Also easily accessible to Philadelphia via the R5 train in Malvern or Paoli. Come and enjoy some peaceful time sitting by the pool, enjoying the outdoors or cozying up by the fire.
Our house is situated off a private drive on four wooded acres. This in-law suite has its own private entrance and is separated by a door from the rest of the house. It includes a full kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, TV/sitting room, terrace and access to yard including pool and gazebo. We welcome families to use the living room as an additional sleeping area for children. We are very happy to host your fur children and have a large fenced-in backyard for those pets that like to romp. Please note that our pool is open from about mid-May through September.
Radnor Hunt is in gorgeous horse country in Willistown, Chester County with rolling hills, picturesque old farms and ample access to local and state parks. It is also located near the towns of West Chester and Malvern as well as many local attractions such as Longwood Gardens, Tyler Arboretum, Historic Sugartown, Brandywine River Museum, American Helicopter Museum and many more!
  • Heather and her family were as welcoming and helpful as anyone could wish for. Very private setting in lovely horse farm country, plus they welcomed my 3 dogs, which was a Godsend! Very nice family and spacious apt. I would definitely revisit. This was a great find. Thank you all!

  • Heather was willing to respond to every question I had in a timely manner and gave me several suggestions regarding places to go and things to do in, and around, Malvern. The house was packed with amenities that were very convenient, including a fully-loaded kitchen and fenced-in yard for my dog to run around. The backyard is very picturesque, filled with trees, a finished deck and gazebo. I feel like I needed more than four days here.

  • Great location and total privacy - rather dark as surrounded by trees

    sheila2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We were coming to town with very little notice and arriving at 2 AM. Heather was very understanding / accommodating and the place was beautiful. We were visiting family in nearby Berwyn and Paoli. Other family members drove much further and spent more money to stay in hotels that weren't nearly as nice. If you are visiting anywhere in the Malvern / Berwyn / Paoli / Wayne area, this is hard to beat. There was a closet with hangers so we could get our clothes out of the suitcase to freshen up. There was also a clothes iron. There were drinks in the fridge and a nice coffee table book about the area. There's tons of space, and as you can see from the pictures, the yard is amazing. I gather that Heather would have been happy to meet us. But the nature of our trip had us feeling unsocial and we had lots of privacy. She did check in with us a couple of times via Airbnb to make sure we had everything we needed. All very much appreciated! The surrounding area is quite beautiful. Rolling hills with very nice (sometimes historic) homes on big lots, many with horses. The only downside to the area was that it was quite foggy in the middle of the night when we first arrived and there were multiple deer on the road. Drive safely when out in this beautiful country. The next couple of nights were clear and much easier.

  • The absolute most beautiful airbnb we've ever stayed at. Stayed for just one night and felt like we were on a private vacation. Heather was extremely hospitable and her communication was clear.

    Bill2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Heather and her family welcomed us with open arms. They were lovely hosts and provided us with everything we needed. Our pups were happy to romp around in the fenced in yard and we were able to enjoy the pool between rain storms. Thanks so much for your hospitality, Heather and Lou! See you again soon!

    Vivian2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Location was perfect. The in-law suite was beautiful and spacious. The stand up walk on shower is amazing. Everything was exactly as expected and more.

    Frankie2016-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first Airbnb and I must say that Heather has set the bar pretty high. First off Heather's home is beautiful and very spacious. Heather provides everything you could think about needing and then some. I really appreciated the attention to detail and making sure everything was a simple as possible. I told Heather I was planning a staycation for my girlfriend and upon our arrival we were greeted with a bottle of wine and a birthday card. Something Heather didn't have to do but was really sweet. We decided to cook dinner but Heather also offered suggestions for places in the area. I will surely not think twice about returning if I'm ever in the area again and you shouldn't either. This was the epitome of hospitality and comfort!

  • Thelma's house is absolutely lovely & pictured exactly as is. Her communication is excellent along with her flexibility in allowing an early check in. I know she can't always guarantee that, but it certainly worked out for us. I'd highly recommend staying at her house!

