There is a hike just north of the Amphitheatre that gives a great view of Denver at the top. The place itself is probably the best concert venue I have ever been able to attend.

The town is the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, and if that's not enough, the historic Stanley Hotel is located in the north part of town (The Shining was filmed there). Go have a coffee at the Starbucks, but be sure to step out back and enjoy the water!

These are absolutely a must see for the plant guru, or if you're just down to see some incredible foliage. Either way, it's a great way to spend an afternoon in Denver before dinner.

Ok, if you are going to go to Boulder, you may as well hit Pearl Street. It's a walking Mall, and then some, and sure, it may be a bit of a tourist trap, but there is some incredible people watching!

This is definitely a place to visit in Denver, lots of walking since it is technically an outdoor Mall, but there is a Free trolly car available all day to take you up and down. Food, shopping, and a theater all there, and I believe bowling.

Union Station is probably "The" spot in Denver right now. It has been heavily renovated, and now holds some of the coolest areas in Denver. The main area is a really unique hang out, and yes, the train and buses still run out of there, so if you wanted to hop the train to the airport and go through here- make plenty of time to grab a drink, bite to eat, or shop.

Like to gamble? Try your luck at blackjack, roulette, or the slots? Well, short of Vegas itself, this place is rocking on the weekends. It's close enough for a beautiful drive up Clear Creek Canyon via Golden, but too far to spend less than an evening there. Recommendation: find one of the buses, or carpool, it's a long drive back if your luck ran out.

Country your thang? Well the very popular Grizzly Rose is a must, and it's really close to here. Take an Uber and enjoy the bar. Lots of dancing, and usually a live band - don't be surprised if it's someone current either.

I grew up around Six Flags, so for me this one isn't the top of my list, but not because it doesn't offer some killer excitement for the day, and a water park side by side. Instead it's because I like to ride killer coasters, and this one boasts only 2, so if that's not a big deal, it's a great park!
