A casually elegant riverside gathering place for family and friends to enjoy the mountains and rivers the Laurel Highlands are renowned for. This house has cathedral all cypress ceilings with authentic barn beams, two story fieldstone fireplace, large windows, expansive decks, and large yard with riverside fire pits. It is meticulously maintained and furnished with original art and high end craftsmanship. This house is on the banks of the Youghiogheny river and an outdoor mecca centrally located for waterfalls, rafting, bicycling, canoeing, hiking, fishing, skiing.
Confluence is a very small town, about 400 people, so it doesn’t have big town amenities. It does have a gas station, car repair garage, bank, post office, cycle shop, river outfitter,  grocery store, pharmacy, vegetable market,  hardware store, churches, a dollar general and other small town amenities.  It has several restaurants and cafés. If you visit during the off season several of these dining establishments will have limited hours or will be closed so during this time you may want to consider going farther afield or opt for the more limited selection in town. All in all you should be able to get any of the basics that you need here. If you find yourself in need of anything of a more exotic nature Somerset is approximately 35 minutes away on 281 North and Uniontown is reached in half an hour or so by taking 281 South to 40 West .  Typical of many of the world’s rivers, the Youghiogheny is joined for much of it’s length by a set of train tracks. The train is a part of life on the river and should be thought of as such. It should not hinder your enjoyment of your surroundings. Our guests don't feel that the trains are detrimental to their overall experience. (A significant number of them join us because they are intrigued by the train! ) We think that you will agree.   We are located on a very rural private road. The constant drone of traffic or the roar of semis blowing by will not be a part of your day. Instead, this time of year, you will have the constant movement of the river in your back yard, the rooster voicing his wake-up call, the whistle and rumble of a passing train, and the wind finding its way through the trees. In the summer months humming birds add to the noise and the drone of cicadas is often a companion during the later summer months. Activities The Confluence area and the Laurel Highlands are renowned for the variety and level of outdoor experiences available. A Manual in the Chalet will have a comprehensive listing of contact information for these and this same list will be sent to you in an email titled "Activities and Attractions." Some of the most popular ones are: BOATING- Power and pontoon boats are popular on Youghiogheny Lake; a fifteen mile long lake just one mile upstream of us. BIKE RIDING- The great Allegheny Passage gives us hundreds of miles of trail riding available within sight just across the river. These trails are smooth hard-pack or bitumen and are suitable for bicycle riders of all ages. You may bring your own bike or rent some at the trail head. Tote-able child carriers are also available for rent. We recommend the Confluence Cyclery in town.  MOUNTAIN BIKING. - You may rent mountain bikes in the area also. There are many miles of suitable trails. CAVING-Laurel Caverns are a half hour away and can be reached by taking 40 East. It's well worth the drive and kids especially enjoy this one. RAFTING- The Youghiogheny River has three main sections of raft-able river covering all types of skill or expertise. The Middle Yough (which runs behind our house) is a calm class I-II float trip suitable for ages 2 through 90. The Lower Yough is a more exciting section of class III-III+ rapids suitable for children over 12 years old. You may take guided trips on both of these sections or you may rent rafts and do a self guided trip.  The Upper Yough, a wild and scenic river, is a class IV-V river suitable for experts only. You may take guided trips on this section if you have previous rafting experience. FISHING-World class fishing is available in many of the area lakes and streams. One great place to try your luck is the river behind our house. Anglers in the know enjoy this section. CANOEING-You may rent your canoe locally and have your shuttle arranged for you, or you may bring your own canoe and explore the river on your own KAYAKING-Lessons and equipment are available locally. Many lessons will take place on the river as it runs past Paddler's Lane.  HORSEBACK RIDING - Several stables in the area offer horse riding, including "Trail Side Stables" which offers riding in Ohio Pyle State Park.  ROCK CLIMBING-Seneca Rocks are approximately one hour away off Rt. 68 and there are various places in the State Park where you can try your hand. Also Nemicolin woodlands offers a climbing wall and ropes course and specializes in group events geared to enhance team-building and co-operation.  NATURAL WATER SLIDES- This natural feature in Ohiopyle State Park is suitable for children and adults. It's really fun; and it's free! FALLING WATER -Known as America’s most loved house, Fallingwater was built by Frank Lloyd Wright and is 7.5 miles from Paddler's Lane. Visitors come from around the world to join one of the tours at Fallingwater. Tours are available most days. Reservations are suggested. KENTUCK KNOB- Another home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. It's 20 minutes away and boasts a sculpture garden.  OHIOPYLE STATE PARK- We share a boundry with this "Gem of Pennsylvania". A large 20 foot waterfall and miles of woodland trails and the Youghiogheny river are highlights of this popular park.   HIKING-Several Parks in the area offer miles and miles of hiking trails ranging from beginner to expert. DOWN-HILL AND CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING-There are four resorts from 20 minutes to 50 minutes away; Seven Springs, Hidden Valley, Wisp and Laurel Ridge. In addition there are miles of cross country trails in the local parks.   SLEDDING-There is an absolutely great hill for sledding 10 minutes away at Ohiopyle State Park on Sugarloaf Mountain.  MT. DAVIS- Pennsylvania's tallest mountain is popular for those wanting a more lofty adventure; and it's only 20 minutes away!  NEMICOLIN WOODLANDS-This world class resort really has to be seen to be believed. Built by 84 lumber tycoon Joe Hardy and popular with presidents and dignitaries it is worth a day visit just to explore. They also have a reasonably priced day spa for visitors.  HISTORICAL SITES-Fort Necessity and Braddock’s Grave are two popular sites. Our area was center stage for much of the French and Indian War that played such a large part in the making of America. In addition General Washington surveyed and named our Turkeyfoot Township because of the way Laurel Creek, the Casselman and the Youghiogheny join together just upstream of our house. ANTIQUES AND SHOPPING-A list of shops and locations is available and include our own Confluence Antique Mall. If there are other activities you are interested in and you would like assistance in getting information or logistics together please don't hesitate to ask. I'll be happy to help in any way that I can.  Well, I think that about covers the basics. If I've forgotten anything or there are specifics that you need more info on, please feel free to give me a call or email me.  Cheers! Robin (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)  Paddler's Lane
  • Everything was perfect and we would definitely go back again!

