South Shell Park can be your go-to beach during late spring to early fall. It might not be a real tropical beach but being just a few minutes away, it’s super convenient!
This is an ideal picnic location for family weekends. Note that personal barbecues are not permitted in town parks so better bring already-cooked meals and snacks. Bring your pool toys, inflatable boats, and all the fun stuff! No diving is allowed though so don’t get too excited.
Love taking pictures? This park offers a scenic view of Lake Ontario. Facing the east side on clear-weather days, the CN Tower and other Toronto buildings are visible. Like Burloak Waterfront Park, this is a perfect location to view the sunrise. Geese, ducks, and seagulls hangout here early mornings and late afternoon. Minks and rabbits can also be spotted around the bushes.
It’s a cozy place to lounge, perhaps read a book or just sit with a friend as you listen to the sound of the waves.
Parking is limited but it's a 25 minute walk and free
