The Lotrščak Tower -Strossmayerovo šetalište 9 -Issuing the Golden Bull of 1242, Bela IV, the king of Hungary and Croatia, returned the favor to the town of Gradec for providing hospitality and shelter while escaping from the Tatars. By this Bull, the town was proclaimed a royal free city, but at the same time, the Bull obligated the citizens to fortify their town with walls and towers. The construction of the fortification lasted twenty years and it was finally finished in 1266. It was then when the Lotrščak Tower was built to guard the southern gate of the town - a former small gate Dverce - which was demolished in 1812, during the reconstruction of the southern promenade, today called the Strossmayer Promenade. -The name of the tower is derived from the name for the bell, campana latrunculorum – thieves’ bell, which rang in the evening to signal the closing of the town gates. -Every day since 1877, a couple of loud cannon blasts from here signal noon sharp.

Sljeme -„Let’s go to Sljeme!“, as citizens of Zagreb say, having in mind going to any part of Mount Medvednica, even though Sljeme is just the name of its peak. -in 1973 a new TV tower was constructed and the old one was closed for public. The new tower was supposed to be a paradise for visitors who wanted to enjoy distant views, with an elevator that would take them 81 meters up to an open observation deck or to a café on a lower level, offering a 360-degree panoramic view. There were even plans for a fine dining restaurant with a rotating platform, but it was never built. Unfortunately, the tower was open for visitors for only two years.