    Sara2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great little house for a relaxing weekend away. We loved having the fireplace and didn't mind the train at all, in fact I think it added a fun ambiance we wouldn't ordinarily have. The house was neat and clean, and Robin and Dan were excellent hosts. We would stay here again.

    Erin2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, riverside views, stunning stone fireplace and beautiful woodwork and furnishings. Clean, cozy. Loved our weekend despite the rain.

  • Great place to relax. Beautiful location.

    Adam2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed at Paddlers Lane with 2 other couples for the weekend. We had an amazing time there, it snowed a few inches which made the setting perfect. Robin and Dan were excellent hosts and came over to greet us at check in. They already had a fire built in the beaitiful stone fireplac, it was ready to be lit as soon as we arrived. There are 2 bedrooms on the main floor and 2 small mattresses in a tiny upstairs loft that would be great for older children. Since we had 3 couples we also rented the downstairs space which is basically a separate apartment with its own bedroom, bath room and living room, there is no kitchen in the downstairs area. I would recommend renting this space if you have 3 couples for the added privacy. The house is well equipped with everything you would need for your stay. I could see how the train could be an issue for some people but we knew about it ahead of time and made the best of it. If you're a lite sleeper it could be an issue though. The home is located right in the heart of numerous attractions including Ohiopyle, Yough Lake and Nemacolin. We can't wait to go back!

    Dan2018-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Chalet is a truly lovely spot to relax. The river and the hills surrounding are so beautiful, and the fireplace is irresistibly cozy! We had a truly joyful, serene and restorative trip here, we didn't want to leave ;)

    Carolyn2018-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Robin's place was gorgeous tucked away in what feels like the middle of now where but exactly what we were looking for. The house had everything we needed, all very clean and put together. Right in front of the river with a nice deck and a lot of yard for the kids to run around and play with. The train tracks are right in front of the house and they did go by quite often but with the doors closed it wasn't a big deal and I didn't hear anything at night so overall it wasn't an issue. The town is pretty small but they do have a grocery store within 10 min where you can get all the items that you may need.

    Brenda And Cesar2017-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Robin was a great host! She showed up a few minutes after we arrived to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The cabin was amazing! It was perfect for what we needed. It was a peaceful stay, right on the river with a big open outdoor space, perfect for throwing a frisbee, etc. The location was great. 20 minutes from Ohiopyle state park and 2 minutes from the little town of Confluence, which was perfect for picking up a few items from the store on the way home. The only negative I could possibly list is how close the train tracks are. It really didn't bother us at all, but it can be loud when they roll by. We would totally go back if we make the same trip again!

