  • This was the perfect peaceful stop on my long road trip from TX to NYC. The room is cozy and clean and the balconies are perfection!!!

  • Perfect little space! The room is so cozy and warm. Decorations are very thoughtful (i.e. reading lamps on both sides of the bed) and the place is adorable. Jakob and Maria were amazing hosts, very quick to respond to any questions we had and extremely accomodating! Would definitely recommend!

  • Lisa and Michelle (and Jakub & Maria!) What a beautiful weekend at your little sanctuary! It was the perfect spot for me and my husband to unplug. The room was cozy and well appointed with everything we needed. We are huge fans of rustic modern design, so your spot was right up our alley! The view outside of the window was also heavenly. It was not as "tucked away" as we expected, but the residential area it was in was lovely. The location was just a short (under 10 minutes almost everywhere!) drive to downtown, the River Arts District, and other great spots in West Asheville. Lisa and Michelle were very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Great hosts! Thanks again!

  • Had a wonderful stay in this very cool and serene space. Would definitely return! Thanks Maria.

  • Perfect cozy place within walking distance to some excellent stores and restaurants.

  • Our "treehouse" made our trip to Asheville so special and unique! The lovely urban forest that the home is tucked in made for such a peaceful setting. And yet we were a quick bike ride away from the West Asheville strip. Upon our arrival, Jakub and Maria were outside enjoying the day with their kids. They were friendly and kind to greet us, but otherwise we had complete privacy. The apartment itself is stocked with charming kitchen items and we even managed to cook breakfast one morning on the hot plate. We will come back if we visit Asheville again!

    Dana2016-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I really enjoyed our stay! The apartment is absolutely adorable! We loved the views from the big window. Just what we needed for a quiet get away!

  • This was a great little place to stay in West Asheville, and we would definitely stay here again. It is in an eclectic neighborhood about a mile outside of downtown West Asheville - and an easy drive to town. The space was very clean and comfortable and beautiful looking out into the woods. Jakub and Maria were welcoming and available. Great experience for our first time trying out Airbnb!

  • Heather was a very friendly and helpful host. The location is lovely, in a quiet, residential area with beautiful natural surroundings. I felt very safe there, and the place was very clean and well-appointed. I'd definitely return!

  • We really enjoyed both the town and the studio. Everything was as described and the host was very accommodating! We used her recommendations for food multiple times and we're not disappointed.

  • Heather's place was awesome! It was cozy and very clean. It has a private entrance so you can come and go as you please. Heather responded very quickly to my messages. Looking forward to staying here in the future!

  • This home was everything we were looking for. Just outside of Asheville, it gave us the private retreat we were looking for, but just 15 minutes away from town. Heather and Lee were very communicative and beyond helpful...they gave great, personalized recommendations which I would highly suggest taking them up on if you stay here.

    Melissa 2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful experience. Very quiet and comfortable. Great place for a little getaway. Will hopefully come back in the future!!!

  • Heather went above and beyond! Not only was the space cozy and quiet, she had gifts and a card waiting for us upon our arrival. All the amenities necessary were provided, and she even had a detailed binder full of recommendations for things to do in town. We enjoyed all the eateries, hiking, and sight seeing suggestions thoroughly! Long story short, the Treehouse Studio was phenomenal!!!:)

    Evan2016-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful home! We loved playing in the river, soaking in the tub, and cuddling up on the couch and watching Netflix after a long day of hiking! I highly recommend staying at The Treehouse.

sanc·tu·ar·y a place of refuge or safety: oasis, retreat, hideaway I am Serenity, your Sanctuary in the trees. How did I come to be on the mountain top with the most beautiful of views? It began with a vision of peace and nature. My support was selected & I was carefully constructed. I am not your routine or reality, rather your childhood fantasy. I am a shift in your perception. When you stay in my branches, you sway with the wind. Come hideaway. Come relax. You are safe with me.
**In the Press** Featured video by HGTV and the Travel Channel with over 7 million views- August, 2017 Travel Daily News International and The Huffington Post- March, 2017 **About The Treehouse** An amazing NEW treehouse located within 10 minutes to the heart of downtown Asheville. To our knowledge, this is the first North Carolina treehouse supported solely by the trees with a Certificate of Occupancy, meaning built to code. Indoor and outdoor seating allow for perfect south & west facing views. Sanctuary's main floor consists of a beautiful living area, kitchen, bathroom with stand-up shower and rain head. The second floor ‘love nest’ boasts a full-size loft bed and Juliet balcony with outdoor seating and mountain views. Designed ideally for 2 adults, there is a smaller futon in the living area that pulls out to sleep 1 adult or 2 young children. The house was featured on the television show, The Treehouse Guys, and is adorned with antiques and eclectic furnishings, hardwood floors, comfortable linens, Heat/AC, wall mounted flat screen TV with Netflix and Amazon Fire, Bluetooth speaker for music, WIFI internet access, locally roasted coffee, local honey, tea, olive oil, salt and pepper, light snacks, pots and pans, microwave, toaster, full size fridge with filtered water pitcher, 2 burner electric cook top, outdoor electric grill, and everything else you need for a perfect getaway. Located in the living area is important information regarding your stay along with local recommendations, maps, entertainment and adventure references. There is a fire pit on-site and we ask that you use it cautiously. ***Planning to pop the question during your stay?? We provide the dreamiest location. Please inquire about our Summit Proposal Package upon booking***
Sanctuary is located on Private and Gated Property atop Baird Mountain, only a few minutes off I-26 and approximately 10 minutes north of downtown.
  • Beautiful property with a far away from everything feel but your still not too far from Ingles and a few restaurants. We can't wait to come back but next time for longer stay than 1 night.

Being at the top of mountain provides amazing views. There's not much else up there yet so it's really peaceful as well.

The best of both worlds! Quiet, secluded country cottage only six minutes from downtown Asheville. Sip your morning coffee on a private brick patio surrounded by large trees and singing birds. Enjoy easy access to West Asheville's restaurant scene. If you'd rather have your own private porch and deck with great views of the surrounding trees, check out our upstairs unit. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1950593 Please read the HOUSE RULES before booking. Most importantly, we only have parking for ONE CAR per unit, and only allow two people maximum per unit, no exceptions! (If you have an extra car you'll have to leave it in a parking garage downtown.) This private apartment is the ground floor of our our cozy gated home at the end of one lane gravel road. We live in the little house in the backyard. In front of our house is the Crown Plaza golf course and mountain bike trail. The apartment is fully furnished, including a fully equipped kitchen with a full fridge, microwave, four-burner stove & oven, a coffee maker, a toaster and a blender (perfect for breakfast smoothies!) It includes Wireless Internet, off street parking for one car, complimentary coffee and tea. All linens and towels provided. We also provide shower gel, shampoo and hair conditioner so you don't have to pack these bulky items! Electric heating with two separate thermostats keeps the apartment at an optimum comfortable temperature. A window air conditioner unit is provided in the summer months. The bathroom has a custom-tiled double shower with glass doors, underfloor heating (great for keeping your toes warm!) and plenty of storage for your toiletries. The apartment is not suitable for children as it is not childproofed. The bed is a queen size. We are surrounded by trees and wild spaces, which makes it perfect for the wildlife that live here. We have raccoons, opossums, red foxes, woodchucks, chipmunks, squirrels and the occasional coyote. Our bird-friendly yard is home to over 20 different species of birds including a resident pair of red-shouldered hawks and a screech owl family. Our house is only 45 minutes away from the Cataloochee valley in the Smoky Mountains National Park. The valley is known for its elk and black bear population. The east side of the Smokies is great as it is less touristy than further west. It is a great place for a day trip! Enjoy the benefits of living close to Downtown and recharge your batteries in our tranquil home.
  • Cozy home conveniently located close to downtown Asheville!

    Vivian2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Christina and Hal were very helpful, their space was beautiful and private, and I loved feeling like I was far away from everything, yet close to both downtown and West Asheville.

    Cara2015-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is beautiful, a great size, VERY clean, and feels as though it has just been remodeled. It was also very quiet and felt private. The shower is large, which is great! I also love the photography that I believe was taken by the hosts.

  • On a last minute whim I decided to see what was available on airbnb for a business trip. Found this great space and Cristina quickly confirmed my stay. It was perfect! Everything is pristine and beautiful including Hal and Cristina's photographs. Loved it.

    Michelle2014-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first trip to Asheville and this was a wonderful place to stay for our visit. It is a very well done apartment that made our stay comfortable and relaxing. Hal was very warm and welcoming, and we definitely recommend this for those looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay in Asheville.

    Chad2015-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Cristina and Hal's cottage! It was incredibly sweet, beautifully detailed and furnished, immaculately kept, extremely comfortable, and in a stunning, peaceful location. The cottage is at the end of a dirt road, and offered the perfect mix of country feel (their yard is lovely and the only sounds you hear are the birds), but being just minutes from west asheville and less than 10 minutes to bustling downtown asheville. their wildlife photography throughout the cottage was stunning and they were genuinely nice, thoughtful, friendly and helpful--both in our e-chats before arrival and throughout our stay. and...they were thoughtful enough to make sure that we knew that it was daylight savings time the night before our super early flight (we did NOT know!), and then lent us an alarm to use when we worried that our mobile devices might not update automatically. saved us from missing our flight! we would absolutely stay in their cottage on future trips and will recommend it to anyone we know heading to asheville.

    susan2015-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful 5 day stay at Hal & Cristina's lovely cottage! They have taken great care to create a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing space. The cottage was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, cozy, warm, comfortable, and close to everything in Asheville. Hal & Cristina were gracious and welcoming hosts, making sure I had everything I needed and offering helpful advice on the area. The reservation process was a breeze, and they were in communication about everything I needed to know prior to my visit. I especially enjoyed the well stocked kitchen, the lovely bathroom (with heated floors!), the cozy living room, and the lovely peaceful setting surrounded by trees at the end of a gravel road. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it as a wonderful home base during your stay in Asheville.

    Rebecca2015-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Hal and Cristina's was absolutely fantastic! When we arrived, Cristina was there to greet us, show us around and to offer a load of vegetarian places for us to eat and "less tourist-y" places to hike (two of our favorite things!) Out of the three places we stayed while on our Asheville vaca, Hal and Cristina's was our favorite. The space is a lot bigger than the photos look and everything was so clean and tidy (I don't think I've ever stayed somewhere on vacation that I felt was so clean!) Their wildlife photography hangs throughout the apartment, which makes it feel very homey. The full sized fridge and washer/dryer were VERY convenient! We actually thought the location was perfect (not sure the 4 1/2 star rating on this). While I wouldn't walk there, It's literally 2-3 turns to get down to Wall Street/Battery Park where much of the action happens in Asheville. Thank you for a great stay! - Kayla & Matt

  • Communication with David & Melissa was fast and they even checked to make sure we arrived safely. The Urban Oasis was exactly as pictured and very nice. The bed was comfortable, but very squeaky whenever myself or my husband would move while we were sleeping. While the Urban Oasis is itself very nice (clean, modern, and great A/C), it's too bad the residents living above this basement apartment don't keep the front of the house picked up.

