You will find the pod has a tactile, calming quality to its appearance. The accommodation sleeps two adults for a perfect romantic getaway. Stargazing from your bed is an option, however the porthole can be covered from the inside if you wish to have a lie in. This special accommodation is in a child-free/pet free area in a sheltered corner of the paddock, with its own eating area and plenty of free parking. The Pod is deceivingly spacious and unique, inside is an exclusive experience, an opportunity not to be missed. The accommodation includes a microwave, small fridge, kettle, toaster, sandwich maker.

The room is equipped with a rain shower, WC, heated towel rail, and washbasin. Alcove shelving provides space for personal items, or you can light tealight candles to create a distinctively spa-like feel. (Note: there is a step up into the Wet Room from the hallway.) Bedroom Three (bunkbed room) Overlooking the front garden, the bunkbed room is a fabulous room for children, with lots of space to sleep and play. The room has a play table and chairs, an A-frame blackboard with chalks, a mini rocking horse and a pirate’s toy castle! It is a bright and airy room, but blackout blinds as well as curtains will ensure a good night’s sleep! The bedroom has a wardrobe with chest of drawers, which also houses the iron and ironing board. The second wardrobe is an airing cupboard where guests will find a travel cot, baby changing mat and clothes airer. At the top of the stairs is a delightful seating area, with a two-seater sofa, double pouf, table and lamp. Guidebook: Chipping Norton In this Guidebook section we head over to Chipping Norton, just 8 miles from The Quail House. Tucked high up in Oxfordshire’s portion of the Cotswolds, Chipping Norton is a beautiful market town with an enviable reputation. It is the highest town in the region thanks to its stunning hillside location, with a rich history dating back to the 13th Century when it was known as a bustling wool-trading town; a heritage proven through the great wool church of St. Mary, known for its stunning interiors, and still sitting proudly at the heart of the town. Affectionately known by locals as ‘Chippy’, the town is now very much a bustling hub of culture; its thriving retail and culinary scene attracting visitors from all across the Cotswolds. A general market still takes place every Wednesday, and a Farmer’s Market is held on the morning of every third Saturday. The town is great for anyone looking to hunt for some local treats, with a plethora of independent retailers and antique shops to peruse. The town also has a good number of pubs, restaurants and cafes, whilst culture buffs will love the thriving theatre; a rare addition to a town of this size, famous for its annual pantomime and eclectic programme of music, theatre, dance and comedy. During the summer months, you can enjoy the Lido, a heated, open air, 25m pool (see below). Perfectly positioned to explore the north Cotswolds and Oxfordshire, there’s plenty on offer right on the doorstep to keep all ages entertained. Head off on an exploration of the pretty Cotswold villages which surround the town or take a cultural daytrip to nearby Oxford or Stratford-Upon-Avon; the possibilities are endless. Sightseeing & Activities Thanks to Chipping Norton’s rich heritage, there’s plenty on offer locally to see and do for culture vultures and history buffs alike. Start off by exploring the landmarks of the town itself. Take in the beautiful Town Hall (a proud symbol of the town’s former borough days), before visiting the Almshouses – one of the town’s key landmarks dating back to the first half of the 1600s, provided kindly by former resident Henry Cornish upon his death to house widows of the town. Chipping Norton Museum, located on the High Street, showcases memorable artefacts from throughout the town’s history dating all the way back to the Roman period, making it a great pit-stop for those keen to learn more about the town through the ages. Chipping Norton Theatre is also a must-visit, should there be anything that tickles your fancy playing during your stay. Further afield, the many sights and attractions of the wider Cotswolds will afford you plenty to see and do. Start off by heading to The Rollright Stones, an ancient stone circle spanning nearly 2,000 years of Neolithic and Bronze Age development located in the nearby village of Great Rollright. Just outside the town sits Bliss Tweed Mill, an impressive display of 19th Century manufacturing prowess, immediately recognisable by its iconic dome-based chimney, which makes it look more like a lavish mansion than a tweed mill. Now luxury apartments following its official closure in the 1980s, the mill is still well worth driving past as one of the town’s most famous visual landmarks. The National Trust’s Chastleton House and Garden, an ancient country house spanning 400 years of history, is also just a stone’s throw away in Moreton-in-Marsh, whilst the acclaimed Whichford Pottery is just a 15-minute drive for those in search of a pretty souvenir from their travels. For Kids (little and big) Blenheim Palace Home to the 12th Duke of Marlborough and family, and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace is a spectacular masterpiece of architecture sure to wow visitors of all ages. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, there’s plenty to see and do here: explore the Palace and its priceless collections; amble through the stunning park and gardens; get stuck in at the Family Forest School or check out the Palace’s busy schedule of events and attractions, running throughout the year. The Lido A fantastic heated outdoor pool in Chipping Norton, open from April to September each year, with lifeguards on duty and a snack bar offering tasty treats after a refreshing dip. Perfect for when those hot, sunny Cotswold days come knocking. With its heated 25m pool, The Lido is an oasis in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. Whether you’re a serious swimmer clocking up the lengths in our early morning sessions or a family looking for an afternoon’s outdoor fun, The Lido has something for everyone. Whichford Pottery Home of the world-famous Whichford Pottery, where beautiful flowerpots have been hand-crafted here in the Cotswolds for over 40 years, you can meet the makers in the bustling workshop and take inspiration from their stunning garden, before choosing your own memento to take home. Chastleton House and Gardens An ancient country house with beautiful surrounding gardens, acting as a time-capsule of family life spanning an impressive 400 years. Built between 1607 and 1612, this rare gem of a Jacobean country house was owned by the same family until 1991, when it had largely remained unchanged. It now offers a fascinating insight into years gone by. Time to Relax Bamford Haybarn Spa, Daylesford A beautiful wellness retreat at the acclaimed Daylesford Farm Shop, offering a range of pampering massage, facial and stress reduction treatments with an emphasis on the use of a holistic approach to wellbeing. Pick up some luxurious Bamford Bath & Body products whilst you’re there, all made in England using natural, responsibly sourced, organic ingredients. Cowshed Spa, Soho Farmhouse A members and guests-only paradise at the famed Soho Farmhouse. Relax with a pampering massage, manicure or pedicure, unwind in the steam room, sauna and hot tubs or take a refreshing dip in the indoor pool; with all treatments undertaken with the famed Cowshed Spa toiletry range. The Spa at Barnsley House For the ultimate in luxury, look no further than Barnsley House – an iconic hotel tucked away in the picturesque Cotswold village of Barnsley – where a dedicated spa hidden in the gardens offers all visitors a truly memorable day of R&R. The glass-walled spa really is the ultimate in luxury retreats, boasting an outdoor heated hydrotherapy pool, herbaceous sauna and indoor/outdoor lounge relaxation areas. For Nature Lovers Batsford Arboretum The 56-acre arboretum at Batsford is situated just a mile west of the historic market town of Moreton-in-Marsh in the heart of the Cotswolds. A former home to the famous Mitford family, interest in the arboretum begins in late winter when the snowdrops, aconites and early flowering daffodils spring into life, followed by magnolias, hellebores, fritillaries and the beautiful Japanese ornamental cherries – stars of the show from late March until mid-April. The handkerchief tree is another showstopper in May, as are the beautiful wildflower meadows which bloom in high summer. Hidcote Manor Garden One of the finest Arts and Crafts gardens in the country, Hidcote was created by American horticulturist Major Lawrence Johnston circa 1905. Very clean bungalow, very quiet area. 20 minute drive from Bicester shopping village and 30 minute drive into the city however train takes 8 minutes. Train times attached. There is also a direct bus route. Tackley train station is a 3 minute drive away. Local pub also serves food and friendly environment. Lots of country walking routes. The bedroom has a double bed and Tv as well as hanging rail for clothes.
The North Oxfordshire village of Tackley lies in the Cherwell Valley, 8 miles North of Oxford and just 3 miles from the town of Woodstock. The name Tackley is probably derived from ‘tack’ (from the pre 7th century Danish ‘tacca’), meaning sheep or ewes, and the Anglo-Saxon ‘leah’ (-ley), meaning a glade, clearing or enclosure. As we often have sheep in the fields in the middle of the village it’s good to see that some things don’t change. Tackley has a great sense of community, most effectively demonstrated by the community run village shop. The village has a main line railway station, with regular trains to and from Banbury, Oxford and London, and is about 1 mile from the Oxford Canal. As you enter the village you pass St Nicholas Church, which has been there since Saxon times. A traditional green with a fine old oak tree forms the centre of the village. Tackley is a mixture of old cottages, converted buildings and modern houses, and a population of just under 1,000 residents.

