A trip to Narooma is not complete until you have visited the Quarterdeck Restaurant. Get there for sunset and enjoy a sundowner cocktail or join them for one of their music nights. Overlooking the Wagonga Inlet with views to the mountains this is one incredible spot.

One of the most beautiful places to hang out - Situated just outside of Narooma the winery is on the banks of Corunna Lake looking out to the rolling green hills of the Tilba Valley. They have live music every Sunday and a French chef. There are sand pits and a bouncy castle for the kids. Oh and wine tasting and craft beers too!

Only open on certain days this restaurant has the most incredible food. Chef Glenn is REALLY talented. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. If you don't want to drive then join our Southbound Escapes Winery tour and we will take you there.

I had to choose everything else as Eastwoods is not just a deli but a cooking school too. Kelly the owner has worked on shows such as River Cottage, Masterchef and has cooked all over the world. Oh and they make the best doughnuts!

Sightseeing

Australia Rock is one of Narooma's iconic places to visit but wait don't stop there - walk a little further along the path out to the bar and look down on the rocks - this is one of the few places in Australia where you can be within metres of a seal colony. Watching them basking in the sun or frolicking in the waves - the puppies of the sea are so gorgeous. This is a must for a trip to Narooma.

The Mill Bay Boardwalk was built and funded by the Narooma community. It is built over a stretch of the Narooma Inlet and is the perfect place to spot birds such as pelicans, listen to the bell birds, spot the giant sting rays, fish and so much more. It is also part of the Narooma to Dalmeny Cycle track.

The Narooma Tourist Information Centre will point you in the right direction for Tours. My company Southbound Escapes has a range of day tours departing from Narooma or try our E-Bike tours which are amazing. A must do trip is to take the boat out to Montague Island to see/swim/dive with the seals. Take the twilight penguin tour or go on to the Island and take the tour around the island. Meander down to the Narooma Marina and hire a BBQ Boat, kayak or tinny. Go out on one of the Charter fishing boats - you will not need to buy dinner for tonight - delicious fresh fish that you have caught - what could be better!

This is by far the best zoo I have ever visited - It is privately owned by Sally (Good name!) who is passionate about conservation. The zoo is home to endangered species and there are lots of different experiences such as time in the enclosure with the Meer Cats (costs extra) or patty a red panda, feed the deer and the giraffes. It is a great spot to bring the family but leave plenty of time and take a picnic as there are some great spots to just relax and enjoy the sounds of the animals and birds.

Parks & Nature

There are so many beaches around Narooma but the Little Bar beach as it is known is great for families as there are no waves. The water is crystal clear and it is one of our favourites.

Central Tilba is a National Heritage Village. It is full of quaint shops, cafes serving high tea and The Drom Pub dates back to the 1800's. For a locals experience continue a bit further to Tilba Tilba and check out the new French restaurant.
