Museum
“In Pyrgos village of Tinos,a small thematic museum, where the marble technology is presented.Tinos is the most important modern Greek marble center. The small but extraordinary aesthetic and contemporary concept of this Marble Craft Museum comes to highlight and depict the social and economic context in which the local marble workshops were developed, while being a small but precious jewel for the island. Visitor has the opportunity to get acquainted with the traditional techniques and procedures related to the extraction, first processing and transportation of the marble, then the shaping and placement of the construction. It tracks the entire path from raw material to complete work! Amazing”

“Exomvourgo or Exobourgo is a mountain on the island of Tinos. It has a rugged appearance, unlike the other mountains in the Cyclades and is the site of a ruined Venetian fortress and town.”

Restaurant
“Famous gourmet fish restaurant with fresh local products. Very pricey for Tinos standards, if this was in Mykonos could be ok (my own opinion!). Book your table in advance on peak season! You may wait a bit long before you are served. I don't like it personally, great location right on the sea, good food but overrated and not value for money. Arrogant staff and noisy place with children shouting and screeming . Price range 30-45€ per person.”

Museum
“Exploring the well-preserved house – Giannoulis Chalepas museum a sense is created that Giannoulis has just left from his house though it’s been more than 70 years since he “left”. His clothes hanging on the hook, his personal belongings, his bedroom, his workshop, they all carry memories of the period (1902-1930) when the famous Greek sculptor lived in Pyrgos. His mind was frequently leading him into dangerous territories; Yet, without ever managing to limit his creativity. Some of the major projects of Chalepas, sketches and photographs complement the precious material of the museum General entrance: 3 Euros, Reduced: 1,5 Euros (common for Tinian Artists Museum, Pyrgos)”

Museum
“The main aim of the Museum is to promote awareness of Costas Tsoclis’s work, so that the general public can be brought into contact with contemporary art. The Museum holds a complete archive of the artist’s works, and television programmes dedicated to his thought and work will be shown daily in a special viewing room. Each year the exhibit in one of the three areas of the Museum will be replaced with another work or works from a different period of Tsoclis’s development, and the exhibits in the other two areas will remain the same, thus ensuring continuity of the Museum’s character while maintaining visitors’ interest by an ever – changing overall exhibition.”

“Kolibithra bay is on the north shore of the island of Tinos, facing the north Aegean sea, home of the infamous local "meltemi", a strong north wind that blows mainly during the summer months. When the meltemi wind blows at a speed of more than 6 on the Beaufort scale - which sometimes can be for most of July and August - then a great left wave (and sometimes a smaller right) can be ridden at Kolibithra. One of the great things about surfing at Kolibithra is the ease of access to the line up (via a natural current that takes you there in a minute), the lack of any danger (no sharks, sandy bottom), and the proximity to cheap accomodation and great food, found just on the other side of the bay.”

“Remote, quiet and low profile, it is appropriate if you abhor the crowd, but not if you can not withstand the meltemi. With impressive, golden sand dunes reminding you of something deserted, with rocks sculpted by the sea and blue waters licking the edge, you will worship it. It is 10 km away. from Chora.”
