    Hale Alani is a 3 bed/1 bath 800 sqft home in Kawaihae, which is between Kona & Waimea (aka Kamuela). Spectacular view of the ocean and coastline. Less than a 5 minute drive, but not walkable, to the Big Island's best white sand beaches. Close to restaurants etc. Tropical decor. Very relaxing.
    Hale ‘Alani features an expansive, blue ocean topped coastline view. An easy 30 minute drive from Kona International Airport (KOA), 10 minutes from Waimea, and 5 from the Waikoloa Hotels. Feel right at home in this adorable cottage decorated with bright tropical colors. This 3 bedroom/ 1 bath home provides cozy, comfortable, accommodation for a family of six. Fully equipped with everything you need. While it is usually breezy, keeping the temperature averaging a comfortable 75-80F year round, there is air conditioning and fans should the trade winds take a break during your stay. We have just installed new luxury plank flooring throughout the house. Please note, there are a few steps down leading from the parking area to the front door. Grab the cooler, beach chairs, and be at the Big Island's best white sand beaches in about 3 minutes! It is a two minute drive to Kawaihae for a few groceries, a six pack, or a bag of ice. Kawaihae has a few great restaurants, too: the Blue Dragon, the Seafood Bar and the Harbor Grill. Instead of eating out, you could stock up on groceries 10 min up the hill in Waimea and BBQ under the palm tree while watching the sunset. Then decide between touring the island's many must see sites or simply relax and read a book in the hammock. Note: There is some traffic noise from the highway nearby.   • Mieux que la description. Nous avons apprécié notre séjour d'une semaine. En voiture très pratique pour les restaurants locaux, les plages, l'épicerie (5-15min). Super endroit et familial avec notre bébé de 15 mois. Grands équipements. Ressenti comme une véritable expérience Airbnb. Beaucoup préféré à notre avis qu'un hôtel. La vue sur l'océan dans l'arrière-cour pendant le barbecue était incroyable. Les étoiles la nuit étaient magnifiques sans pollution lumineuse. J'y retournerais volontiers si nous devions revenir dans la grande île

  • Nous étions très contents de ce joli petit endroit. Le coucher et le lever du soleil était absolument incroyable et l'endroit idéal pour le regarder. Vues exceptionnelles. A pu accueillir notre grande foule confortablement. L'endroit était propre, confortable et les lits étaient confortables. Les hôtes étaient incroyables et très gentils.