  • We immediately felt welcomed with a lovely Thank You card and a special treat for the 4 of us to enjoy as we settled in. The house is located in a safe little neighborhood, with easy walking distance to a group of shops (including First Watch -a Great breakfast restaurant- and Wawa's. Many sights within an hour radius-we visited Kitchen Kettle marketplace in Intercourse, PA and Shady Maple Smorgasbord (OMG! You can't even imagine..) in East Earl, PA. Beautiful Amish country. Our first morning we happened to look out the kitchen window while enjoying a cup of coffee to see a groundhog sitting on it's haunches enjoying his own breakfast! (Thelma has the kitchen stocked with dinner and cookware, microwave, stove and coffee maker, etc. etc. should you choose to cook during your stay.) The house was immaculate, with many new, modern furnishings. Thelma was quick to respond with any questions I sent...the whole transaction and our stay was seamless. Thank you, Thelma!

  • An authentic getaway at a farm-barn with the most welcoming and warm couple. They made me feel all homely and loved. The animals at the farm were very well raised and way too adorable. In simple words it was a home away from home. Will love to visit them again. The house was clean and quite. There is a beautiful trail right from their backyard. We found Starbucks and Giant very close. The place is in the middle of Downtown Philadelphia and Longwood gardens.

  • Linda's fiber farm is a beautiful and peaceful getaway located just a stonesthrow from downtown Media and Philadelphia. The third floor airbnb room is big, clean and bright with lovely birdseye views of the farm. Excellent communication and attention to detail. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning.

  • I visited this place in June of 2017. I found it peaceful. David and Linda are welcoming and sincere. The atmosphere is relaxing and safe. Their friendly cats and dogs paid me visits and the alpaca, goats and landscape provided the pastoral ambiance. I spent the day visiting friends nearby or traveling to Philidelphia. It's a nice, quiet place to come back to.

    Hannah2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • My 2 children and I have stayed with Linda and Dave a few times now and we have always felt welcomed and comfortable when there. The location is convenient and the house is quiet and relaxing. We will be staying here again. Thanks!

  • For my first experience with Airbnb, I needed a clean, safe and comfortable place for a friend who was going to be in town for about a month. Fiona’s listing exceeded my expectations. It is a basement unit that consists of a bedroom, a living room, a small but nice private bathroom, and a workout room. It was clean, comfortable and well furnished. Fiona and her family are very nice people. I recommend Fiona’s place to anyone looking for a clean, safe, and comfortable place that does not have to be near the public transportation system.

  • I had a great stay in Radnor with Fiona and Rob! I stayed here for a period of 3-4 weeks while I found an apartment in Philly and they made me feel right at home. The room in which I stayed was excellent. It is in the basement and is large with a lot of drawer/cabinet space to put my personal belongings. I also got my own bathroom, refrigerator and TV Since it is in the basement it is a very private space. The house is very clean and homey. I liked hanging out upstairs and with the family, occasionally I joined them for a few beers and a movie! I can't forget to mention the two dogs and the cat! Holly and Pepper, the two dogs, are so friendly and full of love. Bailey, the cat, is also super cute and friendly. These guys are always around and also made me feel right at home. Overall, the location is really great. As a grad student at Villanova, this is a great location. The university is only a 10 minute drive away, as are other universities. I would definitely recommend this homestay for anyone visiting schools or moving to Philly for school. King of Prussia (big shopping area) is also only a 15 minute drive away; there is anything and everything you can think of and this was especially helpful for when I was looking to buy things for my apartment. I really enjoyed my stay with Rob and Fiona, they always had helpful tips and advice about the area and were always willing to help me out with any questions or concerns that I had.

  • We stayed in this house for 40 days. We can say that it worth every penny we paid. An outstanding house and treatment from hosts. Cherie and her husband were fabulous couple. They tried their best to make us comfortable. Many thanks to them

  • Cherie is a great host! She was very communicative from beginning to end. The house was impeccable and she left out plastic utensils and cups for us to use. She also left a graduation balloon, a nice welcome detail as we were celebrating a Villanova graduate in the family. We were a family of 8 staying at her home and we fit very comfortably. Her instructions were helpful upon arrival and she was available throughout our entire stay. I recommend this home with my eyes closed.

