“This is the restaurant the birthed the Black Dog t-shirt. Large portions, great view of the harbor, feels like your in an old wooden boat. Food is better quality in some other places but this place has a long history, a great setting and a spectacular view. You won't go away hungry.”

Marché aux poissons
“Fresh seafood cooked to order. This place is owned and run by the two sisters of The owner of The Net Result in Vineyard Haven. Equally as full of quality. Take out only but sit on the wharf at makeshift tables and watch the fishing boats and fancy yachts come and go. Economical and delicious. ”

“Great little place in Edgartown where you can eat outside - if you can be seated on the outer fringe of the patio, they'll let your dog hang out with you while you eat. Some physical prowess is recommended in using the restroom. Jus' sayin' ;)”

“Both locations serve organic, fair trade coffee & espresso drinks, homemade baked goods, Cape Cod bagels and our signature breakfast burritos and sandwiches. Homemade soups and specials are also available in the off-season. The shops provide a fun, friendly, and fast-paced environment to get you going in the morning, afternoon or evening. Boulangerie
“Nothing says Martha’s Vineyard in the fall quite like a stop at Morning Glory Farm, the source of some of the island’s best and freshest ingredients. The farm, started in 1975, grows vegetables and small fruits on about 65 acres, and its annual Pumpkin Festival (set for October 14 in 2017) is a favorite Martha’s Vineyard fall event. Visit the large on-site farm stand for its locally famous zucchini bread and homemade pies through the end of December, and again starting in May, when the farm reopens for the season. Tip: Be sure to leave time to explore the grounds around the farm store, lined with pumpkins and seasonal arrangements. It’s a living postcard of New England.”

“Not really Scottish anymore, just a wonderful take-out eatery and bakery on State Road in Vineyard Haven. Not really walkable from the cottage (4 miles away), but is on the bus route. Gluten free and veggie options abound. Meals are made to order. Use the app on their website (scottishbakehousemv.com) to order ahead. They'll give you a pick-up time so you won't have to stand around and wait. They have picnic tables on the lawn if you only want to take out so far.”

“Yummy baked goods. And, Pizza Night at the Orange Peel Bakery happens nine months a year, from April to November. The suggested donation is $20 per adult and $10 per child. It might look like a private party, but it's not. During June through October pizza night is every Wednesday from 5-8p In May and November we switch pizza night to Saturdays. Pizza night is always weather permitting.”

“Visit the original location of the Black Dog bakery on Martha’s Vineyard! It’s in Vineyard Haven — you can sail there directly on the Nantucket Steamship Authority ferry from Woods Hole. This iconic restaurant is much more than a bakery — it has delicious hot breakfast right off the griddle!!!”
