“Step inside The Met 5th Avenue, a Big Apple institution whose roots go back to 1866, and admire the Beaux-Arts Fifth Avenue façade and Great Hall. Make your way to the American collection to marvel at the epic Washington Crossing the Delaware by Leutze. From there, take a closer look at the magnificent brush strokes of Van Gogh's Wheat Field with Cypresses, found in the extensive European gallery. ”

“This bohemian hangout is Williamsburg’s original dine-in boutique theater. Nitehawk screens hot indie flicks and first-run features. It has two bars, one downstairs and one upstairs, so you don’t have to sit there scratching your beard if you need to wait for the next show. 1 718-782-8370 J, Z, & M train to Marcy then walk 10 minutes.”

“The Guggenheim is great because it isn't huge and the spiral building itself is such a great site to see. Check to see what exhibits are on - they have a very well curated collection of permanent works as well.”

“Yes, another bowling spot! Great with kids on a rainy day, this spot turns into a music venue at night and fills up with the hepcats from the local neighborhood. Excellent beer selection and good food on the bar chow tip. Roll away!”

“The Met Cloisters is a hidden gem. If you are in NYC for more than 5 days in the spring, summer or fall, I highly recommend going up to the cloisters. It's an old fort turned into a museum of European medieval architecture, they actually have brought over cloisters and other structures from abandon churches and reconstructed it into the building. Apart from that, they also have a wonderful garden to walk through where you can have a picnic. ”

Beer Garden
“I highly, HIGHLY recommend going there, and I can not say it enough! It only runs during the summer / warm months and its definitely a must-go. Its basically an outdoor food truck festival that takes place in the east river state park in Williamsburg (take the L train to get there or the East River Ferry). Its every (ONLY!) Saturday and it has an amazing view of the city, its by the water with a little "beach" (don't try to swim in the east river haha). Theres always different vendors that sell fun (and all kinds of) food. Also they have a little outdoor space where you can have beer and other drinks. Close by theres also a little venue with a flea market and local designers (check out "Artists & Fleas"). On sundays Smorgasburg takes place in Prospect Park in Brooklyn - which is also a nice option, even though I personally like the one in Williamsburg on Saturdays a little more. ”