  • The house is centrally located, private with easy access to the resort and restaurants. The house is very nice and comfortable. We cooked breakfast every morning and the kitchen was well-stocked. Would recommend this house to anyone visiting the area!

  • Such a lovely house and location! 30 minute drive to Falling Water and Ohiopyle State Park where there are tons of things to do. Beautifully appointed house and so quiet and peaceful.

    Mary Beth2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • This home is a perfect getaway, whether you are looking for outdoorsy things to do (hike, ski) or just have some peace a quiet. We spent a few days and found so much rest and comfort in the house. The quiet (outside of the birds singing and wind blowing through the trees) is one of the most beautiful things you will hear if you live a busy, noisy life. A fully stocked kitchen and lovely, incredibly clean spaces are simply icing on the cake. We will be back!

    Jonathan2018-07-07T00:00:00Z

Bob & Tina have indeed thought of everything you might need on your stay— from household items, to Bluetooth speakers and the most adorable personal touches. We truly loved staying there. I think of all the Airbnbs I have experienced— this one is my favorite!

    Cara2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a family get away and nice hiking tails nearby. Tina and Bob are great hosts and have some wonderful suggestions that helped us enjoy our stay. Also, the home was very comfortable and clean.

    Kim2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice home

    Travis2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a ski weekend at Wisp. This house is nicely finished with a wood burning fireplace that was great for six adults to spend time in after a day of skiing. You will need a 4x4 to get up the driveway after snowfall (as noted by the host).

    Jacob2018-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Feels remote and tucked away, yet is moments from I68. Very clean, stylish, and comfortable. Great location, great value, 10/10 would go there again. In fact, we’re likely going to make it an annual getaway spot.

    Daniel2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at this well-equipped, comfy and lovely cabin. It was the perfect size for our group of 6, we went and explore nature and snow sports nearby.

    Julie2018-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The owner and management company are quick to respond to questions. The house itself was even better than the photos. We had an issue with the fire alarm battery dying so it was beeping and they had someone out with a big ladder to fix it within the hour. Great amenities. We will 100% be back!

Peaceful setting next to 4000 acre state forest. Enjoy outdoor fireplace and grill. Large deck. Less then 3 miles to 7 springs resort. Great restaurants, amusement parks, fishing, biking, hiking, boating, wineries, and lakes within 15 miles. Large flat area , which is very hard to find in the area which is perfect for games such as bocci, bean bag toss, and picnic in the grass. Great views from the flat area and adjacent for 4000 acres of state forest with huge boulders to explore.
Well kept property perfect for entertaining friends and family
Peaceful alpine setting with no neighbors to be seen
  • We have stayed at many Airbnbs over the years. Doug's hospitality and welcoming responses to our calls were among the best we have experienced. The little house was perfect for our group of 4. Super cute and clean. Outside deck area was a perfect place for meals. Had planned to use the fire pit w/Adirondack chairs but rain made making a fire difficult....but no worries! We had our fire in the cute fireplace beside the house. Outdoor house light made playing card games possible beside the fire making for a wonderful night!

    Mary2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, lots of room for outdoor games!

    Tyler2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views.

    Scott2017-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay Doug is great to deal with!

    Brandon2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Doug's place. The house provides access to a grill and grilling utensils, a bonfire pit, a great flat grassy area we used to play spike ball, enough shared space to comfortably fit all 7 of us(definitely could have added a couple more, but it would have been tight), and plenty of beds for everyone. The house was fairly clean and well maintained, Doug communicated very well leading up to our stay and made sure we had all the information we needed to have a great trip. If you are skiing, rafting, or doing anything in this area and looking for a place to stay I would definitely recommend this place.

    Chris2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place has a lot of charm as a cozy cabin in a small town. With a large group (more than 10 people) it can be a little tight, especially with sharing one bathroom. However, the hosts were very accommodating and easy to communicate with throughout our two night stay. I would go again; just with less people:)

    Melanie2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was great. The house was located in a really cool setting with zero noise from neighbors. Comfortable house with everything you need for a weekend at Seven Springs. Doug did a great job with communication from start to finish. I would absolutely recommend this home.

    Brendan2018-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! The house was very homey and close to the town nearby so it’s easy to pick up groceries and only 30 minutes away from ohiopyle. Will definitely be back again!

