National Park
“Horton Plains National Park is a beautiful nature reserve with mysterious landscapes and mountains. The park is located on a 2000-meter high plateau and includes grasslands, thick forests, foggy lakes, waterfalls and huge rocks. It is an excellent place for birdwatchers, but there are more animals such as boar monkeys, deer and even some leopards. The most famous highlight in the park is World’s End. Here the plateau ends in a deep abyss of 870 meters. This provides an amazing view of the surrounding villages, tea plantations and the valley. “Only if you are nature lover visit this place. If not this will be very boring place to you. Before this place was agricultural land. Sometimes you can see animal species which are specific to Sri Lanka. There is an observation place in moon plains. You can see mountain range in 360°view. And there is a border of central province of Sri Lanka and Uva province. You can capture group photos here with 360 ° view. It is very awesome. ”

“A humongous Lake bounded by the greenery and covered with a mist at early mornings is what you will see here. But that is now – before 1827 the entire area was a swamp with streams which had water throughout the year where the British Governor Sir William Gregory converted it to Lake Gregory in 1873. The highest peak of Sri Lanka, Piduruthalagala streamed down the Thalagala River and Sir Gregory decided on damning it but years past with several additions and renovations to it including the Hydro Power station at Naanu Oya where eh waters of the Gregory lake were directed via a tunnel.”

“eetha Amman Temple is located approximately 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) from Hakgala Botanical Garden and 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) from Nuwara Eliya. The temple is located in the village of Seetha Eliya (also known as Sita Eliya). This place is believed to be the site where Sita was held captive by (Vikram) king Ravana, and where she prayed daily for Rama to come and rescue her in the Hindu epic, Ramayana. On the rock face across the stream are circular depressions said to be the footprints of Lord Hanuman.”
