This is a beautiful small medieval hamlet, and part of the Regional Natural Park of Gola della Rossa e Frasassi. Here is also the administration seat of the Park which resides in an ancient Monastery now transformed in a very interesting Museum. The Monastery Church is perfectly preserved with all its Frescos and is very beautiful.

In the middle of the Natural Park of GOLA DELLA ROSSA E FRASSASSI, this Monastery dates back to the X Century, it is part of a complex with defending towers and bridges along the Esino River. Many nice Restaurants are located here and is a good starting point for walks and hikes.

Pierosara, has a very interesting love story to tell, but we leave it to you to discover it. It was an old Roman Sighting Fort and later in the middle ages a castle. Many walks and hikes go through or begin from this location. And an excellent home style Restaurant can be found there.

5 Via Tommaso MarcelliniThis park has so much to offer, beside the caves. Many paths for every kind of hiker, walker or mountain biker, in an uncontaminated Nature, which offers some unique native flora.
The fauna comprises wolves, deers, foxes, badgers, Porcupines, wild boars, squirrels, many kind of beards including some local species of woodpeckers, owls, hawks and most important of all Eagles are nesting here too.
Not far away, around 25 minutes drive from our home, there is this Nature Reserve. Mount Strega gets up to about 1300 meters,
it easy to get to the top, through forest and grassland.
After been enchanted by the many grooves of wild roses, among other flowers that, especially in May, inebriate you with the sights and the scents, once you reach the top you will have a view which reaches to Adriatic Sea towards East and as far as Perugia on the West, with the Sibillini and Gran Sasso Range to the south and Mount Titano of San Marino to the North.

Fabriano is biggest close town, it has 30000 inhabitants.
It is famous for its Paper production with dates back to ancient times. It has been also the seat of an important Painting school in the Renaissance, represented specifically by the Painter Gentile da Fabriano.