  • Great place thank you for a great weekend

    Matthew2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The home was clean and cozy. It accommodated 9 of us well and we never felt cramped or like we were in one another's way. We were there to ski and tube during the holiday; December 24-17, and the location to the main entrance was perfect. Having WiFi was a plus since the phones had no service in the house.

    Michelle2018-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The "Slack Shack" is charming and well-situated for skiing at Seven Springs. The place was clean and cozy, and check in/out was convenient.

  • Great location, just down the road from Seven Springs. We (two couples) attended an event at Seven Springs but wanted a full kitchen for meals. We got that and much more...we enjoyed the views of the woods, fireplace, fire pit, grill and so much more. Thoughtful touches like a carafe for coffee and games made our long weekend even more fun! Excellent place and would love to stay there again!

  • Really great space. Dave was a wonderful host. We'll be back.

  • Dave was a great host! His chalet was very clean and lots of cozy amenities...we loved have a fire every night and playing croquet:)

    Karen2018-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • The chalet was perfect - secluded, with a great fireplace and ski lodge personality, as well as close to the slopes. Dave was such a responsive, and flexible host, especially with our last minute request. We brought all of our food and cooked up a sumptuous feast while playing board games. A great weekend!

    Adam2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • We just came back from a week of staying in Luna Chalet. You couldn’t ask for a better host. Dave was very hospitable, knowledgeable about whereabouts, quick with responses when needed. Place itself was very cozy and comfortable. If you don’t mind climbing to the lofts then you will enjoy this house. The only negative thing I can say is that 4 out of 7 days was raining and we couldn’t go anywhere but that’s not something that could be prearranged and it has nothing to do with the house. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

  • Beautiful place, very spacious, neat, well decorated and close to the ski resorts. We highly recommend Claycomb chalets for family vacations.

  • We loved Smiling Mountain Lodge! We stayed there for a family ski weekend and could not have been more pleased with the accommodations. The lodge is comfortable, clean, and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed family time in front of the fire and around the large dining room table. The close proximity to the ski slopes is a plus for skiers. Stacey is a great host - very responsive to questions and inquiries. We highly recommend the house!

    Kathy2016-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The lodge was absolutely wonderful! We had a great time with all of our friends and family. The kitchen had everything we needed and lots of space for everyone. Stacey even checked in with us during our stay to make sure everything was okay when everything was already perfect.

    Matt2016-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful house set just a little ways off the main road. It has plenty of space for sleeping and for hanging out. The decor is fascinating, with what looks like expensive items from a number of continents. Unfortunately, that makes the house probably not the best place for those with active kids/ teenagers who might take out a couple of items running around the house. That would be my one caution. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay here!

    Kyle2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Stacey and Richard's home is awesome! We stayed there with a bunch of friends while visiting Fallingwater and had a fantastic time. Great fireplaces, games, tons of room and beds, and an overall great value for the spot. Their house is beautifully decorated with global and unique art pieces and we all in all had a blast.

    Laura2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect for our three family ski outing. We had great access to the ski resorts and a comfortable place to chill out and warm up afterwards.

    Andrew2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous stay for 3 families/3 generations to celebrate a 50th anniversary. We had family ranging from 10 years old to 70+ and we all loved the accommodations as well as the location. The home is eclectic, inviting, and has everything you would need including an outdoor grill table which was a hit with the kids for s'mores making. The location couldn't be beat - we visited Fallingwater, spent a day at Seven Springs, hiked at Ohiopyle State Park, and enjoyed fabulous meals nearby. Would highly recommend staying here. The hosts were very gracious and quickly answered our questions as well. This was our first time staying at an AirBNB, and it couldn't have been a better experience.

  • Great cozy cabin with nice space for our girls weekend.

    Gina2018-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriends and I rented the cabin for a night away! It is just like the pictures. Very beautiful and clean. A hidden gem in the mountains. They had all of the essentials that you could ever need and an equipped kitchen with plenty food if you have forgotten anything. Check in was extremely easy and we were not bothered by anyone. The owners were very quick to respond to any of my questions. My girls had made a vow to try to do this little get away once a year from now on.

    Cara2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was an outstanding experience! Isha & Kyle were great hosts who answered any question I had before our stay immediately. The residence was very inviting as well with a great location and furnishings inside and out. We had 7 guests and had plenty of room for everyone without feeling cramped. I would definitely recommend this for a weekend getaway to anyone who will ask.

