“Hotel, bowling place and a rooftop restaurant with stunning views of the city! The “lookout” is free if you’re dining, or $10 to view if you’re not. ”

“The Rendezvous is the most famous BBQ restaurant in the city. A lot of Memphians like to hate on it because it's "popular". Don't listen to the haters. This place is fantastic. The food, the ambiance, and location can't be beat. Obviously you'll order ribs but I'd also HIGHLY recommend the Lamb Riblets and Sausage & Cheese plate. ”

“Disclaimer: This place is wild. It’s a nightclub w/o the usual crowd. There is a drum set on the dance floor. Tons of fog. It’s so much fun. Talk to us before you go! ”

Point of Interest
“Those who wish to get a little closer to the muddy Mississippi (and receive a geography lesson to boot) should check out Mud Island River Park. A monorail ride over the Mississippi River to this free attraction located on an island in the river itself. The highlight is an exact scale model of 954 miles of the lower Mississippi, from Cairo, IL, to the Gulf of Mexico. Designed using Army Corps of Engineers navigation charts, the mini river, which stretches for one mile throughout the length of the park, features all the twists and turns of the real river. You can see the Mississippi from the park, so wade in the model river while gazing at the real thing. The park is open from April - October.”

“Felicia Suzanne’s in Downtown Memphis has an upscale atmosphere and serves seriously superior food. The friendly staff serves Southern classics with Chef Willet’s twist including shrimp & grits, meat pies, crab cakes, chicken crepes with lemon butter sauce – each course amazingly better than the one before. The New Orleans style patio and courtyard make every dining experience (either inside or out) memorable. If ordering dessert, make sure to have plenty to share because the homemade peppermint ice cream and chocolate molten cake or blueberry cobbler tends to make folks a little greedy. ”

“There are quite a few stores in West Memphis/Marion Arkansas just across the Mississippi River, but Walgreens is the best option for something downtown. They close early, so be sure to plan ahead.”
