Historic Site
“Valladolid is a beautiful colonial town with lots of shopping, history, and restaurants. There is a great cenote in the middle of town that we love! It is called Cenoti Zach. It has ledges that people regularly jump off of. So bring your swim suit when you are ready for a refreshing swim. We have read great reviews about the restaurant at the cenote, but have not tried it yet. ”

“The Valladolid municipal market s a charming market located about 10 blocks from the Casita. It has a variety of stalls filled with things for you to eat, including foods specific to the area and handmade gifts. The market starts humming around 8 a.m., slows down around 1 p.m., and is pretty much closed by 3 p.m. If you like to eat at markets there are stalls for eating here as well.”

“Located in the center of Valladolid, this is a popular cenote for swimming in the refreshing turquoise waters. You will see a rare species of eyeless black fish known as “lub.” A third of the cenote is covered with stalactites and stalagmites and there is a walkway around the entire cenote. There is also a restaurant on the property, serving many Yucatecan specialties.”

“Calle 40 across the street from Casa de los Venados, half a block from the parque principal. This really is a bar and restaurant. What is the coolest thing to do here is to climb up to the top of the building where there are couches and tables in the open air. The views of the city at night are really great. Second level on the front of the building also has outside seating, which is a little quieter and you're not closed in.”