    Alexis2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent stay. My friends and I and our families stayed one night to go to our Villanova reunion and there was a cute gift basket for us upon arrival and a cute note welcoming us. The house was really nice and only 10 minutes from Villanova campus. There was a spacious kid friendly den with toys and a great fenced in backyard with a playset. We had kids ages 3-7 and all were entertained. There was a beautiful kitchen and a screened in porch that was great for the adults to hang out in. Everyone kept saying how nice the house was and how much we enjoyed staying together in the house instead of a hotel.

  • Cherie has great follow up and answers all questions promptly. Her location was great for our wedding party so we could all be together. She's within a 5 min drive from breakfast restaurants etc. Her home is so well designed and welcoming. Cherie, you have a beautiful home and thank you so much for sharing it with us. She has instructions everywhere to be helpful and even left us a gift basket of wedding necessities that actually came in great handy!

Relax and refresh in the peaceful atmosphere of a serene farmhouse on a working horse farm. Close to the city, but far enough to be away from it all, animals and serenity await your visit. Your gracious host also offer you the additional opportunity to partner with horses for your own personal change and transformation. Peaceful farmhouse with gourmet kitchen and stunning pool with hot tub.(In season during the summer.) The private guest suite features a king size bed and a private full bathroom. Enjoy the professional size pool table in the game room! There are dogs who live in the house, but they will not be in your bedroom. Excellent for couples and SAP executives. Free parking available.
Edgmont Township is a rural area where pastoral farms still dot the countryside as you drive towards our residence. Close to shopping, but far away from it all, it is the perfect location for peace and quiet. You do, however, need a car to get around. It is not convenient for public transportation.
  • I was here for an extended stay from the end of May to the beginning of August. My time here was absolutely amazing. I adore Mindy and her family! Everyone is so social and kind -- there really is never a dull moment. She is beyond accommodating and more than willing to do what she can to make sure you are comfortable. It is also a GREAT place to stay if you are bringing a dog with you! I brought my big lab and she LOVED the farm, the other dogs, the people, and the pool. Trust me, you are paying to have a comfortable stay and a good time. 5/5, would stay here again next summer.

  • A pleasanf stay, loved the surrounding area and the animals.

    Irma2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • My grandma, mother, and I had a great time at the farm. Mindy was extremely welcoming and accommodating. She provided a clean room, clean towels, cheerful conversation, and access to the kitchen and pool. Mindy is a kind hostess and was very welcoming. She showed us around, gave us some recommendations for places to visit in the area, and then gave us total privacy. She was great.

    Katie2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic place to stay. The house is large, well decorated, and very comfortable. There are multiple bedrooms, a pool room, and a pool deck with a hot tub. You can spend a really nice evening relaxing with the spa jets, star gazing in the fresh country air. Farm animals -- chickens, pigs, a goat -- all live in and around the barn on the property, but are never in the way. Horses run freely in the nearby field and you can see them silhouetted in the night from the upstairs bedroom, which is very cool. Mindy, the host, is one of the most emotionally intelligent individuals you will ever meet. She cares very deeply for her animals and is equally friendly to her guests. She was determined to fix a small mechanical problem with the spa that came up unexpectedly, and by dusk she had made good on her efforts. She even threw in a six-pack for the trouble. She is a really uplifting person and it's nice to stay some place where you feel looked after. Mindy is easy to reach and as such, planning was a breeze.

  • One of the best Airbnb experiences I've ever had. Scott and Mindy were extremely professional with their communication from beginning to end of our entire stay. On the day of our departure Mindy even gave us a tour of her barn which included horses, pigs, cats, a goat and of course her dog honey bear. House was beautiful, clean, and extremely well kept and decorated. Would definitely visit again!

My place is close to restaurants and dining, family-friendly activities, art and culture, corporate offices, state park, botanic gardens. You’ll love my place because of solitude, convenience, the comfy bed, the kitchen, the coziness, it's clean, tidy and new. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.

  • Beautiful place and delightful host. comfortable beds, quiet, easy access to West Chester. Clean. Tall set of stairs to second floor rooms. Our own bathroom. Laundry room with ironing board made our crushed clothes look presentable. Mike was very easy to be with although he was often out and about.

