle. The barn was a great base for our 2 days of walking in the region and within short reach of Malham, Ingleborough etc. We were 4 but would comfortably fit 5 (3 rooms incl mezzanine), although there are more single beds than doubles. Would certainly recommend it.

    Mike2014-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous time in Settle and Jonathan's pad was perfect to explore Settle and the surrounding area. We had our 7 month old baby with us and found everything we needed at the house. The weather was v. kind to us and we enjoyed a few drinks on the balcony after our 10 mile walk on our 2nd day. The chance to explore the local waterfalls at Stainforth foss and Catrigg force was a great way to end our trip.

    Diane2016-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay, had everything we needed for five people, two really good showers, nice to have the milk, wine etc left for us. Kitchen was fully ready for use and had all utensils needed. As much as it sleeps 7 I think five was comfortable.

    rosemary2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • The barn was great, as described, clean and modern with all of the facilities we needed for a 2 night stay to do the yorkshire 3 peaks. Showers are powerful. We arrived in three seperate cars and parking is a little tricky as noted by the host, that said, we did all manage to get parked a few seconds away from the front door as advised in the information and the diagram attached to the fridge door. It takes a couple of minutes to walk down the hill in to Settle and about ten minutes to drive to Horton to start the three peaks. Everyone who stayed in our group thought it was great and a couple have mentioned making bookings for themselves later in the year. Overall it was an ideal base for us. We've done the three peaks several times staying in local b&b's / pubs with accomodation and felt this was a better option.

    Kris2015-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a brilliant time staying in Jonathan's lovely barn conversion. We will definitely be coming back to further explore Settle and the Dales!

    James2015-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jonathan's barn conversion in Settle is the ideal place to stay for walkers/hikers wanting to explore the area. A beautifully unique building that was cosy and large enough for a small group of people. Just outside the centre of Settle, and a 5-8 minute walk into the centre. Perfect position for the 3 peaks challenge too. Will be back.

The Garden House is small but perfectly formed. It is however a lovely place to spend a night or two in the Yorkshire Dales.. it's also just a short walk from Giggleswick and Settle. One room living with plenty of charm, ideal for a single person, a couple or 3 friends (a bit like a bunk barn, but more comfy).
The green oak frame building started life as my shed, but now has a heated stone floor, cosy bed deck, mini kitchen, shower "room" and composting loo (it doesn't smell!) The bed deck has a double bed and there's a day bed on the ground floor. It is basic, but does have everything you need to spend a weekend in the Dales. The bed deck, WC and kitchen are in the eves.. but what the place lacks in size it makes up for in charm.
The house is at the end of a quite road, direct access to the fells or a few minutes walk in to Giggleswick or Settle

We have a lovely Georgian townhouse in the market town of Settle situated in the Yorkshire Dales. Just a minutes walk from the town centre and with the three peaks on our doorstep this is an ideal location from which to explore the local area. Enjoy the walking, riding, cycling, caving and a host of other outdoor activities. Home of the famous Settle-Carlisle Railway we have good parking and are only two minutes walk from the train station with a host of things to do in the area.
The Croft is a lovely spacious Georgian townhouse with gorgeous features and high ceilings throughout the house. It has been carefully restored and modernised by its owners to provide a very high level of comfort and convenience. The house has four bedrooms with the following amenities: 1. Master bedroom with kingsize bed - on suite shower, toilet and wash basins. 2. Bedroom with double bed (facing rear of house) - on suite shower, toilet and wash basins. 3. Bedroom with two single beds (facing front of house) - separate house bathroom on landing with bath, shower, washbasin and toilet. 4. Bedroom with single bed (side of house) - separate toilet and wash basin. The owners attic rooms which closed to guests.
Settle is a beautiful Yorkshire market town right next to Giggleswick in the Yorkshire Dales. You are assured of a warm welcome at any of the local cafes, pubs or restaurants that the town has to offer. There are many local activities such as walking, riding, cycling and caving in the area. There are local guides for walking and numerous cycle routes if you like going off road.
  • We stayed as a family of four in this house in Settle whilst on a week’s holiday in the Yorkshire Dales. I can truly say that it was an exceptionally positive experience both in terms of the house and locality. The house was so well prepared for guests. It oozed charm and comfort. Our host – Simons Mum – could not have been more helpful and sociable. We would definitely consider returning and would have no hesitation to recommending it to others. As for the location – it was stunning. Settle makes a superb base for exploring the breath-taking Yorkshire countryside. We packed in a much a possible, but in our seven days only scratched the surface of what Yorkshire had to offer. Settle itself is great to return to after a long days track with plenty of good inns. For our evening meal, we particularly liked The Lion (3 nights), Falcon Manor and Lister Arms (Malham) further afield. The Tourist Office offers a wealth of local knowledge. Neighbours and community alike were very welcoming. We tried to take part in local activities such as going on an organised dog walk on the Sunday morning – even though we didn’t have a dog! It was great fun. If you like the great outdoors, followed by a warm cosy evening with a glass of wine or real ale then this is the place for you. Enjoy it – we certainly did.

