  • Our family of 4 stayed at Christine's apartment for a week and it was brilliant. The position is perfect, being just a 1 minute walk to the village centre at Stow, a 5 minute drive to Bourton-on-the-Water and 5 minute drive to Moreton-in-Marsh. The apartment was spacious and very clean and contained everything we needed. Tesco is nearby. The car park was handy too. Christine was always responsive and was nearby if we needed anything. We highly recommend this apartment for a relaxing break or as a base to explore the Cotswolds for up to 6 people.

  • Accurate listing and great location. The apartment was pretty much perfect for our needs. We didn't meet Christine until we were leaving but when our taxi failed to show up, she so very kindly drove us to the train station and saved the day!

  • We had a wonderful time staying at Christine's beautiful place (4 adults and my two little children). It is situated right in the centre of Stow on the Wold. Immaculately presented and we were welcomed with some little treats. We would recommend this place to anyone.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Christine's place. It was clean, well looked after and had plenty of room for our group of 6 adults. It is situated right in the heart of Stow, minutes walk from shops, restaurants and pubs. We would highly recommend staying here!

  • Our stay at Christine's place was everything we hoped it would be. It was in a perfect location to explore Stow-on-the-Wold, and a short journey to many great sights in the Cotswolds. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The only thing I regret is that we did not stay a few more nights there.

    Paul2015-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is excellent, clean and tidy Great location. Highly recommended!

  • The flat was immaculate, comfortable and very convenient. It was beautifully kept and we were made very welcome with a cake left and milk in the fridge. An en suite in each of the three rooms is a treat when you have six people staying. The flat is right in the village so you have lovely little shops right out your front door. I would definitely recommend this home to any of my friends and family who wanted to be in the cotswold area!!!

  • Spacious place with the benefit of ensuites in all rooms (no shower in master bedroom). Very close to shops and restaurants in a lovely village.

  • We cannot think of anything that would have made our stay in Stow better. The cottage is beautifully appointed, Cat has impeccable taste. Special touches like the plush robes and slippers and locally made chocolates were much appreciated. Cat left fresh breakfast supplies for us and was always happy to give us plenty of recommendations on where to visit and the best local eateries of which there are several great options only a stone's throw away. We highly recommend to anyone considering staying here that they do. Many thanks Cat.

  • Cat and JP were great hosts during our time in Stow-on-the-Wold, and thoroughly deserve their Superhost status. They were super kind and very helpful when it came to recommendations on where to go and what to do. We stayed in both the Rooms Above and Little House during our time there and both were fantastic. We would highly recommend staying at either property as they are perfectly located as a base from which to explore Stow and the surrounding villages. We will definitely be back!

  • Reuben's Cottage is beautiful, charming and in a great location. Your private space at the top of the house is excellent with bedroom, en suite and lounge. Everything was spotless and service was faultless. Loads of added comforts - coffee, fridge, tv, wifi, books galore, etc. The lovely Catriona and JP are there if you need them. It's up to you just how private or sociable you want to be. We spent two lovely days and would love to come again and highly recommend this accommodation. Charlie and Vicky from Chorlton Manchester.

Helped us get oriented to the Cotswolds and assisted us in finding whatever we were looking for. Stow on the Wold is the best place to visit and the Cottage is perfectly located. • Su was an a fantastic and welcoming host. She has made a incredible effort in ensuring the room is equipped with everything you can think of. The room itself is cosy and very private. Lovely stone feature wall and luxury ensuite bathroom. Su's place is right in the centre of town, ideal for a stay in stow: only a hop, step and jump to a variety of great restaurants and pubs and an easy gateway to walking in the cotswalds.

  • I booked this place as a surprise for my wife’s birthday. She loves cool and quirky spaces and we found just the right one here. We were warmly welcomed by Cat and John at Reuben’s Cottage and after a lovely chat, shown through to the Little House. We entered through a wooden barn door and into the living area of the Little House. Cat showed us to the wet room that was concealed behind a sliding door and had an amazing rainfall shower head! On the table was a loaf of local bread presented in a basket & a selection of homemade (fresh from their allotment) jams, cereals and some cookies to enjoy with the tea and coffee provided. Up the narrow stairs, it leads to the sleeping area that has beams across the ceiling, complete with the comfiest bed I’ve slept in, in quite a while. There is a smart tv if you need it. There are good, local, restaurants nearby and pubs that are well worth a visit. The village square has a host of shops and it is nearby to other nice Cotswold towns and villages. I would recommend asking your lovely hosts for places to visit, locals know best! We will be back!