    Amy2015-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first AirBnB experience and David & Melissa set the bar very high! It was a wonderful stay and David & Melissa were super helpful, responsive, and friendly!! The location was great and the layout and space of the Urban Oasis was fantastic!! I had my dog with me and he loved having his own little spot in the backyard to run off some energy. I will be looking to stay here again on any return to Asheville! Thanks for a great few days!!

    Mike2015-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second time staying at David and Melissa's place and it was just as enjoyable as last time.

    Pat2017-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely, private little apartment that was super convenient to the expressway, and only minutes from downtown Asheville. The hot tub was wonderful, and even though the home was close to the expressway, it was quite peaceful with lovely trees for a view. The space was well-furnished and comfortable, with a crisp, clean aesthetic. If you have mobility issues, please note that a flight of stairs leads down to the apartment. Also, you may wish to bring a robe since the windows in the main living space (which face the private backyard that is screened by greenery) are uncovered. My husband and I were very pleased with our stay, and would happily stay again :)

    Erin2015-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at the Urban Oasis! The space was immaculate, very lovely, and had lots of room for the two of us! We especially loved and made use of the hot tub during our stay. The location was PERFECT- by far the most convenient place we've stayed in Asheville. We were right near all our favorite spots to eat, grab coffee, and meander around. In love with this spot. We hope to return soon!

    Allison2016-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • David and Melissa's "Urban Oasis" is a great getaway for two, a great value for the money in a location that puts much of "to-do" Asheville at your fingertips. The accommodations are very comfortable, well appointed and private, complete with a private deck and hot-tub, which we used nightly. As hosts, David and Melissa are warm, responsive and communicative. We will visit again!

    melanie2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Close to everything. David and Melissa were quick to respond to our questions. This was my second time here, will be back! The hot tub is a great perk!!

    Cecile2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Urban Oasis was a fantastic place to stay. Very clean and pretty inside. Close to downtown and everything else we did in Asheville. The hot tub each night was a great thing to do and to enjoy looking out over the woods. I highly recommend it and would most definitely like to stay there again!

Quiet country life in a private community, just minutes from downtown Asheville. We have a small herd of sweet, friendly miniature goats which would love your attention. We often have kids (baby goats) too. Come for the fabulous hiking, the award winning restaurants, and a little goat therapy too.
Contemporary studio apartment, suitable for one person or a couple (one double bed). Living room with flat-screen TV (DVD player and Roku) and wireless internet provided, bedroom area with double bed (all linens provided), fully stocked kitchen large dorm size refrigerator and separate small freezer, bathroom with shower. 7 miles or 10 minutes from downtown Asheville in east Asheville. 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and awesome hiking spots. We are situated in a 3-home private eco-community in the mountains right outside the city (Asheville). We have small dairy goats, vegetable gardens and live a quiet sustainable country life with Asheville's nightlife, restaurants, theaters, and fantastic hiking only a short 10 minute drive away. If this sounds like a place you would enjoy, please contact me after checking calendar for available dates. Studio apartment is very private with separate parking and private patio overlooking trees, goats pastures, and cow pastures. We are in the country outside Asheville (but only 7 miles)-- buses don't run out here so it's important to have your own transportation. We don't use cable TV anymore but have endless entertainment on Roku-- we have subscriptions for Netflix and HuluPlus and Amazon Video for both movies and TV shows. IMPORTANT: We have a lovely sweet labrador retriever, who is a rambunctious and super friendly 7 year old, and two cats. If you are afraid of dogs or don't like them, you should probably consider something else. Animals are NOT permitted in the studio apartment. Also, the goat area is fenced in with high voltage electric wire to keep predators out. Inside the goats pen, feel free to play with the goats! They are very friendly.
  • We had a wonderful stay with Julia in her Eco-cottage. The studio unit is tastefully decorated and very functional. The day we arrived we got to meet her beautiful baby goats and sweet lab Milo which made our visit even more special. Although we only stayed for 2 nights, we felt very welcome and comfortable. We will definitely stay with Julia again for our next Asheville visit!

    Michelle2014-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place is an absolutely dream! Julia was extremely friendly and inviting and her dog, Milo, is just adorable. We were able to bring our own dog along and they had a great time playing. The studio is perfect and has just about everything you could possibly need. As others have mentioned, the bed is unbelievably comfortable and the entire studio is decorated wonderfully. The 10 minute drive to downtown is simple and no problem at all. Julia added a lot of wonderful touches such as leaving maps of her favorite hiking trails, having a stocked kitchen, etc. We had a fantastic time staying here while we explored Asheville and the Blue Ridge Mountains. We will more than likely be booking this place again in the future, it's just perfect! :)

    Emily2013-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • I loved the secluded yet accessible location. The cottage was comfortable, clean, and seemed well equipped with anything you'd need for either a short or longer stay. Julia was great at communicating with us, accommodating our changed travel plans, and seemed unfazed by our very, very late arrival. (Lesson learned: road tripping in January is on Mother Nature's terms, not your own!) I have every intention of returning to the Asheville area for a longer stay when the weather is warmer, and I'd definitely like to stay at the eco-cottage again.

    Christine2014-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much!!!

  • Julia was great and the apartment was perfect for the two of us. Julia was so welcoming and helped us out with a lot of recommendations and advice for our trip. The home is just far enough outside of town to feel quiet and secluded, but close enough for a quick drive into downtown. We had an amazing time!

    Olivia2016-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Julia's studio! The decor was impressive, the views stunning, the bed was cozy, and it made yet another visit to Asheville so wonderful. She is closer to town compared to other places we have stayed, and would definately stay there again! Julia is also a very friendly hostess who gave us a tour of her unique greenhouse - you'll have to see for yourself!

    Kim2011-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Small and cozy, Julia's cottage was perfect for my husband and I to visit during a moving transition to Asheville. Julia is friendly, warm, and inviting. The apartment is clean, private, and well-planned. You can save money by cooking, and there's a full sized fridge to keep your things. There are spices there so you don't have to get all new things. Truly, Julia has created a perfect little retreat.

SparkleBark Farm offers our guest cabin to those who want the comfort of a bed while enjoying the same breezes, wild flowers, fireflies, and early morning mist that you'd have while camping. Just a 15 minute drive away from downtown Asheville, NC.
Sparklebark Farm is a small-scale organic farm and homestead. For the past four years Zac and Bea, the owners, have been collaborating with a revolving cast of incredibly talented friends to make this land a model of sustainability, as well as natural and artistic beauty. We grow a ton of vegetables as well as flowers and keep flocks of free range chickens and ducks. Bea is a fine artist who makes beautiful nature-based drawings (check out her (email hidden)), and Zac is a builder and woodworker who has been pouring his heart into beautifying and constructing buildings and infrastructure at Sparklebark. Our vision is to continue to steward and beautify the land through agriculture as well as art, we are so excited to share this little slice of paradise!
Our neighborhood is the nearby mountain range. We live on seven acres of land, and rarely see or hear our neighbors. Sometimes if the wind is blowing the right way, you can hear the laughter of the children who live on the other side of the valley. We enjoy the rural setting but can be at any location in Asheville in under 15 minutes and on the blue ridge parkway or deep in the woods in 20!
  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Sparklebark for 3 days, and we absolutely loved it. Our room was clean, beautiful, and comfortable. We had an amazing view of the mountains - it was kind of surreal watching the sun rise over them every morning. There was an issue with the hot water heater while we were there, but it wasn't a major inconvenience, as Zac and Beatriz let us use another outdoor shower that was closer to their house. Zac and Beatriz were friendly and accommodating; they also gave us great recommendations for things to do around Asheville. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience. We would definitely stay here again if we ever got the chance.

    Hannah2017-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts Zac and Beatriz were extremely nice people; my girlfriend and I were very happy to have met them. They made us feel very welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. My only regret was not staying there for a longer time! Everything about their description was accurate and was better than we could have expected; and it was in a very nice and pleasant location. I have nothing but good things to say about the experience we had during our stay as well as the hosts themselves and my girlfriend and I will definitely be returning as soon as possible!

    Daniel2016-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing farm, great location, and friendly host. Couldn't recommend more! You can tell they love the farm and put effort into making your stay enjoyable. Perfect for hiking and visiting the Blue Ridge Parkway. Good food and stuff to do in the nearby town. Loved it all! Thank you Sparklebark!

    Dillon2017-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, our 2 year old, and myself had a wonderful time at Sparkle Bark! We had the comforts of home in the cabin, all while feeling and smelling the fall mountain air. Our daughter loved greeting the chickens and ducks every morning, and the folks around on the farm were all super welcoming to us. The hot outdoor shower might have been our favorite part! The farm is in a great proximity to all of the stuff we wanted to do in Asheville, too. We have already been referring our friends!

  • I felt right at home in this lovely special space. THe hosts were warm and inviting and considerate of my needs. It was exactly what I had hoped to find.

  • Our trip was an impromptu stop coming back to NC from a music festival in TN! Wow was it great and just what we needed to unplug, recharge, & sleep in nature with the crickets chirping! We loved EVERYTHING & will definitely go back! Hosts also had great local recommendations.

  • This place measures up to what you see here. We came up for a wedding and didn't want to stay in a commercialized hotel. Staying in the screened cabin was an excellent choice. It was very clean and personalized in all ways magical. If you are a germaphobe, do not fear! The compost bathroom was clean and eco-friendly. I loved showering outside with the sounds of nature. Zac and Beatriz were so friendly and had such positive energy to share with us. We will totally be back again.

    Belinda2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Zac and Beatriz were wonderful hosts, welcoming us upon arrival and perfectly preparing our relaxing bedroom in the trees. There were many thoughtful details in design and furnishing in all parts of the property with ingenious, artistic re-purposing of found objects which enhanced our stay. One night was a little chilly, but were cozy-warm with the heated mattress cover and down comforter. Now that we have returned home, we miss the beautiful views. Lovely stay, we hope to be back again.

  • My fiancé and I enjoyed our stay at the urban oasis. The space was as described, and included every necessity we needed to enjoy our long weekend. The location was ideal: the neighborhood was quiet, the house was easy to access from the highway, and downtown Asheville was only a short drive away.