    Melanie 2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Mike was an outstanding host. We rented the entire home to attend WCU graduation. Mike's home was spacious, clean, beautifully decorated, lots of natural light...which I loved! The home (with 2 bedrooms) was immaculate and the beds were super comfy. Mike was traveling so we did not get the opportunity to meet him, but he was very responsive and had a friend available to us should we need anything. Mike left well written instructions pertinent to the home and checkout. Well worth the money! I highly recommend this to anyone traveling to the West Chester area.

This room is perfect for the Queen who does not wish to ascend the stairs to the second or third floor. Entrance, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and all common areas are on one floor. Massive queen bed with lots of pillows for your comfort too. This room does not have a closet but has a coat rack.
Three story stone gate house built in 1911 for Theophilus Chandler estate. Called "The Castle" by neighbors. Marble entry hall leading to marble stair case to 2nd floor. Six beautiful fireplaces in various rooms including the dining room, living room and this bedroom.
  • GREAT stay! Our reservation was last minute and the drive took 2 hrs longer to get to PA than expected with traffic. Sam was very understanding and accommodating with our check in and the timing changes. The bed was VERY comfortable, rooms very clean and great water pressure in shower! The location was perfect for our Villanova visit. We only stayed one night but would definitely stay again if in the area. My only constructive observation was the AC unit in the room started off with your normal quiet humming but seemed to turn into a louder banging noise during the night which woke both of us up. Also, having a mirror in the guest room would help for getting ready if others needed to use the shared bathroom.

    Katherine2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Nice neighborhood, very nice guy, room was okay, upstairs bathroom was clean which is good, kitchen was kind of messy to me especially since people are staying in the home. There are many rooms in this house so you may be living with other people which is fine if you are okay with that. The house itself is pretty cool looking and it does have that Victorian feel to it. This is my own honest personal review. Overall I'd say it was okay. Not great, not horrible but okay.

    Ashley2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sam was a very generous host and kept his place clean. Bed was comfy and the room was plenty spacious for two.

    John2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sam's (host) castle is a lovely historic building set in a very scenic area. It was everything we were looking for: comfortable bed (with memory foam), clean bedroom and bathroom, quiet atmosphere, and safe area. Each room in the house is unique. Our particular room had floor to ceiling books with many different genres, which was perfect for me because I love books! A wifi password is provided, which my mother and I used to watch Netflix on a personal laptop. It worked flawlessly. Sam was gracious enough to clear out some shelves in the refrigerator for us to use. The central air was broken in the house but Sam made sure our room had a window AC unit and that our room was cool upon our arrival. The doorknobs keep with the look and feel of the house (no locks); however, we did NOT have any issues. A couple of things are in disrepair but they were not necessities for our stay. Everything we needed we had, including our own key to the house. Everyone was friendly and helpful. If you need a place to stay in the Villanova area, definitely consider this place! Thanks again Sam!

  • This was our first Airbnb trip, and it may have spoiled us for others. We spend about 40 nights a year in hotels, cruises or B&B’s, and I am very cost-conscious, so we’ve seen the good and bad of lodging. I usually use Trip Advisor to negate those bad experiences, but just used the website this time. From the start it was apparent that we were in the right place. Sam responded within an hour to my initial request, and then continued to provide quick and friendly responses to some of my other questions. So much so that we developed a relationship even before our arrival. Because of the distance we were traveling (360 miles), we were schedule to arrive a little late for most B&B’s, but was no problem for Sam. We arrived in the dark and rain, and saw the castle on the hill. Honestly, in the dark rain with lightning in the sky, It felt like the beginning of the Rocky Horror Picture Show! Alas, there was no fun party awaiting us, but instead Sam and the beginning of a great stay. The house is actually a 3-story large gatehouse from an old mansion that used to be on the site. Inside the nicely decorated rooms you’ll find arched doorways, castle windows and period floors. Our room was the Queen of the first floor, but there were several upstairs as well. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom quite clean. (a real concern for my wife). We also had access to the kitchen and fridge, and every morning Sam had coffee, tea and mugs out and waiting. Sam was happy to provide us with info about the area, and made suggestions for our visit. He reached the right balance of being involved and available, without being imposing. We met other guests while there as well, a mix of short-term and longer stays. He’s happy to serve both, and has had guests stay for long periods while transitioning to and from the nearby university. The long and the short of it? My first experience with Airbnb was a great one, made possible by a great host with a great facility. I couldn’t recommend Sam and his “Castle” more.

