  • We had a wonderful stay at the Hare and Hounds and would highly recommend the property to anyone else in need of a city get away. We were made to feel at home as soon as we arrived. The cottage is beautiful and extremely well situated. Surrounded by stunning Exmoor there is plenty of opportunities for long walks - and even longer pub lunches. At the end of every day we looked forward to coming back to the cottage and cosying up to the fire after a long bath. The cottage has everything you need for the perfect weekend stay - the bathroom and kitchen were well stocked and easy to use, the living room was calm and relaxing, and the bedroom was cosy and relaxing.

  • Perfectly charming cottage in a hamlet surrounded by hills, sheep and babbling brooks. Lee obviously has an eye for interior deign, and the cottage is beautifully decorated. A visit to the Hare and Hounds can only be described as being good for the soul. Highly recommended.

  • We had a wonderful few days at the Hare and Hounds cottage. Relaxing and peaceful; just like we wanted. Perfect location to explore Exmoor the beautiful coastline. The wood burning stove was the highlight. Tim and Lee were perfect hosts; there if needed but leaving us to it.

  • For quite some time I've had an idea as to what a rustic English country cottage ought to be. This one was that and more. Generously appointed with everything an accommodation should have, a fine collection of books, set in a nearly idyllic setting with a slightly out of tune piano made this both a brilliant and serene setting for nourishing and recharging the spirit. Both Lee and Tim were perfect hosts who not only made us feel welcome but special. Anything that we needed or questions that we had were taken care of immediately. They provide a highly detailed and useful information package on local points of interest, restaurants, and pubs. The suggestions on local sites to visit could not have been better for us since they both took the time and effort to get to know us. We will certainly return in the future. In the meantime we will bask in the afterglow of the wonderful memories of our stay and anticipation of sometime returning to this idyllic stay in Somerset.

  • We've spent all of 2013 in airbnb places, and this was our favourite. A lovely, spacious and quirky 200 year old former pub nestled on the edge of Exmoor so perfect for walking, exploring and resting. An idyllic setting, and hosts Lee and Tim were exemplary. We stayed a month and felt like moving in permanently. A truly great spot for a weekend break, or a longer retreat stay if you want some peace and quiet to get some work done. There are three friendly doggies and we saw foxes, ponies and the elusive mole. Tim even broke out the archery set so we could have a go. Exactly the sort of experience that airbnb is all about. Highly recommended!

    Chris2013-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely quiet, relaxing place. Idyllic landscape, privacy and a very characterful cottage. The wood burner was dreamy. There were lots of interesting objects to see. The hosts were perfect and we had a lovely time. We loved the bath salts, soaps and creams that were provided. The decor was interesting. I would be very interested to stay at the Hare & Hounds again. Lush.

  • We had a lovely stay at Hare & Hounds, it is better than the pictures! The location is perfect & very relaxing. We would definitely recommend it to friends.

• A 11 out of a 10!! Lizzie and her husband Dick are a wonderful friendly and very welcoming couple. We needed some time to relax from a lot of stress and their little rustic Pottery Barn was just the perfect location for it. It's so cosy, quiet and comfortable. A wonderful kitchen and a sitting room with a wood burning stove, that makes the relaxing even better. The country garden is just my dream. With this amazing kitchen garden, where we was allowed to take some of Lizzie absolute delicious tomatoes and salad. Our two dogs loved the Barn and the garden very much too. Lizzie created this fantastic file, where she put a lot information about Restaurants, pubs, side seeing, beaches, shops etc. together, what helped us a lot. We enjoyed our 3 days relaxing so much that we have to go back! We strongly recommend this beautiful accommodation!

  • Lovely wee cottage. Nice location. Simple, but it has everything you need, including a lovely fireplace.

    Ingvild2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a much needed rest at the pottery, we enjoyed the beautiful gardens and walk and our daughter loved seeing the ducks and chickens in the morning. Such an idyllic place to getaway to. We will be definitely returning again.

    Tracey2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Pottery is a really lovely place to stay - we found it comfortable, clean and well equipped. The outdoor space is fantastic and there's plenty to keep the kids busy. There's lots of places to go nearby and we wished we'd booked a longer stay!