The place was just as described, and more than expected, and their warm hospitality, and spot on recommwndations made our stay in the Cotswolds simply unforgettable. • Wonderful stay at The Little House. From the photos it looks lovely but it doesn't quite capture how amazing it is. It is such a romantic little hideaway and as all the previous reviews have mentioned, the hosts are very helpful and welcoming. All of the little touches go a long way to making it feel extra special. Would definitely recommend it to others.

  • We had a great stay at Nicky's place in Stow in the Wold. The Apt was cosy, comfortable, and practical. Nicky left use some provisions for breakfast which made our first morning very easy. There are restaurants nearby which within a couple minute walk. Just a fantastic stay and we would love to return to Nicky's place should we be back in the Cotswolds again!

  • This was part of a two week stay booked as two separate weeks, so the review is the same as the other review we left. The accommodation is in a perfect location, close to the high street including many pubs. The accommodation is very homely with a great amount of kitchen utensils to make the perfect dinner. We have made use of the sofa bed which is very comfortable and also the two bedrooms are very spacious with comfortable double beds in each. Nicky is a great host, making sure we arrived safely and were happy with everything.

    Laure2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lizzie's cottage in Stow-On-The-Wold was the perfect spot for our family! It is a beautiful English cottage right in the heart of the village center. The charm and character is typically English and we loved it from the minute we walked up to the beautiful front entrance. The cottage was spacious enough for five of us and it really felt like home thanks to Lizzie's little home-like details throughout the cottage. We loved sitting out in the courtyard in the morning and then taking a morning walk through the village, right outside the door! There is a great pub across the street which serves delicious food, we went there a few times as they serve food all day. Lizzie was great at communicating with us if we had any questions and gave us many recommendations for good eats and we have to say we had our best meal ever (or in a really long time!) at The Feathered Nest, amazing! We also had amazing spa treatments and lunch at Daylesford Organic farm, such a treat! All in all, the cottage is amazing, Lizzie was fantastic...always available for questions and she gave amazing suggestions! We loved the cottage and will definitely be back! T Thanks, Lizzie!

  • Lizzie provided extremely clear instructions regarding the access. The home was immaculately prepared for our arrival; it was clean, beautiful, with fresh flowers, food and even a bottle of wine. Everything worked perfectly in the house, and the neighbourhood is in a terrific location to explore Cotswolds. We had a few wonderful dinners at the nearby pubs and were lucky enough to experience the monthly morning market at the town central (a 5 minute walk away). Our group of 5 adults had an incredibly comfortable and unforgettable stay.

  • Bottle of wine & a pint of milk in the fridge on arrival was a nice touch.House was clean & tidy & suited our needs. Proximity to town is great with a short walk to a nice selection of restaurants or a chippy if you prefer. It's in a quiet location set back off a busy little road used cut through in peak times but didn't affect us. Good nights sleep was welcomed from a comfy bed. All in all a good find & we will look to use it again as like I said it suited us just fine.

It's also situated Not too far from some wonderful places to visit. We especially loved the little townships of Broadway, Lower Slaughter and Bourton on the Water. Plus Stratford Upon Avon is an easy drive and great for a fun filled day trip. Steve & Nicala were extremely prompt and helpful with any queries we had. • 'Amber Cottage' was a delightful home away from home, in a secluded spot that was easy and close to the action of High and Sheep street. It was cosy and comfortable and had everything we needed. Steve was an excellent communicator and made the airbnb experience straightforward and easy. Thanks Steve and Nicala, we would love to return one day!

  • Great place. Every modern convenience and we felt very spoilt. We didn't have the best weather for our stay, but we were warm and cosy and very comfortable inside.

  • What a great place; literally 3 min walk to Stow town with all its wonderful cafes, shops, restaurants and pubs. Jessica's place is very modern and incredibly well decorated and maintained, the photos really don't do it justice! We travelled with a four month old and it had everything we needed (including a great baby cot on demand). Jessica made the whole process so easy and flexible - can't wait to stay here again!!