  • This is a beautiful cabin in a wonderful secluded location that’s still close to lots of activities. We had a storm come through while we were there so we ended up spending a lot more time in the house than we had expected but this was fine because it is such a nice place. Isha and Kyle were very responsive and accommodating. We had a great time and I’d highly recommend it.

  • The house is really nice, excellent place in a very quite area surrounded by the woods. Nice place for enjoy a natural weekend

    Tamara2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome cabin tucked away in the woods! Plenty of space inside and room for all guests to sleep. Just make sure you take the closest route from the main road or else you’ll be off roading for about 20 minutes until you get there, quite funny as we had some guests waiting for us in the pitch black woods and my phone was dead! But once we got there, the Impressive cabin lit up and we had a great time. Definitely recommend staying here!

    Perry2018-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Isha and Kyle’s place was perfect for us to rest and relax and recuperate. The forest view from the front porch is very nice. Well apportioned kitchen allowed us to have a very comfortable home-away-from-home experience. Hosts were extremely responsive and helpful.

  • This place is absolutely the best for our family of 4. It had everything that we needed for our working vacation. Scott was super responsive and very thoughtful of our experience. He provided everything that we needed to know at check in. His parents also stopped by as support. The staff and neighbors at Hidden Valley are remarkable. The community is tight nit and super friendly. We were close to walking trails and the mountains. This is a mountain town, so everything that we needed was between 15-25 minutes away, so plan accordingly. Cupboards came stocked with some essentials like salt and pepper. There is a Giant Eagle and a walmart about 15-25 minutes driving distance away. Farmers Markets during the summer were about 25 minutes away. There are several destination food places that we absolutely loved like Out of the Fire Cafe! Best Scallops we've ever had. If you're working remotely, the wifi is excellent at Scott's place!!! This was a must for us! Phone signal is good on property, as soon as you leave the property it gets a bit spotty. Lots to do whether you are in the house or out of the house! When we are in the area, this is our first pick!

    Very quiet and friendly
  • We really enjoyed our time at Jay's place. The space is incredibly unique and has some very nice architectural features. If you don't need a full kitchen and you have fewer guests, the guest house would be a great option. We rented the entire home and really enjoyed the combination of indoor and outdoor space. The space is private and quiet, and the area is very relaxing. The one difficulty we had with the home was the lack of a bathroom outside of a bedroom. This wasn't a big hurdle, but it wasn't something we had considered prior. Thanks for hosting us Jay!

    Walt2018-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jay’s house is so beautiful and unique! We had fun just exploring the house. Jay is a very good host and answered all my questions very promptly. The location is just minutes from Ohiopyle State Park where we did our white water rafting trip. The place is very good for large groups. We enjoyed the large living space and the outdoor deck.

  • Really cool layout for the place and great location.

    Karl2018-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Last weekend we had a wonderful time at this house. Location is perfect, not only it is private it is also very close to various outdoor activities offered in Ohiopyle center. We had a good weather and spend most of the time outside cooking, playing games on spacious deck. We even enjoyed a grass field area along the driveway. Good spot for playing volleyball or badminton. We were amazed by unique layout in the main and smaller second house. I think it is a good spot for big groups also in winter time because in main house you can find a large living area with comfortable couches and fireplace. The house was clean, with nice appliencies, beds very comfortable, lot of towels and pillows. We only brought extra blankets for colder nights around a firepit. Communication before, during and after the trip was efficiant. Host was very responsive and understandable if we had any questions or suggestions of how to make this cool house even better.

  • The house was so lovely and the kitchen so well equipped that we just wanted to hang around cooking, playing games and reading. The property is elegant and peaceful with the most amazing view of the sunset. You should arrive with plenty of groceries, because you won't want to leave, except to go to Falling Water, which is just a few minutes away.

  • I and my family had a great experience at Grandma's Gift. The house is unique - open and full of light - and the property is well-kept, private, and has great views. The host was very responsive, and everything went smoothly. Would definitely stay here again.

  • This was our second time staying at Max's family home. We came back because if the proximity to all of the Laurel Highland's activities and to relax. Bring a hammock and enjoy the scenery in a peaceful and serene get-a-way! Will surely be back!