Built in 2010, Waterfall Cottage provides a romantic, comfortable, rustic retreat space in the woods perched just above a magical flowing mountain stream. Drive only 15 minutes into Asheville, 7 to 10 minutes from hiking, restaurants, and grocery shopping.
Our beloved Waterfall Cottage is perfect for an individual or couple who wish to experience the best of both worlds, the peaceful zen of the woods with two mountain streams which come together on our property as well as being within 15 minutes driving distance to both downtown Asheville and Black Mountain (where you will find great abundance of amazing restaurants, shopping, nightlife and other attractions). The cottage contains a queen size bed. There is also a small living space with a futon plus table/chairs for 2 people, full bathroom (from which you have a view of our small waterfall), and a cozy galley kitchen (for simple food preparation). Your own private back deck also overlooks the water. The cottage is located on one acre of land in the Buckeye Cove Community of Swannanoa (between Asheville and Black Mountain). The "main house", where my husband Jason and I live, sits about 50 feet from Waterfall Cottage. If you like, you may also meander along the woodland path which we created along the perimeter of the property. We are eager to share our little piece of paradise with likehearted souls! NOTE: Many guests at Waterfall Cottage are not able to get a signal on their cellphone. Usually driving a short distance out of our cove will restore your cellphone signal. We have Wifi on the property, however guests' ability to connect to it is not guaranteed. Devices such as tablets and laptops seem to connect better than cellphones. Also provided: -Sheets/Towels -TV with Roku including Netflix -Air conditioning/Heat -Refrigerator -Coffee maker(fresh local coffee and tea provided) -Toaster oven and Microwave oven -Blender -Two electric NuWave brand burners for cooking -Basic cookware/cooking utensils -Flatware service for 4 people, glasses, mugs, etc. -Standard staples such as dishsoap, handsoap, cooking oil, sugar/honey, salt/pepper. Jason and I have been practicing massage therapists in the Asheville area since 2001. For an additional charge, you can also book a single or couples massage with us for during your visit. Massage sessions will take place on-site in Waterfall Cottage. Massage therapy rates are: $75 per 70-minute session ($150 for couples massage) $100 per 90-minute session ($200 for couples massage) (We prefer that massage sessions are scheduled ahead of time before your arrival if possible.)
  • Liz was absolutely wonderful! She was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin and property is beautiful. I enjoyed sleeping with the window open so that we could hear the creek. It was so relaxing and exactly what I was looking for. The bed is very comfortable! Uber will also pick you up and it's less than $20 to get downtown. I will definitely plan my next Asheville trip around this place being available!!!

  • After swooning over the photos, I excitedly booked The Waterfall Cottage as the last stop on a four-day, nature-based road trip my mother and I made (and somehow survived). We couldn't have asked for a sweeter way to end the trip, our time there was an absolute highlight! The cottage is gorgeous, spit-spot, bright, fresh, and despite being close to practically anything you could possibly need- it feels tucked away in a magical, otherworldly land. We loved exploring the mossy covered paths through the creeks- just steps below the cottage, and inhaling deeply as we walked the perimeter of the property, with Liz's trusty guardcat, Liam. Liz was beyond accommodating, so kind and down to earth, and made navigating Swannanoa seem like a breeze with her much-needed handwritten directions. Take her up on her dinner recommendation to Native Kitchen & Social Pub, especially if you're traveling with your mother- two words: sake cocktails. The Waterfall Cottage was exactly what my spirit needed, and I'm already missing the sound of streams and the cool air. I hope my path leads to Swannanoa again, because this spot is well worth another visit!

  • We had a wonderful time at the Waterfall Cottage. The cottage itself was nice and cozy and the setting was superlative--romantic and relaxing. The location is convenient to Asheville but far enough to give you a peaceful retreat at the end of the day. Liz was out of town, but her house-sitting friend welcomed us, and everything went seamlessly. This is the place to stay if you are visiting Asheville.

  • Located down a gravel road, in a beautiful woodland setting, this cabin is a mere 25 minutes drive from downtown Asheville. This location provides the perfect blend of convenience, and peace and quiet. The pictures do not do justice to this lovely cabin! It is positively charming. The minute you walk in you are enveloped by the warm, comforting scent of the Douglass Fir lined walls. Lending a sense of openness to this cozy space are several windows that allow for ample sunlight. The sounds of the multiple miniature waterfalls in the back yard provide the perfect level of white noise to soothe even the most frazzled of nerves. The bed, decked out in soft flannel sheets, will cradle you with just the right balance of cushion and support for one of the best nights of sleep you'll ever have!

    Jamie2015-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • This lovely streamside is just as magical as the pictures suggest. A perfect retreat, cozy during night's chill and the sound of the waterfall during the day with doors open. A well equipped little kitchen is good for bringing in your own food. Liz couldn't have been more gracious!

    Selby2015-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • The description of this beautiful cottage was great. I would only say that it didn't quite say enough about how fantastic it was. What a beautiful setting. Peaceful and relaxing. The sound of the bubbling stream drifted everywhere with little pathways inviting meditative walks. We had more things planned to do around Asheville but I canceled them so I could get back to this little piece of heaven earlier.

    Clinton2014-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Liz was absolutely warm and inviting. My boyfriend and I checked in at 2 and wandered around the woods for a while before heading out to dinner. Their property is not very big, but it is beautiful. There are several little cascades that fill the air with constant sounds of waterfalls. Dinner at Native Kitchen (their suggestion) was wonderful as that restaurant has a rotating weekly menu prepared with local ingredients. We got back to the cottage in the evening and took advantage of their campfire, relaxing to the sounds of both a crackling fire and cascading water. The next morning we took an AM stroll to be greeted by wild turkeys grazing in a nearby field! All in all, the hosts are super friendly, the cottage is really nice, the bed slept very well, and we didn't have to check out until 12. This was our first time using AirBnB and we could not have asked for a more perfect time.

    Joanna2015-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The waterfall cottage is the perfect balance between being amongst nature and feeling close to activity. The hosts were very friendly and respectable of privacy. They offered great suggestions for outdoor hiking while providing amenities in the cabin that made it easy to relax in (especially cozy when a storm with spectacular thunder rolled through). As a young couple, it was a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend to others.

The proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway and all the hiking trails make this neighborhood special!
  • So pretty! Definitely worth the trip for a romantic get away

  • Gorgeous cabin. Went up for my birthday - and this place was such a treat. read the Blue Binder Manual which is very carefully put together by Haley, it surely helps with navigating the neighborhood! Outdoor shower during the day is a wonderful experience. Thanks for putting together such a gem- it deserves a magazine write-up!

    Andrea Nichole2017-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Haley's cabin is simply outstanding - it was easily our favourite experience of the whole road trip. Despite getting lost trying to find the cabin up the mountain (we arrived after dark), it turned into a fun adventure, and was well worth the views the next morning. We loved being off the grid, even for just a short period of time. The fully-opening garage door and the outdoor shower are simply amazing. Wouldn't hesitate to return if we are in the area again.

    Nooreen2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is absolutely amazing! So cute and comfortable and the views are beautiful. We loved every minute of it and so did our puppy! Will definitely be back.

    Calle2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Perfection. In so many ways. You have this off the grid small cabin, with gorgeous views, rain or shine, luxurious comforts like great bedding, with the simplicity and pureness of being on top of a mountain and sleeping to rain on a tin roof or coyotes howling in the night. If you wake up in time, you can catch the sunrise from the porch, or hop in your car for 10 min drive up the road for the best sunrise views on the parkway. This is also more than glamping. I was there during 3 days of torrential downpours, and that little cabin is so sturdy I never once felt like I needed to dry out or that it was going to cave in. Haley has thought of everything, there are so many wonderful little touches, and the epic view from the outhouse belongs in that book of awesome outhouses :) (also, how she managed to create an outhouse that doesn't feel stinky or gross is beyond me, but she did it!) Also, as a single female up there I felt completely safe. I know it's a great little romantic getaway for a couple, but it's also perfect for a solo retreat! Just don't forget it's cooler up there than down the mountain!

  • We loved this place ! The location , ease to hiking , and the incredible views especially in the mornings . Every detail was thought about yet done simply to just the necessities. Haley and Jason were very responsive to any questions and offered great places to visit . It was so relaxing and exactly what we needed for a weekend getaway .

    Rebecca & Sam 2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I did a 40 mile section on the AT then stayed in this cabin. It was the perfect upgrade from tent camping all week on the trail. Getting up to the cabin was a little confusing, but we got it figured out. It was SO worth driving straight UP a mountain for. The cabin is teeny, but the view is awesome, the bed is so comfortable, and you have all you need. The outdoor shower was an awesome experience! The location is prime because if you're like us, you want peace and quiet, but don't want to be too far from all the action. Asheville is close by with so many things to experience. Haley took good care of us, making sure we were checked in, had all we needed, and even gave us recommendations on places to eat/drink. This cabin made our trip fantastic! We will come back for sure!

Cozy 8X18' little home. Queen loft with ladder, kitchen sink and utensils, gas stove, small refrigerator, folding table, composting toilet, hot shower, space heater, two fans (no ac). We live next door in our 1920's Log Cabin with 2 goats, 2 alpacas, and 2 cats.

Enchanting fairyland property on ten rolling acres with our renovated 1920's log cabin. There's lovely little streams and springs, with foot bridges and tree swings, massive tree fort, cozy fire pit, and numerous maintained hiking trails with wildflowers galore. • My mother and I had an overall good experience at Rock's Tiny house! It smelled like a brand new house when we first stepped foot inside the house. My favorite part of the house is how bright and homey it felt because of all the windows and the vaulted ceiling. The location was great, and it was easy to find using (Hidden by Airbnb) maps on my iPhone. Rock was a great welcoming host, he would answer our questions and even showed us how to use the composting bathroom. Additionally, I'd advise to anyone staying at this house that the bed is not very comfortable, but it is bearable. If you have a bad back, I wouldn't recommend this place because you won't sleep well. Overall, the tiny house was a great experience for us!

  • Rock's Tiny Homestead was a great experience in our Asheville trip. There was everything we needed in the small space and it was great to actually stay in a tiny house, something my brother and I have wanted to do. Rock has a fantastically unique property, convenient to downtown Asheville, and Rock himself was welcoming and friendly. Thanks so much for a great stay, and I would recommend the Tiny Homestead to fellow travelers!

THIS LISTING HAS MOVED TO A NEW LOCATION, not what map shows, and not the same address listed. No longer on 50 acres -now in an ever better spot at the EDGE OF ASHEVILLE... close to downtown & all that Asheville has to offer! Handcrafted green built Tiny House on Wheels in a prime location at the edge of town... walkable to restaurants, shops, yoga, a lake, and only an 8min drive to downtown -hard to find anything else like it! Propane fireplace, organic sheets, loft bed, coffee, wi-fi.
Yes, it's a whole house under 100q ft! The new location is in an urban lot next to a main house, yet still feels like it's own private space. The Tiny House itself is an amazing little house with unique touches throughout that make it a true one of a kind you'll just have to see for yourself ... with propane fireplace, full bath, sleeping loft, couch/bed, full kitchen, gas stove, closet, and foldable desk. Lots of attention to detail in this green built house, with handmade cutting board countertops, custom stainless shower walls, a whole house water filter system, organic beds, linens, and beautiful reclaimed wood throughout. *There is NO AC in the house (it does not have the electrical capacity), just plenty of windows and fans to cool the house down. If you need AC then I recommend coming during the cooler parts of the year. Sleeping accommodations (please read): You'll need to climb ladder to access the sleeping loft. It's cozy with a cute tiny window to gaze out at the stars, but it is VERY TINY, beware... just enough space to sleep. It fits 2 people if you're comfortable sharing such a small space. There's also a single bed in the living room, which is set up to be used as a couch during the day. No ladder climbing needed! You do need to be under 5'6" tall to fit in the couch bed though... so when I say accommodate 3 (1 of the guests needs to be under 5'6"). Want to bring a 4th guest? No prob, just bring a sleeping pad and sleeping bag for the floor, there's room for one more... as long as you all get along, remember, it's small space. Toilet: One of the nicest compost toilets on the market... no odor whatsoever, and easy to use. It's really not much different from a standard toilet - there's just no need to flush, and the urine goes into a separate hole. Model: Separett Villa, if you want to look it up for more information. Wake in the morning to organic coffee or tea. I also stock the shelves with basic spices and organic food staples, so make yourself at home and enjoy :)
A wonderful urban neighborhood that feels private and cozy while also really close to Asheville happenings... very close to the main Street of Merrimon Ave and the interstate, so easily accessible to just about everything (by bike, bus, car, or on foot).
  • This is going to be my place to stay every time I go to Asheville!! I seriously have never felt so comfortable, safe, and relaxed. When you leave the house just take the main road all the way to the left for a beautiful walk along the park. Rhodes had amazingly amenities such as coffee, tea, WARM showers, speakers, essential oils, etc. I cannot wait to come back!