    Julia2017-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the ambience, the rustic barn and the beauty of the home and area - we felt very welcome and could be quiet and on retreat, or explore further as we wished. Thankyou. It met our needs perfectly for peace and quiet and tranquillity in a beautiful part of nature, though I can also see it would be great for families and children.

    Anna2016-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Rarely does something that looks perfect on the Internet actually turn out to be - The Pottery, along with Lizzie and Dick, however is one of those places. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived and comfortable and at home in the cottage. The cottage is thoughtfully prepared and well equipped but the garden and games in the barn make it quite special. Such a relaxing couple of days within easy reach of the coast that we didn't have time to do anything else, although there was lots of information on local places to visit. We visited with our two sons and two spaniels and all look forward to returning - if they're not fully booked!

  • This is a lovely little cottage. It had a copy of Country Life magazine on the table and it looked like it could have come straight out of the pages! It has everything you need; a very comfy bed, a little kitchenette, a beautiful shower room with lots of hot water. Tom and Fiona are the nicest people. Upon learning that I was intending to take a taxi from Taunton Station, they offered a lift and there was a fresh home-made cream tea waiting in the cottage upon arrival! They also offered lots of advice and maps on the best places to walk and seem very knowledgeable about the local area. They even came and rescued me when I got horribly lost one time! It's very good value, a great place to stay for having a nice weekend (or longer) exploring the countryside!

    Ruth2015-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely couple of days. We only wished we could have stayed longer. Fi and Tom were very welcoming and friendly. They gave us lots of ideas for walks, places to eat and things to do. We were welcomed with a cream tea and, being Valentines weekend, a bottle of bubbly. What a lovely thought. The little cottage was sweet. Immaculately clean. For such a small space, really well kitted out. The bed was very comfy. Although there are cooking facilities, I am not sure I would have cooked as it would have meant cooking in the bedroom but everything is there if you need it. There's a little patio area for your use if you can use it. February wasn't really the right time of year to take advantage though. We went in search of a "dark" area so we could stargaze. Sadly the weather wasn't on our side but it was still a lovely lovely place to visit. The surrounding area is beautiful. You'll leave with a yearning for country living! Not only wil Fi and Tom welcome you warmly, you'll probably be visited by the chickens and robin. We recommend visiting the local potter too. We'll be back!!

    Rebecca2016-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little cottage in a quiet, secluded location perfect for exploring the Exmoor coast and Quantocks Hills. Very friendly and helpful hosts; lots of information about the local area provided, including maps. Our weekend couldn't have been nicer. Thank you!

    Rebecca2016-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • How can anyone not be impressed by Fiona and Tom's place. It is fully equipped and furnished, extremely comfortable and spotless. Fiona and Tom are most welcoming and helpful. The accommodation is supplied with a great wealth of information about the local area, though your hosts will be pleased to add their own personal knowledge. We would recommend highly a stay at Orchard Cottage. Can't add any more except: go and stay.

    Ronnie2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was beautiful, looked exactly as in the photos, spotlessly clean and exceptionally well appointed. I cannot think of anything more that we could have wanted in the cottage and the only disappointment was that we only had 2 nights! Fiona and Tom are great hosts and can offer a wealth of ideas and options for things to do around the local area. We will definitely be back.

    Michael2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona & Toms place was beautiful and relaxing and we couldn’t recommend it more! The scones on arrival were an added bonus!

    Matt2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time at Little Orchard cottage - was charming and cosy! Fiona was a great host and made some yummy scones!! Would highly recommend!! Great location.

    Tamsin2015-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona and Tom was a wonderful host and we couldn't ask for anything better. On our arrival, even though we didn't meet Fiona at first but Tom her husband was there was to greet us. Fiona has taken all the time and effort to bake us some homemade scones with clotted cream and strawberries jam for our arrival. It was amazingly delicious and went down as a treat!! Tom made the perfect guide, with all the suggestion for the best places to visit and eat... Which was perfect for our needs. The cottage was amazingly beautiful, extremely clean and well organised... I would definitely come back again and would recommend anyone who would love to stay a lovely tranquil cottage and see the true beauty that Somerset has to offer. P.s. the Notley Arm's served the most amazing scotch egg ever!! Just a 10min drive from Fiona and Toms cottage!! It's a must go!!