  • Huge thank you to Sam, Rita , and their Golden Retriever Harry for welcoming us into their beautiful home. We loved the comfort of the Library Room and appreciated every detail and effort made to make us feel comfortable. Our golden retriever Shaggy appreciated the Pet friendly environment, the new friend, and we couldn't be more greatful to have found this location. Quiet, beautiful, and comfortable place for anyone. Running trail with steep hills only 3 minutes away (in half shade). The castle is located near the Azie shopping plaza (Starbucks and Anytime Fitness), 5 minutes from Estia (fine dining), 20 Minutes from Shady Grove Fert., and about 35 min from the Philadelphia depending on traffic. Highly Recommended.

  • I was fatigued from my long drive and they were kind enough to carry some of my bags. I changed my arrival once to delay it one day, then extended my stay by two days due to car trouble! NO PROBLEMS from my hosts; they were extremely obliging and helpful! Third floor 1700s or 1800s farm house, beautiful view, wonderful bathroom with old school tub - shower on 2nd floor as well - that I could prop my neck on and stretch out my legs completely under water! I'm 5-11 :-) It was hot and humid during my stay and the window mounted A/C was perfect. Very comfy room. Also room in a second fridge for personal food, plus complementary breakfast of eggs, nummy Trader Joe oatmeal and tea! Beautiful area, quiet, 10-15 minutes from downtown Media. Extremely relaxing and friendly! I intend to stay there whenever I visit the area! Good selection of books in the hallways. Enjoyed reading on the porch in the evening, or walking around the fields, (EMAIL HIDDEN)pletely recommend without any reservations!

  • My teenage son and I spent three nights over Thanksgiving weekend at the Fiber Farm. Our only regret is we didn't have more time there! The farmhouse was built in the mid 1800's. It has lived-in charm and offers travelers a warm and relaxed setting to rest. Linda and David are welcoming hosts. They patiently allowed family and friends to come traipse around the farm and through the house. Linda provided education on the lives of the animals. David shared his art of craftsman woodworking. Don't be scared of the third story climb. It's divided into four smaller sets of stairs and easily manageable. I'm a large woman and easily navigated the steps. The rooms are simply furnished and the beds are comfortable. There are no TV's! There is wireless Internet which allowed my teenage son to watch online movies late at night (with earbuds). The home is very quiet and peaceful. I slept like a baby. We left our bedroom doors open during the day & at night to allow the four legged furry friends access. There is a cabinet filled with a variety of tea. Half the fridge is available to guests. Although we did not prepare meals at the house, the kitchen offered an inviting opportunity to do so. If you are looking for a unique, genuine old farmhouse setting, this is a splendid choice. Next time we are in the Media area, we are staying here. My in-laws, who live down the street in a retirement community, will be recommending Fiber Farm to other community residents with visiting family. Highly recommend!! Thank you Linda and David for your gracious hospitality.

  • Best airbnb experience ever. Mindy is the nicest and really takes care of you, and her two dogs are absolutely adorable. The house itself is large, very clean and comfortable. It's located in a beautiful area near the woods, which was a lovely escape from Philly. I didn't want to leave!

    Yanni2017-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Mindy is an awesome host and a very interesting, open and welcoming person. She went above and beyond making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The room was very clean and well appointed. I had business in Wilmington and brought my 19 and 10 year old sons along with me. While I was away at my business meeting, the boys had a great time in the pool, hanging with a gang of the most lovable and friendly dogs, feeding the horses, and enjoying the quiet seclusion of the working horse farm. Whether you are traveling alone or with your family, on business or vacation, I would recommend this as a top Airbnb experience.

