“With the C&O Canal Towpath, Antietam Battlefield, and the Potomac River so close by, spending time on the river or biking the towpath or around Antietam is a great choice of activities to experience during your stay. Don't have your own equipment or don't care to bring it with you? Shepherdstown Pedal & Paddle is the place to go to rent bikes, kayaks, canoes, or tubes. They have a lot of options available and can often facilitate transportation for your outing as well. As of this writing, we have a limited supply of discount coupons, so if you're interested in using their services, please let us know and well leave one for you!”

“Across the river in our neighbor, Shepherdstown, WV, Town Run Taphouse and Community Pub is another on our frequently visited list. The college-town restaurant makes its home along the train tracks in a former Southern States store and the rustic feel of old lingers today. Our favorites here include the sweet potato fries (ask for the horseradish sauce for dipping) and the build-your-own burgers made with locally-sourced beef. Some of their other pluses are the kids play area, arcade games, and a summer beer garden.”
