Located at the junction of the Green Mountains and the Champlain Valley, this quiet space sits on 70 forested acres. Just minutes from Brandon, Middlebury College, Lake Dunmore, and the Green Mountain National Forest, this is the perfect home base. Enjoy nature in this secluded space and discover what Addison County has to offer from an easy to access location. Our kayaks are available to explore nearby lakes and plenty of trails, events and culture are just down the road.
Autumn in Vermont is in full swing, and this cabin is the perfect place to be surrounded with a full palette of fall colors. The cabin was built as a hunting camp in 1997 by a logging firm that harvested timber here. We have built our home on the property and updated the cabin with plenty of amenities. The cabin is a nice balance of rustic, cozy, and comfortable, and we take pride in the beauty of this place.
Plenty to do nearby! Rutland and Middlebury Farmers' Markets, Wood's Garden Market, Champlain and Douglas Orchards, Falls of Lana, Silver Lake, Branbury State Park, Goshen Dam, shops and restaurants in Middlebury and Brandon, Rutland's Paramount Theater, Cattails Restaurant, Texas Falls, Route 100 Scenic Highway, Mount Independence Historic Site and Fort Ticonderoga, rivers and mountains galore! Still a working forest, the property is home to a plethora of wildlife, hosting two beaver dams and a designated deer wintering area. There are some trails here on the property, and plenty of outdoor space for you to enjoy. Enjoy colorful sunsets as herons, ducks, and geese fly in for the evening, or spend the evening out in the cultural centers of Brandon or Middlebury. Bring, rent or borrow a boat and spend the day at nearby Lake Dunmore, Fern Lake, or Sugar Hill Reservoir; make the stunning 1 hour drive up to Burlington for the day for cool shops and great restaurants; or pick fresh Vermont fruits and berries with views of Lake Champlain. The Moosalamoo Recreation area is right in our backyard. There is so much to do around here, you may not want to leave!

  • Mark and Catie's place is so cozy and secluded. Perfect for a romantic getaway or to simply recharge in peace. The cabin is very rustic and quaint but offers plenty of amenities such as running water, a working kitchen and bath, and fireplace and grill. There's a loft perfect for accommodating more people. While remote, the cabin is just a short drive to a nearby town with many food/shop and nature options. Booking and checking in was a breeze; Mark and Catie left a binder of suggestions and helpful information which made things much easier. I would be glad to stay again in the future.

    Cecelia2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Mark and Catie's cabin was just what I needed. I commend how well they respected my privacy while making me feel as though they were taking care of anything I may need. I would gladly stay again in the future.

  • I had a wonderful stay in Mark's cabin, it is cosy and has everything you need. It is also a short driving distance to the quaint town of Middlebury. Mark also provided lots of information about various activities to do in the area as well as restaurant recommendations and various nature walks. I would gladly stay here again.

    Sophie2016-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is just perfect. It is the perfect getaway. It is very clean, convenient and nice in every detail, a real cabin but with all utilities. Mark and Catie were very helpful and made our stay perfect. It is close to hikings, lakes and also beautiful towns. We will definetely stay there again.

    Marta2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • I felt welcome from the time I arrived. The children had gone apple-picking and left me a perfect apple as a treat. There was also a tiny pitcher of flowers in full bloom waiting for me. The cabin was just the right size for one person or two and the kitchen was fully equipped for simple or complex cooking. There was ample information on the local area for shopping or touring. It was quiet and peaceful. I had a great time sampling local restaurants and doing my own cooking. Mark and Catie had left some recommendations and I tried them (they were good) and also found some others. I enjoyed my time there.

Evadez-vous de tout cela à cette cabane en rondins pittoresque sur la magnifique Sunset Lake Benson VT
This is truly an escape from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. Two true log cabins set on 2.5 acres of land sitting directly on one of the most serene lakes in Vermont. The lake is stocked with trout and you can go fishing during the warmer months. Have your pick: this lake allows for both motorized and non motorized boating on the lake. The water is clean and clear; you can go swimming in water so clear you can see your toes. Truly a place to unwind from it all. Tucked away on Lake Sunset, off of a private road, this place is the perfect get away from life's hustle and bustle. Unassuming from the outside, when you get into the cabins you are blown away by the rustic appearance of it all and the comfort of everything. There are 2 cabins and a boat house. The Bunkhouse has 4 twin-sized bunk beds where you can tuck away the kids while you hang out in the main cabin ( or can host 4 adults) which has 2 bedrooms with full sized beds. Both cabins are self contained with kitchen, full bath (main cabin) and a toilet and shower stall in the bunk house, wood stove in the bunk house and large fireplace in the main cabin. The price includes rental of the main cabin. For an additional $50 you can also rent the bunk house. Available to answer questions as needed. Close to Outlet shopping, including Manchester Outlet Shops 10 mins from Shale Hill Adventure Farm-World's Best Obstacle Course race and training facility (10k permanent obstacle course). Best restaurants: Fair Haven Inn 5 Adams Street; Ask for Suzie; The Wheel Inn (just 10 mins away-ask for Cat she's amazing); or Cattails Restaurant which is about half hour away (get the Captain's Platter if you like seafood). You will need your own car to move around. Amtrak Train Station is about 20 mins away. Wifi is available in the main cabin. You can also get wifi in the bunkhouse but it' spotty. Cell phone service is also spotty.
Within 1 hour of Killington Ski Resort, Pico Ski Resort and Okemo Ski Resort Additionally you may want to visit the Shelburne Museum for a fun time.. also Fort Ticonderoga and Fort William Henry.. For hiking Pond Woods is within walking distance from the cabins.
  • Nous avons passé une super belle semaine. Confortable et calme. Nous avons manqué de rien. C'est exactement ce que nous cherchions comme espace entre amis. Parfait pour la famille aussi.

  • This is a great old Cabin on a beautiful lake with the clearest water. New Kayaks supplied in the boathouse to explore the lake. The view from the deck was perfect. It's a great place to escape to if your looking to just "be". The owners were readily available if needed but there was no need. Wifi is strong enough to stream content if you're in need.

  • Sharon's cabin was the perfect getaway for our family. My kids enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the lake. The water was so calm, and the lake so quiet, that even my seven year old was able to go out himself on a kayak! We are not rugged enough for real camping. Staying in the cabin gave us the feeling of camping out while still having the benefit of a front door to close! The cabin was immaculate and extremely well stocked. The view was beautiful and the screened in porch was a great place to eat dinner without worrying about getting bitten. Thank you Sharon for letting us use your space!

    Esti2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • A great place and exactly what I was looking for. well done to Sharon for providing such a fantastic spot for a retreat from the world. Very picturesque, quiet and secluded cabin on small cristal clear lake. The cabin is traditional rustic timber and very comfortable and clean. The furniture was very comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, a great log burning fireplace and the view perfect. Thanks for allowing us the use of your (brand new) kayaks. Excellent communication from Sharon who answered all our queries immediately . Many thanks again and if we are in the area we would love to return.

    Colin2017-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nice location. Clean. Small beds. Very remote. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is the place. Sharon was in contact throughout the stay and would be a great place for kids. All in all, a great stay.

  • Sharon was an excellent host- very communicative and thorough in her instructions. The cabin was cozy and it was a pleasure to spend time there rain or shine. The kayaks made for wonderful adventures around the lake, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The separate bunk house was also equipped with its own mini-kitchen which made it very comfortable for those who weren't staying in the main cabin. The camp is also quite close to a wonderful general store with local and organic meat, great beer selection, and fresh fruit and vegetables. I would go back in a heartbeat!

A quiet lake front cottage close to many Vermont attractions. Located next to Lake Hortonia Dam the sound of falling water will provide a relaxing backdrop to your getaway. You can prepare your own meals or dine out at several excellent restaurants. Great place for Kayaking and Leaf Peeping. Now have trash service for renters.
Vermont attractions also include antiquing, Ben and Jerry’s ice cream factory. Billings Farm and Museum in Woodstock offers wagon rides and a view of turn of the century farm life in Woodstock VT. Also on Route 4 are the Quechee Gorge and Village. Route 4 offers several covered bridges and scenic views. One hour away are the Manchester Outlets.

