Located in Matasinhos Tito 2 (and Tito 1, is 2 doors down) are simply the best grilled seafood restaurants in the area. Our personal favorite is the robalo, but everything is delicious. Reservation highly recommended for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.

If you have not had a bifana then you absolutely MUST have one (or two). Hands down, these are probably the best bifanas in all of Portugal. A slightly spicy shredded pork au jus on on a bread roll. It is hard to eat just one. Enjoy this taste treat with a SuperBock fino (the local draft beer).

For a special event it would be hard to go wrong with Vinum. The views are spectacular and the food is delicious. There is a wine bar for those with a smaller budget or appetite. A small local restaurant with great fresh seafood, and also grilled meats. Spend the day on the beach and then drop by for dinner, or go for lunch and then stroll down to the ocean to watch the people and the sunset.

A wonderful restaurant in Afurada with great seafood. The octopus salad is great, as is the grilled fish. Prices are reasonable and service is excellent. Sit at one of the many outside tables and watch the people.

Personally, this is our favorite port maker, and has the most personalized tours available. All of their ports are delicious. This is a great way to spend a hot afternoon, since the port caves are wonderfully cool.

The fishmongers and their wives of Afurada still do things the tradional way. Check out the public laundry, and be sure to ask us hoe to find the small museum that is in the neighborhood. The museum alsao has a new collection of information and display that relate to the village, its history and way of life.

A fantastic aromatics farm just a few minutes walk from the house. You are allowed to walk in the fields and generally roam about the property. The also sell their products, including lots of amazing herbal teas.