  • Thank you Max, you have a lovely home with everything at your fingertips. Very quiet setting and easy ride to Seven Springs and Hidden Valley. Thank you

  • We came to town to see Fallingwater and decided to stay a long weekend at Max's place. The house is open, comfortable, and set on great piece of property with a terrific view. We did not expect such beautiful grounds and gardens to walk through. The kitchen was great for preparing meals. With all of those windows facing west, we saw 2 amazing sunsets. All sort of places to relax both inside and out. Couldn't have had a better stay.

    Mike2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Max and his parents were excellent hosts!!! Their amazing house was the perfect getaway for our group, and only 5 miles from Ohiopyle, in the heart of the Laurel Highlands. Amazing sunsets are an added bonus!!!!! Max was very accommodating and easy to reach. Can't wait to book Grandma's Gift again!!!

    Marianna2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • I simply can not praise this home enough. From booking to goodbye, everything was absolutely perfect. I was looking for a quiet and cozy home to host my family in over the holiday break, and I found exactly that in Grandma’s Gift. Floor to ceiling windows, mountain views stretching for miles, silent snowfalls, a quiet loft for lounging, and a fireplace that refused to let us leave the house for days. We brought loads of food and wine which, in addition to our board games, kept my family and I happy and healthy. I would have taken a bath in the claw footed tub, but I simply couldn’t bring myself to leave my slippers. Thank you Max for giving this New Yorker what she REALLY wanted for Christmas; peace and quiet. :)

This is a great rustic cabin located in the middle of The Laurel Highlands. Gather a group of friends and come explore our area. You as the guest are required to pay a 6% hotel tax and a $53 administration fee prior to or upon check in which is not collected by Airbnb. They collect the 6% sales tax on the rental rate but we are required to collect the hotel tax. There is a 3 night minimum stay for NY'S EVE, MLK and President's Day weekends. NO PETS
This 9 bedroom 4.5 bathroom house sleeps 21 people. Walk into the house and bedroom 1 is to the right and powder room is to the left. Walk straight ahead into the large living room with massive stone fireplace to create the cabin experience. The kitchen and dining room are to the left and then the four bedroom surround the living room. Downstairs is another living room, kitchen, four bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a sauna.
7 Springs Mt. Resort is located in The Laurel Highlands region of Pennsylvania about an hour southeast of Pittsburgh. There are numerous State Parks to enjoy surrounding the area. Go white water rafting at Ohiopyle State Park or visit 2 Frank Lloyd Wright homes only 30 minutes from Seven Springs. There is an 18 hole golf course at the resort, just call and make tee times!
  • It's hard to find an affordable space for 21 people. This home housed us comfortably and we had a wonderful time. We were so close to trails, the yard was great for recreation, and the upstairs was wide and open letting us all come together as a group. There are skylights in the living room that let on great natural light, but the space did get rather warm. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could have needed and there was plenty of supplies and towels. The only thing that was disappointing was the very musty smell of the basement. It clung to your clothes and was pretty unpleasant. Overall though, we would rent again. It was a great weekend and Michele was very kind and attentive to our questions and needs.

  • This was my second stay at The Stables, both times were fantastic!

  • great cabin with a rustic touch

    Rick2018-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Nice rusty cabin with fully stocked kitchen and all the appliances made our stay memorable. We were four families with kids and everyone had a bed which was exceptional(family of 15 and no one slept on the sofa). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back to this. I highly recommend this place for large family get together. All the attractions are also nearby

    Sunny2018-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this house! The kitchen had just about everything you could ask for, which was very helpful for all the cooking we did! Sauna was an extra bonus and we all had an opportunity to enjoy it! The location was great, very quiet, and close to trail heads for exploring!

    Cara2018-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent weekend!

    Ryan2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great. We used it for a staff retreat and it worked very well. There was tons of space and a variety of options for our work and teambuilding activities. Having so many rooms and beds ensured everyone had their privacy. The large dining room table was great for shared meals and some of our work projects. The sauna was a fantastic added bonus. The only drawback is that the space lacks air conditioning. We knew this going in though. The basement level living area was notably cooler so we did work down there when possible. There were numerous fans available for personal room use so it made the lack of AC manageable. We would definitely consider this place again if doing a retreat in the area. Being so close to the whitewater rafting options (which we did) and skiing options makes this a great spot for summer or winter gatherings.

    Ian2018-07-20T00:00:00Z

  • Cozy place in a great location. Hosts are nice, place was clean. We had an issue with an overwhelming smell of sulfur in the water, but as no previous guest brought it up in their reviews, I believe it was an issue with the well and when I notified them they immediately said they would address.

