Parks & Nature
Hiking and biking nature trail which is 17.9 miles long, and is fairly well-maintained. This is the nearest 'Rails-to-Trails' trail to my property. There is a new trailhead on Halsema Road that has a parking lot, nice picnic tables in a shelter and of all things an all-season horse-washing station (our tax dollars at work lol). Also there is a portable toilet near the shelter.

War-Between-the-States memorial park with boardwalk through wetlands. Very well maintained. Few picnic tables but there is a restroom facility located nearby on the JAX-Baldwin trail, which can be accessed directly from Camp Milton. There is also a Community Center that can be rented for events.

Tennis courts nearest to my property & they are well-maintained & lighted. There is also a nice walking trail, not too long but nice cause it circles small pond.

Has the oldest & most historic tree in the region that is huge & very beautiful, especially if the weather is nice. You can take scenic hikes downtown JAX from this starting point. However be aware that parking is very limited & this is also a popular spot for street people & panhandlers.

This park has a beach that is very popular with locals because they allow vehicles to be driven on the beach. However beware that during peak times (esp. on weekends and holidays) there are so many vehicles on the beach that this area can become congested and not child-friendly.

This is a small but beautiful park located on the shore of the St. John's River. There is an iconic memorial statue near the water that is a must-see & do photo-op. Riverside area nearby has many fine restaurants, bars, cafes, etc.

One of the most interesting islands I've toured with wild horses, historical abandoned buildings, incredible ocean views, overnight camping, hiking trails, etc.--this place has it all! However be aware that the only way to get there is by taking the private ferry that is operated by the National Park Service. This ferry is small and reservations are closed very quickly, especially on weekends. The ferry ride to and from the island can now be booked online.