  • My wife, young son, and I rented from Craig on short notice during the busy February school vacation week. Craig was right on top of the communication and confirmed the rental within minutes. Once I submitted payment, Craig graciously called me on the phone as a pre-welcome and to make sure I knew where to go, tidbits about the house, etc. When we arrived, late at night, we found the house in good order. The place is very clean, very warm, and has nice charm. The kitchen, dining, and living area are perfect for family gatherings after a hard day on the slopes (Killington/Pico are within an hour's drive). The sleep quarters were spacious enough to accommodate luggage on the floor without tripping over them, and the beds/pillows were comfortable. There are two good sized bathrooms, both with showers, which help with family bedtime or morning routines. Craig has an ample supply of linens, towels, and bathroom paper goods/cleaning supplies, so there's no need to bring your own. The kitchen is also well stocked, although we did find that there was no real sugar (plenty of other sweeteners were available). Overall, our stay was excellent; Craig was an excellent host; I would definitely consider renting the place again, and I would recommend this for folks looking for a quiet or family-oriented getaway.

  • We stayed here for quick and easy access to the triathlon held at Shale Hill. It was a clean and cozy cottage with everything one could wish for. Very clear directions for how to get there, comfortable beds, very functional kitchen and a ceiling fan in every room! It was also nice to be able to sit down by the lake and listen to the water falling over the dam in the evenings. Very beautiful spot - highly recommend! The neighbors are also very friendly :)

  • This place is clean, quiet and cozy. It is warm even when the weather is -15 degree outside. The drive to killington ski area is about an hour. It would be perfect if internet service is available .

    Alan2016-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Location is a quiet and peaceful area. The house is spacious and warm enough during the cold weather. Plenty of supplies in the kitchen for your use. We stayed here for the Killington Ski Resort, which was an easy drive to get to.

  • We had a lovely visit, the place was very clean and well stocked and in a great location for us. Thanks Craig!

    Brian2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a cute, warm house in a nice, remote location. We enjoyed having a fire pit in the yard for chilly evenings (and s'mores!) and were able to get a temporary fishing permit so our son could try fishing off the dock in the yard for the first time. Craig, our host, was great about offering us suggestions of places to visit and eat. This area of Vermont is absolutely gorgeous- everything is green, everywhere you look.

Our peaceful and private lakeside cabin will become your home away from home the moment you walk in the door. The location is perfect for day trips around Vermont and convenient to stores, restaurants, state parks and more. Our home has 2 kayaks, a canoe and a small rowboat for your personal use and the lake is wonderful for swimming, fishing and other water activities.
Our cottage is perfectly located directly on Lake Hortonia's waterfront. While there is not a "beach," we have a dock with a ladder which is long enough for a motorboat. The water is deep enough to jump from the dock and there is also a small swimming raft. The cottage comes equipped with several adult life jackets but if you are coming with children, please bring life jackets for them. ***When going out in the boats, children must wear a life jacket and adults must have theirs in the boat with them.
The Lake Hortonia community is private, peaceful and safe, and the lake never gets the crowded boat traffic neighboring, more popular lakes experience. It is perfect for kayaking, fishing, paddleboarding, and swimming.
  • The house is well maintained and exactly as described. The lake is beautiful, clean, and peaceful. There was great communication and the Campbell's answered all questions leading up to our stay. During our stay Catherine was always available in case we needed anything. It was great to have full use of the dock, canoe, rowboat, and kayaks. The Campbells even brought us a kid's kayak to use when they saw my daughter having some trouble with the adult one. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend.

    Matthew2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a very welcome retreat. My husband and I stayed for three quiet days mid-week. The house was spacious and comfortable, with a kitchen stocked with cooking essentials (pots/pans/dishes/utensils). We loved the screened in porch and had a great time taking the boats out.

    Kari2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Cathy was a friendly host who communicated promptly. The house is near the end of a dead end road and very quiet. The kitchen is spacious, and the second floor bedroom was comfortable. The wifi was good, and the deck overlooking the lake was a lovely place to sit and read and relax. The area is very quiet and remote. The lake is good for kayaking and the water was warm, but I didn't swim because there were weeds. I highly recommend the Cafe Provence in Brandon for dinner. Cathy's home is a good place for peace and quiet. The main drawback is a steep, loose gravel driveway. There is a flat parking area up above the property, but walking up and down the driveway was a challenge as I had sprained my knee a few days before vacation. Someone with mobility issues may have difficulty with the driveway.

    Candace2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our group had a fantastic time at the Campbell's cabin. The kitchen has everything you'd need and more, we cooked for all of meals and never we're searching for a tool. The lake is amazing, the long weekend we were there the water was as warm as bath water! We had a blast tooling around in the kayaks and canoe as well as hanging out on the raft just relaxing and swimming. I definitely recommend the cabin and hope to be back!

    Kimberly2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • It’s the perfect spot for a small vacation. The house is very nice, spacey and clean, fully equipped even with canoes, swim vests and all you’ll need to enjoy the lake. Aaron was very helpful in finding things to do and was knowledgeable about events in the environs. Communication was perfect. We will book again and can recommend the place to anyone.

    Michael2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for those looking to get away from it all. Beautiful lake views. Would recommend picking up groceries in a nearby town like Brandon or Middlebury. There were some kid friendly board games and toys which was great for our 4 year old. Would recommend picking up some firewood for the wood stove and outdoor fire pit.

    Suzanne2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • This could not have been a better property for us. The cottage features a well-appointed screened-in porch with an exquisite view of the lake, a large common room with an eating area and plenty of couches on which to stretch out, and a spacious kitchen. The master bedroom is upstairs and though cozy, is not at all cramped. While the house is not air-conditioned, the ceiling fans on the porch, in the common room, and in the master bedroom kept us quite comfortable. Both Cathy and Carol welcomed us to the cottage when we arrived and gave us superb tips on where to eat and what sights to see in the area (The Lake House Pub & Grille on Lake Bomoseen is a short drive away and offers food that matches its view of the water). We felt that if we did have any questions or concerns, that Cathy and Carol would have responded promptly, cheerfully, and helpfully. But we did not have any questions or concerns. We spent our days enjoying the calm and remarkably temperate waters of Lake Hortonia, swimming, kayaking, and just gazing upon its arresting beauty. We arrived carrying a considerable amount of accumulated job stress and left feeling like our pockets were now full of sunshine.

    Ronald2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful location and has all any family could wish for when wanting a lake front vacation spot. Kayaks are a great way to explore Lake Hortonia and this home's direct access was fantastic. Tree cover provides wonderful afternoon shade. Kel especially enjoyed rocking on the screened porch both mornings and evenings! The home is equipped everything you'll need. Smooth transaction, check-in and out. It was kind of Cathy to leave us some coffee since we travel with K cups.

    - Le Petit Pavillon - surrounded by a forest, sunny kitchen, formal living with fireplace, family room with fireplace, screened in porch to watch the fireflies at night all of this on 3 acres of land. Ticonderoga as the Iroquois Indians called it, meaning between two lakes, you can enjoy Lake George or Lake Champlain. The ferry to Vermont is just down the road and so is the train station that will take you to Montreal or New York City. The perfect place for family reunions.
  • Beautiful!!! My family and I really enjoyed the home.

  • My girlfriends and I loved our stay at Suzanne's. The house is beautiful and spacious (when we walked in, there were audible "oooohs" and "aaaahs"), and the rooms so clean. The beds were comfortable, and the location was superb. Suzanne very thoughtfully left us some breakfast items to fuel us up for the race we were running. I highly recommend.

  • Suzanne was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was clear and quick with communication and offered helpful tips throughout our contact. The house was beautiful, even better looking than the pictures. It was a lovely quiet evening and I would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking to spend a nice quiet night in the area

  • Suzanne's house is not just another house. Its an experience and history attached to it. We were a group of 4 families with 3 kids. The moment we walked in, everyone were in awe of the place. Her house was so large that we were thinking of locking a few rooms so that everyone were in the same place together :) The house had all that is required for a comfortable stay for a large family. It had all the utensils, silverware, glassware and a very well designed kitchen. There were 6 bedrooms with extremely comfortable bedding. We all slept like babies. There was a lot of space for kids to play and an amazing collection of books. Grill and a cozy deck added to a perfect summer getaway for us. Suzanne was very responsive and made sure we we had a comfortable stay at her place. She personally came to receive us even though the weather was really bad. I will be back to Le Peti Pavillon soon.