  • Petite maison plus ancienne intime avec une vue magnifique sur le coucher du soleil et le ciel nocturne de la véranda confortable. Petite cuisine complète avec grand réfrigérateur. La climatisation dans le salon et maintenant aussi dans 2 des 3 chambres, ce qui était super pour se rafraîchir car les nuits étaient chaudes ici près du niveau de la mer. C'est principalement un emplacement fantastique - à proximité de toutes les meilleures plages de sable blanc, Wiamea juste en haut de la colline pour les restaurants et les magasins, et au coin de la rue, Kawaihae n'est peut-être pas jolie, mais il a de superbes poissons, hamburgers, sushis, glace à raser, fruits / vendeur de légumes, boutique d'art, bar / restaurant local et incroyable restaurant de discothèque en plein air (The Blue Dragon).     Lovely tropical furnishings offering a convenient place to relax after a day of fun in the sun at several white sand beaches within 5 minute drive. Vintage ’70s worker’s cottage transformed into a real gem in Kawaihae (Village) Story and Photography by Karen Anderson “I call this my beach shack not on the beach,” says Pattie Freeman of the charming vintage cottage she renovated in Kawaihae Village. “Plus it’s only four minutes to Mauna Kea Resort’s valet parking!” These are some of the many perks of Pattie’s decidedly cozy digs she personally transformed into a showplace after downsizing from her previously larger house in Kohala Ranch. EZ Livin Cottage (Pattie named it) was built in 1971 for the workers at Mauna Kea Beach Resort as an affordable place to live and be able to own real estate. The little home with big potential is one of 50 old-school abodes nestled in a hidden neighborhood on the way to Waimea. And even though she can only see just a sliver of the ocean through the window of her back bedroom and front yard, the entire place inside and out feels like it’s right on the beach at Puako. Which makes sense for Pattie, aka, “Puako Pattie,” a Realtor with Mauna Lani Realty. A longtime South Kohala kama‘aina who for years had her Vacation Rental Business office right next door to the Puako General Store. After selling her vacation rental business she has gone back into selling homes along the Kohala Coast with her new affiliation with Mauna Lani Realty. Encouraged by her son, Pattie purchased the Kawaihae cottage 15 years ago as an investment property and rented it out long term through the years. She never actually envisioned it as a place that she would end up living. First of all, the yard had no landscaping (it was all dirt), and the thin walls had no insulation, not ideal for the hot climate of Kawaihae. The first thing she did was to install Pella triple-pane doors and windows, and then shore up ceilings with insulation. “The triple panes really help to keep the house cool and quiet,” she said. “These used to be jalousie windows with lots of dust flowing in. I kept the original framing of some of the windows and figured out a way to create cross breezes. In the mornings and evenings, I have the house all opened up. I also added some air-conditioning units, replaced the roof, and installed solar this year.” When it came time to downsize, Pattie tried to figure out how to make the 900-square-foot house be comfortable and spacious enough for her lifestyle. Good thing for Pattie, she’s an expert at organizing her closet and cabinet space, even creating art niches for her collections of Hawaiiana memorabilia, vintage ceramics and old-timey prints and paintings. Her biggest splurge was the kitchen remodel. She outfitted the kitchen with leather-finish granite. For the prep island,that she uses for entertaining and a place for serving Pupu’s when she is entertaining. “I like to be able to see things that I use every day,” said Pattie, whose jewel-tone glassware are in full view inside her cabinets. “I try to make everything pretty.” Pattie wondered where to put her enormous four-poster bed, as it would very much overpower any one of the home’s three small bedrooms. Her daughter Jodi, who grew up in Hawai‘i, suggested the concept of the pune‘e, or day bed. Interestingly, the four-poster bed makes the perfect pune‘e for the living room, at the same time delineating space for a meditation alcove on one side and a sitting area on the other. When Pattie is on island, works in her garden every morning savoring the beautiful views of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa from her backyard. After expanding the concrete slab, Pattie converted the patio into an oasis for entertaining. Most all the furniture she owns has been up-cycled or repurposed from second-hand sources, like the swivel-and-glide wicker chairs she found at the Habitat For Humanity Re-Store in Kailua-Kona(Waimea). “I’m the original recycler,” she said. “I’m always looking for deals.” For Pattie, living in Kawaihae brings her much joy. The peaceful surroundings fit her busy yet chill lifestyle, with her office and clients just a few minutes away. It also allows her to travel many months during the year.   • Ma fille allait se marier au Westin Hapuna, nous cherchions donc un endroit où séjourner à proximité, qui soit un peu plus abordable, et cela correspondait parfaitement à la facture. Très bien situé, calme, lits confortables, belle vue sur l'océan et les couchers de soleil, et avait tout ce dont nous avions besoin pour notre séjour. Arieh était un hôte formidable. Elle a répondu rapidement à mes messages et a formulé d'excellentes suggestions d'activités, de lieux de restauration, etc. Fortement recommandé si vous recherchez un merveilleux chez-soi! :)

  • C'est la deuxième fois que nous venons à Hale Kohola et nous l'adorons vraiment. C'est notre endroit préféré pour rester sur l'île et nous adorons tout. La douche extérieure est fantastique, la cuisine est bien équipée avec tout ce dont vous pourriez avoir besoin, les lits sont confortables, il y a beaucoup de matériel de plongée et de plage, et il est littéralement à 5 minutes du parking de Hapuna Beach (nous l'avons chronométré). Je souhaite juste que nous pourrions passer toutes nos vacances ici!

  • Très bien situé pour explorer les côtés nord et ouest de la grande île! Nous avons apprécié la proximité de plusieurs parcs et plages et la maison était propre, confortable et prête pour nous. J'ai adoré le linge et la douche extérieure. Belle vue sur la côte, et les chaises grill et arrière-cour étaient très pratiques. Bel endroit pour rester!

  • C'était maman papa et quatre adolescents. Superbe emplacement pour explorer le coin nord-ouest de l'île, du joli petit Hawi à l'animé Kona, en passant par les collines du superbe ranch du pays de Waimea, le tout en moins de 30 minutes. Great Pacific views. Et la plage est littéralement un court jogging tout en descente pour les amateurs de fitness à 2 km d’un magnifique parc de plage. (Pas aussi amusant de faire son jogging!) Mais le parc dispose de places de stationnement pour les moins en forme aussi! La maison était parfaite avec votre propre climatisation dans chaque chambre et une super douche extérieure donnant sur le coucher de soleil du Pacifique. J'ai pris une douche à dessein au coucher du soleil. Il y avait quelques insectes mais rien de grave comme certains endroits où nous sommes allés en Floride. J'ai adoré la cour arrière, mieux que les photos! Lit king super confortable dans le maître. Aucune plainte!