  • Amazing place, cabins were a good size and the amount of firewood they gave was also good. Would definitely come back!

  • The chalet was clean, cozy, very spacious. The 2 lofts were great for kids. It had everything we needed. Dave was very quick in response every time I messaged him. He also provided personal tips on where to go, what to do, etc. Very helpful.

    Alice2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, very comfortable, loved the awesome fireplace and seasoned hardwood. Real cabin feel and Dave and the cabin warm and ready to go for our late arrival. We would defiantly come back.

    Heidi2018-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Saves place is awesome... It was so clean and comfortable.. We relaxed the whole time, we was supposed to go to outside to play in snow, but Daves place was so relaxing we stayed in.. It's close to the caddy shack, hidden treasures and local store is minutes away.. Yes I will stay again

    Lateesha2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Dave was very accommodating! We chose one of the coldest weekends to stay at the Fox Tail Chalet but we still enjoyed our stay. Everything was very clean, the bathrooms were nice and the cabin felt homey. If you plan to stay there during the winter, be sure to check-in on time and start the fireplace! It took a full day for the warmth to kick in since there is no central heating. But once the cabin warmed up, it stayed warm! Less than 10 minutes away from Seven Springs and a straight drive! Will definitely stay here again!

    Kimberly2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the chalet for a white water rafting trip. Close to plenty of activities even in the summer. Very clean and nicely stocked kitchen. It is very cabin like, rustic place. WiFi worked well. It was hot while we were there but an a/c and fans were provided. Definitely, consider this place the next time we want to stay in the area.

    Carrie2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • It was super hot and muggy on the day we arrived. The chalet was a bit stuffy and musty at first, but Dave had just installed the AC that day and it hadn’t quite kicked in yet. By the second day, it was much better. The chalet met our needs perfectly for 2 adults, 4 teenagers, and a couple of dogs. It was a very comfortable space, inside and out, and Dave was a friendly and flexible host.

Winter activities in the area include downhill and cross-country skiing and snow tubing. Then cozy up in either of two living room areas, each with a stone fireplace. The all-electric house has a fully equipped kitchen, thermostats in each room, and washer and dryer. For weekend rentals, firewood, linens, and towels are provided. Note that there is a long and steep hill leading to the house. In the winter, you should have at least one four wheel drive vehicle in your group as others may not be able to get up the hill.
Close to all the activities at Hidden Valley, Seven Springs, and Kooser Park. There are a couple of restaurant options nearby. Somerset proper, where there are a number of hotels and restaurants, is about a 15 minute drive away.
  • Before we arrived, our hostess was responsive in a timely manner to our questions. We happened to arrive after snow, and she made sure we knew that the driveway was plowed, and to please let her know that we arrived safely. The house was exactly as described, and the instructions were very well written and accurate. It is a beautiful property in the woods yet close to the ski resorts. We had a great time!

  • This was the perfect place for a private, cozy ski weekend getaway. It comfortably fit 8 people and kept us warm with 2 nice fireplaces.

  • This home is about 20 minutes from Seven Springs, so very close! Each bedroom has its own bathroom. There are two wood burning fire places which add to the cozy feel. This is a great place for groups!

  • Staying in Joanne's home was an absolute blast! We had a group of 10 there for our annual ski trip attending, and we couldn't have picked a better home to stay in for the weekend. There was plenty of privacy, space and the view was beautiful. Joanne did a great job providing support and answering any of our questions when we had them. We were about 15 minutes from 7 Springs and right down the road from all the ski rental shops. Next time our group heads up to 7 Springs, we will most definitely be staying in Joanne's home. I highly recommend it.

    Israel2015-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Joanne's family house went extremely well. Joanne was most accommodating with our check-in and check-out, which was much appreciated given the nature of our stay (a surprise birthday party). Her instructions and driving directions were also spot on. The house is ideally situated. Perched on a hill, it is surrounded by woods and feels secluded yet it is located right across the main road where Hidden Valley ski resort's entrance is located. While the majority of the master bedrooms were clean and tidy, I happened to occupy the bedroom that the owner used and was disappointed by the tidiness and cleanliness of the bathroom--more specifically the toilet bowl, which I felt was not up to par with the $100 cleaning fee. The bedroom's door had a number of personal clothes items hanging on hangers and the chest drawer was busy with different bits and pieces, all of which could have easily been tucked away to make us feel a bit more at ease. I will say however that I genuinely believe the toilet bowl was an overlook as all the other bedrooms/bathrooms were clean. Overall, I would still recommend this house for a stay, friend or family reunion - the house's location, size, and host's flexibility outweigh the negatives.

