The park spreads over an area of forests and lakes North-west from Helsink. The park can be reached by public transportation from Helsinki and Espoo.

Super nice forest walks close to the center. There's also a really neat river a bit further away closer to Espoo part.

Drinks & Nightlife
Down the road from my place, the local hang-out serves a wide selection of beers but also coffee and other things. They are the neighbourhood bar with board games and easy entrance. Worth the visit if you want a drink!

Getting Around
You can get a metro to the city center or go east-wards. There is also a stop for trams and bus. Search online for "reittiopas" to find public transport connections and more info.
From other guests: Some guests recommend buying a 4 day card, with 2 zones so you could go even to Nuuksio park.

The city bikes are apparently pretty good to get around, I have not tried them myself yet!

Some of the guests rented their bikes from here and were very happy with the service and the quality/price ration.
If you rent a bike, make sure to lock it properly and leave it inside the courtyard!!

This is the main train station in Helsinki. You can get local and long-distance trains from here, and buy your tickets, etc.
The local train company is called VR, Valtion Rautatiet, so buy searching for "VR" and "timetables" on the Internet you can find the train schedules.

Take a ferry boat, it's only 10 min ride from the central market square, and you'll discover this beautiful island. Pick up the HKL ferry boat, it's included in your public transport ticket.

Finns love going to sauna. Nowadays, common saunas in the city are rather rare, but here is one nearby. Note: they are places for relaxing and a good wash, nothing to do with the idea of sauna for sex partners, etc.
