“Often voted Sitka's best restaurant, this place is amazingly delicious. It's so popular you might have to make reservations to get in-- it's often packed so plan ahead! If you can't get into Ludvig's main restaurant, try Rio's tapas wine bar upstairs. Nothing beats sitting on the balcony sipping wine, eating wonderful tapas, and watching the sunset. ”

“Mean Queen is definitely the local bar and pizza hang out. Although there's other pizza in town, Mean Queen has gourmet flavors and the thin, stove cooked crust. They also do Gluten Free crust! Their salads are huge. Their cocktails are delicious. BBQ and buffalo wings are addictive. Ask what the daily $3 tap beer is. Mean Queen often holds community activities, so if you're interested in seeing a music show, attending a community open mic, or dancing to a DJ, check out Mean Queen! Beautiful views of the water, mountains, incoming fishing vessels, and the bridge. ”

Zoo
“See brown and black bears up close! Learn about bear safety and fun facts. If you come during a feeding you can see them react to sign language and perform tricks. The bears were all abandoned and orphaned as cubs, so they wouldn't be able to survive in the wild. The bears live in converted pulp mill silos. It's argued that is attraction raises bear awareness, understanding, and helps prevent unfortunate interactions. Not very walkable from the Airbnb. You'll need to take the bus, a taxi, or rent a car. ”

“We love Beak! A delicious Alaska focused sit-down restaurant that especially features local seafood, but also includes vegetarian and non-seafood options. Alaska Sustainable Fisheries Trust partners with Beak for many community events. They are an integral part of the Sitka community. Beak and Renee have won multiple awards for best business and restaurant. Plus, they're located below the local radio station! If you're not into tipping don't worry, Beak does accept tips! Get the salmon chowder or mac and cheese with reindeer sausage! Sit outside on the porch on a nice day. It has some of the best outdoor eating views in Sitka! They also do interesting donut flavors for weekend brunch. ”

“Surprising full museum that not only shows you the religious artifacts from local Russian bishops and religious figures, it also has the room set up like the bishop left it, and it has diagrams and videos about Sitka during the time of the Russians. ”