  • Notre famille de cinq personnes a passé un merveilleux séjour ici. L'endroit était très spacieux et bien aménagé. La cuisine était entièrement équipée et le garage contenait de nombreux accessoires de plage qui nous ont été très utiles lors de nos multiples excursions sur les plages de la côte de Kona. Il faisait très chaud pendant notre séjour, mais la climatisation était suffisamment puissante et apaisante après une longue journée de chaleur entre 85 et 90 degrés. Nous sommes très heureux d'avoir mis à niveau l'accès aux équipements des hôtels Westin et Autograph de la communauté. Les deux hôtels ont des points de vente et c'était donc vraiment agréable de faire la piscine à l'un pendant une partie de la journée et la plage à l'autre. Les deux étaient très faciles d'accès et d'accès. De plus, nous ne nous sommes jamais sentis comme des clients de deuxième classe dans l'un ou l'autre hôtel. Nous avions donc l'impression de recevoir toute l'hospitalité d'un hôtel quatre étoiles, mais avec la bien meilleure expérience d'hébergement (pour notre famille) que la maison de Marisa nous a donnée. Comme le coût de base de la résidence de Marisa était très raisonnable par rapport à de nombreux autres endroits que nous avons examinés, les aménagements supplémentaires n’étaient pas évidents.   • Nous avons séjourné chez Amy pendant 10 jours. Notre groupe avait 7 personnes et il y avait beaucoup de place pour nous tous. La maison était d'une propreté éclatante, il y avait suffisamment de serviettes, de serviettes de plage et d'autres commodités de plage à notre disposition. La maison est dans un beau quartier et est dans un excellent emplacement sur l'île. Nous avons absolument adoré notre voyage et recommandons cette maison à tout le monde.

  • Nous avons visité la grande île à plusieurs reprises maintenant, mais c’est la première fois que nous réservons et séjournons dans un établissement AirBnB, par rapport à un hôtel, car nous voyagions avec une autre famille (total de 4 adultes, 3 enfants). Quel bon choix nous avons fait. Cette propriété est incroyable! Le style et la qualité de la maison et des meubles sont exceptionnels. La cour avec piscine et jacuzzi (la nuit la vue depuis le jacuzzi était difficile à battre) était excellente et la vue était magnifique. Notez que la piscine est un peu petite mais qu’elle est idéale pour les enfants et les adultes pour se détendre après le retour de la plage. La vie à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur est très fraîche et la cuisine et la terrasse sont équipées d'appareils électroménagers Wolf de haute qualité et d'un barbecue qui a rendu la cuisson agréable. La grande salle familiale et toutes les portes coulissantes en verre de style accordéon qui donnaient la vue directement dans la chambre étaient confortables et relaxantes et faciles à apprécier (ainsi que la grande télévision pour les enfants). Les 2 chambres principales sont énormes, bien aménagées et disposent de très grandes salles de bains, de douches et de penderies. La 3ème chambre est de bonne taille aussi et a également une salle de bain complète que nous avons utilisée pour les enfants et il y a une salle de bain 1/2 dans le couloir. La maison était bien achalandée, il y avait beaucoup de serviettes de plage ce qui était très pratique, et il y avait de bons jouets / équipements dans le garage pour que nous puissions les utiliser (équipement de plongée, raquettes de tennis, boogie board, etc.). La belle salle de lavage était pratique pour laver toutes ces serviettes aussi! Nous avons payé un supplément pour accéder au Mauna Kea, ce qui en a valu la peine avec les 3 enfants, car le seul inconvénient de cet endroit, c'est que vous devez vous rendre à la plage. Avoir accès au complexe de villégiature a facilité la tâche à l'hôtel, tout en profitant des transats et des parasols sans avoir à trimbaler tout un tas de choses. Il est regrettable que le complexe du Mauna Kea n'ait pas de navette à utiliser dans les résidences, mais sérieusement, c'est un problème de premier rang au paradis. La seule plainte mineure que nous ayons tous eue concernant la maison, ce qui est vraiment mineur et assez drôle, mais que nous utilisions tous tous les jours, était que les pommeaux de douche dans chacune des douches étaient bien trop «fins» pour un jet, en ce que la pulvérisation a réellement blessé (en quelque sorte) toute personne qui avait eu un coup de soleil (je recommanderais plutôt une pomme de douche à la place). Mais la douche extérieure était une excellente option (pour les 2 maîtres) et une expérience de douche bien meilleure avec une fonction de pluie exacte. En ce qui concerne l'hôte, Amy a fait un excellent travail avec des réponses opportunes lors de la planification et lorsque nous avons rencontré quelques problèmes avec la maison. Elle était facile à joindre, très gentille et flexible. Dans l'ensemble, une propriété incroyable avec un hôte formidable que nous avons déjà recommandé à d'autres et que nous considérerons certainement la prochaine fois que nous reviendrons sur la Grande Ile.   • La maison est magnifique L'espace extérieur est super et nous avons trouvé la piscine merveilleuse pour piquer une tête en fin de journée. À cette période de l'année, il n'est pas nécessaire de le chauffer. C'est cool et rafraîchissant! Bien que la plupart du temps, nous ne préparions que le petit-déjeuner à la maison, la cuisine est fantastique avec des appareils haut de gamme et tout accessoire dont vous pourriez avoir besoin. Les lits sont tous très confortables et les draps super doux. Nous avons adoré les douches extérieures pour quelque chose de différent :-) La maison est joliment décorée et très bien située. Belle vue sur l'océan depuis les chaises longues de la piscine! Globalement, une très belle maison et l'hôte Amy était également géniale.

