TOTALLY RENOVATED FOR 2017. My place is close to Porthtowan and St Agnes. In the countryside but close to the beach. You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space and the countryside setting, only a few minutes drive from the beach. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families, big groups, and pets. The site is a small quiet chalet park consisting of 8 ceder chalets. There is a games room, laundry room, and loads of outside space. The site is accessed down a long farm track.
The chalet consists of a lounge, kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms. It has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with twin beds, and a sofa bed in the lounge. It has a fully fitted bathroom with W.C., wash-hand basin, and bath with electric shower. The chalet is fully equipped with new televisions with digital freeview and DVD player, convector heaters, electric cooker, microwave, toaster, refrigerator, electric kettle, cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery. Duvets, blankets and pillows are provided. Please bring duvet covers, sheets, pillowcases, towels and teatowels. Linen is available for hire on request. Cots and high chairs are available on request at no extra charge. Electricity is supplied through a £1 coin meter. All bungalows are fully double-glazed. The bungalows are non-smoking. Each bungalow has its own picnic table and a barbecue is available for your own use on request. We have a laundry room with washing machine/tumble dryer, iron and ironing board.
Mount Hawke village has various amenities for your everyday needs including grocery shops, Post Office and Old School Bar & Kitchen. Porthtowan has a pub and the popular Blue Bar on the beach, they both serve food. We are 500 metres down a private lane from the village which makes this a very safe area for children away from any traffic. The popular resort of Porthtowan is only a few minutes drive as is the quaint resort of St.Agnes, with its beautiful sandy beach at Trevaunance Cove. The section of the North Cornwall Coastal Path in the area of Porthtowan, Chapel Porth, St. Agnes Beacon, and Trevaunance Cove has some of the most beautiful cliff scenery in the country, abounding in wild flowers and numerous species of sea birds. The National Trust owns the beaches of Chapel Porth and Godrevy. Chapel Porth is a fine beach at low tide, and Godrevy is a beautiful long stretch of sandy beach backed by cliffs and dunes, at low tide the beach extends along the coast to Hayle. Most of the beaches along this stretch of coast are excellent for surfing. Perranporth, only six miles distant, with its three mile stretch of sandy beach, also offers a golf course. Horse riding is available from various establishments within a couple of miles of Mount Hawke. Hayle, with its large estuary, is a favourite haunt for ornithologists. The Eden Project is within easy driving distance. Other principle places of interest in Cornwall are all within easy motoring distance, e.g. Lands End - 30 miles, Penzance, St. Michaels Mount and Mousehole - 20 miles, St. Ives - 18 miles Falmouth and Newquay - 12 miles and the City of Truro - 8 miles.
  • Christine’s place was lovely. The bungalows were really cute and had everything we needed. The area was also really nice. You could walk to the next little store in only 15 mins and the beach was about 10 mins drive. We’d always stay here again.

  • This was our first Airbnb experience and the cabin served us well as a base from which we could explore more of what Cornwall has to offer….we had a lovely day in St Ives (half an hour’s drive away) before driving onwards to Lands End and we also visited the Eden Project (50 mins drive from the cabin) and Adrenalin Quarry for the zip wire (a further 30 mins from Eden Project). The cabin was basic but well equipped although the beds weren't terribly comfortable. The electricity meter wasn't a problem, we spent £3 or £4 for a 2-night stay. There was an overwhelming smell of damp, despite the dehumidifier which was on when we arrived. I wish we’d been informed about this beforehand as both my husband and my older son are asthmatic so it wasn't ideal. The cabin is in a really pretty area and our boys enjoyed using the games room and we also took advantage of the beautiful local scenery with a walk but sadly we didn’t have time to explore nearby St Agnes as we’d hoped

Spacious contemporary cabin, nestled between 2 nature reserves close to the North Cornwall - ideal for those after a quiet retreat, with perfect access for walks, surfin, beaches, mountain bike rides - or just relaxing and exploring Cornwall
Contemporary timber cabin, with views across a beautiful valley and sunsets over hills.
We're in a place called Ventongimps, a couple of miles from the beach where nothing much happens - even in the summer tractors, cyclists and horses outnumber cars. we ride our bikes to the beach - its nearly all downhill on the way, and our nearest neighbours are Callestick Ice Cream and Healeys Cyder Farm. Perfect.
  • Simon and Becky's lodge is absolutely beautiful – the view is spectacular and the lodge itself is wonderful. Wonderfully quiet, and lots of lovely touches like fresh eggs from the hens outside and a delicious cream tea. Super comfy bed, excellent shower. Simon and Becky were both around if we needed them, but the lodge is nicely tucked away for a bit of privacy. Thank you both for such a lovely stay!

  • Our stay here was perfect! We loved all the little details and finishing touches left for us upon our arrival-scones, clotted cream, jam, and fresh eggs! The place was adorable and clean, and the view was wonderful. Simon was really helpful and kind. He gave us some great suggestions of places to go. The stay was exactly what we were looking for- idyllic, peaceful, and in close proximity to the beach!

  • We had a lovely stay at Nordstrom. The lodge was a joy to stay in. Spotlessly clean and set in such a peaceful and quiet setting with everything we needed for our stay. The fresh scones were a lovely touch and our daughter particularly enjoyed visiting the chickens in the garden as well as the ducks who came to the window to say hello! Simon was an excellent host, there if we needed him for anything but left us to it. The location was excellent with quick and easy access to Perranporth,Newquay, St Ives, Penzance etc. If you're after somewhere peaceful and quiet to stay with easy access to everything Cornwall has to offer, Ventonwyn Lodge is absolutely perfect! Thanks Simon, we had a fantastic holiday :)

  • We booked this for our mini-moon the week after we got married. What a perfect little place this is for relaxation. It backs onto Simon and Rebecca's main house, and they are the most welcoming hosts and welcomed us with free eggs from their chickens and homemade scones and cream. Simon gave some great recommendations of where to eat, and things to do. The home itself is just the right size for two people. The bed is really comfortable, and everything is clean and modern. We even arranged for our sainsburys shop to be delivered the day we arrived (after confirming with the hosts, who didn't mind). There is no phone reception, and although there is wifi, this can be intermittent, we preferred this as wanted some alone time, but it may hinder some. Perranporth is 5 minutes in a car and Newquay is 15-20. A must do is Zarcy's at Watergate Bay hotel. We was treated to a swim and dine for a wedding present and had one of our best meals there. All in all, it is a perfect little get away, and we would definitely stay here again in the future.

  • Really enjoyed our stay. Thank you. Beautiful accommodation, thoughtfully chosen furnishings, everything we needed. The cream tea, eggs (and even ice creams in the freezer!) much appreciated! Lovely gardens with ducks and chickens. We had a restful and relaxing time.

  • Have probably not slept so well anywhere else on holiday, really quiet and woken by only the birds singing in the morning. Great views from the lodge and lovely hosts. The fresh free range eggs were definitely a bonus also. Would recommend.