  • Suzanne was a very responsive and great host! Her home was very neat and tidy, and she even provided a few breakfast items for us. Although there is no wifi and limited signal, it was nice to disconnect for a few days. The house is conveniently located near a Walmart so it is ideal if you plan on buying groceries and cooking. It is also a short drive to Lake George. I highly recommend le petit pavillon for big groups looking to have a nice and relaxing getaway.Would definitely come back :)

  • Le petit pavilion was beautiful, clean and has a ton of space! The host is very responsive and even had left us treats and breakfast items.

Great location and price. This cottage is waterfront and set back off the main road, in a small group of family owned cottages. Un-plug and reconnect with your family or partner. Easy day trips to Burlington and Shelburne, and nearby to Middlebury, Rutland, Brandon, and Castleton in the lakes region of central Vermont. Perfect for couples or small families.
If you're looking to unwind, this is the place for you. Welcome to our vintage 1920's cottage on Beautiful Lake Hortonia in Central Vermont, nearby many Vermont attractions. The cottage is located on a private dead-end drive, with only 6 other cottages and provides renters with exclusive lake frontage and a dock for swimming, fishing, or just enjoying the sun. Two brand new Kayaks are also available with the rental. The cottage is exceptionally clean, and new furniture has been added throughout, including new bed frames, mattresses, and boxsprings, new living room furniture, and new appliances. A dine-on water-front deck is perfect for meals and relaxing in the sun, and is just off the dining room. The home has a half bath off the dining room, and a shower house just out the front door. This is a quiet place to unwind, and does not have tv, wifi, (it does have Verizon cell service though), and is stocked with lots of vintage board games, books, and lake fun to re-connect with your partner or family.
It's like stepping back in time here. These cottages were built in the early 1900's and still have their original charm. This particular one, was originally the lake's boathouse, hence the big, wide, lake facing doors that open towards the water.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this adorable lake house. The house retains its vintage feel but provides a few modern amenities. We enjoyed kayaking around the lake and swimming in the crystal clear water. The shower house added to the feeling of being at a vintage campground, the house was decorated with fun and colorful furnishings, and the peace and quiet was heavenly!

  • We truly enjoyed staying on Lake Hortonia! We kayaked everyday and enjoyed being right on the lake. This is a great location to hang out in this part of VT.

    James2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was as described - charming, peaceful, well-equipped and spotless - and Mark was very easy to communicate with. It was impossible not to relax with options from lazing in the hammock to sunning on the raft after a long swim. Having the kayaks at our disposal meant we were able to explore lake at our leisure. The is a great place to get away from it all!

Our guest house is a remodeled barn adjacent to our home but entirely separate. A "magical" bedroom upstairs, for kids of all ages. Fireplace downstairs, with living & dining areas, bathroom with shower. Minor cooking: fridge, micro wave, etc. Gas grill and fire pit. A canoe, flat bottomed boat. Bring binocs if you are a birder. Best part: it is entirely secluded with 25 acres of forested land surrounding it AND it is directly on Lake Champlain with easy small boat access. Kayaks welcome.
A PERFECT WRITERS RETREAT, WITH OUR NESTING OSPREYS FOR COMPANY. We are the southern most house on the Lake in Vermont and look directly into the Adirondacks. Please note that the "second " bedroom is the living room downstairs with a very comfortable sofa bed. We have hiking trails on the property, and a small secret waterfall.
  • Great place for a quiet get away. Cynthia was a great host and made us feel at home.

  • We had such a great stay here. We took our boat up the Champlain Canal and met Cynthia on their cove. The guest house was perfect and we enjoyed every minute of our visit there. All the details of the house are amazing, as is the view, and the peace and quiet. And there is even a waterfall! We can't recommend The Last House on the Lake enough.

    thaddeus2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Many thanks to Cynthia for a memorable four days at the guest house. We were pleased to find the little fridge filled with delicious treats upon arrival (and a comfortable pair of beds upstairs). We explored the lake with the "house canoe", and her Last House was perfectly situated for our various day trips: Green Mountain National Forest, Middlebury, Brandon, and the 2017 Benson Burdock Festival (which you don't want to miss if you're here in August). Cynthia's caretaker Tabby was very helpful in getting us situated (and her courtesy and responsiveness was greatly appreciated). The cottage was super-comfortable with incomparable views, amazing sunsets and that great sense of seclusion which we happen to love when we're traveling. Grazie molto... we hope to return soon!

  • The lake was impressive and very quiet. The lodging was very charming and a pretty recent renovation. A daytime arrival would be recommended.

  • Staying at Cynthia's home was Truly amazing. We couldn't have gotten a host anymore perfect, she is very sweet and provided us with snacks, a canoe to explore the beautiful lake, and (because it was my birthday) cupcakes! The scenery is absolutely gorgeous and the amazing amount of stars are breathe taking. It is a true getaway from everyday life and I high recommend to anyone.

    Eddie2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a lovely spot and Cynthia and Steve were kind and generous hosts. Being right by the lake where eagles were hunting was awesome to see, and the beautiful sun set behind the mountains was such a treat. Thank you!

    Carly2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia's last house on the lake was heaven. We had a huge backyard leading to Lake Champlain, and she let us use her kayak. There was a nice breeze at night so we didn't even need the fan. The breeze also kept mosquitoes away. Cynthia was very sweet, she had treats on the table when we arrived, and a stocked fridge. She even bought my husband cupcakes because we were celebrating his birthday. She gave us our privacy and was there when we needed her. Beds were very comfortable. If we had kids, this would be a perfect house as well. Wonderful stay and amazing host. You will feel so welcomed under Cynthia's presence and lovely home.

    Carmen2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • If you need a quiet and peaceful place to stay and rest, you'll find it there. The nature!!! Amazing. The view? Priceless. The weather. A thousand time better than in New Jersey. We didn't have a chance to meet our hosts, but we didn't feel unwelcome. Everything was waiting for us, even full fridge and treats on the table.

    Last House on the Lake
    15 commentaires
Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and on the Vermont Historic Registry as a Historic Homestead. Built in 1790 as a Tavern and overnight stage coach stop on the NYC-Montreal run. This working farm is located in the lower Champlain Valley of Vermont. Facing east the house has a 40 mile panoramic view of the Green Mts. Bedroom suite has a full bath and adjoining library. 15 miles from Castleton University and Green Mt. College and 24 miles from Middlebury College. Only minutes away from the last boat landing on Lake Champlain and a short ferry ride away from Fort Ticonderoga with the Hubbardton Battle Field 10 minutes to the east. 24 miles from Rutland and 38 miles from Pico and Killington Ski areas. Access to fishing and hiking. We also have two endangered species of birds on the farm and the globally endangered “Ogden Pond Weed” in Parson's Pond located on the farm. The Vermont Forestry keeps track of the second largest, oldest Oak tree in the state on the farm as well as the last untouched Clay Plain Forest in the state. We breed Trakehner horses, make hay, breed an occasional litter of Standard poodles, house Willie's BBQ (seasonal) on the farm. Amble parking and wireless high speed internet available. Breakfast included. We look forward to meeting you.
  • Debra is a lovely lady with true passion for horses. She went above and beyond to make us comfortable and showed us around to pet her animals. The breakfasts she made were absolutely delicious. I still miss those scones!! We had a huge historic house for ourselves. Each room has a separate bathroom, which we didn't expect. The neighborhood is very quiet and there is a very clean lake 3 miles from the house. Overall, great personal experience - I would definitely come back!

