Restaurant
“Ok, the food is very good as it should - Chef Nutting is serious about food and used to be the head chef of the Wickaninnish Inn. The staff tho can be pretty pretentious and attitudey. Whatever you read in the magazines are to be taken with a few grains of salt, as the investor gas friends in the publishing industry. You need reservations to enjoy the 'upstairs' whereas the downstairs pub is first come first serve.”

“There are two of these, and one is a secret spot, at Pacific Sands Resort. Great burgers, poutine, pork carnitas, delicious breakfast ciabbata sandwich, gumbo, chowder...the list goes on. Outdoor seating, with some cover. Watch out for the crows, they know a good thing when they see it...unattended.”

Boulangerie
“Order at the counter anything from a cheese bun to eggs and potatoes. This place has been a mainstay of downtown Tofino forever--the place we go to when the power is out, when the kids need a school lunch, when it's dreary and you need a cozy nook to read your book. Best to avoid in peak summer months unless you go early in the morning.”