  • We had a lovely few days in the Somerset region, which was made even more enjoyable by staying in the Old Wagon Barn. Chris and Marilyn were excellent hosts. The barn was very comfortable, we wished we had booked for longer than two nights. Would highly recommend.

    Janelle2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Old Wagon Barn had everything we wanted...a fully equipped kitchen, great shower and was furnished well. Stogumber is a lovely, very peaceful village to relax in. The homemade sour dough, marmalade and the rest of the welcome pack was a really nice touch. Chris and Marilyn were very friendly and helpful.

  • The Old Wagon Barn is absolutely lovely and is even better in real life than it looks in the photos and has everything you need to enjoy your stay - its a real home from home. Chris and Marilyn made us feel so welcome, all the little extras such as the welcome pack and cake on arrival made it feel extra special, and they went out of their way to help by providing table and chairs for our BBQ and maps for our walks. The private terrace outside the lounge is wonderful for an evening sitting in the sun and tasting the local cider. The area is beautiful with many walks straight from the door, and you can get everything you need in the local villages. The area is full of interesting things to do and there are lots of lovely country pubs for a drink on a long walk! We had the most wonderful and relaxing stay and we will most definitely hope to go back in the future. Thank you!

    Joanna2015-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Marilyn have a simply georgeous converted barn, it really is beautiful with luxury fitted kitchen and bathroom, plenty of space, original features, stunning views, the photos actually don't to it justice; it is in a quintessential English village, a short walk through the churchyard gets you to the village pub and the store, very friendly locals, it couldn't have been better, our hosts were delightful, making us feel extremely welcome with a lovely food basket and wine. It was perfect in every way, we had a magical time with some lovely memories. The perfect escape from the rat race. Very highly recommended!

    joanne2015-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely and humble stay at Chris and Marilyn's. They were such caring couple who had thought of everything right down to the fine detail of fresh homemade bread :) We will defiantly be staying again when we are in the area. Such a beautiful home and so cosy!

    Emilia2015-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Old Wagon Barn - it has been converted to a very high standard, lovely furnishings and very comfortable. The welcome basket with homemade goodies was lovely to arrive too. Stogumber was beautiful and we very much hope to return back for longer. I have no hesitation in recommending the Old Wagon Barn and our welcoming hosts.

  • Lovely place to stay! Really quiet and peaceful. We found it a little difficult to find, no street name but luckily we came in the day light and were able to locate the road - as no signal we were relying on our sat nav - so perhaps using the street name as well, rather than just the postcode may help in locating it! The bungalow was comfortable, clean and a cosy place to stay this winter! We had a long weekend here and enjoyed our stay :-) thank you!

  • Me and the kids had a lovely stay at Michaela's place. The cottage is beautiful and cosy and absolutely spotless. The location was perfect and quiet but within short drive of Dunster Castle, West Somerset Railway and beaches. Highly recommended and if we are ever in the area will definitely be booking again.

  • Cosy cottage on a small farm with everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Close proximity to the sights of Exmoor. Recommend riding the Somerset Railway steam train from Bishops Lydeard, which is 15min drive away. Despite pretty rubbish weather, we had a very enjoyable stay and would come back again.

    Anna2017-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is well-equipped, cosy, and in a great location. Arrival and finding it was straightforward (it is quite close to Taunton), and there are lots of things to do nearby. The information folder was great - we would never have known about the fossil beach at Kilve otherwise! Would definitely stay again.

  • I wanted a quiet scenic escape to use as a base on my own for cycling and walking. It was perfect. Daphne was very welcoming and friendly. The photos do t show just how beautiful their gardens and the surrounding area are. A great base for the Quantocks or Exmoor. But if cycling bring small gears!! Will be back. Nick.

