“Get one of each: Pastrami on rye with mustard; and a Corned Beef on rye with mustard – then try to decide which is better. Oh, and bring at least two friends to help you eat those two sandwiches, which are huge. Wash it down with a CelRay soda – yes, that's a celery soda and it's a perfect complement to the meal. (!?)”

“This bohemian hangout is Williamsburg’s original dine-in boutique theater. Nitehawk screens hot indie flicks and first-run features. It has two bars, one downstairs and one upstairs, so you don’t have to sit there scratching your beard if you need to wait for the next show. 1 718-782-8370 www.nitehawkcinema.com J, Z, & M train to Marcy then walk 10 minutes.”

Beer Garden

“I highly, HIGHLY recommend going there, and I can not say it enough! It only runs during the summer / warm months and its definitely a must-go. Its basically an outdoor food truck festival that takes place in the east river state park in Williamsburg (take the L train to get there or the East River Ferry). Its every (ONLY!) Saturday and it has an amazing view of the city, its by the water with a little "beach" (don't try to swim in the east river haha). Theres always different vendors that sell fun (and all kinds of) food. Also they have a little outdoor space where you can have beer and other drinks. Close by theres also a little venue with a flea market and local designers (check out "Artists & Fleas"). On sundays Smorgasburg takes place in Prospect Park in Brooklyn - which is also a nice option, even though I personally like the one in Williamsburg on Saturdays a little more. ”

Museum
“The Met Cloisters is a hidden gem. If you are in NYC for more than 5 days in the spring, summer or fall, I highly recommend going up to the cloisters. It's an old fort turned into a museum of European medieval architecture, they actually have brought over cloisters and other structures from abandon churches and reconstructed it into the building. Apart from that, they also have a wonderful garden to walk through where you can have a picnic. ”
