The $25 lamb chops are an expensive treat but the staff is kind and charming and the cook in the front window is a very sweet man. They are also almost across the street from a Patel Brothers supermarket.

On the other corner from the more famous di palo's but I spent one summer during grade school eating nothing but their fresh baked rosemary, mozzarella and prosciutto cubes bread. It was incredible. I don't see that bread anymore but it is now a tourist stop for Europeans with many Italian imports and a deli counter.

It's really too bad she closed at 80 Thompson - it was her original location and the Thompson chocolate is my favorite. I've only been there twice to try to find the chocolate that my mom tasted for the first time when she was a child. Reportedly, her creme brulee tastes like a Chinese egg tart. This is a UK chain owned by a Korean and the local Chinese staffers possibly students from Pace are very sweet and unsnotty. I don't know anything about sushi but this place seems very sanitary.

you can see it from our building - I haven't tried the crispy chicken house special that everyone else seemed to be getting - the pepper and salt pork chops are not that but they have a ribs and pumpkin dish that is tasty and are very nice about your ordering rice dishes after the lunch specials are over.

This new building may be interesting architecturally. It is striking and visible from Delancey Street along with another nearby building. My knees and ankles explode just from checking in guests so I haven't walked past it but from Delancey Street, it is very noticeable as it stands out from the other buildings.