  • Wonderful place to stay in Stow. Location is quiet but also in the centre of Stow. The cottage is clean, tidy and new with a clever design. The beds were beautifully comfortable and all the little touches made all the difference. Thanks for the small 'welcome package' on our arrival. This accomodation is highly recommended.

  • Wow! What a wonderful stay at Stow on the Wold. This was our first stay through airbnb. Jessica has set a high bar. The cottage was a perfect balance of modern and cosy. Quiet bedrooms with soft beds, a comfy living room, a well appointed bathroom and a beautiful kitchen....what more could you ask for? We almost forgot that amazing pubs, restaurants, bakeries and shops were only seconds away in beautiful Stow. We had a hard time leaving the comforts of New Loos Cottage. Moreover, Jessica made us feel pampered. Greeted with wine and fudge we thought we had jumped the queue. We truly felt Jessica went above and beyond. Jessica provided clear instructions through and through. Check in was a breeze. Jessica let us know that she would be there to provide answers if needed. There was never a need. We will be definitely be telling our friends about New Loos Cottage. Thank you Jessica for helping create a memorable experience at Stow. Cheers, Graham

Our Grade 2 listed home is a 2 minute walk to the beautiful and historic town square of Stow with it's 11 pubs and wonderful eateries. Reuben's Cottage has a contemporary and warm feel. Filled with an eclectic mix of furnishings from our travels you also have a peep through the windows to the Church Tower made famous by it's Tolkien connection . We have thought of every detail to ensure your stay at Reuben's is comfortable and cosy with many extra luxuries awaiting! Nearby parking is free.
Reuben's Cottage is a 17th Century Grade 2 listed townhouse in the heart of the town. It has the wonderful charm of this period mixed with the contemporary decor and the many eclectic pieces from our world travels. You can laze in our little green haven of flowers and shrubs in the back patio garden or stroll out and within a few minutes of our door be in the middle of the square with its wonderful boutique shops and character restaurants and pubs, along with the usual amenities one needs such as supermarkets, chemists and a post office; all in walking distance of Reuben's Cottage We do not have private parking but there is free residential on street parking nearby
Stow on the Wold is one of the most favoured places in England to visit. It is steeped in wonderful history It is also a great stop to use to embark on many beautiful country walks with the quintessential stone cottage villages surrounding the town and the pubs and restaurants are a great way to rest and eat after a day walking!
  • This is a beautiful home right in the heart of Stow in the Wold - it's lovely to be able to walk out the door and have plenty of shops and pubs to explore. On arriving we were greeted with fresh bread and flowers and there was an abundance of fresh towels and toiletries - all of a very good quality. The property's layout really suited us as there was a bathroom and bedroom per floor so would be ideal for couples sharing or families with older children. The location, being incredibly central, meant there was some traffic noise but this subsides by nighttime. We've all said we'd recommend it to friends/ family as we enjoyed staying there so much! Thanks again

Our cottage is situated in a secluded garden, a few minutes walk from the centre of Stow-on-the-Wold with its wide selection of pubs, restaurants and shops - it provides very comfortable accomodation in a traditional setting with all "mod cons".
Inside the heavy oak front door, the large open plan living room is light and sunny with rustic oak floorboards, stone hearth, log burning stove and French doors leading into the garden. The designer Italian kitchen island - a contemporary mix of granite and wood worktops with inset ceramic hob, double sink with spray taps, gas oven, wine cooler, dishwasher and huge Smeg fridge-freezer - is a stylish addition. The brand new oak staircase leads to a landing area, with a French door leading onto the large oak balcony with wide steps down to it's own private terrace. The cosy double and twin bedrooms have comfy beds and modern en-suites - one with a large shower and the other with a superb enamelled bath with Perrin & Rowe taps and shower.
Park House Cottage is situated a few minutes walk from the centre of the ancient Cotswolds wool town of Stow-on-the-Wold with its old market square, stocks on the green and wide selection of pubs, restaurants and specialist shops.
  • The cottage was just as described, very cozy and clean. The small spiral staircase was not so easy to encounter but the outside large wooden stairs were essential but not so good in the cold and rain. Stow is a lovely town and the choice of restaurants, things to see and do is endless. Lovely quiet location and hospitable hosts. We had a great time.

