Parks & Nature
You can access on Hwy 1 (about 5 minutes from your room) Park on dirt shoulder on Hwy 1..or,,,best way with small hike is to park by Fin's restaurant in large beach parking lot.(end of Grand Ave) There is a trail that starts in back of the park restrooms. You may take the wooded path to the Monarch fields (about 20 minutes) This path is also against Pismo Campground. You can walk to beach from there, or to Pismo Pier. Hike can be as long or short as you want.

A donated paved trail from Mr. Bob Jones that goes thru the oak trees , mountains, streams and golf course of Avila . Very beautiufl and usually sunny. There is a marvelous Deli in the middle. Very beautiful ocean park. Highly recommend. I have more pictures on my site of it. Good 40 minutes away. Beautiful hiking and pretty scenes. Gorgeous vast mile long views of ocean and bluffs.

Beautiful lake, about 20-30 minutes away. Nice warm inland weather. Designated swimming. Fishing, boating, picnic, camping, RV.s Restaurant/snack bar on site with arcade and bar overlooking lake. Lots of good hiking , take the trails! During the summer they have huge waterslides. Zip lining.

Zip lining.

Check out Harrys Bar for the real fun tourist attraction! Usually a band and dancing. Puffers winetsting room too. Sorry to say, at the moment, the pier is being worked on. Most of them are because of the recent storms.

Take wooded path to ocean. Bathroom is along path. Beach is very quiet, beautiful, and soft, clean white sand. Some of the areas are protected, and are not allowed to be stepped on. So not to endanger birds habitat. Please observe. I wouldn't go at 5pm or after. Maybe lots of mosquitos. I wouldn't go by myself at night time. Too secluded.

On the weekends it is busy day and night. During the week restaurants are open til around 9pm., and pubs later. Recommended restaurants are AG village Deli. (outside live music during the summer at night-so fun!) moderately priced and yummy. Gina's Restaurant, very good Italian and other , fun and yummy!! Rooster Creek very fun, good nightlife, outside tables. Planted restaurant is really good for healthy shakes and food options. There is a creek that runs in thru the village. Roosters hang out about the place. Great shopping.