Enjoy 150' water frontage, large dock, beautiful sunsets, Weber grill, firepit, hammock, short walk to the town sandy beach & only five mins to the boat launch. The large backyard overlooking the lake is spectacular during the day and night! The town beach has lifeguards, bathrooms, swings, volleyball, and picnic pavilion. All linens & comforters are washed for each guest. Our lake house is perfect for families - there's even a finished basement for kids with ping-pong and a foosball table!
It is rare that you don't hear someone talking about the sunsets or sunrises at Lake George - they are often spectacular. And, one of the awesome things about our lake house is that it faces south west so that you get marvelous sunsets over Rogers Rock! There aren't many houses on the lake that boast this view. This house is located in a quiet neighborhood on a paved road near the town of Ticonderoga. So, if you've forgotten half and half or ran out of marshmallows you're only a 5-8 minute drive to a store. Of course days are beautiful on the lake, but save some energy to star-gaze from the dock or large boulder at the water's edge. The north end of the lake is far less populated so the nighttime sky is filled with stars. If you're fortunate to be staying during the meteor shower it will be an experience you won't soon forget! If you're bringing your boat you'll find an easy launch and docking experience awaits you. The Mossy Point boat launch is public and less than five minutes from the house. Or, you can rent a boat at the Snug Harbor Marina, also only 5 minutes away.
  • What a wonderful house. It's even better than in the pictures and what a joy to spend a week there. We were 2 families with 5 kids and we all loved our stay there! My 6 years old son could not help but cry when we left. Rob and Heather are beyond being helpful, they were available within seconds! What a joy to have dinner with the view of the sun setting!

Our beautiful lake house was completed in 2007 by an Adirondack master builder. We love to share our house with responsible groups throughout the year when the house is available. During the Summer we rent the house from Saturday to Saturday.
Relax and enjoy our custom built lakefront home on the north end of Lake George. The house is located in a quiet no-wake zone so there is very little boat traffic around the house. Bring your boat or rent from the local marina and enjoy the Queen of America's lake!
The house is located in the historic Town of Ticonderoga, very close to shopping, restaurants and of course the Historic Fort.
  • Great place on a quiet part of the lake. We would stay here again.

  • Peter's Cedar Home is a beautiful quiet home on the very northern end of Lake George. It was spacious, clean.and comfortable. There is a nice large side yard so be sure to bring lawn games or soccer balls etc. Peter has a canoe and kayaks which provided the family with hours of fun. There is a dock for a small boat and make sure you visit the public black just down the road. We spent a few hours a day there and the kids loved playing volleyball, going to the park and swimming. Enjoy!

    Kevin2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's house was exactly as advertised, and more! The kitchen was stocked with any spice you could need, and some basic food prep ingredients; there were plenty of kitchen tools, even a Vitamix blender. The rest of the house was very clean and did not disappoint. There were plenty of towels and linens for use. Peter was very helpful and responded promptly with any questions I had. For those looking to rent a boat, Snug Harbor Marina is only .7 miles away. For the price, you really can't beat this house for a nice weekend away with friends or family.

    Andy2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Peter was pleasant and responsive by email and text, and it was nice to have a dock where we could do a little fishing and have a rental boat. But we should have asked more pointed questions about the location. Ticonderoga doesn't have much to offer visitors. We thought it would be nice to be so close to a town, but instead we felt that our location lacked privacy and we had to travel far to find places we wanted to eat. And although we could keep a boat at the dock, we didn't realize it would take at least 20 minutes in the narrow and densely built no-wake zone (each way) to reach the main part of the lake, which makes it not so easy to come and go from the house while spending days on the lake. You can't just go out for a quick spin, and it's not a welcoming spot for swimming right at the house. Also, the interior of the house is fine, but not great. The bathrooms feel kind of cramped. The master bedroom is not really big enough for the king bed. It would be more comfortable (and you might be less likely to hit your knees at night on the bedpost) with a queen bed. We still had fun being on Lake George when we headed out to the main part of the lake, but we ended up feeling that we paid much more than we should have for what this location actually offers.

    Blair2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was very accurate and the cabin was everything you would expect and then some for a weekend at the Lake. The backyard area was perfect for grilling, and it was easy to launch canoes directly into the lake from the backyard. For those not familiar with the area, Ticonderoga is the northern tip and a bit far from the more lively Lake George town area, but Peter's cabin allowed for a more isolated getaway. It is a quick boat ride to the heart of the Lake, and Wal-Mart nearby made it easy to stock up for cheap. Overall definitely reccomend the cabin for those looking for a lake house rental.

    Bryant2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Peter was an incredibly nice, responsive, and flexible host. His home is cozy and great for our large group. Snug harbor marina could not have been more convenient for the boat rental! Would absolutely stay at Peter's house again.

    Elizabeth2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Peter provided a lot of helpful information about the location. The house is on the northern end of the lake in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. The neighbors we met during our stay were lovely. We rented a boat, visited islands on the lake, spent afternoons fishing and swimming, and then docked it at our own private dock. We went canoeing, and hiking at the nearby mountains. We rode our bikes and explored the area. It was a great family trip!

    Lori2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • My 7 friends and I (plus a dog!) spent Memorial Day weekend at the house, and we had an amazing time. The photos do not do this house justice... It is more spacious and modern than shown. We loved grilling on the deck, making fires in the fire pit, and fishing off the dock. The highlight of our trip was renting a pontoon boat nearby and spending the day on Lake George.

  • A beautiful location on the water with sunset views. The house is comfortable with plenty of room for the 4 adults in our party. We were very happy to have a private dock for our kayaks and a ladder for easy access to the water. Marina only a mile away for boat rentals. Guy, the host, is lovely and accomodating. The only negative is you are near the boating channel so there's a fair amount of boat traffic on a summer weekend. Along with your sheets, bring mattress pads, and get ready for an enjoyable week.

  • This home is in an ideal location for Ticonderoga-based events, not smack in the midst of downtown, but a very short drive there (or back) over a few gently rolling hills, and the directions are easy to follow. The property is in a quiet, picturesque location, across the street from what appears to be a small marina on the northern end of Lake George, nestled among horse farms. The property is practical, and the wi-fi is excellent in an area where that often can be an issue. The owner responded pretty quickly to a question I had about the logistics of locking up and gave helpful instructions about getting to town, and the locations of businesses such as gas stations. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

This cottage is set on 10 secluded acres on the shore of Lake Champlain in Shoreham, Vermont. It is set in the middle of apple orchards and farmland. There is a path through the woods down to the lake and several boat put ins nearby. The ferry to New York and Fort Ticonderoga is about 2 miles away. Sitting in the backyard, you can look out on the lake and the Adirondacks, the Green Mountains are behind you. 3 kayaks are available to use on the lake.
  • Marie was very responsive and friendly. It was very easy to settle in and exit the house. It was the perfect size for our family of 4 and little dog. Everything felt new and clean. The land around us was beautiful. Sadly the water level was low so we could not use the kayaks, but they were there and ready for us if we wanted to. There is a lot to do in the surrounding area. Our favorite part was just being together in the house playing games, and morning coffee on the deck with the view!

  • Marie and Dennis were easy to contact and provided very clear information about the house. The house was very nice and provided everything we needed for a weekend away, it's ideally situated where you can explore Lake Champlain on your own or drive up to Burlington/Middlebury/Ticonderoga and more. I would definitely go back, thanks again!

  • This is a wonderful summer house with a beautiful view over the lake. A place to read, write, talk or you can just explore the area. There is lots to see and Marie and Dennis have it all mapped out for. They are great hosts and make you feel welcome at any time.

    Jens 2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures and description of the house are accurate. Marie was responsive and available for questions at any point during our stay. The property itself is beautiful and so are the surrounding towns. Highly recommend for an extended weekend getaway.

  • We absolutely loved this little cottage and hope to come again to it! Thank you for sharing it Marie and Dennis, and for keep it so clean and lovely for guests.

    Kathleen2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the size and the seclusion of the property. Truly felt separated from everyone. Definitely a little bit buggy, but that's to be expected this time of year. The lake has large algae blooms and grass that prevents swimming directly on shore, but there are plenty of beaches and swimming in the area if that's your jam. Power plant across the lake is barely visible from back deck and most of back yard. Huge amount of space for a cottage (both inside and out,) and more than enough room for everyone. Would definitely rent again.

    Aaron2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Marie was very easy to work with and their place is truly wonderful. Set on the beach and has multiple orchards in the surrounding areas! They had some basic baking/cooking ingredients which was very helpful. List of things to do in surrounding areas. Bummer for us the lake was so low and gross to get out into we decided not to Kayak. Additionally the way to get down to the lake looked quite difficult to get a Kayak down, multi-level pretty steep steps to get down. Though if the water had been better we might have endured the challenging decent anyways. If you're looking to get out of the city and enjoy a peaceful getaway with no one to bug you, this is your place!

    Ashley2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the adorable cottage. It was a very nice location on the lake and we loved visiting the small towns around it in Vermont. Very close to the Fort Ticonderoga ferry and the Fort. We had a great time.