  • Daphne's cottage was simply wonderful. We stayed over the Christmas weekend and so we wanted the stay to be extra special. And it was! We arrived and Daphne was waiting to greet us with delicious homemade mince pies and flap jack! The cottage was beautifully decorated which made us feel very festive! Daphne made sure we had everything we needed and recommended some lovely walks in the Quantocks and in Exmoor. The cottage was impeccably clean and very cosy. Perfect for getting away from it all. I would highly recommend staying here! Thank you Daphne!!!

  • We loved our stay in the Strawberry Barn. Stepping out the door into beautiful walks locally or in easy reach of the Quantock Hills, it is perfectly placed. Daphne gave us such a warm welcome with delicious homemade cake and an open invitation to use their gorgeous garden. The Barn is very comfortable and we very much enjoyed the woodturner at the end of the day. We will definitely return!

Our Steam Rocket has a truly unique feature - the side wall lifts up and out bringing the countryside into the lounge. Soft and subtle lighting on the deck, the wall and in the lounge creates an amazing chilled out feel to your stay. The caravan is a cosy couples nest! Luxurious feather duvets, fluffy towels, flat screen tv's, all round music, and colourful crockery. The Steam Rocket's compact kitchen has a fridge, 3 burners, a combi oven, and all the necessary cooking utensils. For added warmth on cold evenings there is a heater and a heated towel radiator, extra fleecy blankets for sitting outside in the evenings, and hot water bottles to toast your feet! The bathroom has a good sized shower, a wash basin and a ceramic toilet. Full wifi is available for those who enjoy contact with the outside world.
  • Our hosts Anne and Pete made my partner and I feel very welcome from the moment we arrived at the Steam Rocket. The directions we were given were very easy to follow and led us straight to the door. The location was perfect, remote enough for us to feel like we were really getting away from it all, but only a 5 minute drive away from local shops in Williton for all our food and drink requirements. Anne and Pete were very happy for us to use herbs from their garden to add to our home cooked stew and Anne provided us with freshly made sourdough bread and delicious Greek yoghurt upon request. There were even two slices of freshly baked cake waiting for us on the kitchen table when we arrived! We had a wonderful break at the Steam Rocket, a completely unique place to stay and somewhere we would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a short break away in the beautiful Somerset countryside. You will be blown away by how fantastic this little caravan is and how well Anne and Pete have managed to maximise use of space. If only we could have stayed longer!

    Rebecca2015-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • What an utterly wonderful place to stay. The description given was incredibly accurate (if anything I thought a little modest!) and the photographs give you a really good sense of what the 'Rocket' comprises of. The accommodation itself is smart, stylish and completely ingenious. For such a 'small' venue, you have everything you could possibly need, and beyond the necessaries it's full of thoughtful touches, like milk in the fridge on arrival, homemade cake, fresh flowers, a bird book and binoculars, lighting to suit every mood - even two coffee pots to cater for those who might want expresso over a longer pot sitting in the garden. Anne was as helpful to me as one could ever wish, advising me on walks, providing maps, offering lifts (being carless myself), while leaving me with plenty of space to enjoy the peace and quiet of the surrounds. I had an absolutely brilliant time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Steam Rocket, or to return, given the opportunity.

    Emma2015-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is the most ingeniously compact living space I have ever encountered! It most definitely is not your run of the mill caravan, and was a great fun place to stay. It was cosy even on a frosty night in December and I really enjoyed lying in the comfy bed watching the starry sky above us through the roof light. It was also fun seeing the steam trains passing by, just across the field. It is a lovely quiet place to stay in a very beautiful part of the world and Anne is a most welcoming and helpful host.