  • The cottage is in a perfect location for exploring the Cotswolds and beyond. Stow-on-Wold is a charming little town with easy access to places including Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwick and Oxford. Although Park House Cottage has no allocated parking, we had no problem in parking on the road outside, despite visiting in the height of the summer season. Nick and Jenny were welcoming hosts and ensured we had everything we needed for an enjoyable week. The cottage is the perfect size for up to 4 people with both bedrooms having their own bathrooms. The kitchen is well-equipped and the furnishings very comfortable; a real home-from-home. The gardens are stunning and each time we stepped through the gate from the main road it seemed almost magical - from the hustle and bustle of the tourist filled streets to our own peaceful haven of tranquility. We would thoroughly recommend Park House Cottage as the perfect base to explore the beautiful Cotswolds.

  • The cottage was amazing -- so very charming, clean, spacious yet cozy. It was a wonderful and romantic place to stay. The location was an oasis within a beautiful garden set back from the street, yet just steps away from shops and restaurants. They allowed us an 11:00 checkout (instead of their usual 10:30) which helped a lot. There was good text/email communication via Nick and Jenny prior to our arrival. We didn't meet Nick once there, just Jenny for a couple minutes when we arrived to pick up the key. That's the only thing that was a bit odd---our welcome. It was rather frosty and brusque. Everyone has their off days, so I'm going to chalk it up to that. But, otherwise it was a great place to stay!

    Ryan2015-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the Park House Cottage. Even though it was in the heart of Stow, it was extremely quiet. Surrounded by gardens, the roomy cottage had everything that you could possibly need for a wonderful stay. A wonderful surprise was the welcome package of staples so we didn't have to go shopping after a long day of hiking. The water pressure and hot water were first rate as well!

    Shannon2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Nicholas's place was exactly as described. In fact, the photos don't do it justice. The cottage décor is absolutely charming and the outside garden area is stunning. Next to the charms, comfort and beauty of the cottage and cottage garden area, the town of Stow is lovely. Above all, the location was exactly what we were looking for. While the cottage is located right in the centre of town, the courtyard garden setting provides space, privacy and tranquility. And right from our doorstep we were able to easily access lovely walks into the Cotswold countryside. One of our favourites was an 11 mile round walk that took us through Bourton-on-the-Water and Lower Slaughter and back to Stow.

  • Jenny and Nick were great hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. The cottage was perfect for my husband and me. It is brilliantly located with shops and restaurants/pubs within walking distance but still feels secluded and quiet. Worth a stay!

  • An absolutly charming cottage in the heart of the cotswolds. You enter off the main street to a private shared courtyard and lovely garden. True english charm. A wonderfully equipted kitchen to meet any of your cooking needs. Jenny and Nick made us feel right at home and were charming and knowledgable hosts. Would love to come back in a heartbeat.

  • Most recommendable for a quiet stay in the center of Stow. Immaculate and very well maintained by Nick and Jenny who make you feel very welcome. The spiral staircase takes some getting used to but the big external one makes up for this. Lovely quite and private garden as well. Would recommend to anyone looking for a cosy place to stay in the Cotswolds

At nearly 800 feet, Stow is the highest of the Gloucestershire Cotswolds towns and famous as a centre for antiques. The town radiates from the impressive market square, surrounded by Cotswold stone buildings. There is a good selection of specialist shops, cosy cafés and inns to enjoy. Stow has a fascinating history, with the market square once host to some of the Cotswolds’ largest sheep fairs, with up to 20,000 sheep herded into the square for sale. The medieval Market Cross and the old stocks give a sense of Stow’s early history. Stow had a significant role in the English Civil War – it was at nearby Donnington that the last battle was fought in 1646. St Edward’s Church was used as a prison for the defeated Royalist troops and is well worth a visit. Stow is also home to England’s oldest inn, The Porch House, as well as a great choice of other places to eat in the town. (URL HIDDEN)

