Food Scene

Lunch specials and HH are the best. It's my favorite sushi spot in all of Omaha, I promise you won't be disappointed if you're a sushi lover :)

Drinks & Nightlife

It's more of a speakeasy. The entrance itself will impress you off the bat. The atmosphere is so relaxing; purple suede walls, candle-lit tables. The best part- specialty drinks made right in front of you, if you prefer to sit at the bar, and the bartender is more than happy to tell you about the drink; origins, flavors you can expect, etc.

Parks & Nature

Feed the ducks at River's Edge Park, walk around the lake, depending on the time of year, the water fountain is amazing. Great place for picnics (again, weather permitting), running, or for a nice jaunt. Bob the Bridge, a little over a half a mile long, goes right over the MO river and connects Council Bluffs and Omaha. It's an excellent spot for bike riding, it has trails leading up and from it. There's bike share if you don't have a bike. Going over the bridge can actually take you all the way to the park!

Entertainment & Activities

The Old Market retains its brick paved streets from the turn of the century, horse-drawn carriages, and covered sidewalks in some areas. It is not uncommon to see a variety of street performers, artists, and other vendors. Great eats everywhere!

Shopping

This is one of my absolute favorite places (I'm a vintage junkie). It has a plethora of flannels, old school sweatshirts, band tees, and just all things vintage. The jewelry is the best!

Essentials

It's about 5-6 blocks west of me. The closest you're gonna get if you need any emergency essentials.

Everything Else

Lovely little used book store. The WWII section is my favorite (I'm a history buff). There are little reading nooks for you to just sit and enjoy a book for a while if you're contemplating buying it or you just want to hang out. Staff are friendly and helpful if you have trouble finding something as it's quite packed with books in there (that's a good thing!)