We are organic farmers and have a lovely cottage in a picturesque cotswold-stone village. In the past the cottage accommodated international volunteers (WWOOFers) coming to help on the farm in the summer. Usually we only do Airbnb in the winter but this year we are taking a break from hosting volunteers and will be offering the cottage right through the summer. The rooms are simple, basic and clean. We offer a range of good quality breakfast supplies with milk and yoghurt from the farm.

Set in our garden amidst beautiful Oxfordshire countryside on the edge of the Cotswolds, Forge cottage offers a wonderfully relaxing, calm and peaceful space for 2 people to enjoy. We have worked hard to create the kind of environment that we would love to stay in ourselves. Lower Heyford is a great location for so much to do and enjoy in the local area, wonderful Blenheim Palace on our doorstep,a train station in the village with good service into Oxford and easy access to the M40.
Entrance is through a gate adjacent to our house for exclusive use by our guests. We recommend that guests park along the quiet road here. An enclosed courtyard space with table and chairs makes a lovely sunny spot for a morning coffee or glass of wine in the evening. The entrance to the cottage opens into a well equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle and nespresso machine. We provide essentials including tea, coffee, milk and sugar as well as a complimentary basket of fresh award winning sourdough bread from our own microbakery, preserves, marmalade and usually some fresh brownies, as well as orange juice, butter, local organic milk and eggs. French doors open onto the main garden , table and chairs and BBQ which guest are very welcome to use. The bathroom and toilet are located to the right hand side of the front door off the kitchen. There are beautiful handmade terracotta floor tiles throughout the downstair areas which are wonderfully cool in the summer and the welcome underfloor heating and woodburning stove in the living room ensure it is cosy in the winter. The living area itself is light and airy being the full height of the cottage with a vaulted ceiling and a mezzanine level above, where the bedroom is located. Steep 'space saving' stairs lead off the kitchen near the french doors to the bedroom with a hatch style opening. Though the bedroom mezzanine area is in the roof of the cottage with sloping ceiling it is spacious and comfortable.
The property has easy access to Rousham Hall (10 minute walk away), Blenheim Palace and Woodstock just a 10 minute drive away. Take leisurely strolls on the towpath along the canal or stride out across the rolling Oxfordshire countryside to seek out cosy pubs.

