“Loooove it. We love it here. There is an amazing view of the lake and the Mexican food is some of the best we have ever had. The shrimp tacos are to die for. Make sure you get there early as it can get pretty busy. It is only open during the summer months and the parking lot is a bit of a nightmare. I recommend parking on the street.”

History Museum
“This little gem is at James Bartleman Park, a little island in the middle of Port Carling in between our two sets of locks. It's a great stop, tons of history, activities for kids, and a great spot to have lunch outside or wander along the river and stop for ice cream. Only open in the warmer seasons.”

Town
“Port Carling is coined the 'hub of the lakes' for a reason. With a beautiful museum located at James Bartleman Park beside two sets of locks which take boats between Lake Rosseau and Lake Muskoka, this town offers many vendors in the food and drink, arts and culture, clothing, interior design, fitness guided tours. There are parks, benches, walkways and gazebo's to sit in or wander along by the water and it is a hub of activity all summer long. ”

Liquor Store
“LCBO - a smaller store that can be extremely busy on summer weekends. Very limited parking. Bracebridge has another store and also a Beer Store, and it might be quicker to go there even with a slightly longer drive.”

Clothing Store
“RIOT is a modern Muskoka surf shop with one simple, totally non-political mission: give cottagers access to the brands and products they know and love, at fair prices, where and when they need them most. From sun dresses to board shorts, long boards to backpacks, on the dock, in the water, out on the town, or somewhere in between, we’ve literally got you covered. And with locations in Port Carling, Bala, and now, Gravenhurst, at the spectacular new Shipyards Marketplace, now is definitely the time to join the lifestyle revolution. Get outside, get active, explore, soar, make life a riot!”

“This restaurant is one of the only restaurants that stays open year round even in the winter. Only open on the weekends during the winter but be sure to check it out. Casual dining and great food only minutes away driving and about a 10 minute walk.”
