“Well worth the drive for authentic German food. Best schnitzel this side of Fredricksburg!”

“Good Cajun food, (mostly fried)...but hits the spot when you are in the mood. They do have great crawfish I have heard when in season. We like to go there because they have a large patio where they regularly host live music. Mostly country and cajun with some sprinklings of folk. Most shows are free, some have a cover. If it is a good show it will get crowded best get there early.”

Parc
“Texas has three natural spring fed pools- one is in Austin, one is in Balmorrhea and one is in Lampasas! It is nice and chilly even during the summer heat- but make note that it is a sulpher spring! In fact, it was the centerpiece of the old bath houses that sat on its banks back in the days of the wild west when Lampasas was the last stop on the railroad heading west! The park also has an 18 hole municipal golf course as well as a small playground and a large covered picnic area that can be rented in advance by calling the city.”

Laundry
“It's the only place in town and they do a decent job. seem a little pricey but they have never ruined anything...so..... they do they dry cleaning right there, so that is a bonus.”

“I haven't actually been, I will admit....but a friend goes often and takes the most amazing photos of wildflowers and birds! I believe they have hiking trails. It is really close to the town square (like everything else, really...lol)”

Point of Interest
“Well, what to say about Spring Ho. (no, not that ho...!!) I have heard that the name was derived from a sort of "tally ho" sort of way...and that Spring refers to the natural springs that are all over this area, which I'm sure was quite a thing back in the hot summers of the wild west. So, the festival runs the entire week AFTER the week of July 4. From Monday- the following Sunday there are shows, kids activities, parades, booths for shopping, BBQ cookoff, street dances- fun for the whole family! Pretty much everyone comes home for Spring Ho! Book your room soon, everything fills up.”

Hair Care
“Stylish with rustic flare. They are usually booked. If you know you are coming, try to get in with Marcy. Reasonably priced salon. I think they have a full time waxer on board now. Call for available services.”

“Inside the My Girls building (where our new store will open soon). Sandra cooks up amazing hot and cold sandwiches for the lunch crowd! Well, I think there is more on her menu than just sandwiches but that's what we always get! Open most days for lunch and the occasional special Friday night steak night....call to find out more!”