  • **This was my first Airbnb** Mindy was as nice and genuine then anyone I have met! And she was kind enough to allow me to meet her horses who were all great! She is an amazing person to get to know and I is worth the trip to her property to just interact with someone as exceptional as her. The house itself is beautiful and very quiet! The room was very private and clean! And Mindy was kind enough to provide towels and shower supplies because I forgot mine. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a place to stay in the area book this property. And I look forward to coming back to the property soon!o

The nearby State Park is beautiful and full of hiking and horse riding trails. There are restaurants, a grocery store and a movie cinema nearby, but the real catch is being surrounded by the beauty of the landscape.

  • You'll love your time in this peaceful space. Mindy is the host on site and she has created an environment that is a joy to experience. The only problem with booking this stay is you won't want to leave when the time comes. It is 20 minutes "off the beaten path" but the drive through the Pennsylvania countryside is gorgeous. Room includes heat/AC and radiant heat flooring which was a surprise for us. The dogs are very sweet and I was impressed by their great behavior.

    Drew2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • I would not call this space a bedroom. It is more like an anteroom or perhaps a small tiled storage area with windows. There is nothing “homelike” about it. My brother and I expected “2 single beds, 1 sofa bed,” as listed, but we found only one single bed and one sofa bed. He took the single bed and I was left with the little sofa bed, which had a strange, foam mattress, too large for the sofa bed, several inches higher on one side than the other. In the middle of the night I had to drag this mattress off the “bed” and rearrange it to lay flat. The bedding too was awkward and dense, with unseasonable flannel sheets and a huge bedspread, much too big and heavy for the sofa bed. I wished I had brought my own pillow. (Actually, I wished I had brought my own bed.) If there is a “completely private bathroom,” we did not find it. There is a shared half-bath down the hall and a shared full bath at the end of the house, past the kitchen. Finding the half-bath in the middle of the night, without light, was treacherous, as it required navigating a few steps. (Please leave night-lights on in this confusing space.) In the morning we had to make our way to the full bath at the other end of the house, past the kitchen full of people, in our nightclothes (we didn’t expect to need bathrobes). Finally in the shower, we found no body soap. Did I mention the “dog”? Yes, there is a dog – and in fact there are two, one very large dog that snarled at my brother. I tried to avoid him (the dog) the rest of my stay. I’m not sure who “Scott” is – or if he actually exists. Mindy was our hostess. When we first arrived we had difficulty finding our way into the house. Does the doorbell work? Did we have the wrong door? We stood out on the stoop in the dark for quite a while, banging on the door, until finally Mindy came to our rescue. As it turned out, she was very busy preparing for a huge party that she was hosting the next day. We didn’t see her again the whole weekend. Why did we stay two nights? The accommodations took us by surprise. I’ve stayed in Airbnb homes before and never had problems. We were too exhausted from our travels to complain. We didn’t have the energy to look for another place that first night and we couldn’t take the time to relocate the next day due to other plans. If I were a demanding kind of person, I would ask for a refund for our two nights’ stay. The accommodations were simply nothing like we were expecting from the listing.

As your host I look forward to welcoming you to the area and providing you with a carefree and comfortable stay along with any local knowledge or directions you made need. Your room has a queen size bed and desk with large windows and lots of light. I also have a 2nd bedroom with a double bed that can be made available for an additional person or two. Located near Longwood Gardens, SAP, Great Valley Corporate Center, Radnor Hunt, West Chester, Main Line, King of Prussia, Philadelphia, Wilmington, Brandywine Valley Attractions and Philly airport.
My neighborhood is quiet with many trees while being a short drive to great restaurants, supermarkets, local businesses, corporate centers, parks and attractions. Mainline Philadelphia and the Brandywine Valley are beautiful rural/suburban areas where you can relax in the countryside while also being close to shops and restaurants.
  • Mike was a very generous host and well prepared. I had a great time and the only regret I had was that my schedule did not allow for more time talking with him. The room was spotless as is the bathroom which I had to myself. I especially enjoyed sitting at the kitchen table and having a good coffee, highly recommended if you are not in a hurry. As far as location goes. Perfect if you need to work @SAP. Located center between bars (West Chester) and the office it is great for short travel times or quickly changing closing on the way to dinner.