Holmehead sits next to the river Ribble on the boundary of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Its location offers a quiet and restful base to explore the Western Dales. Holmehead is in Langcliffe, 1 mile from the town of Settle and the famous Settle Carlisle railway. A myriad of trails lead from the house in all directions providing multiple choices for walkers and cyclists, and its proximity to several towns and villages makes for easy access to a wealth of activities, shops and restaurants.
The flat is a very tranquil, relaxing space located on a quiet cul-de-sac next to the river Ribble and Langcliffe mill pond. There are 2 bedrooms with double beds, which makes this flat ideal for couples, pairs of couples or solo travellers. At the bottom of the cul-de-sac is a garden where guests will have access to a large garden and shed with seating area. There is also a personal parking spot outside the flat.

  • Lovely position on the river and very convenient for Settle. Cottage is very comfortable and well looked after. We didn't meet Joey but Joey's mum met us and showed us around. We didn't need anything but she's local and is on the phone if needed. We had a great time, many thanks

  • A lovely little cottage in an ideal location for relaxing and walking but easy access to Settle - fab. Very small but fitted out thoughtfully to give you everything you need, feels bigger. Nice furniture and decore gives it a lovely clean and bright feel with a background soundtrack of the river.

  • Joey's house is so warm and cosy. The perfect place to come back to after a long day of walking around the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. We loved being so close to the river. The garden and ducks were an added bonus too! We had everything we needed to settle in straight away. Really appreciated all the local information leaflets and OS maps! My partner is Coeliac and there were so many great places to eat nearby but we used the kitchen loads to cook meals. Thank you :) Caroline and Jayne xxx

  • The Joey's house was clean, tidy and beautiful. There were all that one may need for the first time. Very recommended. Hope to stay there again someday.

  • Joey was absolutely wonderful. She was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. She prepared a special welcome package with info about the house and local area. The house itself was great in a fabulous location within easy distance to Settle but also within the countryside. Great few days holiday!

Bankwell cottage is the sister to Sunnybeck cottage in Giggleswick and they can be booked together, sleeping 11 if required. Situated in the quaint Dales village of Giggleswick, the cottage is very deceptive and comfortably sleeps 6 with 3 large bedrooms, (2 doubles + 1 twin room) large family bathroom and downstairs luxury shower room. The cottage has all mod cons, WIFI, private garden, off street parking, secure bike store. The cottage is very popular with groups and families and dog friendly.
Bankwell and Sunnybeck cottages are very popular due to the attention to detail and also their location. Both cottages have off street parking and walking distance to amenities. Bankwell sleeps 6 and Sunnybeck sleeps 5 we do NOT permit additional guests without the owners permission and additional charges will apply.
  • Carol made us feel welcome. Her cottage had everything we needed. It was clean, cosy and well equiped. I would definitely reccomend staying in Carol's cottage if you are staying in Giggleswick.

  • We had such a warm welcome, with everything provided to ease our stay. There were even treats and towels for the dog! The treats for us humans were over and beyond what one would hope for. The house is warm and cosy and well placed for walking into Settle or up in the surrounding hills. The children said theirs were the most comfy beds they had slept on. They were also astounded by the local sweet shop, the Tuck Shop, where it took all their effort to just choose from the vast array. We all had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this place for a holiday.

    Wanda2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Carol's cottage is warm, clean and very comfortable - we felt very much at home. The kitchen is well equipped and there was plenty of space for 6 of us in the living area. It is also in a great location - a short walk in to Settle, there is a lovely pub nearby (The Harts Head) and there are so many beautiful walks from the doorstep. The only thing that would have made it more perfect would have been some sunshine!

Giggleswick is perfectly located for exploring Malham Cove, the Settle Carlisle railway, and there's loads to do locally for both adults and kids. We'd highly recommend Carols place for families looking for a relaxing break.

We now have Wi-Fi. Based in Upper Settle our traditional Grade II Listed Dales cottage is central to all amenities; rail and road links, shops, entertainment, pubs and night life. Walking and cycling in the world famous Yorkshire Dales is direct from the doorstep.
The cottage dates back to the late 1600's and is all on one level. It comprises of a lounge, kitchen, shower room, one main bedroom and a further loft area with reduced ceiling height that hosts two further single beds. Gas central heating and hot water is provided by a combination boiler and a multi fuel stove is situated in the lounge. The kitchen has a gas cooker, microwave, fridge and toaster along with table and benches to seat 4. We do not have room for a washer and dryer but the local laundry is within one minutes walk. The lounge comfortably seats 4 and has a large flat screen digital TV and DVD. Outside space constitutes a private garden with BBQ leading onto the old lanes of Upper Settle.
Upper Settle has a quiet laid back feel with direct access to some of our countries best walking and cycling. However following any daily exertion the market town of Settle houses numerous pubs, cafes, restaurants, sports clubs and its own theatre
  • Lovely cottage perfect for a get away in a great location. Great host with tonnes of info for stuff to do in the area. Would highly recommended.

