“Gorgeous setting on a bend in the River Severn in Shrewsbury opposite the Quarry (Shrewsbury's lovely big park). Lots of seating outside for all types of customers, cocktails for the younger crowd and quiet places for the older people wanted a good quality meal out in a fun place. Can get busy in the summer. Like all good restaurants in Shrewsbury in the evenings, best to book a table in advance.”

“A cosy cocktail bar in the heart of Shrewsbury, inspired by the 1920’s prohibition era, where speakeasies flourished underground, evading the laws forbidding the sale of alcohol under the pretence of a tiger show - www.theblindtigerbar.co.uk/”

“This is a great bar especially if you like a wide choice of real ale. The food here is also great. Best to book but you can often get a table without booking. Also has nice outdoor area overlooking the river.”

“The lion + pheasant's food is simply delicious, full of flavour and from the heart. Harri Alun Williams, and his brigade, cook with innovation using the finest produce from Shropshire and beyond. The restaurant's à la carte menu offers the opportunity to enjoy beautiful seasonal flavours using the many skills of the team. The à la carte menu is complimented with a comprehensive wine list, showcasing wines from all over the world. This, with the friendly service are the ingredients of many memorable dining experiences at the lion + pheasant restaurant.”

“We have included this here mainly for its garden. Probably the nicest of any in Shrewsbury town centre. A great place to enjoy an alfresco drink. But also try The Olive Tree on Frankwell Island . A little further to walk but lovely. Also great tapas food at the Olive Tree.”

“Modern Australian cuisine combines Pacific Rim flavours, underpinned by European cooking tradition. A blend of Indonesian, South East Asian influences and Australia's strong ties with Japan also help determine the taste and style.”

“It's a traditional real ale pub rather than a bar. Always busy and no music so everybody talks! Outdoor beer garden at the back as well.”