Enjoy a cozy room in a charming woodland cottage. Queen bed, private bath, kitchen access, sunroom, living room, wood stove, WiFi, shared TV (no cable), breakfast. Private dock on pristine lake, swimming, fishing, kayak/canoe, trails & nearby villages. The cottage is not child-proofed and has stairs inside and out which could be dangerous for toddlers.
Fern Hill is located on an acre of forested land. Beebe Lake is small, quiet and pristine. Most boats on this lake are non-motorized. Bird feeders are set up in the front of the cottage for those who enjoy bird watching, and humming birds frequent the front porch. From the back of the cottage you can follow a path up to a historic wooden water tower which is now a small studio and a great place to read or meditate. There are numerous hiking trails nearby and quaint villages to visit.
The neighbors around the lake are friendly and helpful. There are numerous shops and restaurants within 7-20 miles of the cottage in the towns of Brandon, Middlebury, Rutland and Castleton and on Lake Bomoseen.
  • Staying at Fern Hill was truly an amazing experience! Me and my husband were looking for a relaxing getaway from the city and we found the perfect place in Barb's lake cottage! The cottage is incredibly cozy, welcoming and has the homey feeling everybody is looking for. On top of everything, Barb has been the most amazing host! Upon our arrival, Barb was very communicative and made sure we'll find the way without any troubles. She greeted us with a smile and gave us a tour around the cottage, gave us suggestions for where to eat and what to see. And fixed us delicious breakfast next day in the morning! We loved the place and we'll be definitely coming back!!

    Petra2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Barbra was a wonderful host. Quick responses and detailed directions to the cottage. We were greeted warmly with a welcome note and maple candy on our pillows. Barbara ask if we would like to join her by the fireplace, where we enjoy a nice conversation. Barbara knew I was in town for Spartan Race... read up on it and suggested I definitely have some power breakfast. Glad I listened!!! Coffee, fresh fruit, bacon, eggs, toast & VT jams & local honey soooo good. We enjoyed the house freely and were encouraged to. Great host great stay!

    Shirley2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara was welcoming and friendly, and shared her well supplied kitchen with us freely. She was very helpful with finding us good local bike routes. Her house is in a lovely spot secluded, clean and cosy. We enjoyed exploring the lake in her canoe, the bed was comfortable, and she was a great host. Great birds in the feeders just outside the light-filled porch where she fed us delicious breakfasts with local jams. She has had an interesting life and it was fun to get to know her.

    Alison2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was the first time Chris and I had tried an Air BnB. We had no idea what to expect and were pleasantly surprised with how great it was. Not only was Barbara accommodating with our schedules but she was also very warm and welcoming with her adorable assistant Oliver (the cat). It was so nice to come back after a long day to a comfy bed and wake up to a delicious breakfast. I cannot speak highly enough of Barbara's warmth and hospitality and would suggest to anyone looking for a restful relaxing place on a lake. We are hoping to go back at some point and stay again since we loved it so much!

    Kaitlin2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Fern Hill has a lovely view of the lake. Barbara is very knowledgeable about the area, and easily gave us directions and suggestions as needed. We had chosen to bring food and eat in for our first night; once we witnessed the activity at the bird feeders we decided we'd do the same for the second night. We also enjoyed visiting Taconic Mountains Ramble state park (a short drive away) and kayaking on the lake. All in all it was a lovely, relaxing weekend and we plan to visit again.

  • Thank you, Alan, for this cozy nest, surrounded by beautiful nature, trees and lake. It was beautifully quiet, and we woke to the magic of mist on the lake. The bed was very comfortable, kitchen worked well, and the table at the window with that wonderful view, was perfect. I loved that we could bring our dog, who was also cozy, and that there was a door right to the outside for him. And there couldn't be better hosts than Alan & Eva, who were warmly welcoming and informative about the area, and anything we needed to know. A sweet retreat......

  • Alan's lake house is a great Vermont location. He and his wife were very friendly and went out of their way to be communicative and welcoming. While we visited in the winter I can only imagine how great it would be in the spring and summer! We would definitely stay with Alan and his wife again!

Enjoy the "East Wing" of our unique 1830 farm house: upstairs bedroom with king size bed & downstairs den with sofa bed, private bathroom, & dining area. Enjoy access to our country kitchen, deck, & porch at our Healing Retreat, www.OldKingFarm.com.
Our 1830's farm house was previously owned by a fabulous artist that did mosaic tile design. You will notice the colorful back splash in our kitchen has red winged black birds on reeds, a common site looking out from the deck! The East wing has a new but quaint feel, recently restored with all new rooms.
When you stroll up to the high points of our pasture lands you will see an amazingly long vista of the Green Mountains, and just a peek of the Adirondacks from behind the trees. On a quiet afternoon you might hear a distant train whistle coming across Lake Champlain, a few miles away. Many painters and photographers love our place for the view, which looks more like Tuscany or upcountry Maui. The village of Benson, seems like Mayberry from the 1950's. Be sure to enjoy the general store! The surrounding area is rich in colonial history and natural beauty, with dairy cows often outnumbering the locals! We are about an hour from Killington , Burlington, or Lake George, and 40 minutes from Middlebury and Vergennes. There are good restaurants in Fair Haven, Brandon, and Shoreham, or try the Wheel Inn in the village.
  • An unexpectedly beautiful and unique weekend trip! The pictures don't do the farmhouse justice. 10/10 would recommend. Old King Farm is also a "healing retreat," with an organic biodynamic greenhouse, a little wooden house ideal for meditation/mindfulness, and Dr. Orest's fully equipt patient room. Dr. Orest is a licensed practitioner in Chinese and holistic medicine and was at a conference in Germany for most of our stay, but we got the pleasure to meet him a few hours before we left. He invited us to join him for his daily meditation routine, which was such a pleasant experience. He also recommended us a few nearby tourist attractions and restaurant picks as well as other upcoming local events, as this was our first time in Vermont. James, the farmhouse caretaker and our host, was so so welcoming and personable. From touring us through the nooks and corners of the house (and there are many) to accommodating our dinner with fresh farm to table veggies from their biodynamic greenhouse, from late night dune buggy rides to the unique fire pit experience (hi Dom and Justin!), James went above and beyond all of our host standards to make this experience that much more special. Old King Farm is perfect for those looking for a new, personalized, unconventional getaway experience outside of the traditional B&Bs. The general area is very secluded, with sparse civilization outside of the farm for at least a few miles. This makes wifi spotty and service almost nonexistent, so be prepared for that. For myself and three friends living in NYC, the break from technology was refreshing. There were also many flies/critters inside and out of the house, which we were expecting on a farm. Personable hosts, generous accommodations, and a beautiful space are what makes this airbnb stand out. Thanks so much Dr. O and the people at Old King Farm for an unforgettable weekend!

  • Great view of the hills from the house. Huge domain. Nice house. They also have some historical barns and planning to build a new library for the thousands of spiritual materials they already have. This place has the potential to be a great spiritual retreat for many generations to come. James is the shaman resident. He can live in the house but he actually prefers to live in a nice tent on the property. James is taking good care of the property and the tourists. He was very nice and offered us fresh veggies from the garden upon our arrival. As the Airbnb webpage says, the breakfast is not included, still James gave us a couple of fresh tomatoes in the morning to have them with us on the long drive home. Thanks, James. Dr. Orest and his good friend Yuri arrived at around 10 PM from New York. They joined James and I around the fire outside and we shared stories and discussed spiritual subjects until 1 in the morning. James performed a shaman ritual at the end. Great memories. Looking forward to keep in touch. Next morning we left in a hurry because we had a long way to go that day to reach our home in Canada. In our hurry we forgot some clothes behind. I contacted James and he offered himself to mail us our belongings. Thanks again, James, and sorry for the troubles…

  • James, the care taker of this property, is the most friendly person I've ever met. The place was tidy & as depicted. James & rest of the farm crew made us feel like home, one of the best AirBnB stay ever. Highly recommend Old King Farm, if you are looking for a peaceful get away.

