“From sophisticated dining to kiosk takeaway, this award-winning restaurant and kiosk - almost on our doorstep - is a ‘must-visit’ on any trip to Byron. The restaurant has a spectacular panoramic view that takes in Clarkes Beach and The Pass and stretches out to Julian Rocks in the distance. It is the only restaurant in Byron right on the beach. The restaurant has a smart- casual vibe and a great menu. It’s also a great place to head for coffee or a glass of wine and perhaps a shared plate - and a chat! The public beach-access path can be found to the left of the restaurant, when facing the sea. *Prefer takeaway? Sit at the outdoor tables under the trees. ‘Beach’ Kiosk serves takeaway coffee, tea, smoothies and snacks from early morning until late-ish, making this a great option for swimmer-clad eating on the way home from the beach. Or, do as the locals do: step inside and walk along the restaurant’s interior boardwalk to check the surf (and the view). Byron Council specially designated that this interior boardwalk, which is on the ‘town side’ (far left) INSIDE the restaurant, should remain free from tables and chairs so people can walk to the front of the restaurant to check the surf. Note: No wifi available in restaurant. ”

“Perfect family and surf beach. Parking can get a bit busy, sometimes best to try to park on a side road and walk rather than use the car parks (don't forget to pay if using the car parks!). Walk up to the Pass and check out the surfers from the top of the rock, or walk around the cliff towards Wategos from The Pass carpark.”

Route
“At the northern end of Tallow Beach, and directly below the southern cliffs of Cape Byron, Cosy corner offers surf breaks that are protected from the northerly winds, with ideal surf conditions occurring during a North – North East swell. These idyllic conditions produce clean, large waves making Cosy Corner a popular surf destination despite frequently strong rips in the area. The beach has been protected by Arakwal National Park since 2001 and is accessible down Tallow Beach Road, where you'll have to pay National Parks $6 to park your car. byron-bay.com/beaches/cosy-corner/ ”