  • La place d'Amy est phénoménale. C'était l'espace parfait - d'une propreté éclatante avec beaucoup d'espace. Les portes coulissantes vous font sentir comme si vous étiez à l'extérieur même lorsque vous êtes dans la cuisine. La vue sur la montagne et la normale 3 était incroyable et les lits sont extrêmement confortables. Arrêtez de lire ceci maintenant et réservez - vous n'allez pas trouver un meilleur endroit sur l'île. Amy est aussi un super hôte. Elle était extrêmement accommodante avec notre vol tardif. Étant originaire du Midwest, c'est un peu pénible d'arriver à Hawaii, alors je pensais que nous ne pourrions pas revenir avant un moment.   • Permettez-moi de commencer par dire que nous avons passé un temps merveilleux dans le duplex d'Amy, c'est un duplex, mais vous avez l'impression d'avoir votre propre maison, très privée. La maison est très spacieuse et tout y est haut de gamme, y compris les lits très confortables. Trois couples d'adultes, six personnes au total, et beaucoup d'espace et d'intimité. Nous avons adoré l'espace extérieur et les portes coulissantes qui ouvraient la maison jusqu'à la piscine étaient tout simplement incroyables. Superbe vue sur l'océan, au loin et sur le parcours de golf dans la cour arrière, nous avons adoré regarder les golfeurs. La piscine et le spa ont fait la maison pour nous, le chauffage du spa est un peu déroutant au début, mais une fois que vous utilisez le système, il est facile à comprendre. Ce qu'il faut savoir sur la piscine et le spa si vous décidez de payer un supplément pour la chaleur (ce que nous avons fait), la piscine n'est pas chauffée, elle est chauffée. Lorsque vous allumez la chaleur du spa, celle-ci fonctionne pendant une heure puis s'éteint. Rien de tout cela n’est un problème, le spa se réchauffe en moins de 15 minutes (sachez qu’il ne fait jamais froid) et que l’eau du spa qui se jette dans la piscine chauffe également la piscine. Nous y étions en janvier et très heureux avec l’eau Temps, une fois que nous avons compris son fonctionnement (les commandes sont sur le mur de la maison, un code d’accès vous est donné). L'emplacement était parfait pour une utilisation, à 30 minutes au nord de Kona et littéralement en face de magnifiques plages. Nous n’avons eu aucun problème à trouver une place de parking sur le parking public du complexe Mauna Kea et de la plage publique. C'était un super endroit, base d'opération, pour profiter du reste de l'île. La maison est magnifique, très propre et haut de gamme, c’est une construction sur mesure. Pour nous, l'emplacement était parfait (la communauté fermée était une très belle addition). J'espère retourner dans la Grande Ile dans un avenir proche. J'espère qu'Amy me permettra de rester chez elle. Je recommande fortement d'utiliser la maison d'Amy si vous voyagez à Hawaii.