    Stephanie2016-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Steam Rocket is a marvel, funky on the outside, modern on the inside, with a fantastic view and its own outside space. On arrival Anne met us and showed us around, including how to raise the side wall of the Rocket as well as numerous other surprises, quirks, and great uses of space. We were also greeted with a couple of slices of delicious lemon drizzle cake, perfect after a couple of hours sat in traffic. The Rocket itself boasts quite a sizeable and comfortable bed, nice sized and well equipped kitchen dining area, a bathroom which dished out more than adequate hot showers over the week, 2 TVs, a stereo system and wifi. We wanted for nothing. The location is a tiny hamlet near Williton, from which you can easily pick up walking routes such as the coastal path and Coleridge Way, or take advice from the guide books left for guest use in the Rocket. The 7 mile round trip to Watchet Harbour was an enjoyable day. There are also a few nice pubs within walking or a short drives distance. Lunch at the Masons arms was fantastic, whilst an evening at the Bicknoller inn was very cosy and relaxing. The hosts were fantastic throughout, communication was great, they were on hand for advice or info as and when required, and even stumbled across us one afternoon when we were lost, guiding us back to where we should have been. And of course if you like Steam Trains...they pass regularly a couple of hundred yards from the Rocket! A real treat to see. Great location, accommodation and hosts. Thank you

    Marc2016-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Anne and Pete were extremely welcoming, showed us the perks of the steam engine and gave us a local newspaper to check out local event and allowed us plenty of privacy during our stay! The space is absolutely amazing the steam engine itself is a work of art and what they have done with the entirior blew us away, it was so roomy and comfortable and very modern with WiFi, two TVs and a digital oven aswell as radio connected to speakers around the steam rocket. The village was very quaint and scenic and the boardering towns were great to visit :) such a pretty area, I would highly recommend this space, extremely comfortable warm and cosy its was perfect for us! ... I forgot how much I loved hot water bottles !! Thank you both!

    Sophie2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay. Amazing accommodation and setting. Anne was very welcoming and always there to help but not intrusive. Very comfortable bed.

    Sue 2016-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Anne made me welcome from the start; the Rocket is exactly as described, if not better; you can't beat having a 1:1 scale train set to watch whilst chilling out on the decking. Definately would suit a couple as well as a lone traveler like me. I'll be going back next year, if Anne will have me. It Is a great central spot for lots of other places, walks etc. and you'll need at leat one train ride during your stay. A little Steam Rocket gem of a place; really dark and quite nights so you can moon or star gave too as well as bird watching. Please do not pass this gem by - just book it!

A uniquely appointed wood cabin sited under mature oak trees in our lovely garden. The Shack has one lovely room with kitchen area inc microwave, fridge and toaster. Items for breakfast will be left for your first night. These include homemade bread and jam, milk, tea and coffee and cereal. Well insulated so warm in winter and cool in summer. 3 miles to the coast. A short drive to Exmoor or the Quantock hills. Meet our chickens and dogs, chill on the veranda, or stroll to the very local pub.
The Shack comprises a good size room with double bed. There's a kitchenette and your own bathroom with toilet, sink and our special galvanised metal shower! As we are keen to re-use and upcycle as much as possible you will find many examples of this in the shack. There's the pallet wood wall and floor which was taken up from an old pub skittle alley. Lights and other features hand made by ourselves in reclaimed wood.
The Shack is situated in the hamlet of Torre (pronounced tor) just a few yards from the river Washford. The White Horse pub is just a few metres away, has a beer garden next to the river and otters can occasionally be seen. We are pretty quiet yet not isolated and only 10 minutes from the coast at Blue Anchor. Washford has a lovely quirky small zoo which has great indoor and outdoor play areas and is enjoyed by adults and children alike. The Steam railway (which is the longest in the country) stops in the village and the train is often heard from our property. The neighbourhood is very friendly and welcoming. Our property is set in a small valley and there are many trees around. The sound of birds ( Inc owls) around the shack is lovely and we regularly get nuthatches, tree creepers, long tailed tits and goldfinches to our feeders. Sit on your terrace and listen to the river and relax...

  • Lovely little stay at The Rock Shack. The hosts were very helpful and welcoming, as were the dogs. A very quaint and quiet location which felt private and relaxing. Inside the decor is lovely and every little thing has been thought about to give it that rustic country feel. I had no qualms with my one year old crawling around and exploring the shack, it was very safe for him. My wife and I also really enjoyed the complimentary homemade bread and jams which we had alongside a cup of coffee out of the supplied cafetière. We left feeling very happy and relaxed.