  • My children and I *loved* staying here. It's tiny, but that is part of the adventure and wonder of it, as it is amazing how well the space is used. The little kitchen is well-stocked with equipment and staples, the shower and bath work well, and the instruction cards throughout are clear and helpful. We liked that there were books about tiny houses in this tiny house, along with some puzzle books and games. Oh, and let's not forget to mention the monkey bars installed in the ceiling--amazing! Oh, and the fresh eggs and the pottery gift: nice touch! We were there in June, and it was kind of warm inside upon arrival in the late afternoon. Cooking also heated the place up a bit, but after a while with all of the windows open and the fans on, it cooled down to a comfortable enough temperature (the windows have screens--though be sure to reseal the velcro edges thoroughly, otherwise, bugs will get in). This place is a real gem, and we look forward to visiting again.

  • In Asheville, I’ve stayed in everything from B&B’s to tents to spas to upper tier chain hotels.....this was by far the best of them all. Rhodes is a super host for a reason! The tiny house had everything I needed, and Rhodes had considered and provided almost everything a reasonable person would want as well. From coffee and cream to games, books, DVD’s and toiletries. The house is amazingly functional without form suffering at all, the obviously considered design elegant and beautiful. The neighborhood was quiet and convenient to downtown by car or Uber. If I get back to Asheville before this house rolls on, it’s where I’ll stay!

  • This is a romantic little spot and Rhodes is a great hostess. Thank you for sharing your tiny home.

    Matthew2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at this tiny house! Rhodes is a great host, and this house will make you think about how much space you actually need.

    Mikey2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Rhodes was super prompt with responses and all the details for getting into the house were easy as. The house its self was so much fun! It's great to have all the games in there to play and it really made you feel like you live there even if its just for the night. Thanks again so much! We loved it!

    Andrea2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house was a perfect stop on our road trip. One of the best highlights.Rhodes was a great host. I hope to stay again sometime.

    Michael & Liz2017-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time and really enjoyed our stay and the amenities Rhodes provides - the tiny home books are fascinating and the games in the tiny home are really fun. We also enjoyed the tea and used the coffee maker daily! The fireplace is a dream! Plus it's very close to downtown - we were never more than 10 minutes driving distance away. We loved it all and would definitely recommend it to others who want a unique place to stay.

  • Norma's place was incredible! Even after booking last minute Norma was incredibly accomidating and we had everything we needed. Having a comfortable place to to sleep while being able to enjoy the gorgeous mountain surroundings was awesome, and it was exactly what we were looking for. The accommodations were beyond expectation and we were extremely pleased with our stay. I would highly recommend staying here if you truly want a memorable rural mountain experience.

  • Very quiet neighborhood. Would highly recommend the apartment to anyone looking to get away for a few days! Thanks Norma!

    Allison2016-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Norma was a very friendly host! Her Airbnb is very clean and it's just the perfect size for 2 people. The location is the best!!!! We will probably stay here again in the spring. Thanks Norma!

    Laura2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • The location is perfect and peaceful. The views are stunning and the space is very accommodating. Highly recommended.

    Eric2016-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Norma gave us great directions and greeted us when we arrived. The studio was spotless and we enjoyed her book collection as well. There were views to the woods and boulders from every single window in the studio and the kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfast and enjoy the patio. She had information in the studio on attractions as well. Norma was responsive whenever we asked for information. Heads up: The check-out time of 10 am is unusual for AirBnB and we've been using it for years but we wanted to get on the road early anyway. We would definitely stay here again and it is near Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain ski areas, and close to Boone and Banner Elk.

Private secluded 11 acre farm in Hominy Valley, a small valley named after the corn crops that were grown by the indigenous population until the late 1600's. The farm is bordered by Beaverdam creek w/native trout. Splendid views. Serenity is our biggest asset. One of the oldest organic farms in the area, with nearly 20 years experience in local food and farmer's markets. We are proud that many of the best local restaurants trust us for their produce. While we are secluded and in a country setting, we are convenient to Asheville, per online maps: 20 minutes to downtown Asheville (Pack Square) or Biltmore Estate; 15 minutes to West Asheville; 8 minutes to grocery store/s+other necessities at corner of Sand Hill and 19/23; 10 minutes to Interstates 40 and 26; 22 minutes to Asheville Regional Airport; 15 minutes of an entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
  • My friend and I stayed in the tree house during December. While chilly, there were plenty of blankets, and the propane heater helped out. We loved staying out there next to the creek. It was very peaceful; there was hardly any ambient noise. It was the best sleep I've had in a while! The farm is great, and all the animals are very friendly, even the cat! I didn't get a chance to meet Chris, but Sidney is wonderful! She was helpful with everything and a great host. We definitely plan to come back!

    Jonathen2015-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at the tree house for one night. The place was clean and the surrounding scenery was beautiful. I couldn't ask for a better place to stay! I hope to come back soon. Also Sydney was really sweet and an excellent host.

    Megan2015-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • First of all, Chris was an awesome host. We arrived after dark and didn't get to meet him when we arrived, but he came to our rescue when we ended up needing to have a tow truck come out to the farm the next morning. He really went above and beyond what is expected of a host to help us get back on the road! The treehouse itself was great as well. We slept well with all the windows open, listening to the creek right outside. It is definitely rustic, but that's part of the charm. We had everything we needed and felt very comfortable.

    Mary2015-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here very briefly on our way through North Carolina. I loved the rustic feel, the vegetable fields, creek and forest. Our host was very welcoming and provided everythiong we needed.

    Aaron2015-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay in the tree house. I really enjoyed the peacefulness.

    Alan2014-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Sidney was quick to respond to our messages on Airbnb and was accommodating and flexible with our arrival time. She greeted us when we arrived at the farm, gave us a general tour of the areas which we would be using and need (the restroom, washer/dryer, kitchen etc). Alex & I are used to farm life and understand that things will not be "perfectly clean" so I would not recommend this listing to anyone who is not willing to get earthy for a few days. I have never felt more relaxed than I did laying in the tree house listening to the creek (which was high since it rained almost our entire stay which actually made the experience that much better). The bed, sheets and pillows were very clean and the room was simple and kind. Sidney made sure to have the best coffee brewed for us in the morning and also kept the kitchen area very clean and organized which made cooking our breakfast/lunch a wonderful and relaxing experience. I really wish the tree house was available for one more night, we definitely would have stayed another evening :)

    Catherine2015-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a great time staying on Chris's farm. The treehouse was cozy and we were checked on multiple times to make sure we didn't need extra wood. It was also nice waking up to a view of the stream in back of the treehouse every morning. It would be great to come back when the weather is a bit warmer!

    Chloe2015-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse was very rustic! Since there wasn't any electricity in the treehouse and a hike to the bathroom, the overall experience reminded me of camping. Exactly what you would expect with bugs, dust and dirt. However, waking up to the sunrise glistening on the creek and birds chirping was quite beautiful. Sidney was great at communicating since the farm is pretty tricky to find. Overall, very equivalent to camping.

  • Caroline's cabin was PERFECT. We were looking for a warm, romantic, quiet cabin to spend the week, and couldn't have dreamed up something better. We were close to enough to grab dinner in Asheville one night and content enough to spend most of our time cooking, enjoying the woodstove, and watching movies. Thanks, Caroline!

    Andrew2013-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is really absolutely delightful. It is quiet, secluded, rustic, adorable. I love the porch swing in front and the real swing on the back sleeping porch. Mostly all you can hear is the birds and the wind. Sleeping in the loft was heavenly. I made daisy chains out of all the daisies. Downtown Asheville was close, but not too close. And I liked how relaxed I felt at the end of my stay.

    Chris2014-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderfully beautiful place to call home for a few nights. We loved it. Caroline was so nice and the Cabin was perfect. Weaverville is a cute little town and Asheville is just a short drive away. We throughly enjoyed our stay and our exploration of North Carolina. I hope to go back again soon!

    Natala2013-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin has a magical feel about it; it exudes warmth, simplicity and happiness. It's a dreamy place for people wanting to get away, rest, and enjoy the beauty surrounding them. The cabin itself is exquisite in its attention to detail and comfort. The kitchen is stocked well for cooking, the wood burning will be lit when you arrive in winter, and there are a great collection of books. Waking in the a-frame attic bedroom with light streaming in through the windows was wonderful; so was listening to the rain hit the tin roof as we relaxed and made breakfast. We got engaged on the (very charming) back porch of this place, and will be excited to come back to enjoy it in years to come. The place is a real gem, and truly has a sense of wonder and calmness that you rarely find in a getaway home. Beautiful place to have beautiful memories. The mailbox is small and clustered with a few others when you drive up; you have to park and take a little walk before you see the cabin, perched in a small valley of trees. (You will not see the cabin from the road).

    Jordan2014-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline's cabin is charming and cozy. The amount of time and love she's put into it is very evident. It was pretty chilly when we were there but the wood stove kept the cabin warm and comfortable. She supplied plenty of wood, as well as all the basic necessities. Everything about the cabin was just lovely, right down to the drive up to it - a winding rural mountain road following a stream. It's far enough from Asheville to feel remote, but close enough to go into town for delicious food. We enjoyed every minute of our stay there.

    Kathryn2013-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • I didn't get a chance to meet Caroline in person, but I can tell that she is a woman who shares my opinion that the details matter. The cabin was perfectly appointed. Cozy and oh so cute. Plus equipped with everything we needed to make a nice meal, enjoy cocktails on the back porch, morning coffees on the front porch...We had an amazing time. Such a relaxing and rejuvenating weekend. The location of the cabin is just perfect. Close by great hiking trails. Yet near enough to Asheville for a nice dinner out on the town. We did moderate hikes each day we were there. The Rattlesnake Lodge Trail was one that was near by - (Website hidden by Airbnb) Blanking on the name of the other one we did. We had a lovely dinner out at The Admiral - (Website hidden by Airbnb) Overall, a wonderful hostess and remarkable accommodations. We hope to make it back for another romantic mountain getaway!

    Tina2012-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • What a unique experience! The cabin is a labor of love and the setting is magical. Even in the winter, with the wood stove going, we had a wonderful time. Asheville is a not-too-long drive away, there is hiking nearby, and just hanging out on the porch or reading in the loft were great experiences. You should be able to build a fire in a wood stove and climb a relatively steep ladder to the sleeping loft to stay here--we had no problem with that but you should know that.

