Campobello Island is located just beyond Lubec Maine. You will need a passport to enter canada but it's a great day trip while staying at Bella Vista.
President Roosevelt used to stay there during the summer and his cottages are open for tours!

Beals is famous for Tall Barney Beal. There's a museum (Beals Historical Society) in this little lobster fishing island that is connected to Jonesport. It holds many treasures of our local area. You can even stand next to Tall Barney himself.

Jonesport Pizza is located right in the center of town.
Stewarts Take Out is located at the Stewarts Convenient Store.
If you're looking for fresh lobster right off the boat-this is a great place to go.

For fresh lobster I'd recommend stopping at Hopkins Point Wharf-they will be able to sell you lobster fresh off the boat! Great people and great prices!

Machias is a nearby town with lots of history. It's also the location for the nearest hospital (DECH). There are several great restaurants, and shops. Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, Dollar General, Walgreens, and a grocery store.

One of the best local places to eat while visiting Down East Maine. I'd recommend the blueberry pie-it's pretty famous! :)

There's only one road going through our town. LOL
There is a local grocery store in town-Mannafords. They are open monday-sunday. There are also grocery stores located in Columbia Falls and in Machias.
Closest pharmacy (Walgreens) is in Machias about 20 mins from the beach house.
Closest hospital is in Machias. Closest walk-in care clinic is in Ellsworth about an 1 hr away.