  • This Airbnb is a jem in nature. Rolling green hills of Vermont are its surrounding. The house is very peaceful, your private room is in the east wing where the walls are painted a golden yellow. As the sun rises and sets the room feel so serene. Small hikes surrounding the barns are very manageable. There is even a neighborhood deer for you to become friends with and other sweet animals around the property. James - the Shaman - runs the property. He has an incredible life story to share. He is very conscious of his guest and always offering help. He even took me to pick bio dynamic vegetables in the greenhouse on the property!

    Basya2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem! We feel very lucky to have found it. It is so much more than a B&B! The host was super helpful and knowledgeable and even gave my husband an acupuncture session, which was incredible. We had fresh eggs from the farm next door and freshly picked tomatoes from the property that has a biodynamic vegetable garden. The area offers a number of fun activities easy to access, cruises on the Champlain river, Maple Syrup museum, great restaurants, the vibrant college town of Middlebury not that far away. It is a place to get recharged and energized and spend some time, definitely for more than one day.

  • It was excellent stay.. Caretaker James is a awesome person and unique personality..he offered us a farm walk and also arranged night fire for us.. Visited us multiple times to ask about our comfort.. You get beautiful view from patio.. Huge 110 acres of land.. And yes you get the company of cat in this house though she did not disturb us at all and always was there in living room.. Overall nice experience.. Thanks for hosting us.

The location is great--you can easily drive to Middlebury or Burlington (and everything in between) and when you walk out the front door you have a beautiful view of the mountains and nearby farms. The apartment is very stylish and cozy, and the coffee was wonderful :) The Webers were fantastic hosts and I hope to stay here again soon. I'm definitely going to tell my parents and friends about this place!

  • Once again and possibly for our final time we had the pleasure of staying at Peter and Graziella's home/apt. Over the course of the 4 years that our daughter attended Middlebury College it has become our absolute favorite place to stay! Honestly, it is as comfortable as being in our own home. We appreciated all of the personal touches including the lilacs in our room, refrigerator filled with morning necessities, bathrobes hanging by the bathroom, abundance of thick plush towels, and all the fine toiletries you might need. On the morning of the day before graduation I had time to contemplate the time gone by sitting on their patio overlooking a spectacular Vermont vista (having my first cup of coffee). It was quite chilly out and being the perfect hostess, Graziella actually came out and covered me with a blanket! I am only hopeful that some day in the future we will once again have the opportunity to stay at Peter and Graziella's home.

    Lisa2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay in Peter & Graziella's lovely apartment. We returned for a second two-night get-away because the first visit was so perfect. We're so appreciative for their warm welcome, the extra amenities they provide and their graciousness. The apartment is clean, spacious, private and well-stocked. We love the fun and funky artwork that makes it especially original. The home is just 10 minutes from Middlebury, but honestly, we didn't have a lot of need to leave! Graziella recommended the Shoreham Inn for dinner and it was great advice. We hope to return yet again.

    leandre2014-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Peter and Graziella's place is fantastic! When my girlfriend and I got there, Graziella was very welcoming and even left us some iced tea. The apartment was clean, spacious, and homie. We watched the sun go down over their backyard, and then drove to Middlebury for dinner. Middlebury is a 15 minute drive at most (depending on how fast you drive). It has some good places to eat and it's nice to walk around. We returned to Whiting that night and despite there being no AC, the windows provided great ventilation and kept us cool - we slept like babies. The next day we had breakfast at a small diner in Middlebury. We then drove to Burlington. The drive to burlington is amazing, and really easy. We walked around Burlington for the day and came home. We liked the place so much we decided to just make dinner and spent the rest of the night in the apartment (there is a mini kitchen). We didn't want to leave the next day. Unfortunately we didn't get to say goodbye to Graziella, or even meet Peter. But we had everything we needed for the whole weekend and I think we'll be going back. Great place!

    Robert2012-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for Middlebury College Parent's Weekend. The location worked out extremely well, as we had time in town as well as at nearby Lake Dunmore. The house is situated on a beautiful piece of land sloping off to the west and the sunsets. Easy drive into Middlebury. The apartment is very spacious, comfortable and well appointed. It has a separate entrance to the main house, so privacy is very high. Peter and Graziella were gracious, welcoming hosts, and even provided a little breakfast supplies for the apartment - completely unexpected. Communications prior to the visit were excellent. We'd definitely stay here again!

    Andy2012-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Webers' apartment was the perfect place for the getaway my friend and I needed during this long winter. The space is bright and roomy, and we made full use of the cozy couches to catch up over coffee and wine. The apartment feels quite separate from the house and is very quiet. The surroundings are stunning, as the photos show. It would make an ideal place for a personal retreat. We thoroughly enjoyed Graziella's art and her decorating style. As hosts, the Webers were just lovely. We were welcomed warmly by Graziella and then left to enjoy the space. Peter llater emailed to make sure we knew we could check out late as no one was staying the night we left. They had great suggestions for exploring the area and as a previous guest said, they are the kind of folks you wish you had taken time to get to know more. If you're looking for a place in mid-May, I would choose this one if only to be surrounded by all apple trees in blossom.

    Lesli2014-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous apartment on a beautiful 5 acre farm. It did rain almost everyday but the farm was still beautiful and accessible. Peter and Graziella had provisions awaiting us and we could not thank them enough. Wonderful!

    Susan and Michael2011-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped, from bedroom to kitchen to full bath. In the hosts' attention to detail, such as supplying spices, maps, soaps, games, and fresh food for breakfast, is a welcoming interest in visitors as people. The location is quiet and sublime. There is excellent rural road biking through the area. Twenty-five minutes west by bike is the ferry crossing to Ticonderoga, New York. Fifteen or twenty minutes east by car is Green Mountain National Forest. Ten minutes north by car is Middlebury. Graziella and Libra, her happy and playful dog, treated us immediately as friends on their apple orchard. We would gladly return.

Hubbardton, VT is located in the Taconic mountain range halfway between Rutland and Middlebury. Experience this beautifully appointed waterfront home nestled on a private wooded site overlooking Lake Beebe and Eagle Rock. Enjoy canoeing, bass fishing or just relax!
Motorboats are not permitted on the lake to maintain tranquility. Paddlers can enjoy canoeing and fishing on the water. In addition, stock car racing at Devils Bowl in Fair Haven, the rodeo at Pond Hill Ranch in Castleton, the Hubbardton Battlefield and museums and shopping are available within a short drive from Lake Beebe.
  • We spent a perfect long weekend at The Little Red House. Joe was so nice. He met with us when we arrived, showed us around the house, and gave us tips on things to do and places to go. The house is beautiful and in the perfect location - it's on a private drive right on the lake. It's so quiet and peaceful. Essentials were provided and we had access to a full kitchen and grill. It was very convenient and comfortable. We had a blast taking the canoe out. We lounged on the deck and took in the breathtaking views. The house was 20 minutes or less from everything we wanted to do, including great hiking spots, restaurants ranging from casual to upscale, a charming cafe, and a fun brewery. Though we did plenty of activities and took in the sights, we also enjoyed the comfort and privacy the house offered. It was honestly perfect for us, and we would love to go back. We have no complaints! Thanks to Joe and Isabelle for a lovely time at The Little Red House! We definitely recommend it to others. Whether you're looking for a more relaxing getaway or an active trip, you'll find it here.

  • Great house on a beautiful lake. The hosts were very accommodating and welcoming. They did a great job in providing amenities to enjoy the outdoors and the lake; plenty of outdoor seating, a lakeside fire pit, a canoe, and even some fishing equipment. The lovely house that met all of our needs in a great location made for the perfect getaway for our family.

  • My boyfriend, Jesse, and I enjoyed a quiet long weekend at the little red house. The house is cozy, clean, updated, and functional. The upstairs bedroom had a stunning view of the lake. One of the best features of this home is there wall to wall windows on the back of the home overlooking the lake. The bathroom was chic and spacious. I appreciated the personal touches leaving us a loofa and soap in the shower. There is a large collection of books for your reading pleasure. We enjoyed reading and listening to music on the wrap around deck. To our surprise Joe and Isabelle also had floats (in addition to the canoe) to use in the lake. We had a wonderful weekend to relax and recharge - very peaceful and private. I highly recommend booking with Joe and Isabelle!

  • My husband and I had a nice quiet and relaxing stay on the lake. The house was a perfect blend of modern convenience and Vermont comfort. It was thoughtfully stocked and had everything we needed. Joe was next door when we arrived to show us around and answer any questions we had.