    Miruna2013-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • We celebrated the most relaxing day of our honeymoon at the cabin, which is beautifully furnished and beautifully kept. What a treasure!

  • A very sweet studio. Quiet, secluded, private, lovely location. If visiting during winter, snow tires & 4-wheel drive are advisable.

  • My girlfriend and I stayed at the studio and it was a great experience. The studio itself was spotless and was nestled in a great area in the mountains. Johnny left detailed notes both on how to get to the studio, and inside the studio once we were there. We wanted to go hiking from the studio one day and he gave us some great recommendations. We spent the bulk of each day in Asheville and it was only a 20-30 minute drive, which we didn't mind because it was a beautiful stretch of road. I'll likely stay here again if I ever find myself wanting to go back to Asheville.

    Michael2015-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Tranquil and peaceful is how I'd describe Johnny's studio. It's a little scary to get up to the mountain top but you'll get used to it. Grocery stores are close to the studio, and the kitchen is well-equipped. The shower was my favorite part along with the deck overlooking the mountain. Comfortable and cozy. It was perfect for our anniversary trip.

    Julie2016-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • The mountain top studio was more beautiful than we expected. It was me and my girlfriend's first trip to Asheville and we wanted to get an authentic experience, and the mountain top studio was just that. As we drove up the mountain to get to the studio the landscape became more and more serene and the beautiful sounds of nature filled the air. Johnny's directions helped a lot while trying to reach the studio. When we got to the studio Johnny was there to meet us with a warm welcome. The studio was pristine and had everything we needed to make it feel like we were at home. The view from the huge back deck outside the studio showed beautiful mountains in the distance. Johnny warned me ahead of time that he would be doing renovations to the upstairs unit, which was no problem at all for us for we were out and about for most parts of the day. Even when they were doing work on the upper level we could barely hear them when we were in the downstairs unit. If you're looking for a comfortable getaway in the mountains of Asheville and serenity, this is the place for you. Thanks Johnny!

  • My husband and I spent five days here for our honeymoon. The setting was exceedingly beautiful and peaceful. The way the house is situated on the side of the hill in relation to the trees almost made it feel like you were staying in a tree house. It was an adventure hiking up to Eden rock but the spectacular views were totally worth it. We also appreciated how well equipped the kitchen was and enjoyed having the option to cook. The only thing we really didn't like was how hard the mattress was. If we had only been staying one or two nights it might not have been so bad. But by the end of the week our backs were in agony. That's the only thing that keeps me from giving a 5-star rating.

    Brittney2015-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Wyatt and I had such a wonderful time. The view was amazing, it was quiet, peaceful, we watched the honey bees and listened to the leaves fall. We look forward to visiting again. Warmest, Adryin

    Adryin2013-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place is nice and clean. The bathroom is tight but has everything you need. There isn't a television and the noise from upstairs can be quite disruptive. There were small children (or maybe just one noisy child?) upstairs during our stay and the noise level (crying, running around, noisy toys, etc) made us only want to be there to sleep. The parents were friendly but there's only so much you can do. If it weren't for that, our stay would have been perfect. And, yes, the roads are tight, steep mountain roads so be ready for that.

  • Mountain Top Chateau was a great place to stay -- clean and absolutely beautiful scenery. We even saw bear cubs while we were there! Johnny was very responsive to our questions and very helpful. I would absolutely recommend staying there; we would certainly stay there again.

  • John's cabin was a beautiful retreat, but close enough to Asheville that it was no trouble to run into town and wander around too. It was lovely sitting on the porch in the mornings watching the bees. Wish we could have stayed for a week instead of just a weekend!

  • Great relaxing stay in the updated chateau. Nice view of woods through the windows and a balcony with nice views of the mountains. Awesome kitchen. Wifi was a plus to get a little work done. Key code entry so no issues with getting keys. Binder with all key info including local places to check out. Only other things to note were... Expect a little bit of a drive to get to it off freeway, narrow windy road, but hey, it's the mountains...only way to get there! No service with AT&T, but if you are looking to disconnect, it helps!! Couldn't wash clothes due to water conservation, but understandable given the remote location. Great stay overall, I'd recommend for anyone wanting a peaceful retreat to the mountains with easy access to check out Asheville.

  • The stay was great. The beds were comfortable, and the area is gorgeous. The house is surrounded by large trees that were dropping acorns on the roof, providing a sound track of nature as you drifted off to sleep. The shower was strong and warm and we didn't have any problems running out of water with three people getting showers. Verizon cell service will give you a bar or two of 3G coverage, which is enough to make calls, and the fast in-house wifi takes care of any other internet needs. I arrived with a cold and congestion, but John had some lovely herbal teas in the cabinet that soothed my throat and helped me sleep at night. As far as sleeping at night, because of the location, it's pitch black and absolutely silent at night, other than the acorns on the roof. My wife and I left our two year old with his grandparents, so we enjoyed the best sleep that we've had in literally years. I'd recommend this house to anyone looking to get away and "unplug" for a while.

Charmant. Romantique. Relaxant.
This charming, cozy, modern guesthouse sits on the mountain at an elevation of 2800 feet! It has so much to offer. Featuring a queen sized tempurpedic bed, which comfortably sleeps 2 people, (however an extra mattress can be arranged for a 3rd person if needed) With its large windows looking out over the mountains you can watch the birds and squirrels or maybe even see a fox or a bear! Nature awaits you! You have access to a private deck with the most magical morning views, a wonderful place to sit and enjoy your coffee before exploring Asheville's breweries, the Biltmore Estate, some GREAT hikes or many other fun things Asheville has to offer. And if you feel like staying in and watching a movie there's an XBOX 360, Netflix, HBO NOW, HULU and a large DVD collection to choose from when we are home. You will find a selection of coffee and tea for your enjoyment. You will also find a binder in the apartment with several of our recommendations around town as well as directions to the nearest hike from our home!(3 miles) And there's a yoga mat available for you to use if you need it! It is the perfect romantic getaway, or retreat to write, read, or contemplate life. If you are passing through riding the blue ridge parkway we are just a hop, skip and a jump away. We are close enough to town, yet magically set in the mountains. Relax in nature or visit a local brewery downtown. Either way enjoy all the wonderful aspects of Asheville. We are closely located to many wonderful Ashville attractions: 2-5 miles from entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Warren Wilson Collage, WNC Nature Center 3 miles to a great hiking spot in the Pisgah National Forest. Directions to this spot will be in the binder in the apartment when you check in. 6-10 miles to Downtown Asheville, the River Arts District, Biltmore Estate, Highland Brewery, Pisgah Brewing, Wicked Weed, Wholefoods, Trader Joes Under an hour to Mt. Mitchell, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure And SO much more!! Disclaimer: As we no longer have a security deposit...If you happen to break or damage anything there will be a replacement fee of $25-100+ If you log out of any tv apps without our prior consent such as Netflix, HBO, Hulu there will be a $25 inconvenience fee. If you have unannounced guests or break house rules (such as smoking, cooking meat, having parties, etc) there could be a fine of $50+ per rule.
  • Abaolutely awesome. Pretty spot for a few days of relaxing exploration. Ridiculoualy comfy bed and very attentive hosts. Another Airbnb we would be happy to live in permanently.

  • This is a great little place for a couple or individual visiting Asheville. I used it as a writing retreat, and the small size and isolated setting led to a bit of cabin fever.

  • Ricky's place was wonderful. Fantastic decor and great location.

    Omar2017-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a week here as a getaway to study for an upcoming professional exam, and I am very glad I did. A beautiful view, a modern and comfortable space, and private if that matters to you. One thing about the photos -- they do not capture how large the open kitchen and living space is. 10 out of 10 would stay again!

    Jared2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Ricky's place was the perfect mountain getaway! Everything about the trip was spot on - all of the comments/reviews about the place were 100% accurate. It's extremely clean and cozy! In addition Ricky was an awesome host - there was even breakfast food in the fridge upon our arrival. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.

    Kelsey2015-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Very clean and fully stocked. Ricky has thought of every detail!

    Bailey2017-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Best Airbnb experience I’ve ever had! Really enjoyed the little touches of breakfast items in the fridge and media guide. The space is beautiful and great for a quite weekend away. Everything was great. However, I have to say Roxie the pup next door was my favorite part.

  • The listing was accurate, the apartment was very nice and clean. It was very private.

  • We couldn't have picked a better place to stay for our short weekend ski trip to North Carolina. It felt like home the minute we walked in. The decor is modern, extremely clean and tidy, with little touches that add a coziness to the apartment. We were guided to the door by a friendly black dog, and in the morning, on our way to the slopes, we saw a family of deer coming out of the woods. The kitchen had everything we needed for a homemade breakfast including orange juice, coffee, bread, bacon, oil, and eggs. Exhausted from our day, we enjoyed a glass of wine and a movie (huge channel selection.) Our favorite parts: the quick replies of our host if we had any questions, the assortment of charging stations for our iPhone and Note 5, and the SHOWER. Oh my god, the shower was great.

    Britt2016-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place and can't wait to come back. So relaxing and a beautiful location. Sitting on the porch was one of my favorite things and of course the inside is perfect too. If you don't plan to go out upon arrival and want to cook in for the night go ahead and stop at the grocery store on your way in-otherwise it's a little drive (but a nice one) we forgot to do that and had to go back out soon after we arrived-they did provide breakfast items which was such a nice touch. You won't regret booking this place!

Entire private 4000+ square foot "McMansion" in West Asheville. The rooms/home feature stunning year round views, king beds, Huge TV with netflix, high speed wireless internet, cable TV, walking distance to groceries, and plenty of space to relax throughout the day. Enjoy the views of the mountains from the spacious front balconies and relax in the large jetted tubs. A well stocked kitchen awaits you for any meal you would like to prepare.
Enjoy the beautiful year long mountain views minutes from everything Asheville has to offer. The outdoor hot tub is finally working! We have two large garden tubs inside each of two master bathrooms as well. Owning and remodeling this home has been quite the adventure, and I'm so glad to be able to share the space with people. Enjoy the large front patio for breathtaking year round mountain views. The balcony is accessible through the front living space or through one of the master bedrooms, with the upstairs master bedroom having it's own private balcony with an even better view. There are two master bedrooms that are almost identical, each having their own large jetted garden tub and showers, and the house has 3 other bedrooms and two full bathrooms in addition, leaving a ton of space for your group. Huge kitchen features granite countertops, cooktop, oven, dishwasher, and a fully stocked kitchen. There is a very large smart TV, dining room, rear deck, and plenty of space for entertaining. The home features some privacy, yet it is in the middle of a residential neighborhood. There is a steep driveway, but any car can make it up easily. In case of inclement weather we have alternative parking spaces available, but this is only an issue sometimes in the winter months.
This is a great neighborhood on the side of a mountain in Asheville, NC. The neighbors are awesome, and we love it here. This place is truly unique, close to everything, and has amazing year round views.
  • Shawn's place was great! Wonderful tempurpedic mattress, nice tub and shower. Amazing view from balcony. Great for a group of 6-10 people.