Located in the north Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold is one of the principal market towns in the region. The main feature of the town is the historic market square which used to play host to the annual sheep fairs where, at the height of the Cotswold wool industry, up to 20,000 sheep were sold at one time. The market square is steeped in history and has two features which date back to the medieval period. At one end of the square there is the medieval cross which was erected to urge traders to carry out fair business under the eyes of God, and at the far end stand the town stocks which are found in the shadows of the old elm tree. Originally known as Edwardstow or Stow St Edward after the town's patron saint Edward, the town's church is also named after him. The church is just 100 yards from the town square and is a lovely place for locals and tourists alike to get some peace from the bustling market square. The north door is guarded by two yew trees and is a focal point of the town. Stow has traditional narrow alleyways, or "tures" as they were once known, which wind their way through the centre of the town. It is these same alleyways that were once used to channel the sheep to the fair. Another point of interest in the town is the well in Well Lane which is now a Grade II Listed Building. As a result of the rather unique geology of the area, water held in the higher layers of the limestone bursts out of various fissures on the slopes and two do still work as wells now.
  • We stayed with friends at Masters Cottage and had a great stay. It is a fantastic location in the centre of Stow-on-the-Wold, close to all the shops and restaurants. The property had everything you could ask for. We would highly recommend and would be happy to use the property again.

  • Our stay at Susie and Ben's lovely house was superb. They both could not have been more welcoming. The accommodation layout and facilities were excellent much better than those in the hotel our other friends were staying in. Very quiet, clean and comfortable. Our breakfast options were superb with all choices but I would recommend the full English breakfast great start to our journey home. I would recommend this lovely B & B which has the added benefit of off street parking. I know myself and my husband will be back this year. Good luck Susie and Ben it was a pleasure to meet you both.

  • Great location and a wonderful house. 3 couples and 3 infants with plenty of space. Garden not really big enough for the children to run around in but plenty of parkland nearby.

  • A really comfortable, characterful property. A great welcome from the hosts too, and a quick response to questions. The kitchen, eating area and lounge were well set out and made for an easy, sociable time. Beds were very comfortable and bathrooms well appointed and sparkling clean. The central location in Stow meant there was plenty to do, even on a drizzly day. We also walked from the door into the country, including to several attractive pubs! We would happily return.

  • Nick and Jenny are beyond great hosts...they are exceptional! Nick is extremely prompt in replying to all inquiries and makes every effort to make sure you have everything you need. He was unable to meet us upon our arrival, but allowed us early access with clear direction on how to get in. He then followed up later that day with an email to say he was sorry he had not been able to greet us! He not only makes recommendations on where to dine, but makes the reservation for you! He recommended an incredible gentleman who drove us to Stonehenge and all throughout the Cotswolds. Now on to the incredible home - so hard to put into accurate words how truly lovely it is. The space is so large and comfortable and open with lots of wonderful natural light. The industrial and vintage touches throughout make one envious and coveting all the fabulous pieces. Both Nick and Jenny have a wonderful eye and it shows in how fantastic the home is decorated. The three full baths are glorious and each room is inviting. The linens and towels are all top quality. The kitchen is a chef's dream. The back garden is tranquil and so cheerful. The wifi is strong and works throughout the very large quarters. I could go on and on - all I can say is that you should stop reading this and book number 10!!! Stowe is a dream location and it was a joy to stay there - only wish I had been able to stay longer!

  • The cottage was exactly as described and appeared on the listing and we had a fabulous trip away. The cottage was located right in the heart of Stow-on-the-wold and was a 10 - 15 minute drive away to several other areas/places of interests. We did a 5 mile walk one day from the cottage to Broadwell and back which was really pleasant. The hosts were great and we was greeted with milk, butter, bread and eggs and given a folder full of informaton about the surrounding area. We bought a toddler with us and can reccomend to any families/group of friends looking for 'home away from home' accomodation

A small comfortable second floor (URL HIDDEN) room have the option to be a Superking or a Twin. The spacious bathroom is 3metres across the landing, with a bath and hand held shower rose for a long soak. Also suits travelling companions and business travellers.
Victoria House is a 19th century former brewers’ house in Stow on the Wold, tastefully converted into 7 luxury boutique rooms and perfectly situated to explore the Cotswolds. All rooms have every little luxury you'd expect from a luxury hotel – complimentary coffee, tea and mineral water, a welcome decanter of sherry, and even Cotswold Fudge, but we don't serve breakfast. Because we are so conveniently situated in the centre of Stow, there are many places to eat and drink minutes and seconds away. We look forward to making your stay a pleasurable and comfortable one.

  • Fantastic location and all mod cons in the cottage. Lovely restaurants all walking distance.