    Richard2017-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • A real hideaway. Quiet and peaceful and with a view into the garden watching birds and squirrels feeding. The space is well used with genius shower, and tiny kitchen space. Though small we had all our evening meals in, either buying microwave meals from a community shop in next village or buying salads. There are places near to eat out but we preferred to stay in, after being out for the day visiting this lovely part of UK. A short walk to Cleeve Abbey - well worth a visit.

Enjoy a relaxing break in our lovely stone built Victorian cottage, set in the pretty hamlet of Lower Vellow. Beautiful countryside surrounds the property with the coast a very short drive away.
Our semi-detached house is built on the site of a historic quarry, creating a charming garden of many levels. There is ample off-road parking for 3 cars on the gated drive in front of the house. A large well equipped kitchen/diner with a farmhouse table to seat 8, is perfect for enjoying mealtimes together. Leading off from the kitchen, is a practical utility room where there is a washing machine and tumble dryer and plenty of room for shoes and coats. Beyond this is a toilet room. Downstairs there is a comfortable living room with a wood burner to keep cosy on colder evenings, a digital television with Freeview and DVD player and a piano. Free WiFi is also provided. The highlight of upstairs is the spacious master bedroom with a super king sized bed, tv, ensuite shower and full length windows overlooking the glorious countryside. The other 3 bedrooms, which our children normally sleep in, share a family bathroom with a bath. The single bedroom has a mid sleeper in it. The double children's room has lovely views over the fields and is a very comfortable room for adults. Our son rarely uses it as he prefers the top bunk! As it is our family house there are photos on the walls however we will move as many of our personal possessions as possible, leave all the bedrooms with fresh bedding and empty the wardrobe in each room so you can really feel at home. If you have very young children, you will need to take care upstairs as there is no stair gate. There is however a door between the living room and the bottom of the stairs. There are some steep banks in the garden and some short flights of steps but we have never worried about these with our children. To us they add character and make the garden more fun. Steps from the kitchen door lead up to a unique garden with an interesting mix of natural features and those created by the original quarry. Butterflies, wild bees, owls and buzzards are regular visitors to Vellow. The garden boasts views over the surrounding countryside, a decking area with table and chairs, a gas bbq and chickens so you will be able to help yourself to their eggs. We have 3 young boys so have plenty to keep children entertained, including an 8ft trampoline, play equipment, play house, toys and books, however the toys can be easily hidden away and our house is equally suitable if you’re after a relaxing child free holiday.
We are situated just a mile from the picturesque village of Stogumber with a country pub and village shop. The foot of the Quantock hills (an ANOB) is a mile away, with endless walks, great mountain biking and more lovely country pubs. The West Somerset Steam Railway passes within ear shot of us with the nearest station being at Stogumber. From the house there are various pleasant walks from which you can see the glorious steam trains as they make their way through the valley with the Quantock Hills in the backdrop. Exmoor National Park, the harbour town of Watchet, the fossil beach at Kilve, Dunster Castle (National Trust) and the seaside town of Minehead are all a very short drive away. These are just a few examples; there are endless possibilities for days out to suit everyone.
  • This is a perfect place to stay to explore West Somerset. There was so much to do and the scenery was amazing!! We highly recommend a jaunt over to Woolacombe, via Lynmouth (the scenery itself is spectacular). The house is very functional, clean and tidy. It has great character and Polly and Nigel provided a lovely welcome pack along with some great tips and advice for what to do. Our children loved feeding the chickens everyday and going to see if any eggs had been laid!

  • We had a wonderful time in Pollys and Nigels home. It`s a lovely house with lots of space for 2 adults and 3 children, a beautiful garden and funny chicken. Polly and Nigel had lots of advice prepared and the house in perfect shape. We felt very much at home! You can do lots of things near Vellow, especially if you love activity holidays and we would come back any time! We can highly recommend Polly and Nigel!