  • The lake house was cozy and spacious.

  • We stayed for a weekend in September. The lake is lovely, and was still swimmable. The hosts provide an amazing collection of watercraft, and we were able to take two family canoe trips. The house is comfortable, and though the kitchen is small, it is well equipped. We didn't realize that linens weren't provided (our fault, not the hosts) and they rescued us with sheets and towels. A great place to stay for visiting the Middlebury area!

  • My family and I had a fantastic weekend at this lake house. The lake itself is beautiful and the water is crystal clear. The views from the house are absolutely stunning! The house is very cozy and completely equipped with everything you need. Thank you Mary and Joe for an unforgettable weekend!

  • If you are debating whether or not to choose this cabin on Beebe Pond, stop debating and reserve it now. Joe and Mary's place is a hidden gem, and you will not find more gracious hosts. The photos and description do not do the cabin justice. The view from the terrace each morning across the lake (it is bigger than a pond) is enough to want you to come back, but there is so much more to offer. The cabin is a lot bigger than it looks, and can easily hold up to 8 people, six comfortably with a bed each. Joe and Mary have kayaks, a canoe, paddle boat, row boat and even a sunfish sailboat at your disposition, and your hardest decision is which to take out on the lake. Joe was always available, communication was impeccable, and both Joe and Mary always offered their assistance. The cabin is very clean, big and more than sufficient to meet all your needs. Wild life is all about, and it is not hard to find, being just off Route 30. Fishing in the lake is very good, full of largemouths, pike and panfish galore (great for young fishermen). There is plenty to do in the local area as well, but the lake is so appealing you may not even want to leave. We will definitely be coming back!

  • Everything was perfect. Looking forward to go back. House was ready and clean upon our arrival. The interior was so much nicer and more cozy of the pictures and what we have expected. The terrace is huge. We have spent most of our time there. Outside was very cold but the house got warm pretty quick and easy. They have lots of facilities you can use like sun-chairs and boats. .we didnt use them cause it was end of Oct and very cold. The only thing was there is no service on your phone . We needed to call and I went to ask Joe what to do and he kindly let us use their house phone. Internet is also available but a bit weak. We will definatly be back to use all those great facilities.

This home is perfect for six guests and can accommodate eight with the memory foam queen-sized pull-out couch in the living room or the queen-sized air mattress in one of the bedrooms.
Enjoy Adirondack charm without compromising on comfort. This home, built in the 90s, is very clean and well maintained. The furniture is all new, including well appointed beds for a restful night's sleep. The southern exposure, rare for Lake George homes, means you don't have to choose between inspiring sunrises in the east and dramatic sunsets in the west. The combination of the house's unique 10 foot setback from the lake and the panoramic windows in the living room, with picture perfect views of Rogers Rock, give the feeling of floating on top the of the lake without yet stepping outside. Four kayaks and life vests allow you to explore Heart Bay, Rogers Rock, and beyond. Over twenty feet of shallow, sandy swimming along the private dock is perfect for kids before it deepens for more advanced swimmers. We love this quiet northern end of Lake George and have put care and affection into this home so you'll fall in love with it, too.
  • I had a hard time writing this review: we took a risk on a new place, and ended up with an Airbnb guest's dream, and part of me wants to keep it a beautiful secret forever. Andrew's Cottage on the Point was a revelation, an absolutely incredible getaway. The two-story house sits right on the water, and somehow all the windows seem to face the lake. It feels, in the best possible way, like being on a ship. Every inch of the house is immaculate and gorgeously appointed. Andrew and his wife have clearly put a lot of thought and heart into this home, and you feel it at every turn, with details throughout that make you feel like a mind-reader is at work, anticipating your every need: kitchen implements, linens, toiletries, fire-pit, kayaks, life-jackets. Andrew was a great host, often replying within minutes, and with tons of advice about everything, from wood-stove operation to easy train access to area activities---though, once we were there, we pretty much just wanted to stay in the house. It's the kind of place that makes you want to rearrange your life, and live a different dream. We had to tear ourselves away, and can't wait to get back to the quiet, and the breathtaking views.

  • We had an amazing time at the Comfort Cottage on the Point! We've already started thinking about how we can go back for longer next summer! Andrew and Jill were great to work with and answered back quickly whenever we had questions.

  • The home and lake experience is difficult to put in words so I will make it short and sweet, AMAZING!! The setup the home with the decor is well done and so inviting from the moment you walk in. There is not a bad spot in the house to take in the views of the lake. Andrew and his wife did a great job with all the amenities in the home as well as outside. If you haven't been to lake George before the water is so clean, clear and refreshing. The water setup in front the home is great; sandy bottom, gradual drop off which is great for the kids and dock to give you a great place to have coffee in the morning and stargazing at night. I rented a boat for 2 day at Snug marina, 5 to 8 minutes car ride from the house and a most have to get the full experience of the lake. Only down side with having the boat is you can't docking in front of the home overnight. With saying that Snug marina allows you park your vehicle at there marina during the day for free and you can dock the boat at night for free. This worked out well because in the morning the staff had cleaned the boat and I was able to gas up for the next day. The staff at Snug was very helpful. It was difficult to leave this slice of heaven but I'm definitely coming back again!! Thank you Andrew!!!

  • This gorgeous log cabin went far beyond our expectations. It sits right on the lake, and the view from any part of the house is spectacular and serene. We had 6 folks staying at this property over the 4th of July weekend, and we had everything we could possibly want and need: from the well-appointed kitchen stocked with pretty much every piece of kitchenware a chef would desire, to the cozy bedrooms and bathrooms with wonderful personal touches that made the entire house feel like a home (hint: I slept on the convertible sofabed in the living room and the morning sun over the lake is a GLORIOUS way to wake up), a fire pit under the stars for your sweet, warm, summer evenings (pro-tip: bring fixins for s'mores!), a pier for sunning, reading, and jumping into the lake, and kayaks to enjoy the peace and quiet of a sunset paddle. Hosts Andrew and Jill were friendly, accommodating, and easy to reach for any random questions about the house and the Ticonderoga area. One warning: you will not want to leave. Be prepared to want to stay in this magical place forever. We will definitely be back!

  • Perfect location on the lake while close to all supplies (small town, Walmart, Marina etc). You can enjoy the garden and the deck and stay there all day or on the contrary move around and enjoy the many attractions that the lake offer. Both options are perfectly available. The house is in perfect condition and obviously very well maintained. Andrew has been extremely helpful and always very quick to answer. A truly wonderful experience. Thank you very much andrew for letting us discover this place!

  • Our stay at Andrew & Jill's place was amazing! They went above and beyond to make it comfortable and enjoyable. After booking I asked Jill if there are any local places to rent fishing poles from and after researching and not finding anything they just bought all required gear prior to our stay. We spent many hours on a dock fishing with my daughter and father, and even while we didn't catch much that was a great bonding time. The house is in a quiet place and view from the living room is INCREDIBLE. It has a rustic feel but modernly decorated with a great taste. Everything you can think of is there — board games, comfortable outdoor chairs, hammock, kayaks, fire pit, grill, dock, you name it. The house was very clean and all the furniture is of a good quality. We will definitely try to stay at Andrew & Jill's house again next time we're at Lake George!

    Eugene2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • What an awesome place. Jill & Andrew have such an awesome spot for families-- the swimming off the dock is perfect for the kids (and adults!) with a sandy bottom and crystal clear water. They provide so many extras-- kayaks, tubes, fire pit, gas grill, games for the kids, air mattresses, and even a guacamole bowl (which we loved!) Also the Instax camera was a wonderful touch. We were able to take some mementos with us! The views of the lake are outstanding. The beds were comfortable. We loved being a bit removed from all the hustle and bustle of the town of Lake George. Walmart was conveniently close by to do some grocery shopping for the week. We also found a great local butcher. You MUST try the pies from the little farmers market across from The Wind Chill Factory-- they were amazing (peach praline was to die for). We rented a boat on two different days from the local Marina--which was also wonderful. The "dads" drove to pick up the boat and left moms and kids at home (so we didnt have to wait with 4 little ones while they signed paperwork) and they were able to come pick us up right at the house--fantastic. On Wednesday nights the park in the next town over has live music-- we decided to take the 15 minute drive and check it out. So glad we did! You will not be disappointed with your stay here. Andrew & Jill are very quick to respond if you have a question. We definitely look forward to a return trip in the future. Thanks again for a memorable friendcation!