  • Stayed here for two nights post Xmas and couldn't have asked for more. The cottage was lovely and warm and everything's the three of us could have needed. Our ten year old loved her bedroom in the attic and our bed was huge!! Thanks Shaun & Rachel.... see you soon

    Gary2016-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • We spent four nights in the cottage and loved every minute. The cottage is perfectly located in the lovely town of Settle - up a nice quiet street but less than a few minutes walk to the town centre with all its pubs and restaurants. The cottage is so cosy and comfortable with a wood burning stove and fab central heating - wouldn't hesitate about coming up in the winter. The king size bed was divine and there were thoughtful touches which helped make our stay so pleasant. Great places to eat and drink all within walking distance but also great for self catering with a nice comfy couch to curl up with a glass of wine and watch a film. There is a lovely little stone courtyard out front where you can sit in the late afternoon sun and enjoy a gin and tonic after a nice days walk. We had a wonderful lunch at The Folly, some great cask cider at The Talbot Arms and visited the beautiful Giggleswick school chapel, The area has endless walks and picturesque villages to visit with tea shops, cafes, pubs galore. After a days exploring it was a real delight to come back to our lovely cottage and we would love to return again.

  • Really super cottage close to the centre of Settle. Really cosy and excellent value. We will book again

  • Had a really great few days in this truly lovely cottage. It has everything you could need, is homely and is located just a 2 minutes walk from the centre of town which offers a good mix of shops, pubs and cafe. The dales have some spectacular countryside to walk, particularly the area around Malham. Would (and have) happily recommended a stay here to friends and family.

    Jon2015-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was fabulous, it was so cosy, especially with the fire. The bed was very comfy and it had everything we needed. Shaun and Rachel provided us with lots of information about the area, pubs, restaurants and walks! Defiantly would stay again!

If you're looking for a romantic getaway destination then Austwick Hall offers style, service and serious comfort.

A wooded oasis at the entrance to Crummackdale surrounded by some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country. For a more leisurely day out take the Settle to Carlisle railway, voted the second most scenic railway journey in the world or visit the pretty market towns of Kirkby Lonsdale or Hawes to name but a few.
  • Staying here was a real treat after a long cycle over the dales. The house and gardens are beautiful and our room was very luxurious. The breakfast was great too!

  • A beautiful house and location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. James and his hosts were extremely welcoming and caring to our needs and offering advice. The room was perfect and we loved the bathroom especially the bath so peaceful and tranquil. An ideal weekend break and retreat!

  • My wife & I booked the Coronet room at Austwick Hall for a weekend break whilst doing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. It was quite simply perfect….a beautiful, homely house set in a lovely village. The standard of accommodation was excellent, especially the bathroom which had an impressive rolled topped bath & plenty of hot water, perfect after a full day of walking. James was the perfect host, making sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. He even laid out an early breakfast for us on the day of our walk. The cooked breakfast we had on the following day was exceptionally good. I would definitely recommend Austwick Hall & would return again if we visit the area. As the Hall only has four rooms, it would be an excellent place to stay with friends too

Woodlands was built in 1905 as a country gentleman's residence. Now beautifully restored and furnished in simple early twentieth century style.
Woodlands is a large house, but also homely and you'll have the place to yourself. So you've a choice of ten lovely bedrooms, grand reception rooms or cozy snugs.
Giggleswick is a pretty village with two nice pubs and shop. The lovely market town of Settle is a twenty minute walk across the river.
  • We had a great Christmas family gathering at this house and highly recommend for anyone looking to do walks in the Dales. With some basic upgrades in the kitchen supplies this property makes an ideal holiday gathering place.

  • Fourteen of us rented David's place for a Thanksgiving weekend, and the house was perfect. The location couldn't be better, within short walks of the train station, supermarkets and good pub food, but still secluded and on the doorstep of proper hill-walking in the Dales! The house is very well restored, with all kinds of great touches. We especially loved the piano and the fires! Strongly recommend. Thanks for everything.

  • A last minute break from Leeds with my partner. The house was everything I expected and much more: tasteful, relaxing and spotless. We particularly enjoyed the fire in the cosy Edwardian sitting room. Our room had a fantastic free standing cast iron bath and uninterrupted views out over the Yorkshire Dales. Settle and Giggleswick have many great value eateries. We ended up having a lovely meal together in the Golden Lion. I hope to revisit!