  • Polly's home is lovely and they make you feel very welcome. The house is comfortable with spacious communal areas. The downstairs utility room and toilet is a bonus, as was the piano. It is their family home and she has 3 young boys so the bedrooms reflect this ( one of the rooms has bunk beds). However, we had 3 teenagers and it didn't bother them!! We really enjoyed sitting around the table for our meals and barbecueing in the garden. A fantastic location for those who like fresh air, the countryside and sea. Fantastic views in every direction with the fields rolling down to the sea from the Quantocks and Exmoor. So much to do either walking from the front door, through fields, over the steam railway track, a short drive the the characterful harbour at Watchet or heading further afield to Lynton etc . The cherry on the cake are the chickens in the garden , fabulous.

  • We had a great time, it's the ideal place to explore Exmoor. Our children loved feeding the chickens and playing with the toys and on the climbing frame and us adults loved the cosy front room with fire place. The house was clean and the bedrooms were a nice size and exactly as the pictures. The hosts were warm and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us, well worth a visit.

Willett is a working dairy farm nestling under Willett hill on the edge of the Brendon Hills and Exmoor National Park boundary. The farmhouse, situated to one side of the activity, was built in 1879 on the site of an older house, it is surrounded by traditional English garden of about 1 acre and is a family home, furnished in a shabby chic English style with spacious airy rooms. Room would suit 1/2 adults, a choice of twin or double rooms can be available. Continental style breakfast included.
There are lovely rural views from all rooms and a sense of freedom and space. Every effort is made to make you comfortable.
A march up to Willett Tower and back will get you going in the morning, Crowcombe Station on the West Somerset Railway is approx. 3 miles. Several good pubs, all approx 3 miles, have been cycled to and walked to. Otherwise it is open countryside on either side for some miles. For stargazers the night skies can be wonderful. 10 miles Taunton, 13 miles Minehead. Maps and guide books in house.

Large room in country cottage next door to quiet local pub. King size bed. Airbed available for child or extra friend. Bread, homemade jam, muesli, cereal, tea, coffee etc. provided for breakfast. Check in time is 4 - 6 unless you arrange otherwise, which is usually fine. Just ask when you book.
Large room in country cottage. Share kitchen and living areas with me. I am an artist and therefore often in my studio at the bottom of the garden. This means that I usually have cards and prints for sale.

  • Jane's home is lovely with a cute little pub around the corner. Clean and comfortable, with an accomodating host who was super friendly. Our only regret was that we didn't get to stay longer to explore the area and enjoy the garden!

  • This was my first stay in Airbnb and was an excellent beginning. Jane was very welcoming and I felt relaxed in her home. Lovely room and fantastic night's sleep in a huge bed with fresh fruit, muesli, bread and croissants available for breakfast! A beautiful cottage in a peaceful area, with a lovely garden. Jane was friendly and interesting and was generous with her time, spending time chatting and showing me her art studio. Had planned to go to Cleeve Abbey just along the road, but closed for a private function. What looked like a nice pub just 2 minutes walk away. Great choice!

  • Thank you. It was wonderfully relaxing opportunity for my sister and I to get away from it all and enjoy your beautiful home. The artwork was an added bonus.

Sun has come back by the afternoon as promised ! Thanks a lot for everything!

  • If you are in the region (even a bit further) this is DEFINITELY THE PLACE TO STAY! Magnificent quiet countryside yet with a pub full of very friendly locals. Sheila and Philip were helpful way beyond just being very nice and friendly. All we needed or had a some kind of difficulty that did not even remotely relied to the accommodation we got an excellent help. I can never thank enough. Accommodation was wonderfull and met all criteria for my disabled dad who needs to be in a wheelchair, even the shower was accessible with a wheelchair. We had one of the best full english breakfast I have eaten with delicious and very rich fruit salad to top it up. And the welcome cake we were given for the way, oh my god it was out of this world. Thank you for everything we had a wonderful time staying at your place.

  • Our stay at Wick House was excellent and could not have been better. The accommodation could not be beaten, the food was excellent and the accommodation was spotlessly clean. We will certainly revisit and recommend it to friends. The area is beautiful and well worth a visit.