    Camille2013-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay, house is on a nice piece of land that makes it feel like your at home. Perfect distance to Ski resorts and main stores. Very comfortable stay and had a lot of space. Very steep driveway but all cars made it up.

    Danny2018-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Joanne's home was an extremely welcoming and warm place that was just what I was looking for .. a relaxing quiet weekend away from the city. The home is set on plenty of property away from the main road to enhance its secluded feel. Everything was clean and neat and as advertised. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. Close to white water rafting, Fallingwater, and a winery. Thanks Joanne!

    Justin2014-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We found the house with no trouble and got in without incident. There were plenty of bedrooms and baths; big beds; easy to get the house rolling with water, etc. Found plenty of things to play with though we brought our own. Now how do I airbnb to take me off their email list??!!!!!!

  • Alpenhof is a great location for any gathering. We were there in July, so of course we didn't ski, but the area has plenty of other outdoor activities. The lodge was very clean and well stocked. The property is in great shape, and the owner is continuing to make improvements. The owner was very communicative and provided all of the information needed to have a great time. We didn't need to contact the owner at anytime, because he was so detailed. We would highly recommend Alpenhof, and we look forward to coming back. Thanks You!!

  • Our family had a little reunion here and it was amazing! Perfect for our needs. Definitely a party atmosphere - the robotic lights were an awesome touch. Beautiful renovations happening as well!

  • Our family reunion of 3 generations coming from 8 locations in 3 states went wonderfully, in large part due to the fantastic lodge that allowed us to all stay together (rather than in separate hotel or resort rooms) with common great rooms and large kitchen where we could gather. Wonderful location close to numerous outdoor activities.

  • This place is fantastic. Went up with a group of 20+ friends and it was more than enough space to accommodate us all. Plus, Mr. Hof is very quick to respond to any questions and provides a thorough explanation of check in and check out details. Was an amazing stay!

  • Alpenhof was the perfect place for my college friends to spend time together (along with our spouses). The space is beautiful and we never felt like we were cramped. Meals went off without a hitch in the gorgeous kitchen and we spent more than our fair share of time utilizing the hot tub. Mr. Hof was kind and flexible in dealing with our group. Everyone is asking if we can make this happen every year!

CONTACT HOST before REQUESTING TO BOOK to confirm we can accommodate your needs. Stillwater is located on the Upper Yough Wild and Scenic River Corridor and is close to the Deep Creek Lake/ Wisp Ski Resort area. Our upscale chalet is best suited for large groups: family reunions/birthday parties, fitness retreats, or business workshops. We have many amenities including an onsite river hike, whitewater rafting, an onsite volleyball/badminton court, hot tub, billiards, ping pong and many games!
  • Pictures do not do justice for this little slice of heaven. The house is absolutely amazing, and the location right on the river makes you never want to leave. Lynn, the owner, is very accommodating and friendly and was available for any questions we had throughout our stay. Will absolutely be visiting Stillwater Haven again in the future. 5 stars all around!

  • What an awesome place!! Multiple kitchens fully stocked and labeled. Same with bathrooms, too numerous to count with toothbrushes even. Our group was looking around Deep Creek Lake for a place to meet. Most places have limited parking, and are not group friendly. Lynn's place is spacious semi remote, and great for a large reunion or group. We would love to meet here again.

  • We were a group of 17 20 somethings and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owner stays in cottage spitting distance to home so it seemed a little weird at first, however Lynn was very nice and only interacted with us at check in / check out. The home had literally everything you could need besides food and beverage. You really do want for nothing. This would be the perfect home for large group gatherings/ family reunions. Even with 25 people you won't feel at all cramped. Highly recommend.

  • Lynn was a great host ! She was attentive to our needs prior to the booking and responded quickly to texts during our booking. The house was amazing, it’s clean, stylish, and literally crafted for get togethers. Everything was on point in the house. The scenery is beautiful and the house location definitely takes advantage of that. We couldn’t have asked for more. Would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat !

Incredibly clean and comfortable. Technically a “hostel,” but feels more like a traditional “hotel” in terms of comfort. Great stay!
