BALATON is at least about 1.5-2hrs way from Budapest. I spent so much time fishing here... caught tons of fish. Great memories!

An amazing cave system, extremely complex and partially unexplored. Tens of miles long but for main area you don't need a guide. Have at least a full day for the area and travelling!

Keszthely is near the lake and has a nice castle to see.
A lake fully stocked, great outdoors, nice fishing!!!
mainly large powerful carps, strong fighter catfish, and asian carp torpedos, eventual big eels and pike, walleye. For the whole family!! not a dangerous place...it is flat...well groomsd...comfiest fishing. You can buy the catch and cook it.

One of the best fishing areas in the region. Friend with a boat highly suggested for catching the trophy ones! Suggested if one has multiple days available for outdoors.