  • This is a gem of a home-totally clean & tidy, just like in the photo. The bathroom was next to the bedroom. Michael was a great host & advised us of places to eat, how to locate a running trail nearby, & we were able to keep our food cold in his refrigerator for the 2 days. Also had lots of closet space. We were able to come & go as needed. Thank you for the opportunity of meeting you.

  • Traveled to Newtown Square to visit family and found Michael's accommodations extremely comfortable. This was my first airbnb experience and Michael made me feel very comfortable and answered all of my rookie questions. Enjoyed a wonderful visit and hope to return in the near future!

  • Staying at Michael's property was great! The room and restroom were very nice. The property is located near everything we wanted to see. Great experience overall!

  • The room was beautifully decorated and clean, as was the entire residence. Soaps, powder, clean face cloths rolled up in a basket, anything you could possibly want was available in the private bathroom. WiFi was easy to access. Mike had breakfast foods available, too. We did not get to see Mike, but we communicated through written notes and text messages. We wanted to come in a little earlier that day, which he graciously made possible. We got in after midnight and felt safe and welcome, as he had lights on to make sure we didn't fumble/stumble about. This was our first Airbnb experience and I admit that both of us were a little nervous. After we got settled in, we felt entirely comfortable and thought, "This is great!" Quiet community, as well, by the way. Lovely weekend away.

  • A friend and I stayed with Michael in August while Attending Made In America, Michael was the best host he made us feel welcome gave us full access to his home even shared his breakfast with us. Michael's home is very beautiful it looks exactly like the pictures very nice and quiet but close to a lot of stores and restaurants!

Beautiful and stately three-story, stone gate house designed by and built and for renowned architect Theophilus Chandler's estate and completed in 1911. The main property is no longer standing. The gate house which the neighbors call "The Castle" is all that remains. Currently offering three rooms for guest rental with one on 3rd floor in this listing and two on the 2nd floor in a separate listing (see photos). Off street parking and a little over a mile to Villanova University. No cats.
The 3rd floor bedroom is serene and tranquil. Guest can open up the two large windows to get a wonderful crossbreeze by day and close the blinds and lined curtains at night for deep dark sleep mode. The room is secluded from the rest of the so you don't get much interior noise finding its way up the steps either. The room itself has an antique double bed with matching vanity and nightstand. There is a small chest of drawers and an antique rocking chair also. The room has a ceiling fan with light, sconces on the walls near the vanity.
  • Cool location and very easy to work with.

  • Quirky little castle on a hill. So much better than a boring hotel room. The potential for beautiful foliage is evident, we were just here to early in the spring. Sam was an excellent host. Very clean room. Creative decor. Perfect get away

  • I booked Sheila's place for my friend's family. When we arrived her place, the rain was hard and little late at night, Sheila was waiting by the door. I asked my friend's family member after they stayed in Sheila's place, they all said it is a great experience.

    li2017-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great two-night stay here and highly recommend it as a comfortable, welcoming place. Sheila responded quickly to all questions and was there to welcome us when we arrived. The room is large and very quiet and Sheila had provided a basket of local snacks and a bottle of wine as well as maps of the area and suggestions of places to visit. The bathroom was well stocked with towels and toiletries. As well as our room we had access to the living room and sun room and the dining room where Sheila has set up a coffee station and snack selection. It was cold and rainy so we didn't take advantage of the swimming pool but it looked lovely! We had a wonderful a breakfast both mornings of pancakes and eggs from their own chickens which was a lovely bonus. We look forward to staying here again.

  • I'm not normally one to write reviews but for this place I felt inclined to. I don't have enough nice things to say about Sheila and her home. Even though we couldn't check in until late and didn't get a chance to meet her until the morning, she left us a really nice note explaining the house. She gave us access to her entire home, which is beautiful by the way. She left out a bunch of snacks and even prepared us a delicious breakfast when we woke up in the morning. The room is very nice with three beds, the private bathroom is great, and the house is very welcoming. At the price we paid, we all agreed that it was the best bargain we've ever got.