The Crook is a beautiful Grade II listed cottage located in the heart of the market town Stow on the Wold. Sleeping 6 adults and 2 children across 4 bedrooms. The cottage is full of Cotswold Charm: flagstone floors, exposed honey sandstone bricks, old timber beams and wonky floors but modernised to a high contemporary standard with top of the range, well equipped kitchen, wireless internet access, and flat screen televisions.
The house is very old so does have steep stairs, flagstone floors that are not 100% flat, creaky floorboads and some wonky walls. We feel this is part of it's history and charm but this does not appeal to everyone. We would not recommend for anyone with restricted mobility.
Stow on the Wold is a beautiful town, that sits on the top of a hill in the centre of the Cotswolds, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The thriving market town has an abundance of antique and lifestyle shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes. The House is located at the top of Sheep Street, ideally situated a few minutes’ walk from the main town square, the heart of the town. The house has views onto the back of St Edwards Church, whose bells can also often be heard. The house is a perfect base for touring the wider Cotswold's.

  • The cottage was wonderful! Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Gorgeous decadent feather duvets and perfectly pressed sheets! There were so many pubs and places for food within walking distance we didn't use the car all weekend - definitely a plus point. Tatiana was wonderful too; I had cheekily asked last minute if we could check out late to avoid a 4 hour wait at the airport and was told it was absolutely no problem. While I would never hold it against a host if that wasn't possible it really helped end the weekend on such a high note! Thanks again - id definitely return if in that part of England again.

  • I booked the cottage 6 months ago and at the time this listing had good ratings. Since that time I have noticed that the ratings have begun to fall off and I know why. The host was unorganized and had no idea when we were booked to stay. When I called her to let her know we had arrived my call went right to voicemail. After l left a message, she sent me a text saying she as busy and couldn't talk. We decided to run errands while waiting to reach her. She did call us back wanting to know what day were arriving. When I told her we were already there she seemed surprised. When we finally got into the cottage, we noticed right away that the physical space does not match the photos. The furniture was stained and dirty, the walls were also dirty and scuffed up. The rugs are more like rags. They are dirty, stained and physically falling apart. The pillows on the sofa are shredded and the stuffing is showing through. The bathroom has mold growing on the ceiling and in the grout. The shower does not work well nor does the bathtub drain well. The curtain rod in the master bedroom is coming loose and is about to fall. The front door jam is warped, wet and paint is peeling off. The garden front and back has been neglected and full of weeds. The cooktop igniter does not work. We were left one match and a small lighter to attempt to manually light the stove. There is no clothes dryer, no on sight parking and no toiletries as claimed. I am not one of those who needs silk sheets and a mint on my pillow to be content. I can live with basic. However, I do require a clean space with everything in good working order. If I wasn't going to be out over $700 dollars, I would have left and found accommodations elsewhere. And there is plenty of other airbnbs, Bed and Breakfasts, and boutique hotels just steps away., most of which are 30 - 60 dollars cheaper than this place. Tatiana needs to step it up if she wants to get the ridiculous rate that she is asking for a 2 night minimum stay.

    Gina2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the cottage is excellent for access into Stow. The beds were very comfy, it would have been helpful to have hanging space in the bedrooms. In my experience of staying in a lot of Airbnbs for the price I paid I would have expected shower gel to be provided and to have a better equipped kitchen. I was surprised at the cost of cleaning given that it is quite a small property & we were only staying for 2 nights. That said it was a great location for our trip.

  • My family with two small children stayed at this cottage for one night and it was very nice. We had two minor problems with the stovetop and the television, but the cottage was so lovely that we didn't mind at all! The bedrooms and bathroom on the second floor were quite nice and the garden in the back was delightful. I would note that the cottage is located on a busy street where some people speed by and the parking is on the street there, so just keep that in mind if you have small children. It was free, though! The noise from the street was very minimal and the garden behind the cottage was absolutely quiet. I would highly recommend this location to any family or even to a couple or two looking to get away for a weekend!

  • The holiday home was very clean and in good condition. Jenny was very helpful and provided some tips for things to see and places to eat. The house itself is very close to the town centre (5 min walk to the market square) which is a full of nice pubs, restaurants and cafes. The town is a pleasant Cotswolds market town. Great experience.