  • Andrew and Jill's lake house was such a beautiful slice of heaven. The house was so clean and comfortable and had everything you could possibly need. Heading outdoors, from the kayaks, tubes, fishing rods, hammock, fire pit, grill, and of course the corn hole game which we all had such a fun time playing, we can't think of anything that was missing. Our girls were catching fish left and right and just having so much fun! The views were breathtaking and the lake was so clean and warm. Our girls were in it every single day. We had such beautiful weather all week! The location of their lake house was quiet and the neighbors were so friendly. We ventured out to Lake Luzerne to horseback ride on a trail, Lake Shroon for dinner and Lake George Village for some shopping and it was all just far enough away. It was so hard to leave. Make sure you take tons of pictures not just with your phones, but also with the Intex camera they keep for use in the house, because you will want to keep the memory of your vacation at their lake house alive!!

Your booking includes two adjoining guest rooms each with a full-size beds with Sonno Mattresses fitted with organic sheets sharing a private bath with tub and luxury bath products. One of the guest rooms has an additional "teacher's bed" which is perfect for a child or an adult 5'2" and under. There is another twin futon available that can be set up as well.
Ideal for a couples, family or friends traveling together. The booking includes two rooms, one with a full size bed and the other with a full size bed and a "teacher's bed" which can serve as a day bed or a comfortable bed for a traveling companion of any age under 5' 2".
While we are 10 miles from Middlebury, VT, we are quite rural. There are no shops here. But our neighborhood offers delightful rambles and strolls and we make decent coffee. You will see cows and goats and chickens and perhaps foxes, deer, and partridge.
  • We stayed for one night at Twig Farm in February. Emily was communicative and accommodating when we weren't sure at what time we would be able to check in. The farm is beautiful as is the house we stayed in. When we first got there Emily, her son, and Betty (a very cute dog) led us on a walk and showed us some great views. The bed was super comfortable and it was lovely to wake up and eat fresh waffles before saying good bye to the goats! I highly recommend that you stay here if you can!

  • Twig Farm offers a unique opportunity to enjoy Vermont country living at its best. Emily is very welcoming, and her entire family will put you at ease during your stay. Their location is close to Middlebury, but remote enough to make you feel there is nothing else but farms for miles. Their flock of goats will greet you and their ducks will contribute eggs to your breakfasts. The rooms are airy and light, with the most comfortable linens. The bathroom is spotless, and features lovely towels, and a delightful shower/tub. Their home is decorated with beautiful pieces of numbered art, many full bookshelves, and features an incredible music room. You will most likely get to hear Emily practicing her violin. Everything about Twig Farm is authentic, delightfully simple, restful and esthetically pleasing. We cannot wait to go back!

  • My friend and I had a wonderful stay at Twig Farm. Emily and her family were gracious hosts with a beautiful home. At the same time, theirs is a working goat farm that makes gourmet caliber goat cheese--we learned a lot during our visit. Breakfast was first rate: home baked bread, fresh duck eggs (from the resident ducks), and delicious goat cheese. They live in a lovely setting which afforded us satisfying, long walks on country roads.

  • The host canceled this reservation the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    Sally2017-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Emily and her family were fantastic hosts. We appreciated the quiet, secluded space. Our kids (6 and 3) loved the goats and Legos--that's a winning combination. A fantastic place to stay!

    Garrett2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Emily and her family were wonderful hosts. They made us feel like guests in their house rather than customers. We really appreciated the energy they put into our breakfast (duck eggs from the farm! Wow), and playing chamber music with Emily was a lot of fun. Besides the openness and generosity of our hosts, here are the other little things that made our stay: the Hillary cross-stitch pillow, the goat mosaic on the bathroom floor, a friendly dog named Betty, and an outside cat that gave us the most loving send off we could have asked for. If you're on Airbnb looking for a place to stay with personality and warmth, Twig Farm is definitely the a good choice.

    Julia2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Emily, Micheal and their son Carter were excellent hosts. The Twig Farm is beautiful and very well kept. The rooms are spacious as is the bathroom and perfectly clean. The eclectic feel and artwork combined with the friendliness of the hosts made for an excellent stay.

  • Emily and her family are lovely hosts. They were so thoughtful, considerate, and generous with their time and everything else. They were accommodating of our later check-in time (at first we told her 7 and then changed it to 9:30pm) and made us a lovely breakfast of waffles and cherries in the morning! In addition, they gave us a private tour of their beautiful goat farm and cheese-making facilities. In addition, their house is beautiful and spacious; the pictures really don't do it justice. Everything is clean and well taken care of. I cannot recommend Emily and her home enough!

My place has lake access, is close to restaurants, historic sights, outdoor and family-friendly activities. You’ll love my home because of the great views, the outdoors space, the neighborhood, the comfy beds, and the kitchen. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families.
Full kitchen and dining area with lake views. A screened porch which is ideal for relaxing with a cup of coffee in the morning, a good book in the afternoon, or your favorite drink in the evening. Lake access, outdoor dining, covered patio, both sunny and shaded areas for lounging outside, and a canoe available for your use. Near good restaurants, historic sightseeing and interesting Vermont locations The house is very private and is close to everything if you understand country life, but far away if you are from the city. The lake is great for swimming, floating, fishing, kayaking, canoeing and using a water board. The area around my house is wade-able, you can walk out 15-20 before it gets over 5 feet deep. Bring water shoes, there are rocks and shells in the water. Great fishing...Fishing boats may have Electric trolling motors only (up to 5 -10 horsepower). The lake is 43 feet at the deepest point. There is a walking/jogging trail around the lake. It is primarily made up of dirt roads with a short path in the woods. There is a wooded area next door to the house, set aside as a state nature preserve, it is great for bird watching. There is a guest book in the house with more details about the house and things to do in the area. The house is ideal for guest with limited mobility, it has ramp access to the house and everything you need on the main level (good for walkers and canes, yet is not fully wheelchair accessible). Send me your questions .

  • The chalet was lovely, a beautiful view of Lake Beebe with direct access. We found all the people we met and interacted with to be pleasant and helpful. We loved our experience in Hubbardton.

  • Chalet Felicite was absolutely amazing! Sitting on the porch watching the sunrise and the sunset was perfect. The views, peacefulness and overall beauty will make you want to return. This house is great for a lake vacation with family and/or friends. It is off of a main road, but tucked away far enough where you can enjoy listening to the birds while staring out on the lake. We all took turns taking the canoe out which is a must-do! Planning our trip with Andrea was easy and fast. She was incredibly responsive and helpful with all of our questions. I am already looking at my calendar to see when we can return.

  • Andrea's house was perfect for a weekend getaway. Awesome lake view, clean house with nice amenities, and comfortable decor and furniture. Easy and quick communication, no problems at all. Great hiking in the area, stores are a bit of a drive but that's expected in this part of VT. Would definitely recommend it for a relaxing time.

    Ryan2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a relaxing week at Andrea's place. It is a beautiful home in a gorgeous location. Whether looking for swimming, fishing, canoeing, hiking or quietly reading while listening to the nearby birds, this is an ideal location. We hope to return and have already recommended this place to friends.

  • We had a wonderful stay in the Chalet Felicite! The lake was so peaceful and calming. The home was beautifully decorated and clean. The outdoor space was perfect with a screened in porch and perfect little dock where the kids caught fish with nets. We had 2 families with 3 children under 10 and an infant and there was plenty of place for all of us. We did have issues with the well running low but it didn't matter much as we had such a great time. We wished there was a fire pit though! Would definitely stay again. Caught some big fish too! Thanks Andrea.

    Victoria2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea's place is gorgeous and so comfortable. Lake views unbeatable. A bit far from town (Rutland is approx 30 min) but that's a big plus for those looking for a secluded getaway.

    Elizabeth2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely four-day weekend at this lake house in August. The pictures didn't do the space justice- it was comfortable and super clean and the lake was just lovely with easy access and enough of a "beach" that kids had an easy time getting into/out of the water. One of the better places that we have stayed with lake access and plenty of bedrooms.