  • Awesome place. Quick uber ride downtown, very nice place. Will go again!

    Dan2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Shawn was very easy to get in touch wit and very accommodating. The house was fairly easy to find and in the middle of everything you could need, but yet felt quiet. It is very pretty, and in various stages of remodel. The view was gorgeous from the balcony. Room was described accurately, and the bed was very comfortable. We loved the huge jacuzzi tub. The main living room had a huge tv and very comfortable couch. I will stay again and hopefully soon!

    Lisa2016-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • This room in Shawn's house is lovely and comfortable. We enjoyed the view and the jetted tub and the high quality mattress and the access to Netflix.

    Gwinn2016-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Really large house with great views at the top of the mountain. Our hosts were fabulous and super accommodating. Convenient to downtown. (Uber about $12) Looking forward to coming back for a family vacation.

  • Great space, great view. Very close to dt

    Frank2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The "Echo Room" at Shawn's was as described and a great value. As Shawn notes himself and others have commented upon, some light remodeling is taking place in his home...but none of it is an issue for the (Website hidden by Airbnb) noise...etc... For the money, I doubt is you can find a room in Asheville with the magnificent view , privacy, memory foam bed, Netflix, and a large bath including large walk-in shower and private hot tub. Checking in and out is very simple and easy. Shawn provides great directions and information concerning the best restaurants and breweries. Definitely give "The Oyster House" a try. I would and will rent a room at Shawn's without hesitation.

If you are looking for a secluded mountain getaway this is not the place but if you looking to be in the heart of downtown festivities then our loft is the perfect place for you. Our loft has local art, full window view of College St., high ceilings, exposed brick. We are right in the center of all of the downtown action. Downtown is lively especially at night where you can enjoy craft cocktails, amazing food and live music.
Luxury 1 bedroom loft located in the heart of downtown Asheville
Downtown Asheville is energetic and we are right in the center of the action! Lots of cool spaces to explore, amazing restaurants and nightlife. We are across the street from Table and Imperial Life, which features a Friday late night Hip Hop Dance party. We are two doors down from the One Stop/Asheville Music Hall which stays open late and features funk, reggae, and rock. Old time, bluegrass, celtic, rock, symphony, African drumming, trad jazz, modern jazz, gypsy, singer-songwriters and eclectic street performers are a stone's throw from here as well. Award winning restaurants including sushi, Indian (north or south), Korean, Italian, BBQ, Southern, vegan, charcuterie, farm-to-table, pizza, Spanish, gluten free, French, Chinese, Ethiopian, Himalayan, bakeries, coffee houses, tea, four chocolateries, twelve breweries (and counting…) and food trucks galore. Art galleries feature openings every weekend in downtown and nearby and keep daytime business hours to explore artists from the area and from afar.
  • Listing was as described. Loft is right downtown and walking distance to everything. Loved that they had coffee (with creamers!!) and tea in the kitchen. Little details made the stay exceptional. Will stay again for sure!

    Elizabeth2015-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place to stay. Everything was as described and better. Great location, close to shops and restaurants. Nice extras provided, such as bowls for our dogs, a selection of teas and coffee. We will definitely be back.

  • The loft is beautiful, very clean, and really well decorated. Krista had lots of great suggestions for things to do in the area. The location cannot be beat - we parked our car for the weekend and were able to walk everywhere in a very short distance. I would very highly recommend staying here!

    Laura2014-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Krista and Andy's apartment in Asheville was a dream. It was perfectly located downtown, within walking distance to all the wonderful restaurants, galleries and the art museum. They were both communicative and ready to help with any questions I may have had – at the beginning and throughout my stay. The apartment was cozy and the bed was divine! Also really appreciated the washer and dryer. Kitchen was fully equipped with anything you might need – including fresh coffee and a couple of local craft brews in the fridge! I will definitely stay here next time I visit Asheville.

    Jacqueline2016-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a cool place and a perfect location for exploring downtown Asheville! Very comfortable and well stocked. Unique loft setting. We did hear noise from the bar downstairs but used the white noise machine provided and it really didn't bother us at all. Especially comfy bed.

    Deborah2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • The space is exactly as advertised. Super clean and located within walking distance of every place that we wanted to see. Parking in the Rankin garage is easy and cheap ($10 per day).

  • The perfect spot for a weekend stay in Asheville. The loft is centrally located making everything in walking distance. We parked our car on Thursday and didn't get back in it until we left on Sunday. The loft is very clean, perfectly decorated, and well equipped. We will definitely be back and stay there again. Krista is an amazing host and knows how to treat her guests.

    Ley2016-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect! We were in Asheville for our wedding and this loft was in the perfect location. We hardly had to drive anywhere, every where we wanted to go to was walkable (besides the mountains). We loved everything about it! It was clean, cozy and well decorated. It can be noisey at night on the weekends, but we didnt mind it at all. We also love the fact that it was dog friendly, our pup Opie loved it. If you are looking for a place to stay while you are in Asheville, this is perfect!!

A beautiful one-hundred year old Richard Sharp Smith historic home in Montford neighborhood. 3 blocks from the center of town, 5-15 minute walk to everything. Hot tub, high speed wi-fi and cable tv, outdoor spaces for relaxation, gourmet kitchen.
You will be staying in the "Blue Room". This is downstairs next to the "Green Room". Those two rooms share the Mauve bathroom. This home is a quick 5 minute walk from the center of downtown. This historic neighborhood is peaceful, yet only a short walk to all the fun activities downtown. Fantastic restaurants nearby, the Pritchard Park drum circle, the US Cellular Center, and St. Lawrence Basilica are only three blocks away. We are a 5 minute drive from UNCA.. You won't need to move your car once you are settled in, unless you decide to go to the Biltmore Estate and Biltmore Village, 10 minutes away. Easy access to the Blue Ridge parkway, NC Arboretum, Folk Art Center and much more!
I love the beautiful old historic homes in this Montford neighborhood. My house dates from circa 1910, termed a "Victorian cottage", and built by Richard Sharp Smith. Many of the homes in the neighborhood date from the 1880's. This Victorian neighborhood was the first suburb of Asheville. It is very quiet and friendly. Lots of beautiful walking opportunities around the neighborhood.

  • Rita is a very nice woman with so many music skill and autism talent. And her house is very cozy as described. We had s great night there. Thank you!

  • A wonderful weekend in a home away from home. Rita and Jeff's warm welcome and ample helpful information before and during our stay allowed us to tweak our plans and make our first visit to Asheville a full, wonderful experience despite it being a rainy weekend. Our Blue Room bed and quiet neighborhood made for the most comfortable sleep we've ever had in a B&B. And relaxing in the hot tub at the end of a full day further helped us unwind, unplug, and be, just be. This place is a hidden gem!

    Jane2016-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Rita and Jeff was incredible. Their beautiful, spacious, historic home is welcoming and comfortable. Truly, it feels like you're visiting family. The outdoor seating areas are beautifully done and a great place to watch the fireflies on a warm summer night. The walk downtown is less than 10 minutes - but walking within the historic neighborhood is the real treat, with all of the lovely homes and gardens to view. Thank you for being so awesome Rita and Jeff! Cheers!

    Ellen2015-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • We felt comfortable to use the facilities and come and go as we pleased. The neighborhood was quiet (we stayed on a Friday night). The location is fantastic in relation to downtown Asheville. We were invited to bring our one-year-old if we come back again, which made us feel very welcome. One thing: I expected for the mauve bathroom to connect the two bedrooms. However, the description does NOT state this--I just read it this way. The bathroom is simply down the hall, which was fine. We were happy to find and patronize the Victorian Cottage!

    Rachel2015-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Rita and Jeff were the perfect hosts! A beautiful home in the historic Montford district and very close to downtown. Jeff even picked me up and dropped me off at the airport for a small fee. Exactly as pictured with a beautiful outdoor sitting area. Would highly recommend this home for a trip to Asheville. You will not be dissappointed!

  • We really enjoyed our stay with Rita & friends. She is a gracious host that provides every thinkable luxury. The bed felt like sleeping on clouds. A continental breakfast (coffee & pastries) are provided. Even though there are other guests, there are many quaint areas to be alone or join the others. Close to most festivities, we walked and drove. Thanks for the fantastic hospitality. We'll see you again soon.

    Lore2016-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what a beautiful house and kind people. Jeff and Rita really care about making each guest feel welcomed to the neighborhood and love to talk about the history of the house and of Asheville. The house is the perfect location, just a 5 minute walk downtown. Parking is ample and easily accssssible from your room. Coffee, tea, and snacks are provided in the morning. Rita even helped us out when planning our route along the Blue Ridge Parkway. We highly recommend Jeff and Rita's Victorian cottage to anyone staying in Asheville.

  • Rita and Jeff were very welcoming. The house and neighborhood were as described - a few blocks away from the center of town, in a quiet residential area. We were there for two nights. Staying in the house was very communal experience with lots of shared spaces (including bathrooms). It has a "funky" - late '60's feeling to it - as does much of Asheville.

  • Wonderful place to stay!! We were not able to meet Rita on this stay but Jeff was there to show me around upon arrival and was so helpful and friendly. We would totally recommend this beautiful home to anyone staying in the area. It was so close and convenient to downtown. 5 stars!!!!

  • This was my first experience with airbnb and it was such a pleasure. Rita and Jeff were fantastic hosts and made me feel right at home. When I arrived there was beautiful music coming from the house and Rita welcomed me with a hug. I immediately knew I was in the right place. The house is amazing and full of warmth and charm. I highly recommend a stay there if visiting Asheville. I know I will definitely be back and hope to stay longer next time!

  • We stayed with Rita and Jeff for three nights during a short weekend trip to Asheville. We couldn't have asked for a better experience or for more friendly and welcoming hosts. They made us feel at home and shared great recommendations on outings and activities to make the most of our short trip. The house is also in a great location - just a few minutes walking distance from downtown, but in a very quiet and serene neighborhood. If we ever get back down to Asheville we know where to stay!

    Peter2014-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Rita made my daughter and I very welcome in her beautiful home. We enjoyed the neighborhood for its unique charm and excellent proximity to town. I look forward to staying here again!

  • Rita's home is in a beautiful part of Asheville, close to the mountains and downtown. Her husband Jeff was super accommodating, and we had everything we needed. Wish we could have stayed a little longer.

  • Very accommodating host and location was ideal for first time in Asheville. The house was clean and the large kitchen and common area was a nice gathering spot to meet other guests.