Set in the heart of this attractive Cotswolds market town, Pike Cottage is a classic property in Stow on the Wold. Arranged over three floors, this historic and characterful cottage is an ideal base for exploring this and other popular Cotswold towns and villages.
Pike Cottage is over 200 years old and, according to local history, was an old tollhouse for the Fosse Way turnpike. They were known as turnpikes as the gate barring the road had upright pikes on the top to deter horsemen from jumping and avoiding the toll, hence the old name of the cottage. The slightly quirky structure of the building lays testament to its history, indeed the old arch gate in Cotswold stone features in a guide to the town. Although much has changed, the floors, the beams, the doors and fireplace all give this home a special, characterful charm. There are four bedrooms spread across the three floors (via some steepish stairs). This cottage is suitable for families, friends or couples as it combines a central location with very easy access to the excellent shops and pubs in Stow with beautiful countryside nearby. Delightful, convenient and welcoming, this historic cottage is an ideal choice ACCOMMODATION: Front door into hall. • Location was perfect in the heart of Stow. Walking distance to beautiful local shops and tea rooms. We even found a nice local children's playground nearby. On road parking was hit and miss, but we were here over the August bank holiday. Nevertheless, we were always able to find parking space on nearby streets.

  • Lovely garden buzzing with bumblebees, beautiful location in the Cotswolds, clean and tidy place, good WiFi, a short stroll to the village green - shops, restaurants, cafes' - and also close to main roads to readily visit other towns/attractions.

  • This is a great house for a family weekend away in the Cotswolds. Beautiful garden and vista of the region. Kitchen had everything we needed and a great dining room for meals. Hosts were incredible helpful and accommodating! The cottage is well located to Stow-on-the-Wold and local villages, we enjoyed some lovely walks.

    Georgie2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The owners were very friendly! The manor was very lovely, kitchen was very well equipped. We were also welcomed with a bottle of wine and some biscuits. The best part was the fireplace which came prepared and all we had to do was to light a match to get it going. The owners also left ample firewood and coal throughout our stay. It was definitely the highlight of our trip! The manor was very beautiful and cosy to stay in. We were lucky to be visiting when Stow and the surrounding towns had fireworks. On 2 nights, we could see fireworks from the property. The location was within 10 mins slow walk to Tesco and right across from the Stow town centre. Excellent location. One thing to note was the acute left turn into the garage. We were driving an estate/station wagon so we needed a bigger turning angle so we had to be extra careful whilst getting in. Just a nice to know. I would recommend this place because of the wonderful experience we had. Fantastic!

  • Charming cottage with a beautiful garden near the lovely village center. Just be aware that if you have something bigger than a small SUV (x-trail) the parking space is a bit narrow. We enjoyed our stay and will recommend it!

  • Had a lovely family weekend in the Cotswolds at this property. It is well finished and well situated to the high street with good access to all that Stow has to offer. Ample parking and a nice garden ere also nice features. Good host communication before arrival too and they were able to provide a cot and high chair for our one year old. Highly reccommend.

  • We enjoyed our stay here. The house was comfortable, homely, quaint and well equipt. It's a great location, close to the gorgeous town of Stow-on-the-wold. We were initially worried it would be noisy, set near a busy road, but there was nothing to worry about. The house is set back from the road and is sound proof. The house has a lovely garden and a nice aspect at the back. Thank you for a lovely stay.

  • Talbot cottage is a beautiful cottage in an amazing location. The garden is beautiful and quintessentially English. The house is beautifully decorated and styled in a Laura Ashley theme which adds to the feel of home. If you're looking for an escape to the country in the most beautiful part of the country then look no further.

  • Great idilic cottage set in the heart of the Cotswolds. Just situated off a busy road with views looking over the countryside. The house is within easy walking distance to the town (5 min walk) and located in a private road. The wonderful country garden adds additional character to this house where you can relax and unwind. Many lovely must see Cotswolds villages within 10 - 20 minute drive from here making it a great base for seeing the Cotswolds sights.

