Coogee is a relaxed coastal suburb. Its broad, sandy beach appeals to both swimmers and surfers, and the ocean pools cut into the headlands are popular with families. There are laid-back pubs and bars on the beachfront, while the surrounding streets are filled with alfresco cafes. Joggers take in dramatic ocean views on the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk. Nearby Gordon’s Bay has snorkelling trails and rich marine life.

With almost 31 million visitors a year, Centennial Park is one of Australia's most popular and historic public parklands, offering 189-hectares of wide open spaces. Originally the traditional home of the Gadi people and inaugurated in 1888, it retains its status as a people’s park – it's a spectacular recreational space for adults and children of all ages and is one of the few inner city parks in the world to offer horse riding facilities. It is also home to diverse flora and fauna and many significant tree plantings, including spectacular Port Jackson figs, Holm oaks and Norfolk Island pines dating back to the early 20th century.

Yearly events

A few events that are very special to our Eastern Suburbs and to note in your agenda when you plan your trip to Sydney!
24 October – 10 November 2019 The Bondi to Coogee walk hosts the annual Sculpture by the Sea exhibition, since the inaugural one-day event in 1997, the free exhibition transforms the coastline into an outdoor gallery showcasing local and international artists and activities. From humble beginnings, millions of visitors have flocked to the cliff tops of Bondi and Tamarama to take in the variously playful, awe-spiring, and surreal installations which have made Sculpture by the Sea the world’s largest free outdoor event. This year's event is expected to attract over half a million visitors over three weeks.