Top 5 Sunset Spots in Asheville, N.C. The Best Places to Catch a Scenic Sunset It's no question that some of the world's oldest mountains offer some of the best vantage points to watch the sun drop below the peaks in a splash of color. In an online poll, fans of Asheville, N.C. nominated their favorite places to watch the sun set over the Blue Ridge Mountains. Here are their responses, in descending order of popularity: Max Patch in Fall 5. MAX PATCH This grassy bald is definitely a favorite, with true 360-degree views of the Smoky Mountains and an intersection with the Appalachian Trail. For a sunset to remember, get there early and bring a picnic and a blanket—and your camera to capture the colors of the sunset reflected on layers of majestic mountains. Here are directions to Max Patch. 4. BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY Craggy Gardens Picnic America's Favorite Drive—as well as several of the stops along the way—is also a popular choice for some pre-dusk views. Hop on near Asheville and drive south to catch several scenic vistas. Or choose an overlook to snuggle up next to someone special and watch the stars come out. Learn more about the Blue Ridge Parkway. Biltmore Sunset in Fall 3. BILTMORE The 8,000 acres of George Vanderbilt's historic estate offer numerous scenic options, from the meadow behind America's Largest Home, to the lagoon with views of the back of the house and a good chance of a deer sighting. Or choose a window-side table at the Dining Room at the Inn on Biltmore Estate and drink in the beauty of the landscape while you sip some estate-grown wine. Check out our Biltmore ticket travel packages. 2. ANYWHERE Sunset Over Asheville Skyline Many readers made a very good point—almost anywhere in the Asheville area is a good place to see the sunset! Because we are surrounded by some of the highest peaks east of the Mississippi River (including the highest), views are bountiful all over town. Whether you're dining in a restaurant, checking in to a B&B, browsing the eclectic shops or even just standing in a parking lot, don't forget to stop and take in the view. Go ahead, start planning your next visit. Sunset Terrace at OGPI 1. The OMNI GROVE PARK INN The most popular spot to watch the sunset, according to the fans, is undoubtedly the Omni Grove Park Inn. The aptly named Sunset Terrace is famous for its dazzling views of downtown and the mountains, as well as for its chop house cuisine. Already have dinner plans? Grab a cocktail and a table in the new seating area just below the main terrace, or order up some duck fat fries and a local craft brew and lounge on a fireside sofa at EDISON restaurant. Make a reservation for your next sunset evening.
  • Beth's place made my stay in Asheville perfect. I attended two wedding ceremonies in different parts of the city, and the location provided an easy Uber ride to both. Communication with Beth was easy, and check in and check out were a breeze. The place itself is great... definitely one of the cleanest, tidiest I've stayed in. It was a nice retreat at the end of each day. I also loved the desk because I brought some work with me. The bath tub is also a special feature. I will definitely be coming back if I return to Asheville, and will recommend this place to friends. Thank you, Beth!

  • Our stay at Athena's loft was exactly what we were looking for for our honeymoon. It was comfortable, close to great shops and restaurants, and restful. Ken and Beth are kind and communicative, and we would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Asheville!

  • Spacious and clean area to stay in. Perfect if you are stopping by for the night or a couple of days to explore the city. Close to downtown. Loved it!

    Sophie2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • From our initial communications, I could tell that Beth took her hostess role very seriously. Her "house rules" were fair and concisely outlined in my rental acceptance e-mail message. She promptly responded to any inquiry that I had, whether it be via Airbnb messaging or text messaging. Once I actually met her, my first impression was confirmed. Not only did Beth accommodate my need for an 8:30 p.m. check-in, but she welcomed me in a very warm manner upon arrival. She took me on a comprehensive tour of the loft, but then quickly gave me space to acclimate. She encouraged me to visit or contact her at any time, should I have questions about the lodging or city. I was pleased to discover that she had also left behind a binder with local listings for activities, dining, shopping, and sights to see; the waterfalls hunting guide proved to be extremely helpful while traversing the Pisgah National Forest. :-) The loft was even more charming in person than as shown in the photographs. The down-home country decor made me feel as if I were staying at a bed and breakfast. I was delighted by the fully equipped mini-kitchen, for I could whip up some delectable dishes with items purchased from local farmers' markets, Earth Fare, Trader Joe's, or Whole Foods. The quaint alcove nestled into the whimsical mountain garden was the perfect place to savor all of the fresh ingredients. Once the last rays of daylight filtered and the lightening bugs emerged, I thoroughly enjoyed returning indoors to lounge in a lavish bubble bath. (Just be cautious in situating the shower curtain properly around the antique claw-foot tub. I had two "floods," due to my own carelessness.) The cozy residential neighborhood was nestled behind the thoroughfare of downtown West Asheville. The quiet ambiance was the perfect setting in which I could contemplate and practice the meditation skills that I had acquired while on my trip. I felt safe coming in and out of the loft at any time of the day or night; I especially enjoyed the evenings when Smokey, the neighborhood feline, would pop out from under the brush to greet me as I opened up my car door. :-) To be honest, words cannot possibly paint an accurate picture of this little North Carolinian gem. You really must stay at the loft to fully appreciate its positive energy. I cannot wait to return and retreat from "the real world! (Website hidden by Airbnb)

  • Beth was always quick to get back to me with answers to any questions. The location of the property was convenient to downtown Asheville (approximately a 5-7 minute drive to downtown.) The neighborhood was quiet and safe. The only negative aspect of our experience at this property was that it was a little small for us. My husband is 6'2" and he was a little uncomfortable with the size of the shower in the bathroom and bumped his head several times on the slanted ceiling.

    Sarah2014-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Athena's Loft! In fact, we got engaged during our stay! Perfectly located in the quaint and eclectic West Asheville, we walked to breakfast every morning. The apartment was quiet and relaxing and the kitchen was stocked well for cooking if need be. Though the restaurants in Asheville were so delicious there was no need for us. My fiancé and I certainly hope to return and stay a bit longer!

    Rebekah2015-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent base from which to explore West Asheville! A short walk to many great restaurants and bars on Haywood. We loved Biscuithead, Sunny Spot, the Oyster House Brewing Co. and caught an amazing show at the Isis. The suite is really sweet and clean. We appreciated the in suite laundry and other amenities, not much more one could wish for really! We were only able to have a short visit, but this would be a great place to stay for a longer period. Beth was there to welcome us and complete the key handover without a hitch.

  • Very nice place. Clean and cozy. The hosts were helpful and informative, unfortunately we didn't get a chance to meet our them, in part because my companion and I were sick with the flu all weekend. Would definitely stay here again.

• We had a great and relaxing week in this cabin. It's great to be in nature but it's close enough to be able to go into town or into pigeon forge easily. We heard coyotes once each evening and even saw one on our last morning around 3am. That was really neat! The cabin is comfortable and cozy. Hot tub was great! We will keep this on our list and will visit again. I didn't want to come home!

  • My boyfriend, now fiance, actually proposed to me right on the front porch of this cabin! This little cabin was the perfect getaway! The pictures really don't do it justice! My fiance and I absolutely loved the location and the quaintness of the cabin. It was very clean and the host had provided everything we needed for our stay. The absolute best part was the hot tub! The property was extremely secluded, as was mentioned in the description, and my fiance and I had a wonderful time! We will definitely be back!

    Caroline2016-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed at quite a few AirB&B's and this by FAR the best one. I booked it as a romantic getaway with my boyfriend that's going into the Navy very soon. The cabin was even prettier in person than the photos. It was very clean with little treat, shampoo/conditioner and everything you needed to cook! The host was always very kind and responsive. By the end of the trip I didn't want to leave because my boyfriend and I fell in love with the cabin and area. I am without a doubt recommending it to everyone I know and will be back in the future.

  • We had a fantastic stay at the Ridge Runners' Retreat Cabin! Great value and location! The property and surrounding areas were absolutely beautiful. Secluded and peaceful, it was the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the daily routine. We immediately felt at home in this open concept, super tidy, cozy cabin. It had everything you would need! Building a campfire and winding down in the jacuzzi after a long hike was a plus! When not enjoying downtime at the cabin, we made trips to Cosby, Gatlinburg and The Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Approximately a 30-40 minute commute to our destinations, but the stunning scenery made the drive fly by! When back in this region, we will definitely stay again!

    Jenn2015-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful, relaxing time at this cozy cabin. Everything is just as advertised--very private, beautiful location. We really appreciated how clean and comfortable everything was. Hot tub and fireplace make this a warm, welcoming place to get away from it all in the winter.

  • This house is super cute and in a great semi-secluded location! It's not downtown but it's not too far away in the mountains either. It was clean, there were instructions left for the visitor, along with pamphlets and guides to surrounding areas! I wish we could have stayed longer.

  • Great cottage! The self check-in process was very easy. The rooms were nice and spacious and the kitchen is very nicely equipped. There's a grocery store about an 8 minute drive away and about a 15 minute drive to Asheville. The area is nice and quiet and has nice views. Lisa was a great, responsive host, and even left us some welcome candy when we arrived.

Beautiful, spacious walk-out basement apartment overlooking mountains, forest, and river. Unwind in the hot tub after hiking; enjoy coffee on your private deck. Let nature lull you to sleep on the king size bed. Relax and rejuvenate in this lovely retreat, just minutes from most attractions: 2-4 mi: Blue Ridge Parkway, Folk Art Center, Warren Wilson College, Highland Brewery 5-7 mi: Downtown Asheville, River Arts District 9 mi: Biltmore Estate, Black Mountain, Pisgah Brewery
The walk-out basement apartment is light and bright, with views from most windows overlooking mountains, forested property, and/or the Swannanoa River. Please note the hosts live upstairs. Street parking is always available; best spot is just to the right of our driveway (as you face the house). Please pull up as close to our driveway as possible. Reach the apartment by walking down the driveway, then 15 or so steps down the side of the house. A few steps up puts you onto your private deck, with entrances to the apartment. The hot tub is just a few steps down on a separate deck. The apartment's deck is several feet off the ground, which slopes down to the river. The property is heavily wooded and steep toward the river, with patches of poison ivy and the occasional bear(s). We ask our guests to enjoy the views from the deck, and not venture onto the back property. Given the terrain and possible wildlife, we respectfully request you to consider any child safety or mobility issues when considering this property.
Botany Woods is a beautifully wooded and quiet neighborhood one mile outside the Asheville city limits. The neighborhood is bordered by the Swannanoa River. We are a short drive to parks, attractions, breweries, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and downtown Asheville. Please drive 25 mph or less in our neighborhood, and watch for pedestrians.
  • This was my husband and I's first Airbnb experience and it couldn't have been better. Miriam and Patrick's place is quiet and peaceful and the amount of space is amazing! Totally beats staying at a common hotel. The place is so cutely decorated and everything we could have needed was available to us. The private deck with the hot tub was so nice! Most places we went were within a 10 minute drive. They provided breakfast items and we even had a bottle of wine waiting upon our arrival since we were celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary. You can tell that Miriam and Patrick put a lot of thought into all of the details of this place and I couldn't have asked for more. I would definitely stay here again!

    Amanda2016-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed here for our 2 year anniversary and loved every minute of it! Miriam and Patrick have the cutest, most cozy apartment we could have asked for! Great people, beautifully decorated, and amazing views! Very close to downtown and Blue Ridge Parkway! We had a great time and will be returning!

    Brittany2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place really set the bar high for our first AirBNB experience. Miriam and Patrick have literally thought of everything you could possibly need during your stay. We lived in a basement apartment for a few months and I WISH it had been this nice. If we could have, we would have stayed for much longer! The view from the back deck is perfect. The natural elements make it so serene and relaxing. The hot tub is a pretty exceptional bonus. I love that there was a Keurig, bagels and cream cheese for breakfast one day, and even board games and books for our enjoyment. The apartment itself is just (Website hidden by Airbnb) much that we were certain someone was hired to decorate...but, nope, Miriam did that herself and it looks just amazing! We will definitely be back and we will also be sending our friends their way. What an amazing find!