Merci beaucoup, Debra!

Kate and Carl weclome you to Black Barn Cottage, a comfortable, ground-floor studio with en-suite facilities built in 2017. It's an ideal base for visiting the Cotswolds, Oxford, Blenheim Palace, Silverstone and Stratford-upon-Avon, or relaxing after a day's shopping in Bicester Village. The cottage is located on our smallholding at the edge of the picturesque village of Steeple Aston.
We have designed and furnished Black Barn Cottage with your comfort and convenience in mind. Much of the work has been carried out by local crafts people and we have used reclaimed materials where possible. Prepare a meal from tasty local ingredients, then relax in front of a film, or curl up with a book in the cozy sitting area. Please let us know if you prefer 2 twin beds, or a double bed.
Steeple Aston is an ancient settlement with roots going back to Roman times, maybe earlier. Today, with a population of around 1,000, it is a busy village with plenty to see and do. The village has its own shop and Post Office, Harris Stores, and a traditional pub and restaurant, the Red Lion. Steeple Aston is surrounded by the farmland of the Cherwell Valley, where many footpaths and bridleways provide access to beautiful views across the water meadows where the river, the Oxford Canal and the railway come together. Keen cyclists will enjoy the undulating landscape. There is plenty of wildlife to be seen. Kingfishers can be spotted by the river and canal and a wide variety of birds visit our smallholding and the surrounding fields.

A spiral stair to downstairs leads to living space with desk, small galley kitchen and big private bathroom with bath and shower. The family are nearby and share the garden and the driveway- but leave you in peace and the village has a pub, a restaurant and a shop.
The garden is reserved for the family but it provides a peaceful backdrop to your space - with a beautiful view!
We have a friendly village with good access to Oxford, Banbury, Bicester, the Cotswolds and trains to London

We have two rooms available, next to each other. Room 2 is a comfortable and cosy room with a double bed and a sofa. We are surrounded by great Pubs and restaurants that we would be happy to recommend, including Soho Farmhouse a small 5-10 minute drive away.
Our rooms are comfortable and well presented. The rooms have lovely outlooks and our house is next to wonderful countryside walks with amazing views! There is a snug lounge for our guests. Offering T.V. B.T. Infinity for viewing movies etc and a wide selection of DVD's.
Our village is a small one on the edge of two valleys, amazing views and walks. The next village which is a mile away and can be walked has pubs and restaurants so you have no need to drive.

Short walk to Tackley train station with great links into London, Oxford and the Cotswolds. Lots of country walks, pubs and a few miles to Blenheim Palace, Woodstock and Bicester Retail Village.
The annexe is located in an idyllic village in the Cotswolds, it is perfectly situated for visiting Oxford City, Blenheim Palace and the Cotswolds. The self-contained annexe was renovated from a triple garage in 2016 and so everything is brand new, modern & bright and set within a beautiful garden which is surrounded by fields. It offers a spacious open plan living area with table tennis and darts, kitchenette and a comfy sofabed that sleeps two, a large TV and a separate toilet with sink. The bedroom is located on the first floor and has amazing views of the Oxfordshire countryside. It features a Kingsize bed, side cabinets, chest of drawers and plenty of wardrobe space. The en-suite bathroom has a bath with shower, toilet and sink.
Tackley is a picture perfect small Cotswolds village with church, train station, school, shop and pub. You can walk through a gate at the end of the garden through the fields and down in to the village and stop for a drink in the local pub before making the return!
  • Vraiment propre, bien présenté. Lit incroyablement confortable!

We are organic farmers and our cottage accommodation is simple and basic. In the summer, the cottage is home to our WWOOFers, who are volunteers from all over the world who come to help us on the farm. Out of season, we have vacant rooms and it is these rooms that are on offer. We will provide you with breakfast supplies including organic milk and yoghurt from the farm. The price is for two guests with a supplementary fee for additional guests.
The cottage is on the road through the village but it is not a busy road. There is parking behind the cottage at the end of the wild garden, with a natural unpaved path leading to the door. There are a couple of steps down to the door. If you are a walker there is a good porch for muddy boots and outdoor clothes.
The cottage is in a pretty Cotswold-stone village, close to the historic university town of Oxford and the nearby picturesque Cotswolds. There are a range of places to eat within a couple miles.
