“While most people don't come to the hills to party into the wee small hours, Kellys Bar and Kitchen provides a great place to grab a beer and sit outside soak up the beauty of the natural forest of the Dandenongs. Built over 100 years ago by Jack Dodd for the Anstey family, Kellys has carved out a history all of its own, of a great place to enjoy good food with friends into the night. The reviews reflect the popularity of Kellys, and dining here is a true Hills experience. Offering a selection of local wines and beers, and providing life music on Friday nights, Kelly's is the place to enjoy the nightlife of the hills. Open from 3pm till 10 weeknights and 12am on Fri, Sat and Sun. ”

“Located in the cool climate of the Dandenong Ranges, Olinda Falls is a perfect place to have a quiet picnic, short walk and spend time with the family. The walk to Olinda Falls is only 350 Metres to the viewing platform and 500 Metres to the base of the falls. The walk itself takes between 10 – 15 minutes and is shaded from the carpark all the way down to the falls. There are picnic tables, running water, toilets and plenty of shade to sit in. Olinda falls is in the Olinda Reserve, which can be accessed via Falls road, straight off the Mt Dandenong Tourist road. ”

“Beautiful gardens (recommend Alfred Nicholas Gardens and Rhodedendrum Gardens), walking tracks and cosy cafes/restaurants (queue up for Miss Marples tea room)! There's also an extremely popular fitness track called 1000 Steps. Feed rosellas and cockatoos at Grants Picnic Ground in Sherbrooke. You could also go to SkyHigh which is the top of the mountain and take a view of all of Melbourne. For the kids, you could go on the Puffing Billy steam train which goes around a heritage railway track. ”