    Kacey2016-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • The mountain view home honestly went above and beyond our expectations. I would highly recommend it. The private basement apartment is very nice and we would consider staying there again soon. The hot tub was warm when we arrived and we made sure to use it each day. The welcome book was great as well, because it provided us with all the information we could need, along with recommendations for places to visit. Miriam was a great host!

    Chris2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot say how much we enjoyed staying at Miriam's lovely space enough! It was truly a magical trip and I wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else. I hope to stay here again on our next visit, which I hope is sooner than later!

  • We stayed here for 2 nights and loved it! Miriam kept everything so well stocked and nice. Loved the hot tub and deck for wine and coffee. Felt so cozy and safe. $10 uber to everything downtown. Would stay again!

  • What a great lil paradise to enjoy while in the Asheville area. We enjoyed morning coffee on the patio provided by the host. Miriam was a great host and definitely spared no details. We can't wait to return!

  • We were looking for somewhere close to downtown Asheville, but convenient for exploring points outside the city too. The Mountain Views Over the River apartment proved to be perfect for doing just that. There's easy access along the side of the house, and once you round the corner you're rewarded with a serene and shaded backyard and the faint sound of rushing water from the Swannanoa River below. Inside, we were welcomed with a great little postcard from the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway and pretty fresh flowers from the garden. The full kitchen is good for cooking meals, the bathroom is well-appointed and the bed is huge and comfortable. Outside, the deck offers the ideal space for kicking back and enjoying the great outdoors. There's also a nice hot tub with a pretty view. From the apartment it's a quick and easy drive into downtown, and you can also easily hop on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We even took a day trip to eastern Tennessee for white water rafting, so the location proved convenient for that as well. The amazing Folk Art Center is only a few minutes away, and is well worth your time and provides access to a quick tour of the Blue Ridge Parkway if you don't have time to do the whole parkway trip. We had out of the norm questions about the area, and Miriam provided quick and helpful answers. It's a lovely space in a quiet neighborhood that's great for travelers visiting Asheville and surrounding areas. We enjoyed our stay and think you will as well.

Just minutes to downtown and the Blue Ridge Parkway, but surrounded by farms and wildlife! Lucky W Cottage is located on the grounds of Lucky W Farm in the Beaverdam Valley of North Asheville.
Lucky W Cottage is a 1925 guest house and is situated over our detached garage. It has approximately 800 sq.ft. of newly remodeled and upgraded living space. It is private and is located 100 ft or so from the main house where we live with our three boys. The cottage has one bedroom with a queen-size 19th century antique bed with a 3" memory foam topper, a living room area with a queen-size fold-out sofa, a generous, contemporary kitchen, a walk-in closet and a modern bathroom with a large mosaic tile shower. The decor is a fun mix of new and old. It has wi-fi and a TV for DVD's or Netflix. Enjoy your morning coffee or late night aperitif alfresco on the private bistro table and chairs. We will provide all linens, coffee and farm fresh eggs.
The Beaverdam Valley is a special place in North Asheville situated just below the Blue Ridge Parkway with incredible sunsets and views. It has lots of history and lots of good people. What I love about it is that we live in a rural setting but are very close to downtown Asheville. We have wonderful views and lots of wildlife and are only minutes away from almost everything we might need.
  • Jessica was there to greet us upon arrival. She gave us a run down of the property as well as recommendations for hikes and restaurants to check out during our stay. The property exceeded my expectations. I especially liked the small touches - fresh flowers, movies and books to peruse during our stay, farm fresh eggs from the property, and a plethora of throws to snuggle into while reading. I enjoyed interacting with the family's friendly pets, who were happy to meet as we came and went. The cottage had all of the comforts of home, including an umbrella for unpredictable weather as well as a small cooler and ice packs that kept our lunch fresh during a day hike. This was our first airbnb experience, but it definitely won't be our last!

    Kim2015-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Lucky W for the week. Jessica and her Husband were great hosts. They met us as we got in late on our first night and showed us around. The Photos don't begin to show all of the great detail and amenities at Lucky W. We loved it! Especially the Heated floors in the bathroom. They have spared nothing at setting the cottage up as a wonderful retreat space. It was a great location to drive downtown to asheville to get (delicious) food, enjoy the great breweries and local spots! We highly recommend staying at Lucky W and look forward to coming back soon!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Withers family cottage! We arrived late, but were greeted by her son who kindly gave us a tour and showed us to the cottage. We woke up to fresh eggs and coffee and a BEAUTIFUL view of the mountains. Jessica and her family were more than helpful. They gave us suggestions of swimming holes, hiking trails, and restaurants. We went swimming in their pool on our final day and had a blast. They are amazing hosts and the location and cottage is truly one-of-a-kind. We will definitely be returning!

    Cole2014-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • We could not have been happier with our Airbnb choice in Asheville! The Withers family are so welcoming and hospitable, yet gave these city dwellers plenty of space and breathing room to enjoy their lovely farm and cottage. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen, plenty of storage room with shelves for your luggage and travel items, and a beautiful bathroom with plenty of fluffy towels. Preparing my husband breakfast in the mornings was such a treat with Jessica's farm fresh eggs; I never saw such beautiful yellow yolks! I can't imagine anyone not wishing they had more time to spend at Lucky W Cottage and will recommend it to my friends and family. Lord willing, we will return in the future!

  • Upon our arrival at the cottage, Jessica and her husband met us in the drive and walked us through the property. They encouraged us to explore as well, as they have some lovely grounds with honey hives, chickens, and more. Overall, they are very welcoming hosts and gave us helpful recommendations for dining and events in the area. The cottage was very comfortable with all the amenities for nice weekend stay. We certainly enjoyed the full space, including a nicely updated kitchen (bonus points: Trader Joe's and Green Life are only 10 minutes away) and lounge area. The cottage also offers easy driving access to both downtown and Biltmore, but itself sits on the shoulder of a small rural ridge surrounded by nice-looking neighbourhoods.

  • If the Lucky W is available for your dates, stop reading and book it. There will be plenty of time to read the outstanding reviews once you secure your reservation. The cottage is wonderful and impeccably clean. If it were for sale, we would have bought it. The property was fun to walk. William and Jessica were a pleasure to meet and shared a couple great recommendations in a city with so many incredible things to do.

Spend a unique night in our beautifully converted bus. Nestled in a pine forest at the crest of a ridge overlooking the Black mountains, but just 15 minutes from downtown Asheville. This romantic sanctuary is peaceful and lush.
This is not your typical hippy bus! Elegantly furnished and nestled in a pine grove, the bus provides a plush full size bed, sink, and eating area. The bus sits in the shade of the forest, is lined with windows and equipped with a standing fan so it stays totally cool and comfortable through the summer. It has electricity and a coffee maker. Sheets and towels are provided.
  • Such a beautiful piece of property! The bus was so cozy and comfortable. Very clean as well. 10-15 mins to downtown Ashville. Zac was very nice and welcoming, very helpful on great locations to eat and hike. We will definitely be coming back!

  • Great time staying at Sparklebark in the real life magic school bus! It was so beautiful waking up among the trees with a beautiful view of the mountains. All in all, very refreshing. Zac was so friendly and gave us some excellent suggestions on what to check out in Asheville! We highly recommend staying here!

  • Our stay at Sparklebark was incredible! The sounds of the rain, the seclusion, and man...the best lightning bug show on earth, were all just part of our magical stay. Zach and Beatriz were amazing, friendly, and so helpful steering is in the right direction for food and entertainment. If you are lucky enough, book! You will not regret it. Ben and Jessica

This gem of a mountain home just had a kitchen renovation to make vacation all the better. Bonus points for a new built-in sectional!
Sweet little cabin tucked on the hillside located between Asheville and Black Mountain. Once you get here you won't want to leave. Deck with table for "Al Fresco" dining, adirondack chairs for relaxing and a hot tub to totally unwind. From the fire pit to the hammock to the cool interior vibe, this mountain home has everything you need to make your vacation a memorable one. We love how tucked away and private our space is without feeling isolated. During the month of October and holidays there is a 3 night minimum. There is also a 3 night minimum for the summer months from June 1st until August 31st.
  • This was our first Airbnb experience and the bar is set high now. My family had a lovely time at this cozy cabin. Their is a hidden kids nook upstairs with a wonderful claw foot tub. The beds downstairs slept very well this cabin is clean and peaceful. Outside offers plenty of space with a secluded feeling yet 10 miles from downtown.

  • Me and my husband loved our stay here! It was so enjoyable from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. It was clean, there were plenty of instructions given by Jennifer about what to do/eat/see while there. We loved relaxing in the hot tub and playing games at night. I would recommend this place to anyone! :)

  • We enjoyed every bit of moment that we spent in this sweet little cabin on the top of the hill. So majestic, charming and had everything that we need for our get away from our busy schedule. Jennifer (the host) was so nice, and always so fast responding our questions via Airbnb app so quickly that we didn't even have to meet her in person. Everything described about the cabin, location, privacy, etc was in there and we got much more from it. I highly recommend the Hip Little Cabin on the Hill to anyone that wants to enjoy life anytime. We will definitely are planing to come back and have another relax and restoration time. This was our first experience with Airbnb and I recommend both. Thanks Jennifer and family for letting us have your cabin and Airbnb for guarantee this success adventure.

  • Amazing cabin! Fully equipped with all of the amenities you'd love, Jennifer helped make our experience in Asheville quite memorable. The cabin has everything you need - board games, fooseball, a hot tub, fire pit, grill and more! I would definitely stay here again in the future. :)

  • We enjoyed everyday of our stay at the Hip Little Cabin on he Hill in the Ashville, NC Area. The cabin and area surrounding the cabin had all the amenities needed to have a nice long and enjoy stay with great attention being given to occupancy comfort. We anticipate more stays in the cabin in the furture.

  • We loved everything about the Hip Little Cabin on the Hill. It was quite possibly the cleanest cabin ever AND our hosts were thoughtful about all of the details, big and small. It was charming, quiet, had everything we needed, and was the perfect distance from Asheville. I will definitely return--what a find! Thank you for making our five year anniversary such a special week.

  • Two other couples and my husband and I took a retreat to the hip cabin to relax and celebrate. Couldn't have asked for a better place for the price. With two bathrooms and a large loft area, there was plenty of room for all six of us. It was rustic and remote enough to experience the beauty of the woods yet close enough to travel to Asheville or black mountain within 15 or so min. Beautifully decorated, clean, cozy and warm, everyone felt comfortable and opted to stay in one day just to rest. There's a good selection of games, movies and books to choose from, with plenty of comfortable seating. Lots of natural lighting too! The kitchen was prepped for cooking, foosball and ping pong table downstairs for gaming and the hot tub...well that was a hit! All around great place. Jennifer was great and quick at responding to a couple questions. Would love to go back!