The Hive is as sweet and gorgeous as it sounds! A period house that has undergone the most comprehensive overhaul imagineable, you are surrounded by quality and luxury. Inside, there is a smart open plan living area, more than ample space for up to 4 people, including an uber-smart kitchen that will allow you to enjoy cooking up a storm! The views towards the little green and Sheep Street beyond are lovely and for such a central property you are surprised at how peaceful it is.
There are two bedrooms; a sublime master suite and a secluded twin/double upstairs too. Light and bright it is hard to believe this venerable old building is as old as it is, the clean and simple lines are relaxing and the quality of the fixtures and furnishings is a joy to behold. The entire experience here is outstanding, we love it. Whether entertaining at home or taking advantage of the superb choices in Stow, this is an exceptional base to explore the cotswolds. ACCOMMODATION Entrance is across the patio of The Hive restaurant via a flight of external steps (12 in total), which takes you to the terrace, then through the front door into a hallway, which leads to main rooms on this floor. There is ample space for coats, boots, shoes etc. Open Plan Living Area with large sofa, two armchairs, wall mounted Curved Samsung smart TV with Freeview and connected to a Sonos sound system, a large wood burner-effect fireplace (electric and with flames!) Dining Area with circular table and four chairs Kitchen, filled with top of the range kit from Miele and Bosch, including four ring gas hob, double oven and grill, dishwasher and microwave and a large Fisher and Paykel fridge/freezer. There is a Nespresso coffee machine (a few pods are left for guests). Cloakroom/Wash Room with washing machine and tumble dryer, plus WC and washbasin Master Bedroom Suite with super king size bed (6ft), wall mounted smart TV, walk-in wardrobe plus Ensuite Bathroom with bath, walk in shower, WC and washbasin Upstairs (normal stairs) Bedroom Two with two single beds which can be made up as a king size (5ft) if requested. Outside To the rear is a patio/terrace with table and chairs for four people, this is to the rear and looks across the Stow rooftops . There is parking for one small car, off street, but we do like to warn guests that parking is tricky and hence why we say a small car. Access to the terrace is directly from the property. To reach the parking area, you will pass through the rear seating area of The Hive. Sorry No Pets. Children Aged 12+ please. Wifi incl. Heating & Elec incl.
Set on Digbeth Street and right in the heart of Stow, this is a great spot to enjoy all the fun that Stow offers! Stow on the Wold, of course, is one of the Cotswolds' most famous market towns, renowned for its quality shops, cafes and restaurants. Very much a working town, there is a farmers market each month as well as some excellent festivals which pop up through the year. The Hive restuarant is one of the best places to meet and eat, serving meals from breakfast 'til afternoon tea. Beyond The Hive guests will have a massive choice of places to eat and drink and also a wide range of places to shop and browse. Surrounding the town is a host of stunning villages with their pubs, which are well worth taking in. There are few better places to be than this area if you want to see 'classic Cotswolds'. The area is 'criss crossed' with footpaths and bridalways offering miles of idyllic cycling and walking routes. We'd personally recommend Lower and Upper Swell and Lower and Upper Slaughter for a start, we could go on...! Daylesford, famous for its organic shop selling fine food and produce, is about 8 mins drive away - for those looking for top notch shopping you will enjoy a visit - there's a cafe and spa also. Ever popular and beautiful is Bourton on the Water which is about 8 mins drive away, while places such as Burford, Moreton in Marsh and Chipping Campden are equally easy to get to. If you're coming with the children then we would definitely recommend the Cotswold Farm Park (Guiting Power) and the Cotswold Wildlife Park (nr Burford). Again, we could go on, but there is plenty to enjoy. Finally but not least, you really must try some of the local National Trust sites, incl Kiftsgate and especially Hidcote Manor Gardens, one of the best in the country. There is also Snowshill Manor and Snowshill Lavender close by. We think you've got plenty to do.....!!!
  • Fantastic apartment right in the heart of Stow-on-the-Wold. It was spotlessly clean, really well equipped, with comfy beds and all fittings of a really high standard. Jayne and Sally couldn't have been more welcoming, and the food in their cafe was excellent. A lovely weekend - perfect in every way.

  • The Hive is a beautiful property that we loved staying in. It was clean, modern, well laid out with three bathrooms (one a powder room) and was toasty warm our whole stay. We loved the heated floors in the bathrooms, the gas fire, the electric blinds and windows and the ease of everything in the apartment. The only inconvenience was carrying luggage up the stairs from the entry gate downstairs but this was also manageable for us. We were surprised to find that while we were in Stow on the Wold, almost the whole town shut down while the biannual visit from some gypsies occurred. The “horse fair”. Aside from a quick glimpse at their camp from the road as we drove by, we didn’t really see the gypsies. But it was disappointing that the whole town was closed (restaurants, shops etc). I would recommend double checking whether this event is on before booking for Stow in the Wold in both October and March when they also come.
