“A must see if you want to learn about how Vik managed before the raod was completed. A lgreat little film before hand and then you can walk all around the 100 year old shipwreck that service Vik and the surrounding islands”

“Laufskálavarða is a lava ridge, surrounded by stone cairns, between Hólmsá and Skálmá rivers, close road nr. 1 north of Álftaver. All travellers crossing the desert of Mýrdalssandur for the first time were supposed to pile stones to make a cairn, which would bring them good fortune on the journey.”

“Dverghamrar (Dwarf Rocks) is to be found a few kilometers east of Kirkjubæjarklaustur by the road 1. Dverghamar are peculiar and beautiful formations of columnar basalt. The site is a protected natural monument.”

“Take a look at Reykjavík City Library website, www.borgarbokasafn.is. Gerduberg is one of six Culture Houses run by the City Library. There are sometimes great exhbitions, concerts and more. There is a cozy library and a café as well.”