Only the King would have a room as big as a one bedroom apartment in the city. But yet, what would one expect from the king? This private suite boasts a giant bed, a couch, two closets, a fireplace, big screen television, a private and newly updated bath with a clawfoot tub long enough for two, and a wonderful balcony.
An escape. This room is incredibly romantic.

The gate house which the neighbors call "The Castle" is all that remains. Currently offering four rooms for guest rental with two on 2nd floor and the others on the 1st and 3rd floor in separate listings (see photos). Off street parking and a little over a mile to Villanova University. No cats.
As I had worked for The Franklin Mint for many years, the house does have a bit of a period look to it with many of their fine collectibles. One could say it is a mix between Ralph Lauren Home and Game of Thrones. This particular room is a bit space themed, as in Outer Space. It was previously my son's room. Hence, the Prince's room. Speaking of space, the room is spacious with about 265 square feet of space not including the walk-in closet. The bedroom is quiet and tranquil painted dark blue. There is a double bed, desk with chair and one additional easy chair, big closet, bookcase, chest with additional blankets and quilts, one floor lamp, two table lamps and 3-speed top-of-the-line Hunter ceiling fan. We are currently not using the fireplace for AirBnB guests.
This area of Villanova is relatively quiet. Each property sits on its own minimum 1 acre lot so there is space and natural privacy. Radnor/Villanova area is known for its trees. Villanova University is just about a mile up the road. There is a walking trail not far from the house
  • Sam's home is beautiful, comfortable, and pleasant. The room was spacious, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom stayed neat and clean. We stayed for a full month and never had trouble or grew weary. Sam is nice, witty and great for conversation. The area is indeed quiet and quaint, and close to Septa stations, but I didn't feel comfortable walking. There are not sidewalks and the shoulder is narrow. This is just something to expect if you're without a car. Otherwise, I would gladly recommend staying with Sam and would do so again in the future.

    Shawn2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sam and his “castle” offered us a comfortable, homey place to rest our heads. While we really only made use of the very comfortable memory foam bed and wonderful marble bathroom, Sam offered us greater hospitality. Interesting, eclectic home decorations and books! Sam knows the local area, the city, and surrounding cities very well. We could have availed ourselves of his kitchen and living areas more (including coffee and teas), but we had full days already planned. It felt good to come “home” rather than to check in to one more sterile hotel room. Caveats that could affect some guests: passing cars made for some traffic noise but not through the night; if stairs are problematic, talk to Sam ahead of time and he may be able to make adjustments. Great place! Great host!

    Marjorie2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable and historic home. Sam is very nice and hospital.

    James2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sam's home is beautiful, the rooms are spacious, exceptionally clean and tastefully decorated, it does remind one of a small keep or knight's castle from the books/TV series " A Game of Thrones". Sam is a wonderful, kind and compassionate human. Sam worked with me patiently during my stay(s) to accommodate my several, rapid schedule changes after the unexpected death of my mother and a few days later a two week + period during which my father was, and still is as I write this review, hospitalized.

    Scot2017-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Sam's castle location was really interesting to stay in. Definitely unique. While the rest of the house had some cool and vintage furnishings, the bathroom was contemporary, clean and attractive. Sam was a very helpful and accomodating host. The area has some very nice restaurants and a nice walking town feel too.

    Karen2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sam's place is a great budget option. He is responsive and the rooms are clean. Be aware that you may share a bathroom with multiple people and that multiple rooms may be booked each night and that you may hear noise from other patrons. Food options are not in an immediate proximity so if staying multiple days, plan on bringing or buying food for the week.

    Mark2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sam was a wonderful host. He was a great person to talk to when around the house while also respecting their privacy. The house itself is beautiful and located in a very scenic neighborhood. The room was just as described and I had a very comfortable time there for an entire month. There were plenty of guests around the house who were also fun to talk to and respectful of others. Its also close to Main Line so there is plenty to do around the area.

    Eric2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • The castle is wonderful inside and out. The bedroom was big and comfortable. The whole first floor is full of beautiful details that stay true to the medieval theme. Sam was a super friendly host who made us feel like real prince and princesses. Hope to come back again! Thanks
