Grant City, is a neighborhood in Staten Island that runs from Richmond Road to Hylan Boulevard and from Lincoln Avenue to New Dorp Lane. Grant City’s streets are named for literary and political lights of the 19th and early 20th Century. My place , located in Grant City, is only a few mins. walk to food places, Laundromat, 7-Eleven, barber/beauty salon & other stores in the area. The USPS mailbox is just around the corner too. The train is just a min. walk. Very convenient location!

Midland beach is one of the beach communities in Staten Island. One can enjoy swimming in the summer or take a scenic stroll or bike ride down the 2.5 mile boardwalk.

Take the 5.2 mile, 25min boat ride (one way) through New York Harbor between New York City boroughs of Manhattan and Staten Island for a spectacular view of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Manhattan skyline, Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and get views for both dawn and dusk. The ferry runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week & all year long, with boats leaving every 15 to 20 minutes during peak hours. Look up Ferry Schedule online at: https://www.siferry.com/schedules.html From my place, take the train to St George ($2.75 MetroCard) & transfer to the ferry. The Ferry operates between the St. George Ferry Terminal on Staten Island and the Whitehall Terminal in Lower Manhattan.

It's a min. walk from my place to the local train, take it 2 stops(free 3 min. ride) and walk to the hospital (about 12 mins. depending how fast one walks). Free street parking is avail. in my area.

The Grant City Train Station is a minute walk from my place. The train runs 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Train Rides not originating or terminating at St. George or Tompkinsville are FREE. Fares are ONLY paid on entry and exit at St. George and Tompkinsville, otherwise it's FREE. The fare at St. George and Tompkinsville is $2.90, the same fare as the New York City Subway and MTA buses. Fares are payable by MetroCard. At the St. George Terminal, Riders can transfer to the Free Ferry to Manhattan, several bus routes and the Staten Island train.

Local bus routes are S51, S59, S76, S78, S79, S81 And Express bus routes to Manhattan are SIM1, SIM1C, SIM9, SIM10.
