Food Scene

We love this place! Not only is the beer and wine selection amazing, but the food is incredible! They change their menu every week, to suit what the chef has collected from his allotment, and what is in season locally, so there is always something new to try! They have live music on a Wednesday night, and the entire pub is just always very chilled, full of dogs and families :-) It is not very expensive and is well worth the walk up the hill! NOTE: Monday to Thursday it opens at 5pm. Friday - Sunday it opens at 12noon

One of the most famous restaurants in Brighton, it is slightly at the top of the budget but the food is amazing! I always suggest booking a table, as it gets extremely busy! They specialise in seafood, which is caught locally and extremely fresh! They also have a great selection of wines and Whiskeys! The staff here are fantastic, and you really can't beat the food anywhere in Brighton!

Drinks & Nightlife

This musicals bar is a great spot for a night out! They only play music from musicals (they show the videos on the big screens), and there is always a great atmosphere! Open until late, they have things going on all through the week, including Blankety Blank, Bingo and live music! A great place to start or end a night out!

If you are a fan of beer, you NEED to visit Bier Haus! They have a selection of over 25 beers, that are constantly changed, and the staff know every single one of them inside out! It is very reasonably priced and just a fantastic way to spend a relaxing afternoon/early evening. The pub is slightly away from the normal touristy spots, and is more local families and couples (Hens and Stag don't tend to venture up this far), so a lovely chilled atmosphere!

A hidden gem in the center of town! I have lived in Brighton for many years, and only recently found this pub as I was strolling around the Lanes. And what a find it was! They have a great little terrace which catches the afternoon sun, and plenty of seating inside for those chillier evenings. This pub brews there own beer, called Pond Water, and you MUST try it! Not too strong, but full of flavour! This is an independent pub and so prices are slightly higher, but definitely worth it! They also do incredible food!

This is my all time favourite bar in Central Brighton! It has been recently refurbished and is stunning inside; they have also had a staffing overhaul, and they are fanatic! For me, it is important that a pub is dog friendly, as I take my dog everywhere with me, and this pub welcomes them with open arms. In the early afternoon, there is often the same amount of customers as dogs! The beer selection is incredible, and they constantly change it which is brilliant, so you can go back every week and there is something new to try! We have never tried the food in here, but have seen it being served, and it looks lovely! A definite pitstop whilst you're roaming around town!

Parks & Nature

Lovely little park which is popular with families and dog walkers. There is a little lake, children's play area, tennis courts (free) and lots of places to have a relaxing picnic. If you are looking for a chilled afternoon, away from the hustle and bustle. This is the place for you!