  • Woodlands is the most beautiful place, we enjoyed our stay here so much! Waking up to the views after a good nights sleep and then wondering around the utterly picturesque village was just perfect! We also really enjoyed the food at the local bub at the bottom of the road. We loved this place so much it was really hard to leave and we'll definitely be back again next year!

  • Great space for a big family get together. We had a mixed group from aged 8 to 75. An easy walking distance into Settle, where there are some nice shops, cafes and pubs. The views from the house were amazing. And some good walks close by. Overall great value.

  • Beautiful, stylish house with room enough for everyone. Had everything we needed for a large group of friends spending the weekend together. Great location as well, close to town with country walks from the doorstep.

  • Have just stayed in this amazing country house. David met us briefly and and let us choose which room we liked, we plumped for the four poster with its en suite bathroom. The house is a real experience, beautifully decorated and furnished, it felt like we were in an Agatha Christie film. The big farmhouse style kitchen is fully equipped, and we had fun eating dinner in the huge dining room…..not quite at each end of the huge table but we certainly got to feel like the Lords of the manor. Then there’s a lovely panelled sitting room with a real fire to relax in and enjoy. In the morning we had breakfast and enjoyed the terrace looking out across the green and beautiful valley, before setting off on a lovely walk to Stainforth waterfalls. The footpaths start right next to the house. Woodlands is superb, what a find, I can't recommend it enough and hope to be able to go back and enjoy it all again.

    Jon2016-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Woodlands as a large family group (including two children) to celebrate a special birthday. Woodlands was perfect for us! Everyone across all age ranges loved the house and the space. The birthday girl chose the room with the 4 poster bed and loved it! The location of the house is a short walk into town and the surrounding scenery is beautiful. And David was great to deal with. We are looking at ways to go back! Thanks again David, Natasha.

  • We spent a really lovely few days in the cottage. It was spotless, cosy and well equipped. No internet which for us was a bonus. Short walk into town. Settle is very attractive, friendly and welcoming with a distinct 'happy' feel to it. Lots of 'quality' independent shops. So many wonderful walks starting in the town with amazing views even when the weather is less than perfect! Thoroughly recommend it.

  • Perfect location with practically everything just down the road, very quiet road and very peaceful. What a lovely cottage, and perfect for our party size!! We went to climb the peaks and then relax and it was perfect in every way.

  • The cottage provided a fabulous base for our family of 5 adults to enjoy time together and some great walks in beautiful scenery. The house is a short stroll away from Settle town centre. The Tuesday morning produce market is a source of excellent cheese/bread/meat/fish/eggs etc - don't bring a lot of food with you as the fridge is compact: it is easy to procure supplies on a daily basis. We had a superlative meal out at Grassington House in Grassington. A wonderful 5 day break - highly recommended.

  • It was lovely to stay at this warm, well organised, spotlessly clean and welcoming cottage. A perfect setting to relax and unwind. We really appreciated the quality of the fittings/cutlery/beds/bedding. The aga was a treat, and tiled floor & porch area was very dog friendly. Caroline is very friendly, prompt and efficient. She perfectly tailored her advice/suggestions about things do and where to eat to suit our preferences enabling us to make the most of our stay. Thank you Caroline.

  • Once again, Caroline was a wonderful host and Marian cottage a delightful place to stay. It was a perfect base from which to explore Ingleton and the area, and to come back to at the end of the day.

  • We had a great stay at the Marian cottage if even for a short while. Caroline was more than helpful before and during the trip and even provided a home baked cake and milk on arrival. Lovely village to stay in with all of the local attractions nearby. Would highly recommended to stay here and hope to return one day in the future!

  • Our 3 night stay at Marian Cottage was excellent! We had everything we needed at the cottage and a Caroline was a great host to provide us with all we needed. The cottage is excellently located on the high street, just a couple of minutes walk from a variety of shops and places to eat. It is also very well located for walking out the front door and up Ingleborough or to visit the Ingleton Waterfalls. The cottage is very cosy with a lovely open fire, comfy beds and a nice bathroom. We would defiantly stay here again if coming back to the area.

Right in the centre of Ingleton so a great location for walking from the door, with the fish & chip shop right opposite for a post-walk treat! The kitchen was really well equipped with everything we needed, thank you Clarissa.

  • I have just enjoyed a lovely weekend at Jasmine Cottage in Ingleton. You could not ask for a better location from which to explore the stunning surrounding area. Clarissa the host made us feel very welcome and was at hand to answer any questions straight away. The cottage is cosy, clean and welcoming with a comfy bed too! Situated across the road from an award winning fish and chip shop and a short walk to all the lovely restaurants, I will certainly be recommending Jasmine Cottage to my friends and family.
